The Licence enforcement arm of the Far Left BBC is continuing to target the over 75s to buy a licence . 750000 have so far failed to buy one since the ‘free ‘ licence concession was removed . So before the BBC accuses others of sharp practices perhaps it should look to itself .

I’ll repeat again , the BBC need to ask the RHA how many of its members have a flourishing trade in international haulage , the answer being a round figure of 0 .

The only Sunday night TV I saw was 20 minutes of the Antique Roadshow and the BBC managed to find a trans person who brought in a bronze trans thing for the experts to fawn over.

I switched it off at that point.

Erm, because they are gathering evidence. It’s not unusual early into an investigation for police to withhold descriptions of possible assailants (even if they have some) so as not to prejudice further potential witnesses coming forward.

But never mind any of that nonsense…

Meanwhile Sky News reports a member of staff at a hospital in Kilmarnock has been the victim of a stabbing but nothing from the BBC.

From this we can say we confidence that the stabber is either black, Muslim or an illegal immigrant from the local hotel.

At least it wasn’t the BBC. But this morning Classic FM reported with great glee that the AstraZeneca vaccine wouldn’t work on the South African variant. But it was the glee with which it was reported – anyone would think that people at Global News were personal friends of Ursula.

The situation in America is getting increasingly tense. The Gateway Pundit is the latest to have its Twitter feed silenced.

This is so unheard off – an American company that effectively is about Free speech, silencing blogs that disagree with it.

Now there calls in Congress for all sorts of senators and Reps to be impeached, for one reason or other.
The BBC should keep us properly informed, and I hope not taking sides.

GP said it got banned, cos it released footage of election trucks delivering votes way after the deadline
and then MSM made bogus Fact-Check videos saying this was a lie.
Their weird argument was that just cos the trucks arrived at 3:30am that doesn’t mean they hadn’t left the polling office 7.5 and 8.5 hours earlier before the 8pm deadline
      https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/02/fact-checking-phony-fact-checkers-gateway-pundits-explosive-michigan-tcf-center-reporting-absolututely-shows-voter-fraud/

Yesterday, Twitter permanently banned Gateway Pundit Publisher Jim Hoft likely because of these videos.
Other entities like NewsGuard, Sleeping Giants, and others, use “fact check” propaganda like this to lobby the GP’s advertisers to abandon the Gateway Pundit. This is how totalitarians operate: crushing dissenting truth-tellers.
This is how the ruling oligarchy in this country operates:

In the fast moving news world I would expect the GP has published opinions that turned out not to be true
but leftwing publications do the same thing all the time.
It’s weird Twitter has decided to police righty content but not lefty.
that’s like banning Muslim content but not Christian.

Hilarity ensued, as various equally blessed masters, mistresses and raccoons of the universe vied with each other to pen vast outrage at how precious their time was wasted by such intrusions.

Until it was pointed out they were simply adding to the pomposity spiral and the option of ignoring, deleting or unsubscribing was available.

We then had umpteen people sending ‘reply all’ messages saying that they didn’t wish to know that.

Followed by umpteen ‘reply all’ messages telling people not to use the ‘reply all’ facility.

Quite right Seppers, the point I failed to include yet is that the Gates Foundation pours millions into a BBC “Charity?” called BBC Media Action.

Revealed: BBC ‘Charity’ receives MILLIONS in funding from Gates Foundation

        https://unitynewsnetwork.co.uk/revealed-bbc-charity-receives-millions-in-funding-from-gates-foundation/

Of the Charity the BBC say “In a world where media can be divisive and untrustworthy, we believe in the power of media and communication to do good.”

So can a global campaigning information network ever be called a charity?

        And a footnote…

“Last week multi-billionaire ‘philanthropist’ Bill Gates appeared on the BBC and was also given extensive positive coverage across the vast billion pound taxpayer funded network.

During his interview Gates referred to himself as a ‘health expert’ and this went unchallenged.”

