Rang up TV licensing today. They start off by saying they are recording your calls.

So I recorded it from my side too.

When eventually got through I was polite enough to say I was doing the same as they were. Person on the other end got pissed off. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she cut me off.

So a complaint has gone in. They tried to fob me off with not making a complaint. I insisted, its now a formal complaint and a SAR has gone in for their tapes of the recording.

Almost. The more costs you run up then the quicker they go bust.

I’ve been making a list as well. CEO of ITV and the emails and addresses of their top 10 advertisers. Each is going to get a letter saying sorry mate, I’ve stopped watching ITV because of the BBC. Bit tough on the woman running ITV, but the law is the law.

The BBC have broken the law on bias, so I’ve defunded them. Collateral damage means your advertising campaign on ITV goes the same way.

Perhaps if you campaigned to defund the BBC and force them to go subscription, you’ll get me back as a potential purchaser.

“The Premier League says its Black Lives Matter campaign is to send a message it is unacceptable to treat black people differently to anyone else – not an endorsement of a political movement.”

    Oh Really!

The Movement is not new. Its aims are clear, online and very political. The PL knew this well before a single player subserviently knelt.

So quick to kneel, yet just as quick to distance the brand as the tide turns.

The fickle, morally corrupt world that is football. Their particular BLM statement was always one of simple equality, apparently. Well, in that case why didn’t ‘White lives matter’, last weekend?

The premiere league clearly endorses the marxist campaign . It allowed the emblem and wording to be put on all shirts and stadium as well as players and referee staff going through that dumb pantomime at the beginning of each game to their collective insane shame .

If I had the money I would take out a full page advert in the newspapers, well those if any who had the courage to run it, of a screen shot of the BLM website setting out its organisational aims. Everyone in the country needs to know that it is a revolutionary group determined to wreck their lives, Black Lives is just a peg on which to hang their Marxist coat . I guess that many organisations are scared NOT to show their support for this bunch of Marxists. But they need to be reminded of what they are lending their name and brand to and their customers need to consider if they want to purchase from a company that supports overt Marxism.

The bbc cannot bring itself to criticize blm.

“But while ‘Black Lives Matter’ has become the slogan behind the protests, Black Lives Matter also exists as a global organisation, founded in 2013, with several goals including to advocate against white supremacy and police violence towards black people.”

The bbc only tell us two of the goals, no mention of ending our economic system, abolishing the police, end of the nuclear family etc.

You’d think the bbc were trying to hide something from us.

As for the cowards at the premier league, more interested in protecting the ‘brand’.

Might as well have had the socialist workers party printed on the shirts.

And believe me if they tried this nonsense when the stadiums were full there would be a awful lot of lifetime bans handed out.

Besides, all it does is to raise the hackles of people who are not Black. That is, Europeans, Asians, and Hispanics – the vast majority. I’m beginning to see this push back taking place ever more in public.

I complained to the Premier League re its support for Black lives Matter some weeks ago and got a very similar reply to the one quoted by Venutius via the BBC article.

I replied and patiently pointed out that BLM had been a political organisation and movement for some years, originated the Black Lives Matter slogan and are synonymous with it. Hence it is impossible for players to wear the slogan without implying support for the organisation and its politics as a whole. I ended by saying that the Premier League is clearly in breach of its own rules regarding political representation.

If the League couldn’t work out in advance what their BLM support was going to look like to the general public they must be staffed by idiots.

        Dear Dave Hedgehog,

I think you give the Premier League and the many of those earning a very good wage far from it far too much credit. They are all too quick to virtue signal at every opportunity – one reason I have stopped watching football on TV – most of the time it turns into a virtue-fest.
They are a bunch of pillocks on the gravy train of a product that sells itself to the punters. I will be finding more useful and enjoyable things to do with my time from now on than to listen to these idiots and their political opinions, causing damage and confusion. Most of the people on this website knew about the political position of BLM.

