I only watched the BBC for 30minutes today and spotted 2 unprofessional mistakes. Is this due to the “cuts” they have to make?

    1. On BBC News channel at 19:29 they ran a trailer for the Andrew Neil Show on tonight at 19:00 BBC2 which ended at 19:28.

    2. BBC1 The One Show we were treated to 30 seconds of the Pussy Cat Dolls new song with them standing still whilst the viewer could hear the backing track but the singers couldn’t. The presenters had to introduce them for a second time before the BBC technical team got it right.

I often hear Beeboids stating that Al Beeb gets criticised by both sides of the fence, so they “they must be getting their balance about right.”

So are there any readers or posters out there that can point to any evidence of Al Beeb Pro Brexit or Right wing bias ?

Does Lord Adonis read/post here? He thought all the BBC output was pro-Brexit.

The BBC scales measure apples against pears. The ‘apple’ side says ‘you never present our case’, the ‘pear’ side says ‘you don’t present our case enough’.

Another example: The BBC only presents stories celebrating the achievements of girls. One lot of critics says ‘what about the boys?’, the other lot say, ‘only 90% of your programmes praise the achivements of girls’.

Well, it would appear that we can now buy our way out of the climate change crisis.. just use this handy calculator to find out how to reduce your carbon footprint, and take responsibility for your residual emissions.

    ClimateCare carbon calculator

I attempted to do a quick calculation to find the yearly worldwide cost for vehicles. Unlike climate scientists, I used a very low bar for my figures, instead of the worst possible scenario..

Estimate of total buses trucks and cars worldwide, put the figure at around 1.30 billion cars, trucks and buses in 2016.

Multiply by an average yearly miles driven, say 20,000

2.6e+15. Miles driven by all cars worldwide in a year.

    Fuel consumption, say 30mpg

Put this into the calculator (it wonā€™t fit)

    https://climatecare.org/calculator/

Never mind, I come up with this amount.

Ā Ā£2510786856000 Or Ā£2.5 trillion To offset carbon emissions.

Any maths teachers on here to check this?

Anyway we can all sleep safely now….

You may remember the media / BBC furore over the young teenager with a MAGA hat who was accused of arrogance and racism for standing up to a ‘native american’ demonstrator.

(In fact the native american had provocatively walked right up to him and chanted in his face, while he simply stood there. There’s a longer back story involving some very aggressive and offensive Black Hebrew Israelites taunting and insulting the MAGA teenagers.)

But compare the media outrage on that occasion to the complete silence over the much more scandalous incident in which a rapper called YG called a young fan onstage, insulted and mocked him in front of thousands, then SHOVED HIM OFF. His crime? He was a God-fearing Christian and refused to join in the rapper’s chant of “F*CK Donald Trump”. In so doing YG exposed the youngster to danger from the howling mob of fans.

    Tumbleweed on the beeb.

(Mind you, why anyone in their right mind would go to a rap concert is a mystery.)

The Rapper YK Osiris who was arrested for girlfriend battery in November is a different guy.

It looks like the worm is turning against the evil globalists, this just in from Canadaā€¦

Action4Canadaā€¦. (A rapidly growing movement apparently)

“Mission to take back our Country”

As of January 29th the House reconvened and the Liberals are back in business and pushing totalitarian policies meant to disarm, impoverish and silence Canadians. From the contrariwise “Conversion Therapy Ban”, to the attack against legal gun owners, to Trudeau’s most recent threat mandating “licenses for media”, it is all evidence of a government who has no desire to govern a democratic nation.

The list of concerns is long so we must choose our battles wisely. Section 2, Sec 7 and Sec 15 of the Charter is under attack…freedom of speech, conscience and religion, thought, belief, opinion and expression, freedom of the press and of peaceful assembly and the right to life, liberty, security of the person, and the equality of one and all. So called “minority groups” are being used to attack us with military precision. They are using psychological warfare to discredit valid concerns. The UN is behind the majority of the attacks with the intent to crush sovereign nations and build a One World government.

Please review the list (below line) of UN mandates which are rapidly being implemented in response to PM Trudeau signing the UN Global Compact on Migration and Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) in December of 2018. The majority of Canadians are unaware of the ramifications of the commitment Justin Trudeau made when he signed this agreement.

