Midweek Thread 7 October 2020

Do you notice how those people and things the BBC approve of get uncritical coverage – eg Obama and the EU . Yet something or someone the Biased Far Left BBC disapproves of – President Trump and Brexit – received unrestricted criticism and condescension- without reference to their democratic legitimacy or otherwise?
This site bears witness every day . Defund the BBC now .

Seems it was suggested that Don ‘debate’ Max Headroom in his bunker virtually, but failed to comply.

Imagine the current media estate with access to all their toys in such a scenario?

Saying ‘no’ will be universally panned, by actually is a sign of strength.

I am fed up with the world being run by pea brains like Sopel, Tonenails, Morgan, Burley, Acosta or, Seltzer.

Especially when, in the US, the ‘impartial’ mods appear drawn from a fetid pool they belong to.

I know lots of chums here like football, so don’t want to get in their way, but as I don’t ever watch the ‘game’, I just take another view. What worries me, is the BBBC have bought contracts with the big clubs to film their games, and as they’re not being ‘played’, we’re just paying for absolutely nothing!

        No change there I suppose…

Surely the kids’ parents could get them to actually do something, like go for a bike ride, find some conkers, etc.?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about the National Trust planning to modify their information on some of their Historic properties that may be have been linked, however tenuously to British colonial activities many years ago. I personally took the step of cancelling my membership and sending an email to tell them why.

With no great satisfaction I now read:

Coronavirus: National Trust redundancy plan puts 1,200 jobs at risk

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-53585007

I’m pretty sure they have probably suffered some losses due to the pandemic but at the same time I can’t help but wonder how many folk like me have walked and affected their viability and that this virus message covers it up?

My guess is that most NT visitors and thus the NT income stream are paid-up, regular subscription members or even legacies in wills etc. so you would assume that the income stream at this point wouldn’t be overly affected even if actual visitor number dropped.

Play with fire for brownie virtue points and you might get burnt!

I half hope that the lady who replied to my email in a pretty haughty superior tone is maybe one of the 1,200….

“He knows in a virtual debate he would be muted 99% of the time for his constant interruptions ????“

Indeed. Hence placing things in the hands of the guys with the faders…. not a good idea.

“His bully power might be weakened by a virtual debate cause the moderator can mute his interruptions. That must be terrifying to him.“

Now imagine your leader is facing national foes who do not have fade sliders?

Just watched the VP debate . The coloured girl – nothing but a snake oil seller – a lawyer – so lies for a living . She wasn’t very good and was given an easy time by the moderator who didn’t pull her up on swerving questions – such as the health of Biden and whether they have talked about her taking over .

Also – Biden won’t ban fracking – which hanged on the word ‘banned ‘. – severely restricted more likely …..

On the other hand Mr Pence pretty forensic in his conduct – I can guess the response of the MSM .

Obviously some of their staff would like to, but the BBC can’t openly support the Socialist Workers Party, and therefore they attempt to take there beliefs underground, firstly supporting Black Lives Matter U.K., and then”Show racism the red card”.

Both BLM UK, and SRTRC are SWP fronts, and so what the rest of us mere saps need to do, is constantly call out these creatures that the BBC covertly support, in an attempt to embarrass them.

Is it possible to embarrass the doctrine of most Beeboids?…

In the DM today they showed a chart with the covid infection locations where the virus is being spread.

As we all on here know, mostly it’s in universities, care homes, hospitals and at home with pubs, restaurants and hospitality establishments being the cause of less than 4% of covid infection transmission.

There’s a huge amount of focus on this very small percentage. When will the government tackle the other 96% of the infection transmission places.
If the complete hospitality section in England was closed down I don’t think the infection numbers would drop. More likely they would rise with people finding unregulated alternatives.

Mind you, I think it’s all a load of tripe anyway. With all the false positives and those being found to have some kind of virus (but have no symptoms) the numbers are almost meaningless.

Look after the vulnerable by all means but let the rest of the population get on with their lives and get everything open again.
Just like Asian flu and Hong Kong flu, this one will soon enough disappear and as for this second wave, it’s ranked somewhere in the 20’s as cause (with covid) of death, way behind the real killers which are now going untreated in so many places.

    My solution:
    Protect the very vulnerable.
Use the empty nightingale hospitals for covid only.
Keep all covid patients out of general hospitals and don’t seed the old people’s homes and hospices with them (again)
    Everything else, back to normal.

