Weekend Thread 11 January 2020

The Far Left BBC is in a tricky position with regard to the non ‘cooperation ‘ of government ministers going forward to be harangued by BBC employee ‘journalists . Their bias has destroyed their ability to present fair views to the public which pays for them . The BBC is not accountable to the diminishing number of people who still pay for it . That’s got to change .

I wouldn’t suggest for a moment he ‘earns’ it, but his total remuneration is closer to three times that of the PM which just goes to show how underpaid the position of PM actually is.

I’m quite sure that’s how the BBC would like to see the gross disparity in DG versus PM salary, but levelling all their absurd ‘market rate’ pay down to a more rational and moral level would free up quite a bit of cash to make programs instead of repeats.
Novel idea, I know, but worth trying. Others seem to cope with less staff on smaller budgets.

A scribbling and thoughts on the Harry nonsense. He can spend his new time promoting ‘woke’ subjects all he wants but I’m reminded of that wonderful speech in House Of Cards:
“I’m afraid you won’t be of much interest as a commoner. I doubt if anyone will be particularly interested in what you have to say. You have no constituency, you see. No power base. You represent nothing but one talentless, discredited family. And very soon, you won’t represent even that. You will represent nothing. You will mean nothing. You will be nothing.”

It is all very well for you to take the piss out of Prince Harry who it would appear is desperate to be viewed as just one of the proletariat, a regular geezer who we can all relate to. However, I feel sympathy for him because no matter what he does,no matter what he says, no matter where he lives or who his friends are he will not, nay cannot, ever know the joy of being totally skint. He will always be shackled by the curse of the wealth into which he was born. Even if his entire family reject him, which will not happen, he will be sheltered by the swamp creatures who will embrace him as their own and ensure that he has the standard of living to which he has always been accustomed. So be gentle with him, for he will never find what he is looking for because it doesn’t exit. Like so many of our young folks today, he’s just another lost soul I’m afraid.

Like I mention, I genuinely hope that they do make a success of being independent like he claims. Harry and I are the same age and I can see why he wants to be shot of it and live his own life, given that he’s about as liable to be king as you or I.

What I suspect will happen though is that they will for years be reliant upon security paid for by taxpayers while they jet about the place being celebrities, spouting opinions and soaking up the hospitality of other governments. I really do hope I’m wrong though.

‘Former teacher Laura Smith lost the Crewe and Nantwich seat in the December election after two years in the role… The ex-Labour politician told BBC 5 live: “I am not ashamed to be going to the job centre…”‘

‘Ex-Labour politician Karen Lee replied to Ms Smith’s tweet, saying she too was at the job centre looking for work “like you and millions of others”‘

‘Jo Platt had worked in marketing then later became a local councillor. She was elected to represent Leigh for Labour in 2017 and was the first woman to do so, before losing to James Grundy in December.’

All together now – Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

AISI, this ” Ex-Labour politician Karen Lee replied to Ms Smith’s tweet, saying she too was at the job centre looking for work “like you and millions of others” ” suggests that Karen Lee has no idea about unemployment, something that Labour have ignored since mid-1997 and is probably why they lost so badly in December 2019.

The latest unemployment figures will be out soon. Perhaps those Labour Party members who are still MPs might take note.

When you look at the linked stories in the article there’s several, all very similar dating back a year or two. So well done BBC, your campaigning is obviously having no effect whatsoever 🙂

Article on the BBC website about the election for a new leader to head their political wing. Looking at the accompanying photograph of candidates – none of whom I’ve seen read the news or present Strictly Antiques on Ice, incidentally – we have the Four Ugly Sisters plus Goofy and Token. What a pity that there isn’t another one, then we could call them the Seven (Political) Dwarves. Is there no way that Anthony William Hall could change the rules at this point to allow another candidate? After all, he read PPE at Oxford. How about that Greta person from IKEA? She looks like a kind and sincere girl, as President Putin generously admitted.

I know we have all said on here countless times, about the over diversity in proportion of non white people in dramas and adverts compared to the actual population numbers.

But, this anomaly is never ever mentioned by respected columnists in their daily/weekly comments. Possibly too scared of the reaction.

However, today in the d/mail letters, someone has stuck their head above the parapet, and actually mentioned it.