The UN leaders are an unelected body yet refer to themselves as the “Heads of State and Government and High Representatives”. They plan to eradicate world poverty by knocking down borders, flooding the west with refugees, redistributing wealth and ultimately impoverishing western nations who are expected to finance this scheme. Through the creation of a global catastrophe (Climate Change) they are taking control of our resources, increasing taxes, working to remove land rights and forcing citizens into cities. Population control is at the core of every Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) through deconstructing the natural family, sterilizing youth and making it unaffordable for young couples to have children.

However, change is happening due to the hard work of the grassroots movement and people are becoming informed and voting accordingly. As a result, the NDP lost half of their seats in October and the Liberals became a minority government. Wexit is creating quite a stir and provinces both federally and provincially are turning blue (“Conservative”).

In response to all of this Action4Canada is working hard to unite organizations from across the nation to develop strategies and targeting key issues.

    Such as;

LGBTQ Political Extremism – sex-ed resource, conversion therapy bans, DQHS (Drag Queen Story Hours), billions of tax dollars funding the LGBTQ, and LGBTQ public propaganda…crosswalks, flags, stickers and vile pride parades.

    The Political Islamization of Canada

    Gun bans – UN Disarmament

    Euthanasia/Abortion

Faux Climate Change – intended to destroy our resources and our economy

Mandated vaccines – harms of vaccines are being exposed and their relation to the rise of autism. UN World Health Organization caught on camera admitting there are concerns over safety of vaccines.

There is strength in numbers. We need to work together.
    It is a shared responsibility.

    God Bless Canada!

    Action4Canada

Following is a list of UN demands targeting Member Nations who signed on to the UN Global Compact on Migration and Sustainable Development Goals.

Review the The 17 Sustainable Development Goals

    Gender and Transgenderism:

UN Disarmament – Take away guns from legal firearms owners.
Call To Action on gun control.

Mandate Vaccines despite the known harms.
UN World Health Organization caught on camera confirming concerns over safety of vaccines. (Autism for instance has sky rocketed)

UN Global Compact: Removing Canada’s borders and giving financial resources, jobs and housing to refugees. Loss of national sovereignty.

Paris Accord: Carbon tax, no pipelines, attack on Canadian energy industry.

New Urban Agenda: Loss of property rights in urban and suburban areas. Municipal infrastructure and design.

    Forest Management: Urban and suburban.

Water: They want control of our water.

UNDRIP: more attack on personal property rights and how indigenous land rights will be expanded making investment in industry such as pipelines almost impossible. Working outside of our constitution.

There is currently a campaign to create a UN Parliamentary Assembly. This will essentially formalize everything that is already in place. This is the EU on steroids.

Since the unexpected victories of the people in 2016 the liberal Globalists have developed new methods of repression. These include:
      >censorship of social media to deny any platform for non Globalist views
      > use of the MSM to ridicule and demonise all forms of non Globalist world views and to promote Wokism at every opportunity
      >use of the judiciary to imprison individuals and outlaw certain troublesome groups
      > rigging elections
      >closing down of democracy when the people vote incorrectly

Not long ago an ā€˜expertā€™ was wheeled out to impartially ā€˜analyseā€™ the bbc… by the bbc.

    Here is her latest:

ā€œEnders Analysis released this research on 27 February 2020. It has been emailed in full to subscribers. A brief description follows:
A monolith within the broadcasting landscape and the greater UK creative economy, the BBC, instructed by its Charter, is a guaranteed leader of investment in local and quality content, tech, regionality, and diversity
The sectorā€™s balance results in skills, intellectual property and talent naturally flowing from the Corporation to private companies, incentivising ambition and success while allowing the greater environment to flourish. Those that would fill its void offer few of these guaranteed benefits
The efficacy by which the BBC achieves its required objectives is and should be open to questioning and review, however it nevertheless stands as a major and essential contributor to the creative sector, one of Britainā€™s greatest achievementsā€œ

    Imagine oneā€™s surprise.

Hali, working in the NHS was a real eye opener – they could run master classes in ‘pulling sickies’ !!

I witnessed many a nurse who took time off with stress that could run to almost 6 months off ! Six months was the cut off point, and there were those who would pitch up a few weeks before time up, and then a couple of months later would take a few months off again, monitored of course by Occupational Health !!!!

I found this staggering that it could be got away with. In the private sector you’d be out on your ear, but the NHS is a beast on its own where even trouble makers are never given the sack but ‘moved sideways’ to another position out of the way. And they wonder why the NHS needs so much money.