“I have been watching a programme called “The Luminaries” on BBC1”

I admire anyone who has ‘stuck with it’, one episode was enough for me, clearly no-one had put a shilling in the meter, as it was filmed almost in entire darkness, and again with the mumbling of the actors I had to resort to subtitles. That was aside from the “what the hell is going on?” storyline. I had high hopes but its another rubbish drama.

I recommend Perry Mason on Atlantic though.

      Brissles:

Apparently it is adapted from some sort of modern novel, which is no doubt unreadable, but the BBC have managed to create more confusion.

A magistrate is played by a French actor. Is this relevant? Were Frenchmen often employed this way in the British Empire? Is it some sort of colour blind casting, or am I meant to make something of it?

It’s not all bad news though, I have just finished watching every episode of New Tricks from first to last. I am pretty sure if a character there was black or French, it was because they were meant to be black or French. That’s obviously too straightforward for the BBC these days.

    • The General says:

Why do today’s producers of these series always mess about with timelines ? “The Luminaries” darts around the story making it impossible to understand what is going on , at what part of the story we are watching ,who the hell the various characters who suddenly appear are and what part they play in the plot.
These producers have read the whole story and presumably understand the plot, they spectacularly fail however to relate that to the audience.
When you read a novel do you ever begin by opening at a random page, reading the next two pages then randomly moving to another section either before or after that?
What on earth is wrong with following the timeline and plot from the beginning to the conclusion ? Maybe they think todays audiences won’t understand so it doesn’t matter anyway.

Towards the end of the last thread someone posted a Tweet from Patrick O’Flynn, former Ukip grandee.
I never listen to Radio 4 these days (blood pressure) but apparently Toady have been asking why the majority of police officers in our country are white. Phew, tricky one…

O’Flynn suggests that the BBC could be so immersed in their own distorted PC world view that they might not even know who actually lives in this country.

I honestly don’t think they do. These middleclass, lefty bubble dwellers feed off the effluence of their own propaganda. They rarely come into contact with real, white working class people. They enjoy chuckling over the knuckle dragging stereotypes that invariably pop up in dreadful BBC cop dramas. You know the sort of thing…the commander in chief will be some strident and capable BAME, usually female, barking orders to a bunch of inept white coppers. Tiresome and predictable.
And Beeboids might enjoy an episode or two of Eastenders, thinking it’s urban and gritty, but in fact it’s actually about as realistic as bleedin’ Star Trek.
The only time they meet us is when we’re driving their taxis or delivering their post. We are an alien species…

The brutal truth is the BBC and the rest of the lefty chattering classes despise the white working class. The left are disappointed in us because we’ve rejected their Marxism and their anarchy. We’re actually patriotic and they can’t forgive us for that.
There’s a repulsive shock jock, a really ugly brute, called James O’Brien, on LBC, who spews bile about Brexit, Trump and the Tories for three hours every day. He can’t get over the fact that his side always loses. These people can never win an election because we always see through them.

So, now they’ve got the idiots of BLM to use as cannon fodder. The perpetually aggrieved, thick as tree trunks, young blacks, that blame white society for their own inadequacies. If it wasn’t for slavery/racism, blah, blah, blah… Teachers and vast chunks of the media, particularly The Beeb are fomenting this dangerous delusion.

In the meantime the BBC seem to have forgotten that white Britain is of any relevance.

Perhaps they’ve also forgotten who pays the licence fee…

I agree with everything you say except the bit about ‘ we always see through them’ . If only that had been true way in 97 and we hadn’t put Blair in No10. The country would have been a very different place now. I’m afraid he and Brown , who I am convinced were cultural Marxists playing the long game, used the ten years of New Labour to do immense long term damage to this country by putting in place thousands of their supporters into key jobs in education, councils, civil service , quangos etc. These people aren’t accountable to the electorate and are largely unsackable, they form a liberal Blairite blob which still runs the country. This legacy army of Blairites can now subvert anything a government tries to do which they don’t agree with. Blair might have been gone for over ten years but his legacy is safe in their hands.