\\ millions into a BBC “Charity?” called BBC Media Action.//
          .. Any context there ?
One year Gates contributed 10% of the charities money
          but over 20 it’s more like 2.5%
          That’s hardy a controlling stake
And Gates programmes seem entirely valid mostly health education.
The charity does seem a bit of a front
eg their Iranian woman seemed to be training seemed to be training journalists how to use social media against the ayatollahs … that seems a good thing

The BBC’s annual budget is 100 times more than the charities
so Bill is hardly controlling the BBC.

          • Solomon Grundy says:

BBC Media Action is (was?) the vehicle used by the EU to part-fund the BBC. As I understand it, the EU demands that any organisation taking its cash cannot speak ill of it and the recipient of their thirty pieces of silver signs a contract agreeing to this. (The amount does not therefore need to be a “controlling stake”.)

I remember Jacob Rees-Mogg trying to get to the bottom of EU’s payments to the BBC but being given a right old run-around.

The real question is why the BBC’s charter can be ignored when monies are being paid into a “commercial arm” of the BBC. How exactly are the BBC’s commercial arms (which are wholly owned by the BBC) exempted from the charter?

If there are no races (miscegenation, watch the adverts) there is no racism; if there are no nations (unfettered immigration) there are no wars; if there is no personal property (you will own nothing and be happy – WEF manifesto) there will be no crime. If you look at the incredibly wealthy families in the US, and I admit I am generalising, the wives in particular, all play at their involvement with green issues whilst their husbands increase their wealth. However look even more carefully and there are huge amounts of money to be made at that level. Look at Al Gore and John Kerry. These families may see it as philanthropy but don’t think they need to get rid of private jets etc.

Precisely! They justify their plans for the world as being for the ultimate benefit of us all. No war, no racism, no greed. Unfortunately human nature is not like that. There will always be people who want more, be it money, privilege or power. How many times has communism been tried? “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs”. Brilliant in theory, impossible in practice. And, of course, it doesn’t apply to them. Well, someone has to organise it!

For those who say it is just conspiracy theory, is it not strange all these coincidences? For example WEF says we must eat less meat; a prominent member of WEF, Bill Gates, now owns 97,934 hectares of farmland in the USA (he is America’s largest land owner now), much of it used for rearing cattle but for how much longer? Just one quote – “He also has been vocal on the need for a solution to reduce the amount of methane cattle give off when they belch and pass gas”.

How long will cash be around? Think how convenient it will be for a Government to control the economy when it is all electronic.

Next generation Smart meters and 5G will give enormous powers to people to control usage and pricing, especially when you will only have EVs. It is impossible, at the present rate of progress, to charge the present number of cars if they were all to be electric, but remember what WEF say, “You will own nothing and be happy”.

Of course, you will also be on Universal Basic Income (UBI), already being mooted as a solution to the present Covid crisis. Eventually the vast majority of us will be reliant on State aid one way or another. Another WEF objective met.

Of course, it’s all conspiracy theory, just coincidences. All those world leaders meeting at Davos every year are only there for the Ski-ing

Not only will it be easy for the Government to control the economy but they will also be able to control the individual. Without cash to purchase anything all it will take is a quick phone call to your bank and they will know precisely where you were when you last used your bank card.

This she devil and some Witches from the BBC didn’t like him being nasty towards the Beelzebub Broadcasting Corporation, so he had to go.

The evil Princess Nut Nut is now an integral part of delivering Wokery and Green Party policy. This country has now ended up with a Prime Minister who’s girlfriend has got him to worship that demonically possessed Greta girl, and then locked us down under a medical Marxist dictatorship.

I fear government the most when it comes to abuse of social media. It has, and will use the fear of criminals or terrorists, to shut down social media. This is what the bovernment fears the most- not rapists ( we know they dont, even child mass rapists), but free and easily distributed information. The USSR feared Samizdat, so too the goverment now.

Witness the way that Big Tech, in cahoots with government, shut down Parler. And Amazon too, threw Parler off its servers.

Now I didnt know that Amazon was a big player in Servers. Amazon is a monopoly anyhow, but for it to move into Servers. Big player too. That is when Alarm bells should have be ringing in goverenment. But they didnt.

To quiten forebodings in the EU of the brazen display of censorship power by Amazxon, Bezos was “supposedly” moved on, and Amazon then donated a billion to Climate Change. The EU or our government is quiet.

