An example of intelligent, informative and impartial reporting? I haven’t seen much evidence of it recently. I think the BBC used to produce something akin to that some time ago. The Financial Times and the Economist in the past showed signs of it. I never used to take much interest in the content of newspapers and the news as presented in mainstream media such as ITV and the BBC. I was more interested in factual topics such as science and nature. I later became interested in history and economics. More recently in sociology, psychology, society and culture.
Good reporting should be factual, descriptive, timely and relevant. Nowadays a lot of reporting is narrative led, giving rise to the impression of certainty where there is uncertainty, simplicity where there is complexity. There is style over substance, creative writing and imposition of opinion.
So what about you? Is there a reason for visiting this website? Is it boredom, or some righteous struggle against the imagined forces of regressiveness, or something else?

I hold people like Khant partly responsible for the anti-Trump sentiment, not just here but also in the US.
Americans want to be proud of their President (they have no Queen), so when they see him on the news being vilified and mocked with baby blimps and large demos, it affects them.

Have you noticed how the BBC adds onto every news report or comment about Trump claiming fraud a note that ‘He has provided no evidence of fraud’…..is this the same BBC that has spent 4 years accusing Trump of being a Russian agent having provided no evidence of that except for a dodgy dossier that the CIA knew was hokey and Mueller threw out…based as it was on information provided by Russian intelligence agents….you know…just to ‘help Trump’….lol….The BBC’s Paul Wood told us it came from Russian intelligence sources and yet still insisted they were ‘helping Trump’. This the BBC that spent years spreading utterly false and malicious tales about Brexit telling us that Cambridge Analytica had ‘stolen Brexit’ with no evidence of that whatsoever….when in fact it had absolutely nothing to do with Brexit?
The BBC addendum is clearly an editorial passed on from on high as it is prevalent throughout the BBC and every presenter makes sure to add it to their reports. Gotta get that toxic narrative right.
When Trump wanted to stop people voting after the cut-off time the BBC spent the day telling us he wanted to stop the count and thus ‘democracy’…but that’s not what he said at all…‘We want all voting [after the supposed cut-off] to stop…’
Later he said that GOP observers had been stopped from doing their work in counting halls and they had to go to the court to allow the to carry on their work…and the court agreed.
The BBC’s Anna Walker had an extraordinary interpretation of his words…she said that if you had listened very carefully to what he said he was saying that GOP observers had been stopped from observing…yeah and?….but, she insisted, that just wasn’t true….Walker told us she had seen observers, escorted by police and carrying court orders [lol], enter the buildings…..ermmmmm?? Yeah….but only because they had to go to court, as Trump said, to get those court orders to force the Democrats to allow them into the building!
The BBC’s narrative, I say the BBC’s but of course it is the exact same narrative that the Democrats spin, is that Trump has been aggressively polarising and divisive and his actions have undermined democracy and stability and trust in the political system much to the pleasure of Putin and China.
But of course that is a pretty outrageous lie as is the claim that Trump legally contesting the result of the election is in any way exceptional or damaging to US democracy….US democracy allows these legal challenges…they are not outside the constitution or in anyway invalid.
What is noticeable is the complete absence of any comparison with how the Democrats reacted in 2016 when they mounted a four year campaign to overturn the result of the election and to oust Trump by any means possible including using fake ‘intelligence’ fabricated by the democrats themselves…genuinely doing Putin’s work as they used his helpfully provided dodgy dossier to try and smear Trump…not to mention to impeach him….or the utter contempt they had for Trump voters….those old Deplorables.
Then there’s Black Lives Matter….the Democrats used what is essentially a marxist terrorist group as their very own proxy militia to try and undermine Trump’s Presidency and mount a coup….massive rioting, cities burning, people being killed, businesses trashed and the police under attack…all with the explicit approval of Demcorat politicians…..and the BBC tells us it is Trump encouraging violence, division, polarisation and the destruction of democracy.
Jim Naughtie shamelessly used his programmes to trash Trump….the one on election day wheeled in a Trump hater to excrete a torrent of abuse and toxic lies about Trump with of course no disputing any of it by Naughtie…but then why would he as it’s all too familiar stuff from the BBC itself….as Naughtie proved today when he told us Trump’s legal challenges were ‘an attack on democracy’…never mind perfectly legal and within the constitution…and surely in fact part of the process to make sure democracy is actually done. Naughtie tried to get support for his view from a person doing some of the counting suggesting to her that ‘You must be upset to see your integrity thrown into doubt for political reasons [er…it’s an election Jim] from ‘the Top”
She replied that no…it happens every election….but that didn’t stop Jim, he had more….Trump was dangerously sowing distrust in government and spreading division and polarisation….well…see above….who exactly is doing that? It ain’t Trump.
The BBC wheeled in Francis Fukuyama to keep such narratives spinning…he told us that Putin and Xi Jinping would be overjoyed to see the chaos that results from ‘democracy’ and would use it to bolster their own regimes and positions…..Yeah….Putin would have loved the fact that a few well placed lies completely destabilised American politics, the fabric of the nation and the ability to govern at home and abroad…..a state of affairs brought about by a cynical and opportunist Democrat Party ably assisted by most of the media including our very own BBC…..instead of trying to support and enable good government and unite the country they instead spread hate, division and chaos, sowing distrust and dischord for their own cynical and opportunistic ends regardless of the cost and suffering to the American nation and its people.
Finally is Tim Davie alseep at the wheel? Justin Webb has written a hardcore anti-Trump piece in the Mail that expresses disdain and contempt for him and his voters, spins all the sins noted above and oddly makes no mention of Black Lives Matter….

[hmmm…shocking….er but…the BBC was utterly sure that there was child killing paedophile ring in Westminster within the Tory Party]…. some of the President’s backers are unhinged.’
When do you ever hear such language about those who fill the ranks of BLM or Antifa or indeed the fringes of the Democrat Party….such as Pelosi?

But do they know that Trump’s business has a Chinese bank account?’

And Webb somehow fails to mention that Trump doesn’t want US business to cut ties with China….he signed a trade deal in January lol….he wants US business to stop exporting US jobs to China….his Hotel business having a bank account in China is a complete irrelevance…not as if you can have your hotels in New York if you’re catering for tourists in Beijing…not unless you live in Webb’s very own BBC ‘parallel universe’.
The BBC’s coverage of the Trump Presidency has been marked by a torrent of dishonesty on an industrial scale, prejudice, bias, misinformation and black propaganda….as well as open support for those who wished to mount a violent coup against ‘America’, its systems, its values and its people.
