    I had Radio 3 on quietly in the background this afternoon, Kathryn Tickell, (Northumbrian pipes player), was playing various pieces of folk music, some not at all unpleasant.

    Then I became aware that I was hearing a child reading out a ‘Trayvon Martin’ list of names. Off switch.

    I did a bit of housework and tried again, a background of police sirens and a voice talking about ‘another unjustified killing’. Off switch.

    I don’t recall that from Beethoven’s ‘fifth’ so a quick look on the web. Apparently I am missing out on

    The R4 5pm news had as its lead story an interview with Cherie Booth QC in which she said women’s interests and perspectives were being ignored in the reaction to Covid19. One instance that the BBC chose to summarize this, given in the main headline at the end of the show at 5:30, was the idea that focusing on reopening pubs ahead of schools showed that women were not being consulted. Much of the interview was a moan about lack of gender equality, more suited to Woman’s Hour.

    Seriously, is this REALLY the number one news story in the UK today? The BBC is insane!

    Evening All – (Saturday’s reminiscing about Dixon of Dock Green).

    I’ve been licence free for ages and decided to pull the plug on Sky as well – what a palaver. After finally getting into my account, I’m told that they’re basically not answering their phone unless I’m vulnerable (how would they know?).
    I go to my account and packages and try to cancel and delete everything….sorry you can’t do this online, please call to speak to someone.
    Said to myself **** it and just cancelled my direct debit……within 24 hours I got an email from them saying that they won’t be able to process my payment on the 26th and that I’ll be liable for a late charge -(Good luck with that!!).
    I’ve never attempted calling Sky as I’m told their customer service is rubbish and that it can take an hour of recorded music before getting someone on the line.
    Would like to thank Western Wyvern, I think, for recommending DJ Miles tea company. Ordered a selection on Wednesday, here on Friday, a nice cup as well. (The Yorkshire stuff will be composted).

    Evening – I empathise …. in peacetime a few years ago I rang and told Sky I was leaving – they promptly offered to cut my package from £55 to £25 ….. I’d been on that for years . So I asked for a refund for being ripped off …. you can guess the answer .
    So I terminated it . They kept ringing – each time the monthly came down more . I think it was about £15 by the time I told them I’d never use Sky again . And I haven’t . Good luck cancelling ….. I don’t think you are alone …..people have had enough ….

    Thought from Yesterday.
    I went into a shop/café yesterday to buy orange juice and wine. They had sky news on. All of these networks, including the beeb, seem too have news consisting one one correspondent talking to another correspondent . This one was in Tulsa taking about President Trump’s pending rally. The first words were along the lines of many people are dismayed and want to stop it. As I was leaving, rather than waste my life listening to bozo talking “dumbmkeys”, I thought to myself the following. If many people are dismayed, how come 1 million of them want tickets? Didn’t seem to be a talking point on sky. Btw. I don’t use capitals for them because they don’t merit it.

    Back in the day at school, before the word Woke was invented, we would josh each other. If you were fat, thin, had blond hair, had ginger hair, whatever you got your leg pulled and maybe got a nickname as a result. Some of it lasted longer.
    It’s still true in the Armed Services. Lanky, Shorty etc.

    But in woke BBC la la land, these could now be described as -isms.
    Fattism, gingerism, tallism, blondism, thinism. There are no well-known support groups for these.
    Unless you are black. Then there is just one single description. Racism. Racism is a convenient catch-all brand for all those bits of annoyance that for the rest of us whities exist only as nonentity -isms. Racism is thus a kind of economy of scale, critical mass brand and carries all the marketing benefits that go with it.
    Perhaps whiteism should be alternative.

      Why?…….because I had spent my formative years in the sun playing football, cricket until sunset, and was very dark skinned.

      When you are 11 and your brother’s year are 16 thats what you got?Was it ‘bullying’ or ‘banter’?

      I was also nicknamed DIDDY after Diddy David Hamilton because I was relatively small until I was 16?..does it bother me 45 years on?….

