Is that R4, promoting and co-ordinating BLM in the UK, under the pretence of reporting on ‘racism’?
You have to watch them, cos they’rte often pretending merely to be reporting, when actually they’re trying to whip up sentiment and get a UK BLM off the ground.
    Toenails…

What I find amazing is the fact that although the present government got into power with such a huge majority that it has not yet closed the whole biased outfit down ? I am sure that it would get the support of most of the Tory voters and others that do not want to be forced to fund Al Beeb .

Have avoided BBC for 99% of last month…watched a bit of Breakfast – Dan interviewing Mr Hancock – pathetic Dan Walker was simply reading from a script looking for gotcha – Hancock was good –
How big is the elephant in the Leicester room – so the increase is due to poverty (is it?) , difficulty with language (why?) the ethnic diversity (in which are the cases found?)..multiple people living in households (have fewer kids)
and if language is a problem – ask why? There is no excuse not to speak English after years of living here (not due to the men not allowing women out is it?)
Why is nobody asking is the real question – the above are correlations not causes – covid doesn’t transmit because you are poor and don’t speak English – it transmits because you are not following the guidelines – you are not social distancing, you are not washing your hands..what about culture….?
stop making bloody excuses BBC.. ask in which Ethnic group the outbreak is most severe…I think we all know…but the BBC just want to blame the Govt.

Then R4 – same old shite put to Hancock…BBC is a complete waste of time and public money

James – it’s that last 1% isn’t it ? The monster is so pernicious-
And as for Leicester —is it about to get the whole MSMBBC treatment with Myrie or that welsh bloke standing in front of something – thus journos spreading the bug back to other bits of Blighty ?

We won’t find out the reason for the infections – even if it is easily found due to the type and numbers of ‘locals ‘ turning up in the covid ward of Leicester royal infirmery . Fridays down the mosques must be – intimate ….

It wasn’t difficult on Flight Radar24 (Other plane-spotting apps are available) to track a steady number of flights landing at northern airports in the UK from Lahore during the weeks of lock-down.

But of course the science told us that the passengers on those planes were low risk… The same science that tells us wearing a face covering will now save us.

I’d also assume at least 50% of passengers from Lahore had to wear a face covering of some sort, as required by Mo.

The god awful Crace in the BBC newspaper listened to the PM on the soon to be defunct Times Radio Monday morning – in the Toady big interview spot – which was well executed …. maybe the government should use the new station instead of the BBC or the rest of them – despite a load of BBC droids acting the cuckoo there ….

Earlier, on Toady, I learnt that our ‘Worlds Most Trusted’ “has learnt” (a “source”) that there are no BAME members of police specialist teams like Dog Handlers (mentioned specifically) and some police “Federation” is trying to do all they can to ‘improve’ (?!) the situation.
There’s one word in the lexicon of the multiculturalists that we don’t hear often if at all. That’s ‘aptitude’. As my Dad (ex-WO2) used to say whilst pointing to his head, ‘if you don’t have it there, no one’s going to put it there’.
The quality of everything will drop precipitously if people are given jobs that they dont have the aptitude for but simply for the sake of ticking boxes.
So, the message is to all you BAME dog owners(?!) step forward and apply to be a dog handler for the police. As an aside, thinking about it, I have NEVER seen a black or asian walking a pet dog. Indeed, some of the latter see dogs as a delicacy.
    Nor have I ever seen a BAME hill/countryside walker………

      G
Yes I heard Cressida Dick on R4…is she really in charge of the Met? Apparently 20% of the Policeforce are BAME but she wants more? This is odd as 20% is far greater than the proportion in the country? Why is it that quotas only seem to work in one direction?
As you say G, the quality will drop if you just select by one factor – it dropped when they decided to prioritise by being a degree holder….and it always will when you just do the quota on one characteristic/factor.

Still Woke is what Woke does…..

off to work…no more BBC for a few days

My neighbour has just moved out.

Our postman has given me her mail as she has put an unofficial re-direction note on her door.

She, who has a TV, has been sent a brown ‘Action required immediately’ letter while I, without a TV, have had a white ‘legal occupier’, ‘Your attention is required’ letter from TVL!