Itā€™s timely that you should say that because on last nightā€™s local news there was a piece about XR protesting at the site of an open cast mine up in County Durham. Thereā€™s lots more coal to be mined there and the company who own the mine have applied for an expansion, predictably a cohort measurable in tens as opposed to hundreds of XR types have pitched up to protest. Now I donā€™t have any skin in the game so Iā€™m unable to comment on whether or not the proposed expansion is good or on what the thoughts of the people who live close to it are. But hereā€™s the thing, NONE of the protestors were locals complaining about quality of life. ALL of the protestors were of the identikit XR variety, dreadlocked, dirty looking, dyed hair, painted faces etc. One of them was a doctor from London but notwithstanding that, and without wanting to offend anyone here, they looked like B- arts students who have hovered from sixth form to Uni to Masters level to whatever else you can do to avoid having to join real life. For heavens sake they ALL had drums, were playing a samba beat and some of them were dancing in a way that they thought was probably tribal and cool but actually was just embarrassing to watch. So these arenā€™t disparate people whoā€™ve turned up individually to complain, theyā€™re organised and drilled……. and hitting drum heads made out of plastic but letā€™s not upset them by telling them.
Anyway my point is that for these people itā€™s a lifestyle. If a local or anyone else had turned up in a suit or work overalls they wouldnā€™t feel that the group was representing them and dare I say they probably wouldnā€™t be made to feel welcome. So much as I resent their presence and worry that they might help more north easterners to lose their jobs, I believe that ultimately theyā€™ll fade away. It might take some time but theyā€™re simply professional agitators and thereā€™s hopefully enough people living real life whoā€™ll eventually be tested past breaking point (like the tube train incident) to help them on their way.

Where pinko politics didn’t work they now try the greenie path.

Either way, despite the inner contradictions in the ideologies, the real politics being forced on us are the proletarianisation of the masses, open borders serving hyper-immigration, extreme social liberalism and huge governmental control over our lives and modes of thought. All for the reward of corporate cronies and the small liberal one-world-minded elite.

The BBC doesn’t do science. #2 In Our Time R4 9 a.m. today.*

The subject is ‘The evolution of horses’. Am posting from memory, which three hours later may be unreliable.

Programme opens with fast talking American academic (a man for a change) who tells us the horse used to be a dog, or more like a dog. Melvin Bragg asks was there grass. No grass, says the Prof. We have been told already about how there was teeming wildlife but the Prof mentions this again and that there were also deer and antelope and impala.

Funny that, no grass and all that teeming wildlife, some of which will be ungulates feeding on grass and stuff. How could it teem without anything to graze on? At which point alarm bells start ringing: Melvin should ask a question of this so-called academic expert Professor but no.

And all that teeming wildlife and no zebra, no donkeys either. Melvin should ask another question. But no.

Time to hit the OFF switch.

    * you may listen again or for the first time at 9.30 p.m. this evening.

Piku, are you really certain that the fossil record can tell you all you want to know about the horse?

My beef with the American academic was not what he claimed to know for sure (subject to limitation above) but his claim that there was no grass but that wildlife was ‘teeming’.

I listened again to the repeat – all of it. Yeah, glutton for punishment. (Bear in mind that it is edited to shorten it to 30mins.) A concession is made later on about types of horse and the presence of donkeys and zebras but again Melvin doesn’t go back to the American Prof for a possible correction on his earlier statement.

There were other errors about the really well-known history of the horse in documented times, eg. Egyptian history.

PS There is a call doing the rounds for a mass cancellation of of the bBc Licence tax…….I understand Rangers supporters are voicing this in retaliation for years of biased reporting and mis-reporting by the bBC about the football club.

I will be pleased to report whether this gathers momentum.

Clare Balding on Radio 4 on one of her walks. She is walking the William Wilberforce way and starts by talking to pupils at WWs old school in Pocklington. She tells the pupils that WW aged 15 wrote to the paper that has become the Yorkshire Post about abolishing the abomination that was slavery. As she didnā€™t know if the letter was published, I assume the information came from the school. She then asked the pupils which modern day campaigner WW reminded the children of. You could almost see her head nodding as a girl replied, ā€˜Greta Thunbergā€™.
The difference is that it was right to stop inhuman treatment of other people, it is wrong to destroy society by pseudoscience. I am not sure which horrifies me the most, William Willberforce being linked by the BBC with Climate Change or the blatant indoctrination by both the BBC and the school.

