Weekend Thread 4 July 2020

As a little injection of normality takes place – let’s see the angle the BBC take . supportive ? Critical ? Judging by the way it has been undermining the national effort for four months – based on the anti brexit Project Fear Model -the BBC will seek out the worst of things -as decent people try to get on with their lives .

Talking of moves to get rid of the Welsh Assembly. The Witan Deira (Yorkshire Parliament) last meet in 954, to vote to join in union with England after a nasty incident with a Norwegian called Eric carrying a Bloody Axe.

Welby is also known to be considering ordering York Minster to remove the statue of Constantine the Great, outside of York Minster. Proclaimed Emperor in York in 306, Constantine converted the Roman Empire to Christianity, but obviously being a member of the Roman elite, he owned slaves, some Deiran slaves, some the original Slavic slaves.

      • Richard Pinder says:

Two verses from St Paul in the New Testament – Ephesians 6:5 and Colossians 3:22 – call on slaves to be obedient to their masters. Ephesians 6:5 “Slaves, be obedient to them that are your masters” “with fear and trembling”. Colossians “Slaves, obey in all things your masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord”.

Justine Welby is obviously considering whether to burn older versions of the Bible with the words “Slave or Bondservant” in them, instead of the word “Servant” in modern Bibles.

Also, Welby will obviously be considering renaming St Paul’s Cathedral, Dome of the Crescent Moon Multifaith Temple. The Ruling Khan of Londonistan, Sadiq Aman Khan and his Police Chief, a Lesbian called Dick, will agree. Defender of all the Faiths and Patron of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, Prince Charles, will also agree.

Note: (1) St Paul’s Cathedral is thought to have been built on the site of a Roman Temple dedicated to Diana, whose symbol is a Crescent Moon.
and (2) Welby, Prince Charles and the Lesbian called Dick, are also thought to be dedicated to the Western Cultural Imperialist ideology of Multiculturalism and Multifaith ideology.

If there are lessons to be learned from the Pandemic then top of the list must be these two:
      1. Indirect, stealth and hidden taxes are a failure and should be scrapped, and,
      2. In a small geographical spread, devolved Parliaments are a waste of time and money and an obstacle to concerted quick action to deal with anything, especially a Pandemic health threat.

Our doctors knew this but mostly have refused to use it. Unforgivable.

Threads were open for a week or more in those days and were usually quieter during weekends. (No one posting from computers while at work!!!) There might often be a very worthwhile discussion between registered members about a subject.

On one occasion – can’t remember whose Blog – it was about the UK Government policy on drug enforcement. The conclusion reached was that certain groups – lawyers, Crown Prosecution Service (oh, hallo Sir Keir, didn’t see you there), Prison Service, Probation Service, Social Workers and charities (Liberty – oh, hallo Shami, I didn’t see you lurking there) all had a vested interest in some restrictions being continued.

Wholesale liberalisation of drug laws would end a lot of gravy trains and not just for criminals.

Preferential rates for bulk buying and all that. As I recall, it was more of an aside than a point being made so what’s missing?

Would I be correct in saying that the BBC first decide on a narrative for a given issue and then follow narrative based reporting for that issue whenever it appears after that?

That the BBC is biased is beyond doubt. It is often an in your face obvious and confrontational bias.

That nothing is done about it suggests that there is no significant political will to change it. This suggests that either politicians are afraid of it and want to pander to it, or they see that it has a net benefit to them.

At some point we need to do something about it. This requires organisation.

It is clearly designed to activate and energise British children to go on marches in support of BBC approved activism, in this case Black Lives Matter. Note there is zero reference to social distancing and the on-going coronavirus pandemic in the text. Notice also the two links in the text: one takes children to an article on Black Lives Matter and the other to the CBBC Special Programme on US protests and racism.

Although Derek Chauvin broke the two meter social distancing rule. Its not yet clear that Chauvin is a racist or that the killing was murder. So it looks like the BBC are full of emotionally hysterical morons trying to stir up a Nazi style show trial of Derek Chauvin and a Race War, while at the same time trying to get Blacks to kill each other by getting them to infect each other with Covid-19.

Also, due to Martin Luther King’s ideal of non-violence, the reaction to his killing was less violent than that of George Floyd, even though it was obviously a murder. Also, James Earl Ray and George Floyd were the criminals, but unlike the police officer Derek Chauvin, James Earl Ray was obviously a racist and a murderer. Also unlike George Floyd, Martin Luther King was not a criminal killed during an arrest on suspicion of using a $20 bill at a market.

