MORE OF THOSE BRITISH MILITANTS

Poor Rashid Rauf– the on the run Brummie now turned to wormfood care of a well directed US missile as he and his Islamist pals tripped through the mountains of Wazirstan. Rashid was linked to a UK plot to use liquid bombs to blow up transatlantic airliners but he was on the run after escaping from those ever so tough Pakistani jails. Rashid was arrested in Pakistan on 9 August 2006, at the request of US authorities, who feared he was about to disappear into the remote north-west of the country. I note that that the BBC’s very own Barbara “Yassir” Plett is quick to point out how annoyed the Tribal leaders are each time the US kills Jihadists. I don’t suppose the thought occurred to her that it might require that the “tribal leaders” whose opinion she rates so highly are exactly the sort of people missiles should be targeting. But back to Rashid the “Brit militant”. I’m surprised the BBC haven’t been speculating that poor Rashid the Brit hadn’t been on some sort of educational or charitable tour of Jihadistan – after all that’s pretty much the line retailed concerning every other “Brit” that ended up in Gitmo!

“Sikhs and Hindus accuse BBC of pro-Muslim bias”

Via the late Archbishop Cranmer, this in the Independent.

Hindu and Sikh leaders have accused the BBC of pandering to Britain’s Muslim community by making a disproportionate number of programmes on Islam at the expense of covering other Asian religions.

A breakdown of programming from the BBC’s Religion and Ethics department, seen by The Independent, reveals that since 2001, the BBC made 41 faith programmes on Islam, compared with just five on Hinduism and one on Sikhism.

Critics say the disproportionate amount of programming is part of an apparent bias within the BBC towards Islam since the attacks of 11 September 2001, which has placed an often uncomfortable media spotlight on Britain’s Muslims.

The godly Archbishop notes :

Apparent bias?

The Christians have been saying this for years. The BBC has said it would be content to consign the Bible to Room 101 but not the Qur’an, and there are numerous instances of the denigration of the name of Jesus but not that of Mohammed; scorn being poured over the declining Church of England but not the ascending Mosque of England; and the incessant questioning to the point of ridicule of the foundational tenets of Christianity (frequently during Christmas or Easter), while the claims of Islam are treated with reverence and submission (especially during Ramadan and Eid).

Of course Hindu and Sikh licence-fee payers should feel cheated.

But there is a very simple remedy. If a few more Sikhs were to become as militant as those who forced the closure of a theatre in Birmingham; and a few Hindus became as militant as their co-religionists in Orissa, the BBC would feel obliged to redress the imbalance.

The BBC is biased in India too…

“What is interesting is that the BBC is not reluctant to report an accusation — almost as if it were an established fact — but cannot bring itself to report an established fact that the torching of the train was a premeditated act of Islamic terrorism

Read about it here. I think someone pointed this one out in the comments on this site, too.

Just Asking…

Why is the article about accepting a role for Sharia in UK law given more prominence (with picture) on the BBC World News page than on the BBC UK page (where there is no picture, and it appears in the “other top stories” section. Oh, and the main story is something or other about a badger cull)?

Update: Great link here from George R for those who wish to explore further. Looks like one to bookmark.

A QUESTION OF CONVERSION.

It is my view that the BBC continually posits the BNP as a latter day evil whereas the same BBC is “sensitive” about Islam’s propensity to produce Jihadi determined to kill as many of us infidels as possible. As it happens, I have no time for either but the BBC must have drooled when they got the news that a former British National Party “activist” who converted to Islam in prison is trying to radicalise young prisoners. Inmate Stephen Jones is being held in a segregation unit at Whitemoor Prison, Cambridgeshire, the BBC has been told. Jones was put there after being suspected of recruiting for groups allied to al-Qaeda. The case has raised concerns that some radical Muslims are using prisons as a recruiting ground. If you read this BBC report it is a remarkable insofar as one is virtually led to believe that Jones is the first Islamist seeking to spread the good news that Jihad against us Brits is all part of the Prophets’ great plan. The BBC appears unaware that this same preaching of hatred is rampant in Mosques throughout this land and that thousands of Muslims living in Britain are fully on board with the perverted ideology of radical Islam. Who taught them? It wasn’t poor Jones, was it?