TVL produces a more varied output than the BBC.

P.S. If one is an ‘illegal occupier’, one of the Occupy, XR or BLM group, can one get TV for free? Most likely yes.

Yet again, Tucker telling it like it is – almost alone among the US (and UK) broadcasters.

    – Violent mobs rampage while the authorities do nothing, so a few brave citizens protect themselves, their homes and their monuments.

    – Note the obnoxious privileged white student (natch!) accuse the ballsy NY woman of white privilege, and her robust riposte.

    – “This is not about race anymore, it never was, it’s about tearing apart the fabric of America.”

    – Trump enforces the law and the media get outraged.

    – A white couple dare to defend their home from the mob and the media and authorities attack THEM (the UK Guardian jumped on the bandwagon of course!).

Sorry for the long post but as some here may remember I emailed my local MP (Tory) on the Monday following the weekend of BLM desecration in the capital.

In summary I made points regarding the gathering whilst the country was in lock-down, the general violence, the BBC coverage and the abhorrent desecration of the cenotaph, especially so on the anniversary of D Day.

A written reply was received yesterday. I will summarize his response and my counterpoint.

Para 1 tells me the death of Floyd George was shocking and the footage deeply distressing. It finishes by informing me the police involved have been arrested.

Excellent. Thanks, so interested in the death of an American no-body here in the deepest darkest parts of west of England. How in any way is it relevant to this constituency or the wider country?

Para 2 provides me a short history lesson on American race relations but also acknowledges the scenes in London does nothing to further the goal of a truly equal society.

Indeed the Americans fought a civil war to abolish slavery and recently had a black president, so what’s going wrong there? Equal society, what does that even mean? Why did the polis stand back and allow the violence and vandalism?

Para 3 then goes on to update me on the sale of arms to countries (US) where they could be used for internal repression. Rubber bullets and the like and how he is pressing for the licences to be reviewed.

The largest arms producer on the planet isn’t going to lose sleep methinks. Perhaps he could pursue the Home Office to introduce those effects on UK streets instead.

Para 4, the longest, then goes into utter waffle about BAME, Race Relations, religious tolerance, the influence of Pritti Patel and other in government fighting racism.

At this point I gave up and crumpled the paper and launched into the bin.

I recovered it this morning to support this dit and will keep with the others in order to remind me NEVER to vote for these liberal buffoons again.

    Excess deaths news
#1 it’s a tinge, we had excess deaths WAY ABOVE the normal, and now we have got just a little BELOW normal
But #2 As we always said “you cannot die twice”
so in the case of Covid counting raw deaths was always a BS metric
Look at a whole year stats, if we were due to die in October and Covid got us in April, then the end of year death tally is still the same

    • StewGreen says:

Look at the top right of the graph
see how the current all deaths in BLUE just crossed the average ..GREY dotted line.
But see how a few weeks ago deaths were 10,000/week above average
So we have long way to go to catch up with that
It’s not like that blue line is showing 3,000/week less , yet.

I am still worried about total deaths in the U.K. in any year. Early on in Covid19 lockdown somebody produced the ONS statistics for deaths in a normal year; about 500,000. But roughly there are 70 million people in this country and roughly the average age of death is 70 years. Shouldn’t there be 1 million people dying each year? Where are the bodies?

        • StewGreen says:

Deaths today correspond to past population not today’s population
Since most of the population are under 50 they are not going to die next year.

These days we seem to have left the ability to reason behind us and we’re in a state close to permanent hysteria. Anything can set it off.

Firstly we had all the ludicrous hyperbole surrounding Brexit. Remainers were shrieking insanely about “cliff edges” and “economic Armageddon.” There was no reasoning with them.