All this seems to make the BBC look like its trying to denigrate the memory of the assassination of Martin Luther King.

How Darren Grimes should have responded to a complaint about David Starkey:

Darren Grimes has just issued a response, in which he says: “I appreciate you had reservations about the accebtability of his statement relating to Africans in Africa and the United Kingdom. The BBC has posted this divisive and racist story on their website today at 0.40 am Saturday 4th July – headlined as World News and as US & Canadian News, but I expect it also to get headlined shortly onto the BBC Newsbeat webpage (aimed at British youth 16 – 24) and onto the main BBC news page:

    2020-07-04-0245-World-Story.jpg
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/newsbeat-53284807/independence-day-what-does-fourth-of-july-mean-to-black-americans

As always the story is constructed by interviewing a few activists with an agenda with the wording inferring that this represents the view of all “black Americans”, making this yet another propaganda piece by the BBC.

    • Richard Pinder says:

What does the Fourth of July mean to black Americans?

I agree with the BBC that it was a sad day for those black faces who were loyal to the British Empire. But some did escape to Canada which was still loyal to Britain. So it wasn’t that bad.

But come to think of it, I actually switch off the BBC every time I see a White face, so cannot be racist.

Like my 2020 Yorkshire Calendar, I prefer pictures of the Countryside, Steam Engines, the Moors, the Humber Bridge, York Minster, Knaresborough, Beverley Minster and Whitby. But like my TV Guide and all those adverts, the BBC is obsessed with pictures of peoples faces. The White faces remind me of left-wing middle-class thugs who turn violent because they don’t agree with you on Brexit. While the Black faces on the BBC remind me of those uncivilised inner-city shit holes you have to go through to get to the countryside beyond. Black faces also make the BBC and those Adverts look down market and cheap, especially those faces that look like mad grinning and girning gollywogs.

On Toady this morning at 0710 the whingeometer and *s***stirometers’ were cranked up to max.

First up, Justremainin Webb interviews a pub landlord. Should be a good day and the rather erudite landlord sounded like a ‘can-do’ sort of guy, the antithesis of the BBC.
But Remainin was more interested in lining him up to criticise the failure and non-availability of the Track and Trace app. ‘Other countries have got it’. He’s a landlord , for God’s sake, not the Google IT director. Well done to the landlord, who refused to take the bait. Surprise, surprise, they lost the link soon afterwards.
Immediately next up, Mischal useless Hussein interviews three parents about their kids going back to school. One of them had FIVE children. They were all, needless to say, ‘worried’. Worried about everything. Keen to mention all sorts of problems about going back to school. Keen to be worried about the the lack of schooling when not at school. Make your minds up !!!!! I got the impression they could be back on next year whingeing about how their kids are a year behind where they should be and demanding more government help, unremitting gloom.

For further proof of maintaining the biased, anti-government, doom-and-gloom agenda, earlier they interviewed a barber who last year cut Boris’s hair in his constituency. S***-stirring as ever, but the barber hadn’t read the script. The interview ended
Barber – ‘ he (Boris) seemed like a nice man
Mischal Hussein – ‘thank you very much’
And now straight over to the weather.

Speaking of hair, and the whingeing of ‘culturally appropriation”, there has been moaning of corn rows seen on white heads (for the uninitiated they are small tight plaits that black children and women have). Well, having been to the West Indies, black women can be seen making a living from doing corn rows on visiting tourists – even I partook, so its rich that blacks are condemning blacks from being able to make a few pence every day to survive.

I don’t usually bother with Formula One (boring beyond belief) but it was on when I visited a mate yesterday afternoon. His telly seems to be on 24/7 and it remained on in the background as we chatted. I occasionally glanced at the screen as one driver after another was being interviewed. All of them wearing the now ubiquitous face nappies.

They were all obediently complying with the two metre rule. Some of the drivers, fresh from their time trials, weren’t only wearing masks they still had their helmets on. Bloody hell, they looked like some new and idiotic character from Star Wars… Daft Vader…

However, what caught my eye wasn’t the announcers and drivers, chatting, it was what was happening in the background. People were wandering about, completely unconcerned and seemingly unaware that they were on camera. Sauntering about, some with masks, some without, standing within inches of each other. One young rascal had the mask on top of his head. Is this some new fangled design to stop Covid from entering through the cranium, I wondered.

I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Matt Hancock and SAGE suggested we all start wearing tinfoil hats next.

