Midweek Thread 18 March 2020

How will those living in self isolation because of the Chinese Virus view the Far Left Biased BBC after a few days of enforced listening and watching ? I’m referring to those not regularly exposed to the monster and suffering it for long periods . I think we ll be getting more recruits .

I have just seen the latest UK Covid-19 figures and cannot believe it … er… them:

    2692.

That is an increase of well below one hundred. France has done even better, just two more. Nearly 3,000 more in the USA, though. 🙁

But we are told that Britain now has a population of 60 million.
I think we should consult the bookmakers.

66.5m (in roundish figures – 66.6 would be more round than 66.5 and 88.8 even more so) at the last ‘official’ count, Lefty. Will the bookmakers give us a really true figure, such as 36-24-36?

Now there’s a figure I can appreciate. Mind you, I have to trawl my memory.

Lefty, that rounded figure is, sadly, quite rare these days on planet Earth. One may have to venture into hyperspace, leave our galaxy behind (and all those figure spoiling Galaxy bars as well – yum) and seek Whotoofree 25 which is in a Nebulae so nebulous that it is impossible miss.

May I recommend this website for real-time statistics:

That has more for the UK than WHO (who haven’t updated their count for today) and also more than the BBC who use data from Johns Hopkins Uni.

What about stats for deaths from:
        Cancer
        Road Traffic
        MS
        The Flu.
        The Religion of Peace.

A compare and contrast would be interesting, I may do some research tomorrow.

“new cases in North Macedonia, including a 4-year-old girl who was infected in a kindergarten in England”

The UK counts were updated at 8pm
643 new cases in UK since yesterday – that’s down from 676 the day before
      – total deaths 144 now with a total of 3269 confirmed cases
( UK estimates of total community cases always seen to be 10 times bigger than those confirmed)

      Remember there are 2 counts
#1 Known cos there is known contact route
#2 Real community, estimate cos cases occur in the community with no known contact route or testing… this had reached 20,000

Cos countries are different comparing countries counts is difficult.
eg a country might not be good a tracking contacts so maybe under counting
Likewise their community count estimate might be based on different levels if pessimism.
Dead body count should be the firmist metric.

Yes.Knowledge, skill, ability, experience, effort and dedication are unnecessary. Not to mention the P-P-P word- which is now considered a term of abuse —-PATRIOTISM — there I said it. I dare not utter the N-N-N word. Today diversity is all that matters and we will I am certain, one day, come to very much regret what we have thrown away. Only then will those with foresight will be able to say “I told you so”

An MP breached rules in 3 ways
    – During her son’s trial for drugs offences she used HoC notepaper to write him character reference to the judge.
Saying he was a good boy being paid by the taxpayer to manage her office.

    She felt harassed by reporters
    – so she shouted on camera “Don’t knock my f****** door.
“I should have come down here with a f****** bat and smashed your face open
    – She admitted she poured water on a reporter

    Her punishment is to apologise.

In Portugal TR felt he and his man were being harassed by a man following pestering him outside a football ground, so he gave him a warning and punched him.
The antifa mob are spend a great deal of court resources on trying to get TR banned from every football match for the rest on his life.