Comment on Test and Trace dream
Bottomline your pregnant daughter didn’t get pregnant off a train seat.
It was either when she alone with someone for 20 minutes
or on the off chance a spatula was involved.
    Likewise for Covid
Either you catch it by getting a slow viral load over 20 minutes
Or the quick route via someone coughing right in your face or onto your hand and then you jabbing your finger on your face.

Your Covid doesn’t go on to people you passed 1m away in the street nor those people who are in the shop with you for 2 minutes.. that’s Yellow Category
If you were in a room with a doctor or gas fitter for 20 mins they’d have been wearing a mask so I’d put them in the Yellow category, same for people on the bus.

If you were in your neighbours house inside for 20 minutes plus
then you could have given them a viral load.
Same for the person that uses a public toilet right after you ..That’s Amber Category people

    Those people you coughed on
and those people you share living/working space or meal with with they are the Red category. same for a taxi driver, cos anyone in the same car for 20 minutes plus even wearing a mask in too vulnerable to get a viral load off you.

    So if you get Covid
Your Contact list needs to have All the Red category people
and all the Amber category people

So a fancy app doesn’t need to track everyone you passed on the train station stairs for 1 second . It needs to know who you live or work closely with, and who you were with in the same room for 20 minutes with without a mask.
Blue tooth can’t really track that cos it doesn’t know who is wearing a mask nor whether a person is actually the other side of a wall from you.

Surely firms should get their employees to keep a daily diary of Amber contacts, cos most of the time it’s not going to be many.

I fear we are entering a new Dark Age and it will be fully with us sooner than many think.

Remember when Obama was elected? The BBC was crowing that the ‘down with the kids’ Obamba had leveraged ‘social media’ and now it would be impossible for the Republican party ever to win again? Google invented the term ‘fake news’ and Obama made it political.

Then along came Brexit and Donald Trump.

Social media had ‘swung it ‘ for those campaigns, the computer illiterate elderly had suddenly gone online and thrown away 40 and eight years experience respectively and been ‘influenced’ by Russian ‘bots’ as no righteous person would ever have voted against ‘remain’ or Hillary!

Trump got elected and started using ‘fake news’ and social media against the Marxist Mob and they were furious. It must never happen again.

So what do we see, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube bans. These ‘common carriers’ move from being mere channels, like a telephone company, to being de facto publishers. But more than that they are have become ‘book burners’ – let’s erase history, let’s pull down some statues, let’s just delete 14 years of content.

All of these ‘Silicon Valley’ organisations, started in the backroom, beacons of freedom, ‘putting it to the man’, have morphed into the authoritarian mob, there is only one orthodoxy anything else is heresy and will be destroyed. (I see that the Mozilla Foundation, that touts its independence from ‘big tech’ in the last few days has been dropping in ‘black’ and ‘lgbt etc.’ messages in its browser, what’s that about? Is it a coincidence that Google renamed itself Alphabet Inc. [LGBQT+]?).

Today I was speaking to what I always regarded as a sensible relative in Canada. Informed by CBS, she tells me that the USA isn’t a safe place because Covid-19 is rampant because ‘Trump’ didn’t believe in it. The BBC here has been putting out similar messages that it is all Johnson’s fault. (My feeling is that a disease more or less does what a disease does, especially if paracetemol and paper masks are your only weapon). New Zealand, all sheep and a million miles from anywhere, is OK because it is run by the Marxist Muslim prophet Jacinda Ardern.

Just see, there are three months to the US elections. Plugs will be pulled. One Folk, One Message, One government.

puritans who have never been taught to clean up after themselves and leave trails of litter and crap wherever they roam

You see the movie takes the micky out of the whole event an event that has been taken over as one of the BLGTQ events of the year and the BBC is so out of touch it doesn’t get satire…..And the central character isn’t BME or Gay so it didn’t tick many BBC boxes.