I’m trying to work out this Northern Ireland/ Ireland /EU problem and can’t see what it is !

It can only be imports into the Republic, not mainland Europe/ EU .
I’ve tried looking into the shipping routes I hope a freight forwarder can help .
Let’s take as an example a Chinese firm exporting to Europe.
There are direct links from China to Ireland , and direct links from China to the rest of the EU .
The EU and Remainers pride themselves on the trade deal between the EU and China .
So why would a Chinese exporter who wants to send something to mainland EU use Northern Ireland ?
I can’t find direct shipping from China to Northern Ireland ( can anyone help ?) . It looks like you’d have to ship from Shanghai to Rotterdam orHamburg then use EUcon containers to Belfast but then what ? Put them on a lorry to Dublin to cross to Britain to transit to Dover then across ?!?!
Whatever customs duties you’ve saved would be more than swallowed in handling costs and transportation.
The whole NI / Ireland dispute seems just that and nothing to do with goods to the rest of the EU , and even that altercation is easily resolved without the EU sticking its paddle in .

The EU needs to build a tunnel from the Old Head of Kinsale to Landunvez in Brittany. Then they could send it by lorry from Dublin to Cork, then through the Irish-French EU Unity Tunnel, on to Brest, and then the road to Paris or Nantes.

What is truly scary is that not only is the US no longer a democracy but it is a country in which the law breakers feel able to boast in public about how they broke one of the fundamental principles of the republic in the certain knowledge that they will suffer no consequences.
So we are now in a post democratic era where votes count for nothing and elections are a sham to keep, for a little while at least , the pretence that there is government of the people by the people. If a citizen’s vote counts for nought then the way of ‘ protesting’ via the ballot box has been removed and how exactly do the elite think that the energy of protest will find expression? Presumably they feel that with their total control of the MSM and the law they are impregnable and can successfully resist any protest or pressure from ordinary folks.im sure that the Bolshevik party felt the same. Hopefully it won’t take seventy years before the people can shake off the shackles of the elite.

Tesco calls for online sales tax

Tesco has renewed its call for a 1% online sales tax for large online retailers such as Amazon. The company said it “believes strongly that there should be a level playing field for all retailers, online or physical”. Tesco is also one of 18 retailers asking Chancellor Rishi Sunak for a permanent cut in business rates – the tax that’s levied on business property. The supermarket wants rates to fall by at least 20%.

      ***

Such rates are used to fund services.

Hence Tesco ‘wants’ money diverted from the public to it to prop up a failing model. Or more taxes on the public to keep it in gravy.

Recall being taught about engineering responsibilities back in the day, and the lecturer cited a case where a dam was constructed on a steep valley to create a reservoir.

Sadly, the water undermined an undiscovered seam back upstream to cause a landslide that sent a tsunami that overtopped the dam.

      People died.

The engineers who built the dam were lauded. It held. The soil engineers were jailed.

If negligent, justified. If unlucky, political.

I would have thought a reservoir with a dam at one end and a glacier at the other might anticipate certain natural events.

    • Grumbler says:

It’s a result of the new WHO guidelines on case definition (brought out within an hour of the inauguration).
2 positive tests are now required or 1 with the symptoms to be regarded as a case. Also US labs are turning the PCR test cycles down from 42 to 35 and this reduces the amount of positives.

You didn’t think this was science did you?

      • Up2snuff says:

Grumbler, doesn’t that increase the number of positives, turning down the PCR test cycles? To reduce the number of cases, would you not need to raise the level?

The other problem with a reduced test cycle is that it may increase the numer of false positives and false negatives and increase the numbers of failures to spot the difference between coronavirus cold, coronavirus influenza and coronavirous Covid.

        • StewGreen says:

Up2Snuff I think you have it the wrong way round
You start PCR and do a few cycles to amplify the signal particles you are looking for
You should then find all the strong positives
You amplify further and you’ll mop up the weak positives

Now if you over amplify you pick up the really really weak positives
They are either false positives or Covid so weak it is probably not a spreader

Turn it back down and you’ll get all the positives that matter.
You still get some false negatives cos some people will have been tested too early to have a viral count.