      Sluff – Re ‘whiteism’-
      This is all about ‘assertiveness’. Perhaps even ‘aggressiveness’? Demographics support that theory.
      (We now have to generalise, to keep it simple. There are many conservative blacks and Trotskyite whites. Also, we are looking now at media portrayal of these group identities -MSM. They are called the media because the ‘mediate reality’ to us. We also have to distinguish between groups and individuals.)
      With ever greater numbers on all continents, blacks have become more assertive. Whites have shown little inclination to do that. They have remained largely non-assertive. Blacks might say that’s because they’re already ‘privileged’. Of course, white numbers are shrinking, especially relatively.

      THE BIG ISSUE: it’s one thing to be assertive or non-assertive. It’s quite another to be aggressive. Where does one begin and the other end? Roughly, this is the answer:
      *non-assertive: you have rights, I have none;
      *assertive: you have rights, I have rights ;
      *aggressive: I have rights, you have none.

      So, the answer would simply be, not ‘whiteism’, creating a new brand, but simply assertive whites.
      They need only become aggressive in response, not to assertive blacks, but to aggressive blacks.
      To me, all ‘in your face’ displays of power, are aggressive by nature. That would include the ‘peaceful’ wearing of shirts with slogans on the football field, through to burning and looting and statue-toppling. The last three are -in fact- crimes, even though police may ‘chose’ not to treat them as such.
      The shirts are pretty darn close to (apparently assertive, but actually aggressive actions), IMHO. But the non-assertive seem to stay non-assertive.
      That’s what needs to change.

    The BBC news finally cover Trump’s upcoming rally in Tulsa, by doing a strange mash-up of the BLM riots, yesterday’s Juneteenth and today’s rally, which they qualify as ‘controversial’. (Controversial to who BBC? To your reporters maybe.)

    Without quite saying it explicitly, by dredging up a racist event in Tulsa a century ago and splicing in George Floyd and Al Sharpton, they manage to tar Trump and his supporters with the racist brush. Goebbels would have been proud.

    (They also dignify Al Sharpton with the title ‘a leading civil-rights leader’. Race-baiter and sh*t-stirrer extraordinaire might be more accurate.)

    As the BBC fights for Black Supremacy I am reminded of a hymn from childhood:

    Jesus bids us shine with a clear, pure light,
    Like a little candle burning in the night;
    In this world of darkness, we must shine,
    You in your small corner, and I in mine.

    Jesus bids us shine, first of all for Him;
    Well He sees and knows it if our light is dim;
    He looks down from heaven, sees us shine,
    You in your small corner, and I in mine.

    Jesus bids us shine, then, for all around
    Many kinds of darkness in this world abound:
    Sin, and want, and sorrow—we must shine,
    You in your small corner, and I in mine.

    Jesus bids us shine, as we work for Him,
    Bringing those that wander from the paths of sin;
    He will ever help us, if we shine,
    You in your small corner, and I in mine.

    What was so wrong with your corner that you need to take over mine?

    Um, I think this is the time we’re all asked to join together in racial harmony and not let these extremists divide us, lay some flowers, light candles and sing “Don’t look back in anger.”
    That seems to be par for the course, unless…

    You’re black, as thick as a tree trunk and angry about something that happened 300 odd years ago. Then you’ll have every grievance listened to with the utmost sympathy. You’ll be told you’re oppressed. You’ll be encouraged to take up arms. The BBC will show endless programmes encouraging your belief in the innate racism you’ve suffered. And pretty soon you’ll believe you’ve every right to have a hissy fit, attack police, smear moronic graffiti on memorials and tear down statues.

    God, how I despise our media…

      Well, I was surprised to see a sports presenter on Sky, as well as being open necked, he was sporting a huge white badge on his left lapel with black lettering – Black Lives Matter.