Half the town centre is still closed, whilst evidence is being gathered, despite dozens of witnesses being available. Some small victory for common sense with the Premier League officially distancing itself from BLM:

The group has grown into a fully fledged political movement, with opinions on everything from the economy to the middle east. And as such, football teams and organisations have no business endorsing such movements.

Also kudos to some of the players and pundits who realised that.

I don’t know about you but I’m finding the Leicester Lockdown rather amusing – or rather our friends at the BBC’s awkward stuttering attempts to explain the outbreak.

Our pal Nick Triggle, Heath Correspondent, ties himself in incoherent linguistic PC knots trying to protect BBC parti pris positions.

‘Leicester as a whole is one of the most culturally diverse areas in the country, with about half of its residents from ethnic minority groups’

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-53235709

See there how he confuses and elides culture and ethnicity. The point being Leicester is far from diverse. There are two distinct groups. Muslim Pakistanis and English whites.

    Poor old Humpty-Dumpty Triggley-Wiggley

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.” “The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”

New York City votes to cut $1BILLION from the NYPD budget – after cops clash with protesters outside ‘City Hall Autonomous Zone’ for a seventh day as demonstrators say the move is not enough

The New York City Council voted to pass the 2021 budget on Tuesday cutting $1billion from police funding
A majority of 32 lawmakers voted via teleconference to pass the budget minutes shy of the midnight deadline, and 17 voted against it
$484M will be cut from the department’s $6billion operation budget while another $354M will be shifted to education and social services
Mayor Bill de Blasio supported the $88.2 billion spending plan, but some critics said the cut wasn’t a billion dollar cut at all and merely shifted police functions
It comes amid days of protests and a week-long encampment established outside City Hall that is being called the ‘City Hall Autonomous Zone’, echoing Seattle’s CHAZ
Video footage captured violent clashes between cops and protesters ahead of the vote on Tuesday

According to Wikipedia, Lendl was 19 when he made his senior debut at Wimbledon.

John McEnroe was another one who played at Wimbledon as a teen. Indeed, he reached the semi-finals at the first time of asking, at age 18.

And comes from his collections of hundreds of FOIs he got from the BBC
Vine asked for £1000 to use for a memorial do, but the money wasn’t used
so instead of giving it back, Vine said he gave it to charity.

    • StewGreen says:

If the BBC was a private business, then the boss could hand out £1000 for a charity thing like fund a memorial dinner
And then if it turned out the dinner had already been paid for
the boss could say ‘OK donate the money to this other charity instead’
And he might well do that cos he’s claiming the money off tax anyway.
I can’t see how the BBC could do the same.

However I do hope Belfield isn’t being vengeful here.
I do hate it when people write someone off completely. IMHO Belfield does a lot of good stuff, but he does have a revenge thing going on with Vine over Vine ‘s 10 May tweet against him
..when Vine took anti-Belfield’s gangs line.
One aspect of the spat is that the StageBlog guy reads an email wrongly ..When Belfield says that the BBC’s legal department are handing the case he’s talking about that they are acting for the BBC presenter who withdrew accusations against Belfiend. The Stageblogguy reads it the other way that Belfield is saying he is setting a big BBC legal team on him. The StageBlogGuy plays the victim on that and of course the LGBT theatre community jump into back him up, cos they hate Belfield for being against “tickboxing”.
      It’s a rabbit hole .

The point to fact checking is to catch out minor untruths. Not big lies like socialism would be good for us. We don’t really care so much what politicians say, it’s more what they do that is important. Fact checking is essentially a low hanging fruit opposition political tactic, not really appropriate to an unbiased broadcaster – unless evenly applied across the political spectrum.