Fed, listening early doors to both BBC Radio 4 and 5 Live this morning pushing the AstraZennica South Africa variant ‘story’ for all its worth.

Their agenda is blatant and obvious. Their message, to be shrilled louder and louder as the day progresses is clear; this variant is not affected by the vaccine, therefore we must remain in lockdown, any talk of easing it must be supressed, the restrictions must continue, the older of us in society will not be safe, the vaccine, produced in the UK (Not EU) is bad & not effective. Nothing must change, don’t think of a better spring and summer ahead, because nothings changing and you all need to be very afraid.

Now, for balance the trial the South Africans conducted has not yet been peer reviewed, it was conducted across a very small sample (200 persons), and mainly on much younger subjects – Imagine if you have a wonder drug for Alzheimer’s disease and only tested it on Children, I’m not sure you would see success…..
Not that BBC cover this part of the story as it does not fit the narrative.

Spotting the chinks in the cracks and old queens news

The free-at-the-point-of-access, but heavily subsidised by government advertising, giveaway Metro newspaper unsurprisingly gifts the government vaccination programme a booster this morning: ‘1,000 jabs a minute. Vaccinations top 12 million‘ – with an inset photo (because presumably we have difficulty visualising these things) captioned: ‘Lots of shots: Woman receives a jab in Birmingham‘ – penetrating news there, relegating the news of mutiple men receiving a stab in London over the weekend.

The giveaway throwaway Metro devotes the other half of its frontpage to that old tabloid staple – the weather: ‘Simply beastly. Storm Darcy Bustles in from the east and causes chaos‘ – this is a rather subtle play on the Met Office name for the storm and a pun on the name Darcy Bussell the former ballerina.

What next, we wonder, are we reading a tabloid here, or watching the evolution of some new South Bank Show-inspired punning slang? Might the Metro caption parenting advice: “what to do if your child goes Bolshoi Ballet and throws its Simon Rattle out of the Niall Buggy. Should you be Laurence Sterne or remain Plácido Domingo?”

The ‘i‘ newspaper admonishes: ‘How sloppy England played into Scotland’s hands‘ – far be from our national media headlines to touch on current Scots political machinations – this is a story about rugby.

The Telegraph catches up with a long-running issue and presents a vaguely conservative-sounding heading for once: ‘Far-left “hijacking” of race and climate movements to be investigated

Here too in the Telegraph Tim Stanley has something positive to say about Britain: ‘We must move faster to trade with the rest of the world and avoid EU racket

For a moment there I’m almost buying into the BBC mantra that our print media is conservative, but I’ll read on…

On the vaccines issue the Telegraph meanwhile seems to appeal to a higher authority, even than the Tory PM: ‘Keep faith in Oxford jab, urges minister

The materialist miserablist Guardian meanwhile is apparently having none of it: ‘Rethink on jabs urged after varient cuts efficiency

And the Times decides, when in doubt to double dip, on vaccines: ‘Autumn jab to ward off new strains of covid-19‘ – now hang on, is this autumn jab additional to the second dose of the first, and will the autumn one need a second booster, and what about next winter’s new infections? I’m losing count of the jabs, like a Met police commissioner losing count of the stabs.

NHS planning annual campaign of booster injections to tackle new strains‘ – admits the ‘i‘. There was me naively assuming the definition of a vaccine was to be a one-off for life protection sort of thing. Now I realise covid jabs come more like light bulbs, with a form manufacturer’s built-in obsolescence. I suppose there’s at least hope for one store space in every high street up and down the land to be converted into a constantly busy jab shop.

This has the makings of a kind of new industrial medical revolution. Employment for some, a new permanent profit stream for big pharma – and a population with multiple track marks on their upper arms like junkies.

We recall the former panic over reds under the bed, now we must fear chinks in the cracks. Following the Ofcom banning of their state-sponsored propaganda broadcaster & the discovery of their spies acting as journalists, now we have: ‘Hundreds of academics investigated over weapons link to China‘ (Times)

For the chance to bang on yet again about one of their favourite old hobby horses the Guardian digs up some story about a well heeled tax dodging old queen: ‘Elton John. I’ll survive, but Brexit is killing new music‘ – and this one too: ‘Queen lobbied for change in law to hide her wealth‘- both big stories in the 1970s, mind you.

