Midweek Thread 17 June 2020

We are witnessing the BBC morphing from a wholly biased anti British anti Right anti Judeo Christian propaganda machine into an undeclared Campaigning Operation without any controls or accountability. Its journalists AKA campaigners now preach from pulpits in the TV Studios on a daily basis ;
“ holding power to account” is now just a meaningless phrase for the BBC . Time to End it .

BBC WEB-SITE Watch #1 – Significant item of news missing

With Willie Thorne dying all over the BBC w-s you would think that they might have made space for a significant item of news from the USA. You would think.

Especially as it involves (in Europe) a BBC Favourite: Nick Clegg. Facebook are to guard against overseas involvement in the November US Presidential Election. In addition, all US targeted advertising on Facebook will have to carry the name of the sponsor, as it does on TV and radio.

All this despite Nick Clegg’s claim on the TOADY Prog a long time ago that the two, not one, internal reviews at Facebook had found no meddling in the 2016 EU Referendum in the UK and the US Presidential Election later the same year.

Why doesn’t the BBC mention this important item of news on its web-site? Especially after all the fuss and exaggerated claims it carried all over the Corporation’s output (by Beeboids as well as ‘outsiders’) that both votes were ‘influenced’ and affected by outsiders.

Is it because the BBC’s opportunities to meddle in the US Presidential Election will be restricted by this? Soapy and the Walnut One and other Beeboids will have to mind their Ps and Qs when they post and re-post on Facebook in future.

The BBC’s negative narrative is a million miles away from what folks in the real world want to hear.
For instance, scroll down down the BBC website home page this morning and you’ll see the following: “Rashford seeks more change after food voucher win”; “Black Durham trainee vicar denied job at ‘white’ church”; “X Factor’s Misha B claims show pushed ‘angry black girl narrative’ on her”.
But you won’t see any reference at all about the following stories (my headlines, sorry): “World welcomes stunning U.K. Covid drug breakthrough”; “British exports could increase by £1billion as trade deal talks open with Australia, New Zealand”; “Taxpayers’ group hails scrapping of international aid department”.
Big, positive news developments, all shunted into the background by the biased BBC.

Just watch this, sorry it’s long, but it’s worth it. How Socialism and idiotic lefties have been allowed to destroy the once great North West city of Seattle. What it doesn’t answer is the sheer idiocy of the people who vote to allow this to continue.

      I watched this earlier.

Essentially Seatle has adopted a very lax policy on drug use and drug carrying. They also aren’t too bothered if people camp on the streets wherever they like.

It isn’t worth arresting anyone because they will be quickly released. The result is a mixture of people with drug and mental health issues out loose on the streets.

Seatle politicians say they have a housing problem.

Rhode Island, on the other hand, locks them up and puts them on substitute drugs both inside and outside prison after release. People on the programme say it has saved their lives. The ‘compassionate’ Seatle programme turns a blind-eye to the ill and makes life hell for the rest of the city.

An interesting graphic makes out San Francisco to be even worse, New York is one of the best.

      • Thoughtful says:

It’s worse than that though. I hear this in other British cities with lunatic mayors like Burnham who are saying the same things.

People are travelling to Seattle because of its lax drug laws, the Police are giving up, like they have here.

Then when Antifa comes along to seize the city the media here don’t want to report it – like the civil wars in French cities. Those who refuse to learn the mistakes of even the present are bound to repeat them. Only we can’t learn if we aren’t even told.

Imagine what might have happened if the White guy had been murdered by BLM? The illusory lie spun by the scum media would have rapidly unravelled. The lie about peaceful protest would have been revealed. The lie about ‘far right activist’ would have been revealed and the whole tangled web would have come crashing down around their ears.

They must have all breathed a collective sigh of relief of ‘phew that was close’, because it wasn’t the white guy who was saved, it was the lying scum media.

        Do you think so?

Kriss Donald (2 July 1988 – 15 March 2004) was a 15-year-old white Scottish boy who was kidnapped and murdered in Glasgow in 2004 by a gang of men of Pakistani origin, some of whom fled to Pakistan after the crime. Daanish Zahid, Imran Shahid, Zeeshan Shahid and Mohammed Faisal Mustaq were later found guilty of racially motivated murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

On 15 March 2004, Donald was abducted from Kenmure Street by five men associated with a local British Pakistani gang led by Imran Shahid. The kidnapping was ostensibly revenge for an attack on Shahid at a nightclub in Glasgow city centre the night before by a local white gang, and Donald was chosen as an example of a “white boy from the McCulloch Street area” despite having no involvement in the nightclub attack or in any gang activity.