As soon as that was done they turned their attention to the climate. Pictures of Greta appeared every day on the BBC. She was everywhere. Presidents, prime ministers and princes vied with each other to gain an audience with the diminutive sage. Every sentence was replayed to us as though some old testament prophet was imparting meaningful wisdom and we weren’t just listening to the incoherent ramblings a neurotic sixteen year old. We had mobs of pretentious greenies gluing themselves to pavements and setting up barriers on bridges. Some clambered aboard tube trains. It was truly pathetic…

Then we had the Corona catastrophe. Our over reaction to this unpleasant virus has been insanely off the scale. If we ventured out to take the dog for a walk some officious git would be curtain twitching and the police would send up a drone to warn us off.
ITVs mega gob, Piers Morgan, was in a permanent state of apoplectic rage, his numerous jowls wobbling like an unset blancmange, as he railed against “these pathetic morons” who were innocently enjoying the sunshine or walking along a beach. Dominic Cummings became public enemy number one…

Then we had the interesting development of the BLM “protests”…and Piers own pampered offspring taking part in these mass gatherings. Mobs of the blighters. No social distancing, standing cheek by jowl, the mob descended on London. Not a syllable of criticism from Piers, or from certain Labour MPs who became swept up with self righteous virtue signalling and suddenly found themselves with these violent louts.

We’ve left reason and intellectual scrutiny behind. We’re reacting to mere emotional whim. The louder someone shouts, no matter how stupid they are, they get listened to. We’re watching a mass, societal tantrum. Privileged, spoilt children, throwing their expensive toys out of their comfortably upholstered prams.
This pathetic, childish insanity has gone on for long enough.

    But I’ve got a question…
    Where are the adults?

Concerning all these historical statues that the wokerati want to pull down for any tenuous connection that they don’t fit in with today’s ‘values’.

I wonder what the likes of Dickens would think of comparing their values with today’s where tens of thousands of little girls are gangbanged, tortured, plied with drugs and alcohol by one lot of enrichers yet it’s almost accepted and very little is done about it apart from the occasional handful who pop up in the courts now and again but quickly disappear from the msm.

There’s lots of other stuff going on which is abhorrent and would render our earlier Brits speechless.

How would they compare their morals to the current blm crap.
They would think that the current situation needs some British law and order in the same way that the lawless outposts of the British empire needed straightening out. Things like suttee and slavery which the Brits civilised out of the primitives.
We could certainly do with some common sense law and order now.

If we could somehow imagine a reverse situation where a statue of, for example, afua Hirsch was about in the 17/18 century I think it would soon be chucked into a canal with her being such a prominent anti British shit stirrer (along with just about all the media like the bbc)

And of course they are asking the same questions in a different manner. Pathetic.

Absolutely ridiculous given that call centre work can easily enough be done from home.

FWIW our broadband was playing up on Friday to the extent that I tried to get in touch. All phone numbers are gone from their website and also from the Sky Box itself where it used to be listed. However I followed their online guide to speed up my internet and after going through each step, which wasn’t really a chore tbh, it asked if I had resolved the issue. When I clicked on no it gave me a phone number to call for actual human interaction and I’m not kidding when I say that the phone was answered more quickly than ever before when I’ve needed to call Sky, plus the lad I spoke to was knowledgeable and I got a result out of it.

On a side issue, only because I have a sport loving son at home I have a subscription to Sky Sports. Once he’s older and leaves home I’m ditching the lot and using the box as a Freesat one and investigating “other methods” of viewing the small amount of content that I get off Sky, namely a handful of American crime dramas. Seeing the Marxist BLM movement advertised regularly asa force for good, being made to feel ashamed of my whiteness, seeing trailers for the upcoming West Indies test being advertised from the side of the West Indies and bigging them up but not our team are not what I want to see nor is a BLM channel or thumbnails for BLM, Pride, Unfunny female comedy troupses etc on the Sky Guide home screen.Funny that, Sky were obviously racist for years before knee jerking to BLM but no one’s criticising them for it. The final nail for me was seeing 3 of the 4 contributors to the F1 Show last night all wearing what are obviously “standard issue” BLM and NHS badges. All except Damon Hill. Who instead had removed 2 photos from his office wall (probably photos celebrating his or father Graham’s successes) and replaced them with framed NHS and BLM logos. Pandering, patronising, cowardly and sickening. Along with half white Lewis Hamilton (who’s career has been built entirely off the efforts of a white support staff) bullying his team (who much more recently than any British historical figure accused of being a slaver used slaves to get their cars to front line troops in the last war) into painting the car black, I won’t be wasting any of my Sundays watching any F1 this year.