But the big corporates are our new ruling majesties and they may seemingly lobby away to change our tax rules to their heart’s content: ‘Tesco tells Chancellor to hit online rivals with sales tax‘ (BBC) – far be it from the lefty Guardian to go against a big corporation on their frontpage, when they can dog whistle anti-British sentiment to their audience through the person of the Queen.

Warnings of power cuts and big disruptions‘ – frets the Daily Star. This is a little bit of winter weather, goodness only knows what might be in store as a consequence of: ‘Join our green Britain revolution!‘ – this the opening shot in a: ‘Major new Express campaign‘ – god help us!

“We have nothing to lose and everything to gain” – insists Dale Vince ‘Green entrepreneur‘ – in the Express. Speak for yourself mate, there’s my gas boiler and my petrol car… don’t I stand to have those confiscated?

And finally, well, you could have knocked me down with a feather (as I like to say): ‘Illegal migrants’ vaccine amnesty‘ (Daily Mail)

From the article you posted, andyjsnape – ‘This opinion was commissioned – but not paid for – by the Global Legal Action Network, a human rights campaign group that focuses on cross-border legal issues, and the World Uighur Congress and the Uighur Human Rights Project.

So, if these three groups, at least two of which have clearly vested interests, did not pay for the ‘esteemed’ legal opinion….who did ?

I listened to this all the way through.

At first hearing, two old white guys weighing in critically to the BBC.

But then I realised what was missing, and why. Two ex-BBC beneficiaries no longer there on expectation management. Cutting top floor roles is making progress? Why were they there in the first place? It is classic bargaining of the Souk; pitch ridiculously high and then spend hours chewing down), and laying out an inevitable case clear to all bar Tim Davie and various other multi-hundred thousand market rate talents, but with some glaring omissions.

We are being softened for an unacceptable compromise that gets them what they want, and admitted; a tax for an elite rich getting their preferences funded by all to make it cheaper, with a bit of propaganda for the govt. thrown in as a sweetener.

    Poll question that, Ollie.

Do I want MOTD or Ceebeebies to get Blue Planet?

    No.

But do I want Gary and Nish to get Sir Boaty, or Sir Boaty alone?

    Hell no.

Is £80,000,000 of Eastenders going to be written off for another Americast watched by a dozen people to fund Jon and BS shuttling the pond?

    I think not.

A conversation to be had? Bollux. That is code for ‘keep paying as that can gets kicked’.

Things have changed, irrevocably. You cannot un invent the atom bomb or ignore reality, as the ladies of CND tried to. Plus the women.

No matter how you try to juggle, or discuss juggling content headings, the fundamental culture aspect has changed too, and I am open to any non deranged suggestion on changing it back.

These two sage eminence gris talk about selective aspects of Netflix or Disney, but you can choose with them. Don’t like kiddie porn dressed up as societal commentary? Blow out the £5.99, or free. Not keen on pervasive John Boyega gurning? Sacrifice Soul and pop the Aristocats VHS back in the player. BritBox or iPlayer come with strings attached.

And that goes way beyond just content.

No mention that the ‘news’ on BBC isn’t. It is ideological opinion dressed up as reporting.

Equally all the money propping up Botney’s £6,000,000 and rising pension. Or BS’s and Zoe’s massive salaries. Or June Sarpong’s remuneration for whatever she does that doesn’t appear to be a working either.

The Titanic was an iconic brand, until it sunk because it was not fit for purpose, poorly run.

When will Labour and the BBC realise that it is the private sector that pays the bloody bills!!

I don’t listen much anymore and rarely watch..but today all I have heard is BBC knocking the UK

Did any one hear much about Cadbury’s bring manufacturing back to Birmingham..despite Brexit – or the 61 trade deal we have done?

And despite us being leaders in vaccination all the BBC can talk about is – the mutations and how the vaccinations ‘might’ not be as effective..