Donald was taken on a 200-mile journey to Dundee and back while his kidnappers made phone calls looking for a house to take him to. Having no success at this, they returned to Glasgow and took him to the Clyde Walkway, near Celtic Football Club’s training ground. There, they held his arms (ascertained due to an absence of defensive wounds) and stabbed him multiple times. He sustained internal injuries to three arteries, one of his lungs, his liver and a kidney. He was doused in petrol and set on fire as he bled to death.

The BBC has been criticised by some viewers because the case featured on national news only three times and the first trial was later largely confined to regional Scottish bulletins including the verdict itself. Although admitting that the BBC had “got it wrong”, the organisation’s Head of Newsgathering, Fran Unsworth, largely rejected the suggestion that Donald’s race played a part in the lack of reportage, instead claiming it was mostly a product of “Scottish blindness”. In preference to reporting the verdict the organisation found the time to report the opening of a new arts centre in Gateshead in its running order. The BBC again faced criticisms for its failure to cover the second trial in its main bulletins, waiting until day 18 to mention the issue and Peter Horrocks of the BBC apologised for the organisation’s further failings.

I have also seen the BBC pushing the name of Professor Kehinde Andrews who is a Professor of Black Studies at Birmingham City University, England. He is someone who has made a very successful academic career out of “finding racism” in contemporary English Society and elsewhere.

Norman Smith says there is a lack of ‘grip’ and ‘leadership’ in No10 on beeb TV1 news. He could be right. But I differ on the interpretation of ‘why’.
    Government DOES NOT LEARN.
Marcus R is now saying, what he’s done in summer, must now be carried on, and he intends doing that.
So government/No10 will have to learn, yet again, that any concession to the whole ‘black’ thing, is merely going to encourage the next set of demands, however well it is disguised.
Beeb is promoting race-baiter Raheem S telling us defiently, he’s never going to ‘tire of being black’. he has that same expression and tone as he has when he has dived, and the ref has had the audacity of not giving him the free kick or penalty. Refs will now be really fearful of any negative decision re him. Aggresive body language.
    Never going to tire..Duh.
I’m never going to tire of being white. Can’t help it. But I don’t think, on its own, it’s anything to shout about.
What a stupid campaign of beeb to promote.
Beeb asks MR what his next focus is. He doesn’t want ‘this to be the end of it’. Maybe they could fish around for a Labour seat in parliament for him?
    Then again, no need.
Footballers and rioters now make government policy.
And I’m not even against anyone who genuinely doesn’t have food, from being given it.
But we notice how this issue is being fudged, and put in the pot with other issues, always to give you the same theme.

And maybe we’ll hear from that other political luminary, Ian Wright, passing on his thoughts regarding our trading relationship with China.

Why does the BBC Parliament ‘show’ start at 12.35 when questions to the PM starts at 12.00?

Could it be that the BBC want to use the ‘bias by omission’ tactic to later selectively show clips when Starmer ‘appears’ to be winning?

Today, Boris destroyed Starmer so I doubt we will see that in later news bulletins.

    https://www.forbes.com/sites/markjoyella/2020/06/16/tucker-carlson-takes-title-as-most-watched-host-in-cable-news/?

Tucker and Nigel Farage are among the few with the guts to speak the truth

“With an average total audience of four million viewers, Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson finished the week of June 8 through June 14 as the most-watched host in all of cable news, despite the decision by some advertisers to abandon his program over comments Carlson made about the Black Lives Matter movement.

Tucker Carlson Tonight finished ahead of FNC’s usual first-place finisher, Hannity, which ended the week in second place with 3.9 million viewers, followed by The Ingraham Angle (3.5 million total viewers) according to ratings data compiled by Nielsen.

Last week, Carlson drew criticism for remarks he made about Black Lives Matter, saying “this may be a lot of things, this moment we are living through, but it is definitely not about black lives, and remember that when they come for you. And at this rate, they will.”

We go over now to Old Trafford where football fans, for what seems like almost weeks now have been starved of the game they love, and are eagerly awaiting the return of BBC commentary to once again take them up the Stretford End.

I see the good-humoured crowds have brought hundreds of comical inflatables into the ground – oh, wait a minute, those inflatables ARE the crowd. This match being played behind closed doors of course.

A moment’s silence, respectfully observed by the empty terraces – it’s so nice to see that. Exactly what we’re anxious to see more of in the modern game.

Manchester United players have already kicked off, attacking the goal far to their Left, and coming from Right-on.

