I wake up in the morning and look at the BBC website and
keep asking myself am I getting more paranoid towards
the BBC ?
I find the leader page and do something I do when I am checking
a football score on ” Live Score” when I have had a bet. I cover
up the score and gradually take my hand away.
I do the same with the lead picture on the BBC website. Because
I know I am going to see an ethnic picture. I think that one day
I am not going to see it, BUT my paranoia is increased because
there it is again.
My paranoia seems to be boundless because I am beginning
to believe that the BBC supports the Chinese Communist
Party and could actually be under it’s control to become the
number one propaganda mechanism in the west for the
totalitarian state.

I disagree with spiked online . I don’t want the BBC to survive . So if it’s huge management thinks closing BBC4 is a good idea then go for it . Alienate the age group who use it further and go for the age range already hooked on Netflix , prime , Apple and the rest – because there will be no contest .
What is it they say ? American TV is in a Golden Age ? Yes agreed . The drama output is several levels above anything British TV produces now .
This is because of our ‘ tick box ‘ favourite which frightens original writing into an ever tighter formula .
So close BBC4 – sink it into the Asian network , yoof TV , EUTV and watch even more taxpayers drift away ever quicker ….

My first thought when this idea was first mooted, was ‘that’s it – all vestiges of decent programming that the BBC was once hailed for, is now getting the boot”.
Where will I now get my ‘fix’ of Scandi thrillers, and other decent dramas, as well as intelligent documentaries ? I refuse to pay another monthly fee for the odd decent programme on Netflix, and Talking Pictures (and now Sony Classics) provide this old film buff with watchable films.
The bloody ‘yoof’ – who don’t even know what a tv licence is, let alone pay for one, aren’t interested in the output of the BBC whether its for their age group or not. It hasn’t worked in the past when Janet Streete-Porter was employed to raise the ‘yoof’ profile of the BBC, and if money is to be saved then they should offload all the high earners, but that’s too simple for the brain dead lefties at the Corporation.

Paying £6? A month for Netflix – after 3 months of membership has proved well worth the money . I really don’t bother with the BBC any more – and I’m beyond the 50 number .
How the BBC will try to take on subscription channels is beyond me . But I think it is excellent for those wanting to see a real shake up when the Royal Charter is due for renewal .
I can’t see the government doing much to the BBC until then sadly .
Maybe its me, but a friend who has Netflix showed me the selection of films available, and in the main they seemed to be aimed at a younger audience. I’m not into comic book heros, inane comedies, or those that go straight to video, so it may be only £6 a month for the odd series like the Crown, but I already fork out for Sky, so I’ll make do with that.

I was really looking forward to this new radio station. As another commenter says, the door is wide open.
I like the ethos of LBC. The presenters’ views, biases and foibles are already known, accepted and out in the open, without any pretence to be ‘unbiased’ as per the BBC. And in the phone-ins, listeners with different views are allowed to air their opinions without being shut down (again, as per the BBC).
However I was hugely disappointed when I found out what the presenters line-up was for Times Radio. All the presenters have the same BBC Remainer pro-EU anti-Trump standpoint, which suggests that, despite the good words, it will just be more of the same.
So, I think that the door will still be wide open for something different – something more akin to The Spectator and Spiked. I’d love to hear more from Sumption and Liddle and Brendan; people who can challenge the listeners in the right way.

BBC Radio 4 Today programme this morning circa 8:00 am. Breathless waiting for the first quarter unemployment fiures, trailed repeatedly earlier in the run-up to the data release. Hugh Pym invited to tell us the bad news by one of the female Beeboid newsreaders in charge this morning, deflatedly announces the number to be ‘a bit of a damp squib’, since there had been negligible change in figures from previous quarters.
What ho, Mr Pym…. clearly disappointed that not enough people had lost their jobs, eh ? Not providing a big negative headline for the left-wing BBC, eh ? Never mind, there was always the inevitable rise in benefits claims in April (as a direct result of an external influence – Covid-19) to brighten up your morning.
Sort of puts you in mind of another Beeboid newsreader, a certain Ms Mishal Husain, who despondently made it clear that Jews weren’t being killed by Hamas in enough numbers to satisfy her a few years ago.
Also noted that the Resolution Foundation is still being touted as an ‘Independent’ think tank by the BBC, despite its obvious left-leaning tendencies.
Both JHB & Kofi Smiles took time to have a dig at Trump for taking CHQ as a prophylactic.

A while back I mentioned an acquaintance who tested negative for CV19 on entry to hospital and then later died positive. And I mused why there were no statistics about this eventuality.
I am indebted to ITV who discovered the reason for this. The authorities have deliberately suppressed the information. Hard data seems impossible to get but, to use terminology often favoured by the BBC, ‘up to ‘ 20% of CV19 hospitals deaths are of patients who tested negative on initial entry. Let’s say the actual figure is half that. It’s still a shocking story. Yet has barely any coverage. And it’s hard to find by googling unless you have a very precise search.
Googling ‘catching coronavirus in hospital’ followed by either itv or daily mail gets the story. Add bbc though and you get lots of guff but not the key story.