But now the whole of the BBC has adopted the agenda of

Classic racism from the BBC’s Clara Amfo in her rant about racism a while back….Darker skinned ‘Blacks’ don’t like lighter skinned ‘Blacks’….

    Here she goes….

‘RIHANNA, she is beyond proud of her blackness and she is also a light skinned palatable enough black woman that I knew most white people would listen to over me.

You must understand that I am a WHOLE BLACK PERSON.

So a ‘whole Black person’….does she mean ‘pure’ black, racially pure with no mixed blood unlike the mixed-race Rihanna?

    Sounds familiar.

The Aussie government thinks such beliefs are racist…Neo-Nazi even…

Examples of Racist Material on the Internet

‘Racial purity is also another principal concern of many sites. For example, the following image can be found on one site:

    example5.jpg

This same site promotes white supremacy and is strongly opposed to immigration.’

So Amfo is a racist…not just about white people but lighter-skinned Black people as well…..nothing new there for the BBC which seems to find it perfectly acceptable for its stars to abuse other Blacks either for their skin colour or for ‘acting white’….Lenny Henry attacking various people, including Will Smith, for ‘acting white’ as did Alvin Hall who accused various singers of not ‘singing black’ and selling out.

Pure, outright, unadulterated racism from black BBC ‘stars’….what they, and the BBC, seem to want is apartheid and segregation whilst at the same time complaining about marginalisation, lack of integration and acceptance

I’m confused as to why mixed race offspring always lean towards their blackness ie Lewis Hamilton. How does that make their white parent feel ? and do they feel antagonistic towards the white parent for actually mating with a black person, thereby making them feel guilty for giving their child a lifetime of alleged abuse ?

Knowing the world is not a very nice place, I’m never ceased to be amazed at the lack of intelligence shown when black and white procreate, that potential offspring won’t have a very good time of it.

‘Some people try to explain why Asians, and Asian-Americans, succeed so well in education and in the economy by some special characteristics that they have. That may be true, but their success may also be due to what they do not have – namely “leaders” who tell them that the deck is so stacked against them that they cannot rise, or at least not without depending on “leaders.”’

The BBC and BLM and all those who pander to the narrative of white oppression of Blacks are in fact doing more harm than good…both to the mindset of Blacks but also to race relations as they are being set back decades.

Why do Blacks not succeed as fast as other Bame communities?

It’s the victim/grievance culture that they are fed…everything that goes wrong is due to racism.

    Here’s a Black American telling the truth…

    Race-Hustling Results

‘Years ago, someone said that, according to the laws of aerodynamics, bumblebees cannot fly. But the bumblebees, not knowing the laws of aerodynamics, go ahead and fly anyway.

Something like that happens among people. There have been many ponderous academic writings and dour editorials in the mainstream media, lamenting that most people born poor cannot rise in American society any more. Meanwhile, many poor immigrants arrive here from various parts of Asia, and rise on up the ladder anyway.

Often these Asian immigrants arrive not only with very little money, but also very little knowledge of English. They start out working at low-paid jobs but working so many hours, often at more than one job, that they are able to put a little money aside.

After a few years, they have enough money to open some little shop, where they still work long hours, and still save their money, so that they can afford to send their children to college. Meanwhile, these children know that their parents not only expect, but demand, that they make good grades.

Some people try to explain why Asians, and Asian-Americans, succeed so well in education and in the economy by some special characteristics that they have. That may be true, but their success may also be due to what they do not have — namely “leaders” who tell them that the deck is so stacked against them that they cannot rise, or at least not without depending on “leaders.”

Such “leaders” are like the people who said that the laws of aerodynamics showed that the bumblebee cannot fly. Those who have believed such “leaders” have in fact stayed grounded, unlike the bumblebees.

A painful moment for me, years ago, when I was on the lecture circuit, came after a talk at Marquette University, when a young black student rose and asked: “Even though I am graduating from Marquette University, what hope is there for me?”

Back in the 1950s, when I was a student, I never encountered any fellow black student who expressed such hopelessness, even though there was far more racial discrimination then. We knew that there were obstacles for us to overcome, and we intended to overcome them.