      • Up2snuff says:

AISI “not really appropriate to an unbiased broadcaster” that’s it, you’ve hit the nub, the BBC are biased otherwise they would not do it. A neutral news organisation would leave it to the Opposition and other Parties in Parliament and merely report the ‘He says, She says, He says, They say’ and leave it at that.

I think the BBC need the boost of ‘an upper’ (Purple Heart?) to get them going and so they have to have a pop at Trump or Bojo as a sort of starter pill.

The item is under the heading ‘Society’ (a new one for the BBC HP) and is news for England.

Funny, didn’t think we had deserts in England, ‘Green and pleasant land’ and all that and certainly not in an English city. Click bait worked. I discover that the city to get the zip wire is Liverpool!

Hows Leicester going on ? And didn’t I hear Bradford was one day off going into lockdown? Perhaps its because the posters didn’t warn the BME community of the risks.

Rapidly slipping down the BBC memory hole.

Quite a big and maybe important story isn’t it? Footballers and pundits shunning Black Lives Matter UK because of its political stances and even the FA sounding critical.

BLM, which is driving opportunistic attempts to smash society and British history and culture, is being challenged.

    Not by the BBC though.

Sky presenters refuse to wear the badge, black footballers question the direction and actions of BLM….

‘Gary Neville and Jamie Redknapp fail to wear Black Lives Matter badge as concerns grow about movement’s ‘ideology’
Neville, Redknapp, Kelly Cates and Patrice Evra were not sporting the badges during Sky Sports’ coverage of Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester United, despite the former trio having donned it previously.
Le Tissier’s unease about the movement’s aims were shared by former Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Karl Henry.

He tweeted: “I think the majority of the UK have now had enough of that organisation.

“A new inclusive and politically-neutral anti-racism movement to follow and get behind is much needed. Black people’s lives matter!

“The divisive #BlackLivesMatter organisation, however, DOES NOT.”’

An extraordinary set of statements….and yet the BBC ignores them, almost, not quite, completely.

    The BBC ran this story…

‘Premier League: Black Lives Matter campaign ‘not endorsement of political movement”

…but not on the front page, not on the UK page, not even on the Sports page….it was tucked away on the football page…and even now it has been ‘vanished’…if you want to see it you have to go to the Premier League page….so hidden away even more. Almost as if the BBC doesn’t want you to read that there is any criticism of BLM.

And even though it ran the story it was only way down at the bottom that they reported this quote from the FA….

‘ “We do not endorse any political organisation or movement, nor support any group that calls for violence or condones illegal activity.’

Curiously the BBC were more than happy to have BLM leaders on the Today programme and 5 Live urging their followers to riot and use violence to win their cause.

BLM seeks to delegitimise the whole of British history and to make us [whites] all complicit co-conspirators in slavery for which we will have to atone and make reparations.

This is of course the very same narative the BBC has pumped out for years.

The BBC is the most dangerous organisation in Britain….divisive, poisonous and racist.

I listened to the 45? Minutes … I don’t think we ll be hearing professor Starkey on the MSMBBC any time soon – or even – ever .

For anyone not wanting to listen – if I summarise

1The current Marxist movement is a displacement activity following the failure of Corbyn – Momentum using colour as a badge

2 blacks were okay until they adopted the animalistic American culture –

3 UK is importing America’s problems for no sane reason

4 hence going on about slavery as though we share the same issue with America

5 there’s no one willing to be conservatives – Tories only deal with money – not beliefs

6 the entitled white hates themselves

7 Higher education and the BBC has been taken over by the Marxists so Should not receive public money

8 there is still a quiet deep patriotism

9 people gave up on christianisty so replaced it with the NHS – Greta – Attenborough ( me Tony Benn said it was DIY shops)

10 The past is a different country – don’t import current values into the past …

11 the hard left like o jones are Totalitarians – only one view – or else

12 the remedy is to speak out against the imposition of silence by the Marxists …. blatantly ….