“Transport Secretary Grant Shapps tweeted that the government would not appeal against the ruling.”

Harrabin tries to appear ‘even-handed’ but concludes, “It’s not clear that’s what MPs intended when they signed up to the 2050 target, but in today’s court ruling, it’s what they’ve got”.

It’s clear that Boris has got them as puzzled as I am where there are a number of possibilities:

    1. I’m deluded in assuming it’s just ‘a popular theory’ (Climate)
    2. Boris has a master plan yet to be revealed
    3. My guess is that it isn’t Cummings but Carrie who is running the country?

It was a pub joke nothing more…and yet a BBC journalist tried to give it wings and turn a joke into a nasty smear….anything goes if Boris is the target it would seem.

Pm @5pm with Evan Davis interviewing a lady about the homeless. (Apparently Boris has given her a lot of money to stop people sleeping on the streets.)
The last headcount of homeless people she said was in 2002 when there were only 500 people sleeping on the streets. I can remember at the time there was talk of the huge efforts, on the night of a count, to put people up anywhere, just to keep them off the books. It was what Tony Blair wanted. Evan helpfully explained that things changed in 2010 so that there are now over 5000 people sleeping rough. It couldnā€™t possibly be a leading question, when he asked what had changed that year. The lady replied ā€˜austerity ā€˜. Neither she nor Evan seemed to consider that austerity was because Labour had spent all our money, as the outgoing Ministerā€™s message for the incoming one made clear.
But Britain is a different place to 2002. Tony kindly allowed many of the worldā€™s poor to move here. I would have thought a realistic person, rather than a BBC man, would have wanted to know how many of the homeless are newly arrived and would it be sensible for them to return home to the support of friends and family. Not the BBC.

And we ALL know if he’d been at an XR Fundraiser or Labour Party event then nothing would have been said. No objections from the MSM, no right wing politicians or spokespeople petty enough to bother.
And let’s not forget in that wonderful new true spirit of forgiveness and inclusivity. people want him to lose his job over it. Letā€™s face it – all that will be achieved by anyone going onto Toady from their enemy government is a ā€˜scalpā€™ for not doing enough .

Can HMG stop the spread ? No .

Can the NHS deal with a widespread outbreak . Probably not cos the ā€˜ health professionals ā€˜ will all go sick .

More coverage or the outbreaks will just speed up panic buying and the like .

The BBC is addicted to the blame game and if they can tie in some failure to lack of preparation because of Brexit they will . So with all that – why bother ?

For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures

They argue that there are natural cycles, over which we have no control, that dictate how warm the planet is. But what is the evidence for this?

During the last few decades of the 20th Century, our planet did warm quickly.

But one solar scientist Piers Corbyn from Weatheraction, a company specialising in long range weather forecasting, disagrees.

He claims that solar charged particles impact us far more than is currently accepted, so much so he says that they are almost entirely responsible for what happens to global temperatures.

He is so excited by what he has discovered that he plans to tell the international scientific community at a conference in London at the end of the month.

What is really interesting at the moment is what is happening to our oceans. They are the Earth’s great heat stores. [Ocean cycles]

Talking about the coronavirus and it was the EU’s health authority on the line….didn’t take long before the BBC’s finest innocently asking the question if coronavirus would kill us all #duetobrexit as we wouldn’t be talking anymore to our EU neighbours and getting all the latest updates on its deadly progress. Naturally the question wasn’t quite so blatant but nearly….however as we’re all going to be killed by terrorists and gun-toting criminals flooding in from the EU as, er, the borders go up, it’s all academic.

Very strange changes appear to be happening in the latest huge onslaught of happy mixed race family ads.

Now the people are shown a bit randomly so itā€™s not too obvious who is coupled with who. Quick switching between characters etc.

The latest Expedia ad flips between solo shots of black lady, black kids, older white man and suddenly an older white woman flashes up so itā€™s not completely obvious what the relationships are.

Still the same unrealistic balance but what looks like an attempt to obscure the message.

I guess this allows them to get the ad past the foul OFCOM gestapo whilst trying to avoid irritating their potential punters.

Very, very silly! And very, very telling!

Couldnā€™t be they have realised they have been losing customers could they?