The memory of that Marquette student came back to me, years later, when another black young man said that he had wanted to become a pilot, and had even planned to join the Air Force in order to do so. But then, he said, he now “realized” that “The Man” would never allow a black guy to become a pilot.

This was said decades after a whole squadron of black fighter plane pilots made a reputation for themselves in World War II, as the “Tuskegee Airmen.” There have been black generals in the Air Force.

Both these young men — and many others — have learned all too well the lessons taught by race hustlers, in their social version of the laws of aerodynamics, which said that they could not rise.

You don’t hear about racial “leaders” like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson among Asians or Asian-Americans. Here and there you may see some irresponsible academics peddling that line in the classroom — some of whom are of Asian ancestry, since no race of human beings is completely lacking in fools.

But they do not get the same attention, or draw the same following, as race hustlers operating in black or Hispanic communities. By and large, Asian youngsters rise and fly.

Other groups in times past also arrived on these shores with very little money and often with very little education, at least during the immigrant generation.

A poem by Carl Sandburg, back during that era, referred to a Jewish fish peddler in Chicago: “His face is that of a man terribly glad to be selling fish, terribly glad that God made fish, and customers to whom he may call his wares from a pushcart.”

This fish peddler probably had not gone to college, and so had no one to tell him that he couldn’t make it, and that his children couldn’t rise, because this was such a terrible country.

No one can claim that there was no anti-Semitism in America, any more than they can claim that there was never any anti-Asian discrimination. There was plenty of both. But that is very different from following “leaders” whose message would only keep them grounded, after the skies were open to them as never before. ‘

Does anybody watch news programmes expecting any news these days?
I used to listen to Radio 2 at work in the mornings and I can remember dear old Terry Wogan pondering then – why does the weather forecast spend so much time telling you what the weather’s already been like? Whereas the news tells you not what has happened, but what the Prime Minister is going to say this afternoon.
I was reminded of this watching today’s ITV News at 1:30 (I’ve got more sense than to risk BBC these days). Presenter Nina Hossein spoke to Labour’s Liz Kendall about Leicester – Liz blamed the government at the end of each sentence. Then Hossein spoke to headscarfed charity worker Rukhsana Hussein, again about Leicester – not much insight from her, she admitted she hadn’t been into the city centre since lockdown began. Next Boris’s speech, then Debi Edward on the crackdown in Hong Kong, about the only bit of the programme I considered to be actual news.
A black lady wedding planner called Rugie Wurie shoehorned into an item about wedding service regulations during the pandemic. Sally Biddulph with a hospitalised soldier.
Female-dominated, mostly inconsequential chatter (and get those minorities in at any opportunity), news it ain’t.

Since retiring I have found a few more things to do which don’t entail sitting at a PC all day so I now struggle to keep up with you all skimming through the numerous posts on my phone in the evening between all those awful TV programs .

The BBC are trying to uncover why Leicester has had to go into a second lockdown and why the Asian Community are the hardest hit.

They seem to have a few theories along the usual lines. i.e. they are oppressed, have worse living conditions all the usual it’s whities fault garbage.

The one question they seem reluctant to ask is what percentage of Covid cases are from Pakistan and how many of those recently returned from Pakistan or live with someone who has.

Leicesters population is now around 50% from these ethnic backgrounds and many flit backward and forwards to their home countries. Pakistan has a lot of Covid and a news article I read yesterday reported that 50% of UK imported Covid cases now come from Pakistan.

The report even said that some Pakistani’s were intentionally travelling back to the UK despite already having the virus to ensure that they get top quality treatment (free) on the NHS, Some have even got off the planes and headed straight to hospital!

Couple this with multiple generations living crammed in small houses in in terraced streets back-to-back in Leicester and I think you have a plausible reason for the outbreak.

I am still waiting for the BBC to stumble across this but I know they won’t. I guess neither will the Health professionals.

They are just happy the pubs will stay shut. (Muslims of course are not bothered by that as they avoid alcohol anyway.)

I guess there were a shed load of complaints to the BBC and it was put back. It is an inconvenient reminder of the first major outbreak of Covid-19 – outside of China – on the Diamond Princess.

It is also an inconvenient reminder how some countries may be being deliberately infected.

