I watched a piece about entrepreneurs on BBC News yesterday. They went to Levi Roots for a zoom call. Oh dear, his office was not well lit, no light coming from behind the screen. You could not see his face at all in this gloom, but his white shirt and red tie were clear. I couldn’t even see his teeth when he smiled. Best laugh of the day.

    Morning all
This chap seems to have put up a pretty good video about the BBC.
I agree with what he says – but in truth there is no way that Boris and the Tories will allow the equally treacherous BBC to become a subscription service – but this video is certainly worth a look.

My personal opinion is that with the death of democracy and the imposition of tyranny the BBC knows that a state propaganda service will be essential to whichever pro globalist/woke despot runs the country and guess what that old whore Aunty has been doing these sort of “tricks” for years.
    “Boris you want business luv?

No government will defund the BBC. Its too useful. The worst thing they will do from my perspective, is to move the License Fee to general taxation. But from the government and BBC POV, the BBC will then be viewed as a state broadcaster, and thus lose its reputation as an independent broadcaster.

Stopped paying the LF a year ago. Ignored all their letters , and unplugged the aerial. This is the best available option.

Slowly, as the money shortage bites, and the government does nothing, the BBC will have to capitulate. Subscription service for the BBC is coming. Though my fear is that some other tax ruse is being thought up, that will get the BBC its money, while still maintaining its cover of independence.

There is another aspect to unplugging the aerial. Independent broadcasters whose money comes from advertising, are affected, as the total numbers of viewers get less. I’m sure they will be making their views known.

Oak, that’s really well put and the scary thing is that it’s likely to be fact. When are the people going to rebel and stop what’s happening?

Even that old fool running America now is letting some states be done with the stupid unnecessarily restrictions. He knows he can’t stop people (mostly republicans) from having their lives back because the rules were not necessary in the first place.

I want to know when our people are going to stop the tyranny that’s swept these lands?

Oak what you said about the bbc not being dumped onto subscription when that’s where they belong is only because they help Boris in many ways most against us people that live here.

Rebel – I have always considered the MSM and in particular the BBC like a slow drip psychological poison/drug. For those who are not of an independent mindset this also entails a period of “cold turkey ” until they get their sanity back.

Unfortunately with every media outlet/newspapers/billboards dominated with all of this deceitful guff I do wonder whether some people will never”wake up” and now suffer from a sort of Stockholm Syndrome where they almost enjoy feeling victimised and powerless – hence the hostility they project onto those who challenge their belief system.

A recent YouGov survey said that people “will miss some aspects of lockdown – typical disingenuous government stuff , I am sure in WW2 many Jews quite liked having the trains running on time but maybe not everything else that came with it!

To be honest though – I expect there are quite a few newly infanticised adults out there who enjoy the government paying their wages, doing little and feeling virtuous at the same time. These are the dangerous ones who with their supine, defeatist quiescence are helping to lubricate the wheels of tyranny.

As for the BBC – Boris is not stupid, to get away with his criminal actions he needs a media outlet to lead the others. The disgusting BBC is just that. I expect it will not be going anywhere soon. I do wonder whether that Boris,s constant sabre rattling over the BBC is just a way of keeping the rest of us on side. It is a sign of weakness. They have imposed tyranny upon us but are not quite confident yet to truly trust that it will work out as they want.

Great analogy Oak, I forget that there are loads now who are getting paid to stay st home and not work because I have not had the choice of doing this and have worked throughout this Chinese virus.but yeah, them people probably don’t want lockdowns to end and coupled with the scared senseless sheeple no wonder there riots have not happened yet.

The biased Bbc are certainly a mouth piece for propaganda by the government but they drop feed us negative comments too about Boris just so that we don’t all clock ok to what’s really going on.

People like Churchill and thatcher would be spinning if they saw how the so called conservatives are behaving now.

It’s a case of physician, heal thyself, this morning in the Daily Mail: ‘NHS staff could be forced to have jab

It may come as a surprise to expert vaccine enthusiasts, such as BBC go-to man Dave Bartram* of the Showwaddywaddy, but there’s a good deal of scepticism in NHS ranks about rushed to market, not fully tested, new drugs.

And, contrary to some narratives, it’s not all, as Ali G might exclaim – “cos I is black”

Dozens of NHS workers are fighting for compensation after developing narcolepsy from a swine flu vaccine that was rushed into service without the usual testing when the disease spread across the globe in 2009. They say it has destroyed their careers and their health‘ [Buzz Feed, 2018]

[*Honours degree in Doo-Wop & entomological qualification in beetle-crushing shoes]

The Mail report goes on: ‘Radical plan considered for thousands who turn it down (but what if they STILL refuse?)‘ – good question.

By the way, there are apparently 200,000 healthworkers who have so far declined the generous offer of a State prescibed shot. Perhaps the psychopathic Matt Hancock will Zoom in from his little red-painted cubby hole and suggest taking them out into NHS carparks and shooting them?