      Are we now to assume that every cause and opinion that presenters/journalists have in their private life, will now be expressed on air by something visual on their person ? Poppies are a different matter when we remember those who fought and the fallen in the service of their country, but showing solidarity with groups, cults or organisations is another thing entirely. Shall we next see reporters et al, sporting rosettes in the colours of their football club or political party ? because wearing a BLM badge is no different.

    Everyone desperately trying to disconnect the stabbings in Reading with the BLM extremist march….if it was an ‘ALM’ march you could guarantee a connection would be found.

    Probably not a coincidence happened after the march.

    Maybe, some might say, the stoking of racial prejudice against ‘The British’ fuelled the attack….instead of toppling statues they’ve moved on.

      My first concern when I heard about the stabbings was that some idiot had snapped after weeks of being told by the BBC that everything black was wonderful and that anyone white should be ashamed of themselves and grovel.

      I was relieved that the perpetrator appears not to be white as we all know what the reaction of the media would have been. No “mental health issues” get-out-of-jail-free card. No declarations that the perpetrator was not representative of his cause. No “lone wolf” ploy.

      And I’m sorry to say that I was not concerned about BLM marchers. Such has been the behaviour of that rabble, with the connivance of the media and our two-tier law enforcement that I am indifferent to their fate. They are stirring up division and racial strife. I do not wish them ill but neither do I wish them well.

    Regarding the BBC’s reporting on the Black Lives Matter protests both here and in the US, can anyone remember them leading with coronavirus fears? I certainly can’t. If covid was mentioned at all it was buried deeply in their articles.

    Contrast that approach with Trump’s Tulsa rally. The BBC headline is “Donald Trump: Crowds gather for Tulsa rally despite coronavirus fears”.

    The second sentence in the article is “There are concerns the event at Tulsa’s 19,000-seat Bank of Oklahoma Center could increase the spread of Covid-19”.

    BRISSLES,raised the matter of sports presenters on SKY not wearing ties.This has been happening since December,it is the new policy of SKY SPORTS NEWS.They started this relaxed dress code in the hope of attracting a younger audience.Nothing much has changed for female presenters,who are still wearing high heels,and skin tight clothing!
    At the moment SKY are trying to outdo BBC in their support for BLM.The propaganda and virtue-signalling is never ending.The cynic in me wonders if they are hoping for more subscribers from the BAME community!

      Lord, I have written to Sky with my displeasure. Its like seeing Prince William sporting Aston Villa’s colours everytime he makes a public appearance. Not on.

      Also this particular sports presenter didn’t exactly look ‘edgy’, but his open necked style showed a round neck vest/t shirt underneath !! naff or what.

    BBC News chanel at 1am. Started with 3 minutes about the Reading stabbings making it clear no one has died officially.

    Then onto the Trump rally showing the empty seats up high in the stadium. Then talking about the number of tickets compared to the number of empty seats. Then mentioning about previous empty seats at Trump meetings.

    And then the BBC commentator had the nerve to say “Trump is a man obsessed with crowd sizes”. Oh the irony.

      I have to say that when I heard how many had apparently been registering for tickets, my first thought was to wonder if it was trolls to keep the actual crowd lower.

    Why is this news?

    Racism is your auntie, equality campaigner says

    A young woman who has been sticking up BLM ‘posters’ in Woodbridge is upset because some residents, (allegedly), have taken them down.

    “People don’t realise how brainwashed yt people can be. This is a perfect example because people think racism is skin heads and swastikas. No hun, it’s your auntie Karen x”

    ‘Some might say’ that she was the one that had been brainwashed. Sticking up bits of cardboard doesn’t make one an anti-racist, it does make one a despoiler of the public space and perhaps others don’t like to see that mess, especially when littering is unlawful and usually attracts a fine.

    Whatever else this is, it isn’t news. It is a one-sided campaign piece with no apparent verification carried out by the BBC and certainly no attempt at impartiality. This is especially important at a time when ‘silence is violence’ has been made a slogan, i.e. if you don’t actively submit to our demands then you are against us.

    Too right, ‘hun’!