BUSH DERANGEMENT SYNDROME

. If you want a laugh, I suggest you read these comments on the BBC “Have your Say” page concerning the imminent arrival of US President Bush to the UK tomorrow. I particularly enjoyed Muhammad (sic) Adam’s comment that “Bush is the world’s biggest terrorist and murderer. He should not be allowed into the UK. His presence in this pure land violates its sanctity. Bush has not done anything good for his nation, or for any nation for that matter ever since he took office. He should be arrested for crimes against humanity, for genocide, for international terrorism.” I think Muhammad may be articulating BBC policy on this topic as they prepare for a hurricane of protest at the Bush visit. I’ve been invited on the BBC Northern Ireland Nolan Show tomorrow morning as someone who supports the President’s record on te war on terror. Guantanamo is one area that I suspect will be tackled, with the likes of Shamnesty International’s street burlesque in orange jumpsuits through Belfast city centre being give considerable media time by the BBC. My only problem with Gitmo was that enemy combatants made it that far. A gulag of our times that allows inmates to put on weight is a gulag too far. I know the hard-left will be out in full-on moonbat mode tomorrow, whinging about all the imperfections of the US President without anything substantial to say about the Islamic pathology that brought us 9/11, 7/7, Madrid and Bali to name but a few. Bush derangement syndrome will be evident in BBC new coverage over the next 48hrs and I will report back on my experience tomorrow.

TYRANTS AND THE RELIGION OF PEACE.

You have to laugh at it all really. Yesterday the BBC reported on the attendance of Robert Mugabe at the UN Food Conference in Rome without managing to consider how it it that the UN could invite a man to such an event who starves his own people to death. EU compliance with the Mugabe jamboree was similarly ignored by the BBC itself. Today, the BBC reports the good news that at a meeting in Saudi Arabia the Islamic Development Bank said it would spend $1.5bn (£760m) over five years to help the least developed Muslim countries tackle the food crisis. If only the decadent west could follow the good example shown by the Islamic world, right? The BBC loves one thing more than an African tyrant and that is a gaggle of Islamic tyrants.

SOCIAL COHESION AND SAVING GORDON.

Just ten minutes this morning into the “Today” programme on BC Radio 4 and I had to turn it off.

Just before the 7 a.m. news we had an item on “social cohesion”and the racial tensions that are evident in places like Dagenham. The spectre of the rise of the BNP was raised by the BBC interviewer and all agreed that this “far-right” abomination was undesirable. The solution to “divided communities” appeared to be “arts-based” social initiatives! Tell it to the Jihadists and those within the Muslim community who support them and who refuse to integrate within our communities. The BBC can’t even see the problem but instead fulminate against “the far right”.

Meanwhile, just a few minutes later and after a weekend which saw John Prescott, Cherie Blair and Lord Levy all expose Gordon Brown’s dysfunctional personality, the BBC then ran an item clearly designed to bolster Brown. The loathsome Denis McShane and Lance Price were allowed to explain why all this tittle-tattle meant nothing and said more about those who indulged in it than it did about the Great Leader. It seemed to escape them that all this invective against Brown was coming from within the Party, from senior figures. Operation Save Gordon seems in full swing and it should prove hugely entertaining to watch the BBC explain away what looks set to be a rout of Labour in Crewe in but a few weeks!

SICK OF MILITANTS.

So little time, so many “militants.” I was reading this story on the BBC about Basra “militants” and then this story about Hamas “militants.” Each time Islamic inspired terrorists seek to bring death and destruction upon the innocent, the BBC trots out this “militant” euphemism. What’s the problem with using the correct word – TERRORIST? Oh I know the liberal media, including the BBC, sprint away from making any moral judgement about those scum that detonate themselves in Pizza restaurants, or at wedding parties, or even on London underground trains but all this does, in my view, is demonstrate their own innate moral relativism and cowardly failure to call things as they are.

SATURDAY LIED?

The Fi Glover hosted “Saturday Live” programme on BBC Radio 4 is a hoot. It’s insidious left-wing propagandising, wrapped up in the thin veneer of magazine style culture, cuts no ice here. Take the item ran this morning on the Turk Murat Kurnaz, held for 5 years in Guantanamo Bay. He alleges that he was tortured & maltreated during that time by those bad Americans, naturally. Fi seemed a tad coy enquiring into the background on this allegedly “Innocent man in Guantanamo” – with a book deal to plug around the world. For example, she repeated the nonsense that he is a German man of Turkish origin. Wrong. He is a Turk with an expired German residence. Kurnaz felt moved to travel to Pakistan in the autumn of 2001, (Mm, wonder what the motivating event was that inspired this pilgrimage?) in order to devote time to his religious faith and expand his knowledge about Islam by visiting religious schools. Yes, I bet! Just like so many others who ended up in Gitmo he was afflicted by the bad luck of being in the wrong place at the wrong time – and he repeated his assertion that about 95% of the inmates at Gitmo are as equally innocent as him. I agree, I am sure they are, if you know what I mean. This goon is parroting the BBC narrative that Guantanamo is a great evil and that all in-mates are god-fearing innocent men – just like Kurnaz. I’m looking forward to Fi invited me on to help me plug my new book! That should happen just after hell freezes over.