There was a time, not so long ago, when we enjoyed TV and the familiar personalities we invited into our homes by way of the cathode-ray tube: ‘Greavsie’s tears for his pal Saint‘ (Daily Mirror)

Showing that an Englishman and a Scotsman needn’t be at loggerheads, or indeed the opening two-thirds of the dramatis personae to a joke – before the Pakistani arrives, as it were…

Nowadays our only Saints are “frontline” workers (at least those up for the jab). And, despite one’s lingering admiration for the Scots, one can’t help but find oneself wishing a certain Scot would hurry up and take the highroad: ‘Sturgeon on the brink‘ (Daily Mail) – proverbially, at least, her countrymen tend to be on the drink. By the way, who would have guessed the Ref in the sky would have blown the final whistle on Ian St John before his well-pickled pal Jimmy was shown the red card?

Devastating documents that could topple her TODAY‘ (Mail) – I’ve heard tell there’s a strain of petty vandalism centred on the knocking over of suburban garden gnomes. (An underground hobby which predates the recent habit of statue toppling). The longer established occupation causing much hilarity among its officianados – but to quote that over-quoted phrase from Michael Dobbs’s House of Cards – “I couldn’t possibly comment”

Hope you’ll excuse my two penn’orth ASI, but it’s always a treat to see what the BBC think we ought to know, in their text page review of the papers. Priority, naturally, goes to the Guardian with Rishi Sunak’s budget headlined – yet they feel compelled to add that the Labour party think his furlough extension to September should have been announced ‘months ago’. Of course.
Most of the other titles keep to the budget theme…except for the ‘Old Thunderer’ Times which reveals less than savoury aspects of La Markle’s behaviour while in Buck House. And, strange to say, the Times doesn’t feature in the review at all.
    Probably an oversight.

9am R4 “How to Stop *Men* Hurting Women

Sangita Myska meets Jackson Katz, an innovator who believes his idea can rid the world of male violence and abuse”

Isn’t that BBC every day sexism ?

    Men do not hurt women
I don’t, … just certain bad men do
Meanwhile across there in the playground girls are being beaten by girl gangs etc.

Violence against women isn’t a male thing
    it’s a ‘bad person’ thing
and it happens that the majority of bad violent people are male.

The prog does divide by sex
    Their expert begins by saying
“Violence against women is in fact a men’s issue.”
He points out it’s seen as a WOMEN’S issue cos they report it, but what you want to do is prevent the MEN doing bad stuff in the first place”
“involves the bystander approach, where men make *misogynist beliefs* completely unacceptable.”
What he counts as misogynist beliefs, are commenting to other men as women walk past.

What he means he we need to get BAD MEN before they do violence.

Presenter “as a woman of colour …”

    • StewGreen says:

I once met someone who after a long time gave up working in women’s refuges
Her contention was that a lot of it was to with the personality of the women. She said they’d help a woman get away from a bad man, but the a few months later she’d be back in the refuge cos she’d hooked up with another bad guy.
She also suggested that speaking of physical violence was wrong, as things often began with emotional violence. Surprisingly she expressed some sympathy for some bad guys saying the woman might pick on them emotionally, until they exploded, and the guy would get arrested. She argued the actual problem had begun with weeks of emotional bullying from the woman leading up.

I’ve read in a few places that domestic abuse, mainly physical though often emotional, is proportionally higher in same-sex relationships than in heterosexual relationships with it being percentage-wise highest amongst lesbian couples.

Doesn’t in any way excuse violence by men against women and numerically as heterosexual relationships are still the norm the number of incidents of such violence will be higher but the narrative that all men are potentially violent and that it is men alone who are actually violent towards women is false.

Before the ‘science’ of ‘triggering’ was discovered little girls, in particular, would chant in playgrounds ‘sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me’.

While that is true it can also be used as a taunt, a taunt used to goad little boys into violence so that a ‘higher power’, the teacher, will intervene and reinforce the moral right of the goader.

The ‘cutting word’ is a weapon also used by girls against girls who don’t conform, they are forever excluded and other girls brought in to enforce that exclusion. Boys, however, come to blows, which hurt in the moment but they recover from them, unlike the verbal insults. A power hierarchy evolves and they all get on together or, at the worst split into rival gangs.

As I write this it becomes more and more like modern politics. We have let the girls run things. Perhaps we might not have nation on nation wars, ‘gangs’, but we don’t have a ‘kinder, gentler’ politics, we have viscious, name-calling, exclusionary, moralism, collectivism, all traits girls practice in the playground!

Worthwhile to say, that is. Eminent American economist Prof Ken Rogoff, a Harvard Prof no less, waffles pointlessly with Martha at one point in this morning’s programme. Something of a skill that, talking for five minutes without saying anything of value or providing any special insight.