If you click on 10 February, the infections aboard the Diamond Princess are just over 60.

Move on to 10 March and the Diamond Princess has just been ‘beaten’ in the Top Ten chart by the USA with 711 infections.

Move on to 10 April and the USA is topping the chart with nearly half a million Covid-19 infections.

Now, I am aware, that the President and the Mayor of Leicester have both made the dumb remark that it is the success of testing that the figures are so high. They really must think we are stupid. “Yeah, Mr President, if you stop testing less people will get sick. The tests must be giving the people the virus.”

I have to say that looking at that curve on just the Top Ten chart, the conclusion must be that the USA is being deliberately infected with the Covid-19 virus.

    Why?

    And who is doing it?

    Or is it somehow accidental?

I have been watching a programme called “The Luminaries” on BBC1.

It is set in New Zealand in 1865, but I am having a problem with some of the multi racial casting. A character called Emery Staines is played by an actor called Himesh Patel, who is of course Indian.

Now Mr Staines seems to be a white character, as he is in love with a white girl played by Bono’s daughter, a fair Irish colleen, so she is.

Now there is a Maori character who is played by a Maori actor. so we are not colour blind to that extent, but it seems we have to pretend not to notice that a white man is portrayed by an Indian.

I accept that in Britain in 2020 a relationship between an Indian man and white woman would not attract much comment, and would possibly lead to lucrative roles advertising furniture. But in New Zealand in 1865 it would have been unheard of. I am pretty sure we are meant to take the character of Staines as English, and therefore white, so the act of having him played by an Indian just confuses the whole issue. Are we meant to ignore our lying eyes and just accept the the Indian man is white, or are we meant to enjoy this subversion of history and rejoice that a stuffy white man is played by a person of colour?

Or is the BBC just a load of woke old tripe these days?

Yes, I think that may be it.

It reminded me of a project I was on, many years ago, and a factory that made black bin-liners. The workforce (or at least the gobby leader of the workforce) decided that they didn’t like my plans for increasing productivity (which was a surprise to me, because at the time I didn’t know what I was planning). Anyway, the entire factory workforce went to the canteen, for a meeting, leaving 8 extruders running with only me and the maintenance guy on the shop floor (we were there to hit the emergency stop buttons if anything went wrong). I timed the meeting, and after 1 hour and 20 minutes the workforce emerged. I don’t know about them, but I’d certainly been given all the evidence I needed to formulate my plan.

especially in the UK in Britain as regards grooming gangs ?

Sadiq “Oh is that cos of my ethnicity and religion ?”

Digg – the London evening standard published numbers for the 32 London boroughs today – the places I’d expect to be very high – Newham and Tower Hamlets – are not – whereas Brentistan continues to be a ‘hotspot ‘.

I’ve lost faith in the numbers and would suggest that there is corruption in the numbers for those 2 low scorers – which are now part of the third world . ..

Fed, how about affluent (mostly) and white (mostly) Barnet? They were leading the infection list at one point. Strange that, isn’t it, after all the BBC have told us about the Covid-19 virus being racists and attacking BAMEs more than the white population?

Sadly I think the number of care homes in an area has an effect . In my ward in my borough it looked like a ‘hotspot ‘ when in fact it was 6 dead in a care home plus others infected ….

Does Barnet have a lot of care homes, Fed? I will research that one for you – if I remember. Enfield & Edmonton have a few. I was interested to hear mention of Enfield on the R4 News this a.m. or was it during Nick Robinson’s interview with Matt Hancock?

Local news : Here we are with the REFUGEE doctor working in Grimsby hospital.

…em in the footage the doctor is outside the hospital incorrectly wearing a disposable facemask on his neck
Bug will have been on his neck, so if he pulls the mask back up those bugs will be on the inside of the mask and breathed in into his mouth/nose.
That mask needs to go in the bin
and he needs a fresh one when he goes inside.

Stew, doesn’t matter, those are his bugs, he gets to keep them.

What is important for his patients is that that mask is correctly in place when talking to the next patient or when coughing or sneezing near the next patient. Gloves – yes – they need to be binned if in previous contact with mask or face of doctor and fresh ones should be worn before he meets – and touches – the next patient.