    And you know what?
    Most people would do it…

One would think that with an enormous public debt mountain, private businesses laying off staff, youngsters going without education and racial tension bubbling away, it might at last be a good time to get back to some normality – whilst the statistics tell us the lethality of this virus thing is almost spent.

But no, not, according to the BBC.

An interesting and I would say emblematic gripe from the North London metro liberals is that they are none too keen on pubs reopening.

See here how they lionise and load praises on a landord who doesn’t want to… landlord?

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53271605

‘We cannot in good conscience open the pub’

“…when contracting a deadly virus is still possible under these guidelines”

Nice poke at the Government there. Deadly virus… oh the humanity! Is he seriously saying these semi-supersticious authoritarian guidelines are too lax?

‘The government has given pubs in England the go ahead to reopen from 4 July if they follow a strict set of social distancing rules, but last week the Tollington’s manager, Martin Whelan, posted a message on social media announcing it would stay closed.’

It’s not made clear exactly what this chap’s problem is but I could hazard a guess that he has judged that the daft new regulations to be imposed on drinkers are too onerous to allow for a happy and profitable reopening just yet.

Which is not the same as claiming it’s because of virus fears. That’s an excuse in my opinion. What do you think?

I did have to smile at the supposed customers he has (on Twitter) who are happy his pub is closed and so presumably don’t want to be his customers!

‘The decision was met with a flood of support on Twitter with customers praising it as a “wise” and “courageous” decision. Only a handful were scornful, urging them to be less cautious and open up.’

So, according to the BBC that’s decided then. Twitter rules!

And of course the issue is an oppositional trump card. You have no skin in the game. If all goes well you say nothing. If on the other hand there are problems you criticise like crazy.

work out why Portugal should be on a restricted travel list as far as Covid-19 is concerned. You would think with a former North America Editor presenting on the programme that the years that JustRemainIn Webb spent in the US might just have taught him a little about South America. Especially with all those well-to do kids from Brazil coming up to the US to go to college there in the good ol’ USA.

    But no.

Brazil may be a big and independent country now, but the old colonial ties still exist with Portugal. And Portugal has other ties, not least with the south-eastern part of the African continent that is now facing a big hit from Covid-19.

Of course, in the Beeboid hive mind ‘colonial’ no longer exists.

That must explain it. No links despite the BBC’s penchant for world-wide travel.

TOADY Watch #2 – Did I hear a hint of

relief in Mishal’s voice that the UK is not ‘about to be swamped by’ three million Hong Kong Chinese? It seemed a little bit, just a teeny bit, like she was rather anxious about that.

    I wonder why?

Mishal asked two (or was it three? think maybe it was) questions on the subject. Is it unreasonable to take that as a measure of personal concern? Or was Mishal just concerned about the housing crisis or extra Covid-19 infections being brought by travellers to the UK?

Just an interesting snippet that needs thinking about…
The geezer who took a pee in Parliament Square gave himself up to police, was named, shamed, and roundly criticised by the media…rightly so… His case was rushed through the courts, he was tried, sentenced and imprisoned for two weeks.
Phew, they didn’t waste any time

    Meanwhile…

The bloke who helped lob the Colston statue into the sea has been found, after four long weeks. He’s been “cautioned”. There’s no tabloid outrage. There’s no prison sentence. There’s no naming and shaming because he’s been allowed to keep his anonymity.

Um, can’t quite put my finger on it…

“The geezer who took a pee in Parliament Square …”

It was also a set up. Reporters and BLM activists knew that public toilets were closed and knew people would have to pee somewhere. They got their victim and their national news story by waiting next to easily overlooked obscure memorials that people would pee next to that provided a little bit of cover.

Of course this sort of thing happened all around the country at the various BBC approved Black Lives Matter marches with their graffiti, police taunting, vandalism, toppling of statues and monuments. But we didn’t get a similar story because that was not part of the BBC narrative.

Interesting how many ‘diverse’ reporters we now get on the BBC, interesting that they get the bulk of the stories on race issues [or non-issues whipped up into a shitstorm by race provocateurs….like the BBC]…Mishal Husain is nearly always the Today ‘Muslim’ reporter and BLM reports get Bame reporters. The white BBC reporters are bad enough but the Bame ones are even more bigoted and biased in their language and opinions…not ‘news’.