    Three stabbed to death , Al Beeb trying to play down the story so far, and making a mess of it. Still “terror related”? Something odd about the reporting of events. Still “not terror related “. Libyan?

      My “thoughts and prayers” are with the poor Libyan man assaulted by that racist copper.

      Who do these people think they are?
      Assaulting poor mentally ill Libyan men going for a pleasant Saturday afternoon walk in the park.

      according to BBC news “Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said the stabbing was “very concerning”.

      Is this more evidence of police brutality? – maybe when Sir Keir” has got up off his knees. I expect he will be pressing his lefty mates in the DPP to level assault charges against the vicious plod and at the very least go on a racial awareness course.

    Of course everyone is sceptical about the official version of the Reading incident. I imagine that the local police issued the initial statement about treating it as terror related but were then sat upon from upon high and changed their views. The official cover up will be in full swing by now and the lone wolf with mental issues explanation will be trotted out by tomorrow morning.
    This incident does underline the fact that in the UK today it is difficult to find any news service which isn’t fully signed up to the BAMEs good whites bad narrative. Breitbart’s , which might be more truthful on this type of incident, latest report was timed at midnight . The BBCSM are putting out the approved version but omitting the early police statement , since retracted, about treating it as terror related . The rest of the MSM are parroting the same stuff. All of them are at great pains to point out that it has nothing to do with BLM.
    I believe that it is only a matter of time before people will die directly from the BLM protests. If there are mentally disturbed lone wolf adherents of Mohammed then there are likely to be plenty of mentally disturbed BLM supporters out there who are tipped over the edge by this constant barrage of Black good White bad propaganda.
    The white liberals who support the BLM message and the MSM , who seem determined to fan the flames , probably feel that they can control the mob that they are creating. Just like they feel that they will be able to prevent the slide into radical Islam. I hope that they are right but I fear that they are wrong. Orwell wrote that ‘ so much left wing thinking is done by people who are playing with fire without understanding that fire burns’ , well something along those lines. As usual he can be relied upon for an apt quote.

    ESTHER KRAKUE: I dared to question the aims of Black Lives Matter – and got the worst racist abuse I’ve ever suffered

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8443669/ESTHER-KRAKUE-dared-question-aims-Black-Lives-Matter.html

    When I first moved to the UK from Ghana with my family in my early teens, the country that welcomed me was one where multiculturalism flourished and neighbours were warm and unassuming.

    Your achievements were not prefaced by the colour of your skin or your place on the totem pole of identity politics.

    People from ethnic and racial minorities were not constantly looking over their shoulders and assuming that every social interaction was laced with disdain or racism. It was a Britain where confidence trumped victimhood.

    But, much to my dismay, the tone has shifted entirely, and worryingly, over the past five years.

    Now I, a 24-year-old black woman of West African heritage, am expected to be mortally offended if someone dares assume that my dark skin might signal heritage not native to the British Isles

    Earlier this month I tweeted: ‘Are Brits still allowed to be proud of their culture and heritage or is that racist now?’ I also said I was ‘fairly sick of all the protests’. Last week, I made clear that I do not support BLM, adding: ‘Never have. Never will. I don’t need to put a black square online or tie myself to that organisation to prove that I care about black people.’

    Some of the comments on social media I have received following these tweets have been truly shocking. I have been targeted by a campaign of abuse, hate and false information aimed at tarnishing the reputation of a black woman. I wake up every day to horrible messages. Most of this abuse was seemingly coming from black supporters of Black Lives Matter, including a significant amount from African-Americans, although I have also been abused by white liberals. Some of the trolls have circulated a fake image, which they falsely suggest is me. It shows a black woman on her knees posing as the seemingly subservient cartoon dog Scooby-Doo and flanked by four white women. I have had racist language used against me that is as bad as the ‘N’ word.

    I have had people tell me they hope I am barren.
    What I have received this last week online has given me a glimpse into the darkest part of the human soul – the part that can muster up the most awful hatred.