    • Nodding Dog says:

Certainly been a shift with these adds as you mention and it’s becoming harder for those of us who like to keep tally with who’s dating who.

A while back it was almost always black man white woman but things seem to be leveling off with just as many black woman with white men the consequence of this is even more mixed raced couples on our screens.

Another thing on the increase seems to be second marriages/ relationships such as the Expedia ad white man and white kid with black woman and black kids. Then there’s the Post Office ad with the white woman and what we presume her black lover both on mopeds who go to see his family and she hugs his grandkids like they were her own.If I was in charge of the Post Office I’d be a bit miffed my ad campaign had been hijacked by Marxists! Then again if they’re like most of big corps these days they probably fully approve of all that silly virtue signalling nonsense and are more than delighted with the ad.

  48. pugnazious says:

The irony of Roger Harrabin, the BBC’s climate campaigner, pointing out the stupidity and shallow virtue signalling of politicians who clamber aboard the climate change bandwagon, making hugely consequential decisions because they’re too scared to upset a 17 year old schoolgirl fanatic and too scared to stand up to the green lobby…and now, as Harrabin points out, we arrive at a point where every single government decision must comply with the green commitments these idiots have forced upon us…every single thing….and everyone will be in the Greens’ sights…from businesses, local authorities and even individual people…want a new factory or make a new product, build a new road or a new school, or put a porch on your house….all will have to comply and be net zero.

‘This judgement will fly round the globe quicker than a 747.

More and more politicians worldwide are pledging to make their economies climate neutral, but the Appeal Court judges have shown exactly what this intention implies.

From now on, every infrastructure spending decision in the UK could face legal challenge if it doesn’t comply with the Climate Change Act, which mandates virtually zero emissions by 2050.

It’s not clear that’s what MPs intended when they signed up to the 2050 target, but in today’s court ruling, it’s what they’ve got.’

The BBC of course is complicit in all this as it campaigned relentlessly with highly alarmist and emotive programming, much of it false, that was intended to drive the narrative that the planet is burning and we are in a climate emergency….the BBC that unquestioningly supports and promotes the eco-terrorists of Extinction rebellion, that pushes the climate rants of a school girl whilst attacking, mocking and smearing climate sceptics however well qualified they are, a BBC that spreads complete lies about natural events linking them to climate change in an attempt to terrify everyone such as the bushfires in Australia, and which does indeed terrify children and creates enormous harm to their mental health as they believe they’re all about to die due to the massive scaremongering by the likes of the BBC.

Still waiting for the evidence that carbon is the cause of global warming…..the BBC however is certain of it and we’re heading for a catastrophe….

A meter, as such, just measures what we use so can’t reduce ‘energy waste’.

Now a meter that has the ability to disconnect the supply to a house has real potential! Should the wind stop blowing in the middle of the night and we are down to the last few metres of water in Dinorwig we wouldn’t want to waste it on the plebs, just turn them off and only supply the b***ards who voted in the Climate Change Act!

P.S. It was thought that by putting in water meters people would be careful about how much water they would use.
My local water authority found that consumption by the wealthy customers went up, “we are paying for it, and we can afford it, so we will use it!” (BMWs don’t clean themselves).

        Absolutely

Iā€™resisted the calls from my last energy supplier (Iā€™ve subsequently switched and Octopus Energy have never been onto me about a meter) and Iā€™ve yet to hear a good reason to use one. Hereā€™s the thing, we donā€™t leave lights on or the telly on or the cooker on or anything that can be switched off. Off the top of m head the only things on standby right now in our house will be the Sky box, the fridge freezer (weā€™ve also got an empty freezer in the garage thatā€™s turned off) and one digital clock radio. If we made our house ā€œsmartā€ with devices to turn things off and on remotely and to measure our usage I think weā€™d actually use more power than we currently do to keep these things ticking over. Weā€™ve even gone all LED lightbulbs after finding a relatively inexpensive supply of cool white bulbs from Screwfix. I heard one advocate of meters on the radio a year or more ago who got pinned to the wall by an interviewer (so obviously not on the bbc then) and the best he could come up with was that he can look at the meter as he leaves the house and can tell if heā€™s left a light on! Well pardon me, but surely itā€™s far easier to follow the habits of a lifetime and switch off lights as you go than it is to ignore common sense and build up a new set of habits that make you a slave to technology.