The Referee’s Assistant is on the touchline, she is desperately signalling something… err, is that an off-side? No, play on, she was just virtue signalling.

The Ref is taking out his spray can and… is that a free kick? No, he’s just doing some grafitti slogans over the Yorkshire Tea adverts on the pitchside hordings. Nice to see that.

A couple of new rules have been hurriedly brought in by the English FA with FIFA acting as honest broker and giving their approval in return for the traditional backhander.

There will now be unlimited substitutes and unlimited player salaries, of course. No spitting will be allowed for obvious reasons and no tackling the black players. Any gay players that come out on the pitch will be quite a result since they will count for double points in that crucial gay promotion race.

Speaking of the promotion race – race will be promoted at all times and the Referee will be keeping a close eye on that with the help of video technology in the form of support from the BLM Referees tweeting messages through from their secret location if they think he’s missed an infringement by a white player.

They both then went a few kilometres north-east for another rendezvous, before each departing for their respective home ports. This isn’t ‘search and rescue’ – it’s a straight out blatant taxi service provided by the French and British governments.

Meanwhile we are always told deaths occur about 3-4 weeks after getting the virus. In the first week of May new cases were still running at 5000 a day, as they were in the first week of April. But three weeks later, in the last week of May, deaths were down from 900 to ‘only’ 300 a day.

There is a story here, and questions worth asking.
Maybe the survival rate is better than we feared.
Maybe a magnitude higher level of untested positive cases prevailed in late March.
Maybe the NHS has been quietly getting better at getting seriously ill people through.

Why can’t the BBC ask questions to inform such possibilities instead of its continual undermining and seditious s***-stirring.

    • StewGreen says:

The Worldometer graphs are flawed cos they are based on the daily report stats, which include lots of delayed reports.
PHE re does the stats at the end of each week and produces data with the actual death dates.
BBC More Or less covered this
The actual peak death day was 2 weeks into Lockdown
which meant the peak case day was 2 weeks before lockdown.
However that’s only to do with Hospital deaths
      which are more deaths
but when you add deaths in other locations
that moves the graphs a bit.

Oh, they and their libmob Marxist friends must be triggered.

Patriotism they will sneer and decry. ‘Little Britain’…

£900K, what a waste of money they will announce, when there are food banks in the UK in the 21st century…

    Personally, I’m all for a bit of pride in our country, I’d go further;

Lets not just paint it Red White and Blue, but let us name it the ‘Spirit of Winston Churchill’ and ask that fine fellow, the millionaire with black privilege, Marcus Rashford to contribute, he’s got the ear of government and is not short of a few quid.

I’m sure he’d be delighted to help his country in such a way.

Now that is becoming obvious that the very left-leaning teachers unions are digging their heels in over schools re-opening just to confound the Conservative Government in a totally politically motivated manner I believe it’s time for a firm decision from the Government.

They must pinpoint a date at which point the Government and the Country at large believe it is safe to resume full schooling.

If the Unions then advise their members to ignore this they have to be seen as ‘strikers’ and all this means to their contracts and pay.

The British public should not be forced to go on paying for these teachers to stay at home purely to support the political motives of their Unions.

If the Unions dig their heels in lets have a bloody referendum on it as they seem to like those. I can bet on the result of that right now!

Come on Boris, name the day!

And for me apart from the appalling deaths the other disgraceful thing about the Pandemic is the way that Labour have completely politicised the whole thing. Sod the well being of the public, lets make some political point scoring

Does he really need to do much with his Labour Party? T Blair used his decade wisely: he installed like-minded people everywhere, and no institution has turned out to have been Blair-proof. (Not to mention illegally opening the door to 2-3 million ‘migrants’, apparently to give the Tories a black eye, or something like that.)
As I said earlier, a large ‘Conservative’ majority seems sometimes to be no more than a puppet show in parliament, while the real action goes on beneath the surface.

I am getting very concerned over the behaviour of Boris. If I was in his government I would be blazing mad. No support for their decisions, he just rides roughshod over decisions made.
How he could have allowed his ministers to be belittled after they said no vouchers and he just overturned the decision a few hours later when a footballer goes to the bbc/scum media.
I watched PM questions today (I dont normally but wanted to see how he performed) and frankly the opposition have him stitched up. Stephen Timms (labour) asks again after asking the same question to Hancock last week and got knocked back but this week he got a yes of course from Boris. The question was in this time of virus bla bla can someone who is in the country and has been told they can stay but cannot claim any benefits now claim the food vouchers. Of course, why not says Boris. It’s a f***king disgrace, the opposition pile in with more demands.
They see weakness in Boris after the latest chaos and are going for the full monty. Now the footballer is bigging up the fact we could give vouchers all the time.Dear God, where will this madness end, I know when we are bankrupt as a nation and we are left to pick up the pieces the left will still be complaining about the mess we are left in.
If Boris is doing this to make people like him or vote for him hes mad as they would always hate him and just want to screw as much as they can out of the government.
Please can someone put Boris in a darkened room, close the door and let the cabinet get on with running the country.