TPA report on BBC Scotland…. Performance related bonus all round: (no doubt).
As usual, the BBC Annual Report was a treasure trove of information – the Express unearthed the woeful viewing figures for the new BBC Scotland channel. The paper reports, “The corporation’s BBC Scotland channel costs more per viewer but seems to have the least engaged viewers. Operating on an annual budget of £32 million… the channel reaches just 18 percent of Scots with an average viewing time of 90 mins, each week.”

To analyse that a little, Over an entire week the Scottish listener spends around 13 minutes (a day on average) before deciding its BBC bollocks again. That leaves time only for the BBC news headlines on the SNP to digest. Fame has its limits for Nicola Sturgeon.

Another little gem: BBC and the ‘Woke’ ideology they endorse:.
Headed: Taxpayers shouldn’t be funding woke ideology
Writing for ‘ConservativeHome’, our political director James Roberts took aim at “woke ideology” that is increasingly funded by taxpayers. We previously exposed the huge sums of public money given to lobbying organisations but unfortunately, things don’t stop there. As James writes:

“In 2018, we estimated that the Equality Act alone (which spawned a great deal of this diversity doctrine) would cost the taxpayer £49 million annually by 2020. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are government jobs aplenty for these cultural commissars: everything from Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Specialists at UK Research and Innovation (£49,708pa) to Head of Inclusion at Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (£47,544 – £53,459pa).”

    • Ian Rushlow says:

In June, three ‘gay’ men out for a drink were stabbed to death in broad daylight in Reading. The alleged perpetrator was Khairi Saadallah, a Libyan refugee recently released from prison, inevitably known to the authorities, with a conviction for racially aggravated assault and who was subsequently reported as having previously made homophobic remarks (“In my country, disgusting people like you would be beheaded”). By many accounts, it was possibly the most serious homophobic attack in Britain ever. But in the MSM there wasn’t even a hint as the possible motive. In fact, even the so-called ‘gay’ charities and press went out of their way to under-report the incident and not mention homophobia. Problem was: it didn’t fit the narrative and in the intersectionalist hierarchy, homosexuals are lower down in the pecking order than certain other groups.

The BBC: words from people who ‘thought’ they might die make front page news, whereas those who really did die are airbrushed from history before their bodies are even cold.

Just reading up a bit about current transport usage and juxtaposing the amount of cycling (2%) and car use (78%) with the cretinous car-hating, virtue-signalling policies of various council transport departments.
Along the way came across the attached graph of railway use from their invention to the present.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rail_transport_in_Great_Britain#/media/File%3AGBR_rail_passengers_by_year_1830-2015.png

When nationalised, rail use declined by 25%.
Since privatisation, rail use has increased (coronavirus excepted) by over 100%.

If ever there was a simple demonstration of the abject failure of socialism then this is it. Strangely the Corbynites did not reference this information at the last election.

There was a time when lots of men cycled. They did it while wearing raincoats, but then they only cycled a couple of miles maximum to work.

Their wives did most of the shopping, walking less than a mile or so to the shops, each carrying a shopping basket. Greengrocers would pile loose vegetables into these baskets with perhaps a layer of newspaper in between.

Cycling will never be viable for mass transport until we go back to living that way. (We could start by sending all the female MPs back to the kitchen!)

In addition, the living:work distance has changed dramatically. Most workers at the time of nationalisation would have walked or cycled or bussed to work. Now, Beeboids commute by train or ‘plane from Scotland to work in BHouse! On top of all that, in the IT everyone-connected-all-the-time-era, it is possible to work on a train but not on a bike or in a car and difficult in a bus, especially on London’s roads.

Between BS, Lewis and the rest of the Newsnight team, the bbc could probably speak at their national audience one to one on this basis for about £10 grand a bellow.

Do I understand from that, Guest, now the fires have dampened down in the autumn mists and rain that the rioters are back in training for 4 November 2020?

      What has happened to Oregon?

It used to be a ‘nice’ State. California without LA, Hollywood and the Slebs*.

Now, Oregon appears to be in a state.

Being in the US, they don’t need colour licences, either.

        Sorry, ‘of color’.

Again my views on peroxide confirmed.

In fairness, it’s probably because referring to someone as “him or her” who now want to be referred to as “they” is now likely registered as a “hate crime” !!!!

Oh , and nothing to do with the BBC stoking division 24\7 !!

Govt. respose: no plans to abolish the postal vote system in its current form (of course not, their handlers would never allow it).