On the bright side there are more and more negative stories about BBC flying around…maybe the wheel is turning…

If they are working for Deloitte they charge what Deloitte is willing to pay. If they are defending you against a charge of murder you didn’t commit they get whatever pittance they can squeeze out of legal aid, which isn’t very much. There’s a reason Rumpole is regarded as by far the most authentic of all legal dramas, and it’s not just having the experience of the late John Mortimer QC behind him.

There are bent and greedy lawyers and there are honest lawyers who fervently believe in justice and the rule of law. I never met an arthur* who knew shit and in my business I encountered a lot of them before I retired. Starmer is right here, the real scandal is the obscene amount of money wasted on them.

      * Arthur (n): a management consultant; a callow youth farmed out by large accountancy firms to feed bullshit to businesses in return for large amounts of money. (Arthur Andersen: multinational accountancy firm that was dissolved after being found out helping Enron to commit major fraud)

And to plead my case could I refer you to the words of that Labour Party shadow attorney general which were in the press yesterday .

I note that both your BBC and the Labour Party have played his obscene words down ….

This is great news. It will allow Lewis to earn £30m a year travelling the world with a large team in private jets and chucking out a huge carbon footprint that comes with F1 racing around the world.

This will give Lewis the platform so he can lecture us on climate change and racial inequality that bothers him so much.

The BBC does do comedy. I listened – by accident to a chat on r5 between some bbc droid and an actress called ‘Juliet Stevenson ‘ who was full on luvvie . In fact – so luvvie that it was funny .
Apparently actors are suffering during the lockdown and need government support – so do theatres …. this self pity was funny but then she upped a gear by being prompted that she is an ambassador for ‘Amnesty International ‘ and has even taken in a ‘refugee ‘ presumably as cheap ‘help’ …

Ms Stevenson threw in something about the human rights act and by that time I was laughing out loud .

There is never a shortage of politicians , lawyers , journalists or actors …is there …?

I was just reading that. ‘Far-right terrorists’ being convicted are very rare so I went in to find out who he had attacked.
Turns out he had downloaded some stuff off the internet and posted racist comments on forums. All of it warranted a 2 year rehabilitation order.
My problem with this is : how many Muslims have been arrested for having terrorist literature on their computers ?. A very quick check with google tells me 17 children were arrested in 18 months with another 1,500 being monitored ‘at risk of radicalisation’. And this is just the children.
Yet one white boy who didn’t leave his keyboard gets a full page article.
It’s the double standards and hypocrisy which I find so disgusting.

Yes, “Far Right terrorism” we heard all about the most serious event to date on Twato earlier. In fact a judge has just concluded the case against a 13 yr old (yes, really!). The case is so serious (mention is made of Fascist graffiti sprayed on a garden shed……..) that the judge refused to give jail time.

Like most mature members of the population, I experience regular sleepless nights fearing what some immature 13 year old who watches too many films is up to with a spray can in my back garden. LoL…………………..

… as you say ..he spraypainted an image on his own shed and downloaded some stuff
.. He’s hardly left a trail of dead bodies.

yet on the other hand in London and Brum there are kids stabbing each other all the time
and the media coverage of their cases is minimal.

    Fake News:
The BBC reporter interviewed by Lady Brooke on Twato a few moments ago asserted that within “minutes” of the DJT speech on the 6th January the infiltrators of the Capitol were on their way to attack the building.

    Fact:
The timelines compared and evidence prove that the storming of the Capitol building was pre-planned and arranged and non-coincidental to the timing of the DJT speech.

The dishonest BBC should correct the impression that DJT is guilty of anything and issue an apology.

Even the EU, led by France and Germany, and Australia, are shocked that Donald Trump was silenced by Big Tech. They did so as soon as Pres Trump had left office. Thus in hand with the new regime.

So it is that Amazon is now trying to linit the damage by a bribe of a billion for Climate Change, and Bezos has “resigned”.

And yes, I very much yawned at the trans advert on Antiques Roadshow, but not as much as the real McCoy literally minutes previously on Ski Sunday. Mind you, the TV media and the promotion of the LGBT agenda has spread to all channels. Footie, rugger, skiing, cycling – the list is endless. Paying to have self-righteous preaching constantly shoved down our collective throat. I’m loving’ it – not a bit.