    Here is the letter………

“There is outrage that all the actors nominated for a Bafta are white, and there are calls to give black actors more accolades. But EVERY tv programme and advert seems to include a high proportion of people of colour.

If I was from an ethnic minority, I would be seriously concerned about whether I was being given a role or award because I deserved it or because – as I suspect in some cases, especially on the BBC – it was solely to tick the diversity box. ”

Clearly this feeling is now becoming widespread, and glad that the letter wasn’t deemed too contentious to print.

Oldies are the biggest earners as BBC struggles to find new ideas it says here last Thursday in the Times which is worth repeating here as it conforms what we already know but now it official…!

As the BBC has many ‘private interests’ to line it own pockets, its production arm was hived off to come up with ‘new’ ideas. Rather than the BBC mainstream of ‘stale’ ideas which we all know off. Anyway here are a few observations by the national Audit Office (NAO).

BBC studios were spun out off in 2016 with an aim of flogging BBC shows to rival outlets (and few FreeViews channels). This includes the late lamented ‘Top Gear’ and ‘Strictly Come Dancing. In its report the NAO highlighted its concerns that only four out of sixteen programs make any money in the past ten years. (No kidding Sherlock!) Of those that did make money are the following: ‘The Planets’, ‘Seven Worlds’ , ‘One Planet’, ‘Still Open All Hours’ and ‘Father Brown’. That’s it, folks!

All of the BBC’s ‘other lucrative shows were first produced before 2010. This includes Old variates that refuse to die; Dr Who (1963) Exactly, Casualty (1986) (still there), Countryfile (1988) (spot the sheep), and ‘Silent Witness’ (1996) which what happens when you report a crime in Rotherham.

Incredibly the BBC made £20 million form ‘outside’ (private) contract work but only £406 million from existing BBC work. Weird. This confirms what we already know that the BBC is over reliant on ‘Golden Oldies’. The problem is that ANY independent production companies can do it better for cheaper, faster and there are a lot of them now. Not just NetFlix, and Amazon, many more… with high production values surpassing the BBC.

BBC Studios (which if you think about it is the only unit that actually makes TV programs in the BBC, the rest is BBC Admin and ‘expenses’ and ‘personal pensions’ and ‘private personal contracts’ for the ‘top’ peoples who are in the family political ‘loop’. But even then the BBC studios cannot improve the overall BBC content requests such as ; ‘Songs Of Praise, ‘BBC Proms’ and ‘MasterMind’ all with an expenditure of zilch and earnings of less than zero internationally, locally or otherwise off ‘campus’, its a pointless exercise.

It does say here that BBC bosses are under pressure to come up with original formats that can be sold around the World. Not all BBC shows are actually ‘in-house’ BBC productions. ‘The Planet’ for example is Richard Attenborough private production company. On the bright-side the BBC said it was ‘pitching’ for work from; Apple (fat chance), YouTube (like everybody else) and NetFlix (who have just brought Shepperton Studios. Good luck with that then. This report gives a good indication of the rise and fall of the BBC. Lets not forget that it pitches to ‘private’ channels as an independent (when it isn’t), as it already owns majority stakes in several (more than several) ‘FreeView’ channels funnelling those BBC repeats of faves like Porridge’. Is it any wonder that the BBC is in crisis. It is incapable of making a profit for the UK taxpayer and just about makes enough money to pay itself a generous big fat staff Christmas bonus. That won’t last long. Not when all demand ‘equal’ tips.

Unfortunately that was before; today’s Court announcement that they had decided against the BBC insistence of paying Men more than Women when doing exactly the same job. The effect will be stark, less work for the BBC Studios when the bean counters realise that ‘back-pay’ (going back years) and bloated pensions (must be equal) cannot be paid without a ‘root-and-branch’ overhaul akin to the CoOp. As that cannot happen without a massive TV license increase, we can only watch as the BBC offers us more TV repeats on top of the TV repeats, on top of the BBC repeats.. Some of those old shows were actually worth watching, but that was long ago and an era that the BBC now despises as all things ‘horrid’ of Britain as it contains ‘English’ values, still. The BBC wants the ‘world’ and gets ‘Finchley, Clacton and Hampstead’. Sad really for its past, it will mean it ‘lives-on’, for now, but for how much longer when all BBC staff demand equal pay to those at the very ‘top’ knobs of the BBC, mostly political appointees of left whingers.

For now the BBC can make some money from golden oldies. All that it hates.