Monday someone gets Covid symptoms
They are brought to hospital and tested
meanwhile Tuesday their fever comes up
Wed/Thu the Monday tests results come back negative
..well that is cos the test was not done properly or the viral load that day was very low.
but by Wednesday the hospital won’t care much about the test results, they just keep treating the person cos the symptoms are obvious.
Not every treatment succeeds so that person dies after being tested again this time positive.

There IS a cover up for the simple reason that the relevant documents were marked as ‘Classified’ and only released six weeks later.
And to respectfully follow your logic, if the false negative CV test results are running as high as ‘up to ‘ 20% then thats a different but no less serious issue. Which has also had no coverage.
From the start of the Covid crisis the World Health Organisation has been a bloody shambles.
They began by backing China. This was a local and non infectious malady. Nothing much to worry about…
Then we had the total about face and their advice to lockdown most of the planet.
Sweden decided to disobey and were told their hospitals would be overwhelmed. Bodies would be stacked up in the streets. It would be a catastrophe. Mortality rates would exceed 40,000 by the beginning of May and 80,000 by July.
Thankfully these dystopian death rates have been proven totally wrong and at the start of this month Sweden’s Covid mortality was just over the 3,000 mark.
Last week a couple of WHO officials praised Sweden for their sensible approach to the virus.
What are they going to tell us next?
BTW I don’t think their initials, WHO, sufficiently sum up their stunning incompetence.

Typical bit of casual bias on Radio 4 around 11:10 a.m. by Jolyon Jenkins, in an otherwise interesting prog’ about making ventilators.
There was a US scientist who said that the British government had issued good clear specifications for what any new ventilator device should do. JJ had to chime in with “so the government got SOMETHING right” and the scientist said “it looks that way from here” [i.e. the US].
So, at the risk of sounding like a Primary School teacher, the casual lazy narrative from Jenkins is that the government has got nearly everything wrong, with perhaps the odd exception. I wonder if he thinks that the sainted NHS has made any mistakes regarding Covid? The first ten minutes had been promising but then it was back to normal with this piece of sniping from the biased politicized BBC.
After discussing making concentrated oxygen widely available (rather than worrying about ventilators) JJ finished with “Whatever we do, it will be too much, or too little, or too late.” Typical negative BBC – in that case, why bother doing anything at all? Presumably because saving some lives is better than saving none at all … !!

Just looking the the number of replies to the Press Office tweets seems to barely get above 10. I complained to the BBC previously about one of their numerous Twitter accounts with hardly any public
engagement and the total waste of money employing someone to maintain it.
Their stock reply was “the BBC try and engage with as many people through many different ways” totally missing the point that the public are not engaging with them at all.

Piece on Sweden busily killing off their elderly in care homes ( familiar story ) . A doctor was introduced for a 30 second set of words with the prefix “ right wing critic “
Subtext – is not one of ours so not worth listening to – despite being a medical doctor –
His criticism was that the Swedish government was not doing enough for the elderly . That – apparently – is criticism of a Right wing flavour .
I think both the BBC and NHS have a subtext about the old – they really have little regard for those of whom it doesn’t approve .
The old boy who raised a load of money for the NHS is approved of – but an ordinary non coloured brit? Low priority – you’ve had your life – you are of no value – please go and die quietly – we won’t even putting you in our stats .
I’ve felt this for a long time . And the cover up of care home deaths just re inforces this .
The cover up by the NHS PHE and HMG will carry on well beyond the virus and will be blurred in the coming inquiries .

The ‘get rid of the old’ ball has been rolling for quite a while. I remember reading that some daft old hag in the House of Lords had opined that elderly people should consider euthanasia rather than become a burden on their families or the State. Quite ironic, really, as she was pushing 80 or so and showed no inclination to lead by example.
The push for ‘assisted dying’ also has dark undertones to it when it comes to the aged. I had to write a formal paper on it some years back and was more than a little concerned by what my research uncovered.

A slight conflict of reporting from the BBC this afternoon.
Whilst driving home this lunchtime I caught Jeremy Whine interviewing IDS. Who certainly held his own trying to correct Whine about this country having the highest deaths in Europe.
However this didn’t stop Whine from making his opinion clear that the UK has not dealt with the virus effectively and has the worst record in Europe.
Anyway I get home to find the BBC lunchtime news on, and a reporter showing us the terrible conditions at the Migrant camps in northern France.
She is telling us all about the poor illegals desperately trying to get into our country.
The reason being….. they are afraid of Coronavirus.
Perhaps our roving reporter on the beach in France should have informed them that the UK is the most unsafe place to be, according to their own reports…

that claims to have broken the story that Covid19 grannies were send from hospitals to Care Homes
But it is very light on actual evidence.
I claims “Manchester whistleblowers said they knew of patients being discharged from hospitals into homes AFTER testing positive without doctors or nurses disclosing”
..which of course is illegal, but still the care homes fault cos they can’t go assuming a new admission is Covid-Free.
Mail said there was guidance on March 7th , that 15,000 beds would be needed for Covid so hospitals should clear out some patients.. and on April 2 guidance was given that Care Homes didn’t need to wait for a negative test certificate.