Darren Grimes has been, once again, seriously maligned by the BBC, this time by Rajini Vaidyanathan who claimed Grimes had said his interview show was…

‘”a safe-space for racist and homophobic views”‘

Now anyone sensible would know he would never ever have said that…for a start he is gay….but he’s not going to label his own channel in those terms even it was true.

Clearly this was a BBC reporter wanting to say this in order to delegitmise and demonise the show.

    Grimes says…

It may well be that it is in part related to his part in the #DefundtheBBC campaign[the BBC will fight tooth and nail to stop this and will try to define those pushing this idea as Far-Right, racists and homophobes…oh look, they’ve started already]…but the main reason for the BBC to do this is much more serious.

It’s part of a full-on campaign, one they’ve run for years, to smear anyone, politician, commentator, campaigner, vlogger or even huge social media corporations like Facebook, that they deem in any way opposed to the BBC’s worldview as Far-Right, racists, Islamophobes, bigots, stupid, and enemies of democracy, equality and justice.

This is part of the BBC’s attempt to shut down and completely silence right-wing voices by weaponising certain issues and demanding everyone support them and if not you’re a racist or any other of the smears the BBC labels you with. Just look at what the BBC’s Nihal and Amfo both said….if you don’t recognise or accept what we are saying then you are the problem…you are racists….this is the BLM message…’silence is violence’…you get it shoved down you’re throat by the BBC…here’s the BBC insisting you actively jump on the BLM bandwagon…

    Not-racist v anti-racist: what’s the difference?
‘There’s a big difference between being not-racist and being anti-racist. I know it doesn’t seem like it. I know that both of these things seem equally good, but they’re not.’

Er…no…absolute rubbish, rubbish designed to force you to voice support for their cause…if not you’re a racist.

However if you’re ‘not racist’ that would surely mean you actively don’t do anything racist….so you’re not a racist….I don’t go out on the streets demanding we stop burglary or rape or assaults and yet I’m pretty sure I’m against all those things.

This is a ‘game’ designed so that you can never win as Douglas Murray notes…

‘The central assertion of White Fragility is that all white people are racist. White people who are aggrieved at being told that they are racist are said by DiAngelo to be demonstrating ‘white fragility’. Which is further demonstration of racism. All of which leaves white people in their entirety in that conundrum faced by witches facing a dunking in the village pond. It is a game of DiAngelo’s creation, which once engaged in cannot be won. Except by her, obvs.’

And here we have part of the BBC’s campaign to destroy Facebook which it perceives as firstly helping to win Brexit and thus must be punished, but also a place where freedom of speech actually might be allowed [however limited]….and the BBC can’t have that…the BBC has run a continuous campaign to demonise Facebook and undermine it…the BBC not liking that free speech element but also the fact that so many people received their news from there and not from the BBC, the BBC wants to keep its dominant strangle-hold on the news and the narrative and thus what people perceive and think [Hence the BBC fully supported Leveson in an attempt to shut down what it saw as the right-wing Press]

    And they hope….

    Could a boycott kill Facebook?

The BBC’s attack on Grimes is serious enough as it is on a personal level but it goes far, far deeper than that…this is part of an all-out campaign to delegitimise, discredit, smear and slander a whole section, a very large and probably the majority, of opinion in this country and worldwide…it is trying to portray such views as toxic, polluting the minds of people with racist, Far-Right, bigotry that is also homophobic, sexist and Islamophobic.

The BBC spins a narrative that the biggest and most dangerous problem we face is Far-Right violence and terrorism….here’s yet another example from just a day ago…

    TikTok’s Boogaloo extremism problem
‘Welcome to TikTok, a place designed for fun and dancing that has a dark underbelly….the Boogaloo Bois, perhaps the most troubling movement to have emerged in the US recently. Broadly it is an extremist, libertarian militia that is deeply distrustful of government and prepared for a civil war. They are almost always heavily armed.’

This is the same BBC that cheers and fully supports an extremist movement that is trying to destroy America and Britain, literally, that wants to set up a hard-core Marxist state in both places, that wants to start a race war as part of the plan to destabilise these nations….and is openly advocating violence on the BBC itself and quite clearly is using violence to enforce its demands…the BBC not at all concerned that the BLM ‘invaded’ cities and took them over, with the collaboration of Democrat polticians, and set up heavily armed militias to control and ‘police’ those areas….many deaths resulting, and of course no say in this for any of the residents and businesses in those areas.

Far from being a problem, armed, racist, militias violently seizing control, the BBC supported them with positive reports, even mocking Trump as he denounced the takeovers saying he would take action if the Democrat Mayor wouldn’t.

