Another one whose twitter feed is a non-stop vendetta against Trump (with some BBC sycophancy thrown in).
I’ve never know a group of people as intolerant to the views of others and as full of hate as the Left. They really should take a look in the mirror.

Is anybody else on here getting cheesed off with the woke-focused questions being asked on University Challenge?
UC is not hiding it, in fact there was a news release a while back trumpeting the change so that we now get questions about obscure female classical composers (I didn’t know there were any) and little-read ethnic minority authors and never-watched-and-arts-council funded film-makers.
At least, the teams are still mostly male and the BBC hasn’t imposed gender/disability/ethnic quotas – well not yet, anyway.

    • Emmanuel Goldstein says:

      Absolutely correct Sage.

I’ve mentioned this a couple of times on here and am glad others have noticed their very different types of questions.

Some of the wimmin questions are about wimmin who are just about anonymous and they have to ask the question by extending it to a question about the place she lived or some contemporary person vaguely having some loose connection with the wimmin.

I used to get between 20-25 answers correct each show but am down to about 15 now as I haven’t known what the question was about, much more obscure than the other 50 years or however long it’s been going on (since Bamber)

Or maybe I’m just getting seniler.

Channel 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. A great homogenous blob of the same old story. On and on and on ad infinitum. Talking of latin, old Biggus Dickus wouldn’t get a look in at Woke Central. It’s a bit like this pc (geddit?) keyboard that keeps correcting me like some rabid Maoist child of the revolution. Anyway I digress. The black Anne Boleyn is almost upon us and I therefore demand to play the part in the, no doubt, upcoming film bio of Harry Belafonte as I am not black and I cannae sing. Cultural misappropriation rules will magically (like VAR) apply, thereby making a mockery of any sense of these things being a two way street. Anyway, I’m off to learn my lines.

Sometime around Easter, when the weather is warmer, you would expect a big drop in covid cases and deaths just like the graph showed last summer and we were encouraged to go out and eat and spend.

This coincides with the time when lots of people will have been vaccinated, especially the more vulnerable who would have been featuring on the stats.

Expect the government to give themselves a big pat on the back when the summer stats come out and show the expected summer drop.
They will applaud the nhs and tell us all “didn’t we do well”
They (politicians) will take all the credit and say they handled everything very well.

And so many sheep will believe them.

I now realise that the BBC, Guardian and Independent “baiting” of the Government over Covid Christmas plans has a hidden agenda.

I think they are simply trying to stir up Muslim resentment and hopefully even a backlash if Christmas is not cancelled altogether..

So we can look forward to thousands of the chosen ones gathering in London in protest if Boris doesn’t put the screws on families plus detailed drawn-out articles on cherry-picked followers of the faith who contract the virus after Christmas even though they would never have set foot in a Christian household.

For Christ’s sake several hundred people wandering around every ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose (other supermarkets are available) most of the day is much more likely to be a trigger rather than Uncle and Auntie visiting from their bungalow in Shropshire.

Actually those distinctions are rather quaint, placing undeserved separation and obfuscation between the MSM and those they are every bit as bad as, but less hypocritical.

Fake news is disinformation, especially propaganda.

Fake news is misinformation, especially (self) censorship.

The BBC is up to its ears in both, daily, now running a smokescreen as cover.

I call BS. Likely powdering her nose in the green room being briefed by a deniable ‘sources who say’ research moppet.

      Don’t forget ‘no information’.

Misinformation, disinformation and fake news, call it what you will at least it can be referenced to what you do know, (or what you know that you don’t know).

But if no-one tells you that there are forests in North America or a Pope in the vatican you will never know that there are trees falling, bears defacating or pontiffs praying.

Should one ever find out about these unreported events they always have the excuse that there is so much to report each day that they can’t cover everything. Someone being ‘misgendered’ in Wagga Wagga obviously justifies clearing the ‘front page’.

Casting directors will check out the wheat from the chaff and we’ll get to see those of the calibre of Denzil Washington et al.

..but then we enter the BBC Woke bubbleworld where words seem to have different definitions.

So we are talking diversity here so I wonder who the guest will be ?
    and where he works ?
Not one of your BBC London mates again .

“Here’s a request from BBC journalist Rajan Datar”
    FFS
“Racism was rampant, racist graffiti everywhere , not like now
“I would get called names every day”
(Yes like happened to all of us, cos it’s life not special to non-whites )

“I am worried that might resurface with refugee kids”

    “Here’s Prof Kam Bhui ”
KB “Yes in Australia they have done research on bullying of the indigenous population”
… funny why you’re NOT talking about the bullying of the *indigenous* population ?

“In the UK there has been a reluctance to talk about RACE and RACISM”
    ..yeh right

“Racism is important cos NO ONE is thinking about it
.. there is a silence around race and racism .. people use the term bullying instead”

“It leads people to think that life is not fair”
.. Yes that is the nature of life , we are not all beautiful and intelligent
and we can’t all get on BBC BAME-only shortlists.

“Now prof Craig Morgan who is running a study into adolescent mental health ”
CM “We are trying to understand mental health in more diverse groups”
“Our study is in South London with a group that has a high proportion of ethnics”
.. FFS London again .. that’s not diverse
Diverse to you seems to mean “non-white”

“there are 4,000 in our study and around 30% report experiencing racism … this maybe an underestimate”
If he’s quibbling over the number , he’s not measuring it right.
‘there seems to be a correlation with mental health..and manifests in disruptive behaviour (chicken and egg there surely’? ..if someone mugs you , you might call him a racist word)
“around a 2 to 3 increase in MH problems” wow

    “people are doing self auditing”
‘they go around trying to void the racism’
.. Yes like we all go around trying to avoid muggers etc.

AFAIK it’s white young men that have highest suicide rate.

Rajan Datar “I think things are much better these days” I can imagine so
“I do think BLM has encouraged a more open discussion”
.. FFS has it ? It encourages BAME to make false complaints and whites to be afraid.

More on the book The War Against The BBC .

    Still in the introduction.

    There a paragraphs titled
    The BBC is in Danger
    Five Challenges
How Did We get To Here
    Where This Might Lead
How and Why We came to Write This Book
The Latest Attacks Since The 2019 General Election
What This Book Is and What It is Not .

The first para there tells of the increasing competition from technology and consumer trends . the authors claim that new technology increases the BBCs costs
The second para gives the challenges , consumption trends ,cost increases ,attacks on its impartiality , disproportionate constraints on its ability to compete and innovate , funding cuts .
Funding cuts to the authors are not increasing the licence fee .

Which is why in the next para they rail against the abolishment of free licences to OAPs . They believe a free licence is a welfare benefit that should be funded by general taxation .

The next para says that if the BBC is not funded “properly” then American giant media companies will dominate the world market .
The next para says that as part of the Market Research Society , the UK proffessional association for market researchers theyve had the pleasure to hand out awards at annual events . as they chatted they were appalled by relentless and dishonest attacks on the BBC – with the country painfully divided by Brexit and the world awash with disinformation .
The next para says that subscription is not viable , Dominic Cummings is against the BBC , the BBC is needed for Covid 19 info and its popular .

The last para is the remit of the book and why they think everyone will regret the passing away or diminished BBC .

The next chapter is What , Exactly is the BBC ?

Stay tuned for more excitement .