I guess the BBC Execs have brought back BBC3 as a TV Channel in case they need to sell it off to cover TV Licence cancellations. As an internet channel it was pretty much of no value to a purchaser but as a terrestial TV Channel (with its various licences) it is likely to make some money

Having long long ago stopped ruining my day by watching any of the deranged government Covid ‘briefings’ I have long since resorted to deciding what I want to do for the day, asking Mrs Kafir whether I’m allowed (by the Govmt. not her – that’s another matter) and then making a call on the risk/reward benefit. I have never been that interested in the minutiae of the deranged.

I do wonder about the leftie/Luvvie brigade at We are so Worthy land. Not exactly the Red Brigade are they? You get the feeling they would run a mile from any hardline Marxist polemic. I can only assume they are used as useful fools to divert attention away from the real agenda – the aggrandisment of neo-liberalism, a culture that has almost entirely engulfed the media and political class. Little wonder the subject of Marxist theology has all but disappeared from the world of academia over the last twenty years. Another piece of world history that the Establishment has consigned to the round file(the bin) along with the bits of British history that don’t suit like the efforts to abolish slavery. This all cheer-led by the BBC of course. I have deliberately used the Marxist/anti slave-trade example because I think it shows on the one hand the gullibility of both the Woke and ‘left wing’ and on the other the ruthlessness of the neo-liberal establishment to achieve their aims. As von Clausewitz said – know your enemy. I think this lot are far more dangerous than a bunch of effete lefties.

I thought I would watch the 6pm news this evening and lasted about 3 minutes. Analysis of the budget by a hairdresser from Liverpool; a clip from Sir Kier’s response to the budget telling us the government hadn’t considered the last 10 years nor the coming 10 years (but money not mentioned nor any of his excellent jokes as highlighted by Guido), a brief mention of wee Krankie and then telling us that a poor downtrodden Duchess denied bullying her staff (and she couldn’t be lying, could she?). I just thought I couldn’t be bothered with news tonight. We know the analysis will all come from either Left leaning think tanks or Labour activists pretending they have been chosen by chance to tell us how hard done to they are and any inconsistencies in Nikola’s testimony will be glossed over and then it will be time for the news where you are (more of the same).

I notice gov.uk is late with its Daily covid Summary usually out at 4pm so I guess a good time to bury bad news.

      6,385 new positive cases
      and 315 new deaths

about 5% of tests come back positive
that means a significant portion will be false positives

In the old days when 40% of tests were positive then real cases vastly outnumbered the false positives
but as cases fall more of the positives are false

It’s amazing that you can spend 20 years studying a subject as a professional academic and the end result of that 20 years study is an apparently earth shattering revelation that will solve everything and yet it is blatantly and immediately obvious to any onlooker that the conclusion is complete bollocks.

It is also amazing that the BBC not only treats this new wonderfix seriously but gives it a great deal of airtime and credibility….

‘Sangita Myska goes in search of the innovators who think they hold the key to improving the way we live.

Jackson Katz believes abuse perpetrated by men against women can be prevented and ended, forever.

His idea starts with upending how we see the problem, “Violence against women is in fact a men’s issue. The very act of calling rape or domestic violence a women’s issue, shifts the focus of accountability and responsibility off of men and puts it onto women – which I consider a subtle form of victim blaming.”

His solution involves the bystander approach, where men make misogynist beliefs completely unacceptable.’

Katz says we need to re-educate men, reset their mindset so that they will understand that they must not hit women…society must recalibrate how it tells men how to act…every man must be reprogrammed so that they no longer randomly use violence against women at every opportunity for no reason.

If you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem…no good just being non-violent yourself you must hunt down men who demean women with sexist and bigoted misogynist comments and remonstrate with them….naturally this type of thinking appeals to the BBC as it’s a cross-over from critical race theory and all that horlocks….Sangita Myska ‘as a women of colour’ can understand the thinking and welcomes it.

This is of course total tripe….nowhere does society tell men it’s OK to hit a women…the complete opposite in fact..society already rears its people in non-violence and in particular non-violence towards women…hitting a women is heavily frowned upon and taboo….so that was 20 years studying well spent…did he not notice that taboo?

The scenarios where women do get hit are unlikely to be ones where a lecture from some pious puritan will have the slightest effect….instant anger arising from whatever situation and those people who will do it whatever because that’s the way they’re wired.

Just more woke nonsense posturing as real science as the BBC once again demonises men, all men, and seriously suggests we are all in need of careful realignment of our perceptions and values as we’re all violent misogynists if not rapists who just haven’t raped anyone yet.

If the Marxist inspired Climate Change movement had any ‘sense’ they would immediately petition the UN to persuade their member states to stop these volcanoes from erupting thus demonstrating their complete and utter stupidity.

Joking aside, this is likely to affect Reykjavik big time as it is on its doorstep.