The BBC has a long history of supporting terror and anti-British extremism…the IRA, the Islamists and of course the Corbyn regime…Jews in Britain living in fear but the BBC helped cement Corbyn in place by underplaying and ignoring his extremism.

The BBC refuses to comment on the BLM’s extremism, its political ambitions which are its real motivation using race as the Trojan Horse….note how the BBC hid criticism of BLM’s politics by prominent sportsmen [including black ones] in the depths of its sport pages…not its news page but buried on the niche Premier League page where relatively few people would see it. If the BLM had been a right-wing group you can be sure the BBC would devote its programming to censoring it and denouncing it at every turn….but as with Muslim terrorism[and the rape and abuse of thousands of young white girls] the BBC is prepared to look away and ignore the reality in order to push its anti-white, anti-Britain, pro-Black, pro-Muslim agenda…..classic example…Nish Kumar…got laughed out of town at a show for his racist whining and what did the BBC do? Put him front and centre of its programmes with a high profile attempt to ‘rub the Right’s nose in diversity’…..part of Blair’s immigration policy of course…to ‘brown Britain’.

The BBC is the most dangerous organisation in Britain, toxic, divisive and polarising setting race against race, generation against generation, religion agaisnt religion and ideology against ideology.

The BBC, charged under its Charter with promoting and maintaining citizenship and civil society does anything but….it promotes violence, disorder, division, destruction and destabilisation.

Cannon fodder for the Marxists. Their disposition and inclination toward violence, their volatility and arrogance and much else makes them superbly suitable for spearheading the Marxists aim of destabilising the West. That’s why the likes of Soros have and still are funding their flooding the West including the US. But, above all, they are too stupid to realise that they are being used for what they are. I’d call that a classic example of Racism on behalf of the Marxists wouldn’t you?

Funnily enough I am reading a biography of a police marksman who started his career during the late 70s Brixton riots with similar black criminals throwing bricks at them and looting shops.

He was accosted by an elderly West Indian who had lost the contents of his shop, and who shouted to him”this is your fault !”

He objected to that and the man clarified:

“you British police are too soft ! ! back home in Jamaica the police would have broken their legs”

Something of an irony, and proving his point, that as Darren Grimes said he wanted to provide a place where you could criticise certain views without being falsely denounced and labelled a homophobe, a racist or a Nazi, he gets called a homophobe, a racist and a Nazi…by the BBC which specialisies in ‘othering’ those whom it deems beyond the pale…and by Pink News which published a hate piece of its own about Grimes and which the BBC used as the basis for its nasty little hatchet job on Grimes…

Darren Grimes, a gay man, wants ‘homophobes’ to ‘come out of the closet’ and join his new website. Yes, he actually said this.

Of course that’s not what he said…he wants people falsely accused of being homophobes and racists to stop censoring themselves out of fear of losing their jobs and reputation because of organisations like the BBC that will denounce and label them worldwide as racist homophobes should they say anything the BBC et al doesn’t like.

    https://twitter.com/darrengrimes_/status/1279127205231108097/photo/1

The BBC’s explanation of its sinister character assassination of Grimes is that he called for people ‘labelled’ homophobic and racist to join him….thus giving the impression they were homophobic and racist….not explaining Grimes was in fact talking about those libelled and slandered not people who were genuinely racist or homophobic.

Let’s face it the BBC gives a safe working space to people whose own ideology, written in black and white, is homophobic and racist….and according to the Muslim Mehdi Hasan, have a ‘dirty little secret’… anti-Semitism….and an open secret…its homophobia and misogyny.

Pot calling kettle black [oops…that’ll have to go]…except of course the ‘kettle’ wasn’t guilty in the first place.

Some years ago the BBC with great fanfare announced that their journalists would not be allowed to write columns for other organisations. We all can see how that was dropped but never when or how, just a gradual slippage.

I presume most people looking at this site know of Unherd. I have read several or many interesting articles there by the likes of Douglas Murray and was surprised to see Giles Frazer amongst their contributors, but have sometimes even agreed with things he has written.

A couple of days ago I saw an article asking ‘Is Trump About to Quit?’ It was written by none other than Justin Webb. I am not sure how that fits with the BBC policy of their staff not writing for other organisations. Knowing from the days when I listened to Today there is little value to Webb’s analysis of American politics I only scanned the article. But it exemplifies what the BBC has done by politicising it’s news; reduced it to having no value.