Boris is very erratic, and looks very weak. So much for an 80 seat majority.
He will probably get worse. R4 says his car was involved in an accident. Apparently a protester leapt in front of his car, which slammed on anchors, causing the security detail behind him to crash into him. I am reminded of long, long ago, when Alabama Governor and Presidential candidate (Ind), George Wallace said: “if any protester lies down in front of my car, it’ll be the last car he ever lay down in front of.”
Now anti-government protesters are gold coated. Impale the whole of government, but don’t touch a lefty protester?
Labour, massacred at the polls, seem to have the initative everywhere, from the bbc to the universities, media, police, even sport! Boris seems to think the answer is to be more like them. He ignores his own natural constituency completely.
It’s the Rashfords and the Purnells of this world, who decide what happens and what we are to see and hear.
And Boris seems happy to play along. Very soon , I shall begin thinking fondly of Ms May?

Seem to recall that the BBC itself carried the news that the Covid-19 virus cannot exist in water. If they are talking about the summer version of the norovirus (another coronavirus) then that is usually spread via surface contact and lack of hand-washing. As I know. To my cost.

But, but, the weather is not really consistently hot enough for summer weather tummy bugs to abound. Is this Fake News from the BBC? It certainly appears so.

Thinking a little more about this, the DM article is confusing to say the least as it lists several reasons many of which are spurious.

Lord Hall said delaying means-testing of the free TV licence for over-75s is costly
He said it was a ‘significant sum at a time when revenue from licence fee is down’
This is because of the broadcaster’s ability to collect the fee during the lockdown

OK part of the reason is a management decision to carry on with the free licences for the over 75s.
The licence fee revenue is down because the BBC can’t collect it because of the lockdown?

That makes no sense at all when the TV tax is paid either in a lump sum or by direct debit, and why can’t they collect it during lockdown? Post Offices are open and so are the few Bank Branches which remain.
Sounds like Hall is attempting to leverage covid to get more money from the Cowardly Boris.

“It is feared that thousands of jobs may go as the corportation looks to make the saving after the pandemic left a huge hole in its budget.”

Again when you have a fixed income and you stop producing programs cause a huge hole in the finances?

The BBC re-instated and paid 450 journalists who were due to leave at around the time the lockdown started. That’s down to Lord Hall, not the taxpayer.

In 2019/20 the BBC continued to push through massive pay increases and equalise pay for women. Again, that’s down to Lord Hall, not the taxpayer.

Excuses, excuses. That’s all you get from the failure known as Lord Hall.

This royal throne of kings, this scepter’d isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
    This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall,
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,
This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England,
This nurse, this teeming womb of royal kings,
Fear’d by their breed and famous by their birth,
Renowned for their deeds as far from home,
For Christian service and true chivalry,
As is the sepulchre in stubborn Jewry,
Of the world’s ransom, blessed Mary’s Son,
This land of such dear souls, this dear dear land,
Dear for her reputation through the world,
Is now leased out, I die pronouncing it,
Like to a tenement or pelting farm:
England, bound in with the triumphant sea
Whose rocky shore beats back the envious siege
Of watery Neptune, is now bound in with shame,
With inky blots and rotten parchment bonds:
That England, that was wont to conquer others,
Hath made a shameful conquest of itself.
Ah, would the scandal vanish with my life,
How happy then were my ensuing death!

Far to close for comfort today!

As I predicted here a couple of months or so ago, China will wind up the World stakes with some sort of an opportunistic distraction. Certainly on the India/China border. Let’s call the action, the “Galtieri distraction plan” in memory of that war designed to cause a distraction. (Didn’t he do well!)

Strangely, another tin-pot (forgive the pun), setup under the control of China is jumping on the bandwagon. Seems that the building NK met with SK officials on the border has been blown up by the NKoreans. All too convenient for my liking, particularly when the US has its own internal problems with their own Communist virus (and I don’t mean Covid). An ideal time for China to apply a diversionary tactic to engage the US remotely.

Oh, would it not be wonderful to have a state broadcaster that provided news, real news? But there, we have to wish on…………..