Each hospital is divided into a red zone and green zone
All Covid patients are in the red zone
So there should be no light thing of discharging a patient from a red zone into a carehome willy nilly.
I also think the test thing is a red herring .
A test is no guarantee of a patient’s status
A patient that tested positive on Monday is not necessarily positive on any other day after.
It was said if a patient recovers, then they no longer carrying a viral load.
So if a previously feverish patient seemed well on Tuesday , you could be pretty sure they were safe to leave on Friday.
That recovered patient is a surer negative than someone with a negative certificate
cos if a patient tested negative on Monday but had not had the virus already, that doesn’t mean that wouldn’t be positive on Tuesday.
So the idea that to get into a care home a patient must have a negative cert , but not a positive is wrong.
It’s no use patients waving their negative test results and returning to a care home , rather they might have it anyway.
And thus should have been quarantined on return to the home
It seems Care Homes were not doing this properly.

It’s not just about patients / care home residents – it’s also about various forms of staff – particularly those going from place to place – untested – potentially spreading the virus – with or without PPE or proper training .
Today – apparently – a D of Health minister has said that early ‘experts advice might have been faulty – which I think it was – not by the benefit of hindsite but by the benefit of common sense. It was the published advise Starmer was waving tightly last week .
I think there was so much hysteria about PPE and ventilator and moaning medics that no one gave a toss about Care homes – until comparatively recently .
I know a detailed 3 day exercise on pandemics was Put in a couple of years ago – when Jeremy Hunt was Health Secretary – but either the findings from the exercise were not addressed or just ignored …..
The exec summary of that exercise must be published – as well as how recommendations were managed . From personal experience I’ve found huge efforts going into such big job exercises but a culture of ‘carry on as usual ‘ afterwards with that insulting ‘ lessons will be learned’ as nothing more than words . …..
Thinking more deeply – if this pandemic had been more ‘fatal ‘ perhaps targeting the young as well as the old – I wonder how this country would have dealt with it . ?
I even wonder – when dust has settled – whether the experience will cause those responsible to prepare for the next pandemic –

Stew – I think the staff shortages which existed in peace time were exacerbated in real life by staff self isolating – or even worse – forcing themselves to work through illness .- including Care Home managers .
As for moving from home to home – agencies would worry about filling gaps rather than anything else .
The same applied to agency district nurses – with whom I have battled in the past .
I realise nice bits of the UK maybe better served – but cities ?
Neither the homes or agencies should have been breaking Health and Safety Law.
If the industry was getting overloaded it should have asked the military to be on standby.

No mention of anything else. OK, so she can’t be defined by her time in prison for lying on Huhne’s behalf, but there are other economists the BBC could have interviewed about the economic effects of Covid19 on the UK. Keep it in the family, eh?

However the BBC had her on air less than 6 months after she left jail.
Many of the people the BBC have on air have yet to serve their well deserved time in prison. In more enlighened times, some of them would have shared the fate of Lord Haw Haw for their treason.

I watched an hour long interview on You Tube earlier today.
For the life of me I cannot remember the name of it. But
it was only put on yesterday or the day before. It already has
thousands of hits.
Douglas Murray is being interviewed by two fellows. One
is that intelligent Russian born comedian that showed up
the BBC on their morning TV programme. If I remember
he made one or other of the two munchkins look stupid.
Anyway Douglas Murray told an amazing story which he said
was 100% genuine. When David Cameron was prime minister
he invited the Dalai Lama to visit him at 10 Downing Street.
When the CCP found out they warned the government if
it ever happens again all the trade deals that had been arranged
between China and the UK would be placed in jeopardy. And
they wanted written assurances and an apology. Cameron agreed.
On top of that when the next UK trade mission went to Beijing
they had to grovel by reading out the apology live!
The CCP is now trying to make Australia do the same thing
because the Australian prime minister says that their should be
an independent enquiry into the Corvid 19 virus. New Zealand
is supporting Australia in the bullying in China.
One of the chief Chinese commentators has said of Australia
that they are just a piece of chewing gum on the soles of
the shoes of China and should be kicked off.
Murray went on about how China and its lackey’s use the way
that racism is used against China. When Murray says that China
couldn’t care less about racism , being one of the worst
perpetrators of racism themselves.
By the way I wrote earlier today that I believe that the BBC
is an appeaser when it comes to China. I am beginning to