A judge has ruled that a female Asian BBC presenter, one Samira Ahmed, should be paid for presenting a Programme, not in relation to the previous male presenter, but in relation to the presenter of a totally different programme.
A massive payout is thus expected (apparently Samira is due an eye-popping £700,000 !!!!!!! ), which will be paid by the BBC and thus by the licence fee payer.
How marvellous it would have been if during my career the costs of any mistakes I made could have been passed straight over to my customers, leaving my pay and profits intact.
But yet again, a statist industry can get it wrong, no-one is accountable, there are no sanctions, management is unaffected, and the public pick up the cost.

Well I for one will support the BBC and its view that social and cosmic justice can be attained and should be attained , next week .
It’s not right that some countries are richer than others due to historic and geographic flukes . Why should Britain be wealthier and more stable than , for example , Iran .
We should spread all the bounties of this planet equally amongst all the people of the world .
This Christmas just gone you may have been disappointed that there was no snow . Yet in Greenland and Siberia there was loads of snow . How is that fair ? Why should children in those places see a white Christmas when children in Birmingham don’t ?
Australians now have the bushfires on a massive scale yet other countries almost taunt them with their floods . Again an equitable sharing would be cosmic justice at its best .
Some areas claim to hold oil reserves . Why should the USA have such an important energy supply but not the Maldives ?
Why should anyone claim the rights to it . Look at Saudi , with the most lucrative oil wells in the world , shouldn’t they be dismantled and some placed in Bolivia ? ( the oil could be pumped from the Middle East to Bolivia whence their oil wells could extract it ) .
So it’s not ” Scotland’ s oil ” it’s everyone’s oil if we are to have social and cosmic justice . And why should they have bigger mountains and scenery than than Peterborough , which is more diverse in population ?
And then there’s the sunshine that some areas of the world enjoy more than others ….,

    3. People are asking the question – what is the US doing in Iraq?
    4. It isn’t about oil because of US energy independence through fracking.
    5. The ‘axis of evil’ observation is still true but US policy (forget the political nonsense that Trump has no strategy) now is to exert financial pressures instead of military might?

“The phrase axis of evil was first used by U.S. President George W. Bush in his State of the Union address on January 29, 2002, and often repeated throughout his presidency, to describe foreign governments that, during his administration, sponsored terrorism and sought weapons of mass destruction”

(This is a response to Beltane right up at the top because somehow the site-comment-kit wouldn’t let me post there, so here it is in all its glory)!

Most of the repeats are only lgtbhsbyuui friendly nowadays, Belters, so they flog the more normal ones on Ebay or Amazon, to add to their bulging coffers.

I have to admit to buying a lot of the older series on DVD, so we don’t have to worry about the ‘actors’ being the wrong shape, colour, etc and can enjoy a normal British production as it was intended before the BBBBC became a haven for wokism, diversity, sjwism, soyboyism, nutgirlism, ‘rap’ism, etc.

(That really was well worth waiting for, Scrobs – Ed).

On the BBC, under “Features and Analysis” is a link called “The Struggle to get a job after losing an election”… which leads to this article… about some poor ex-Labour MP’s who don’t have jobs (yet)…

These ****s have only been out of a job for a month what are they whining about? Surly they should expect to be out of a job for 6-12 months like the rest of us?

Surly they should expect to have to move hundreds of miles away from their family and take a short term contract position like the rest of us, and live in a room in a shared house in an over crowded city?.

Or surely they should f*** off to Lithuania and get a job there since the job prospects in these EU countries are so fantastic? (Of course the EU parliament is no longer a job option for them :))

Furthermore these ****s got their last job by lying to their employer (the voters) by standing on a manifesto of leave… who would employ them,? they are lairs and deceivers.

I hope these festering ****s enjoy competing against the massive number of immigrants they have brought in to destroy wages and create government dependency.

I hope they become broke, and have to move to some s*** hole Islamic town, and that their daughters get “groomed”…. it’d be a fitting outcome.

There’s a man who is bbc though and through.

Note it is not a coffee shop employee who might struggle with regional pronunciation; it is a hated American corporation talking.

Now, speaking of hated corporations, it would be a pity if video of its staff stuffing up names was posted on his thread…

Iran has admitted that it shot down the Ukrainian passenger jet, which was something most people had figured was the case about 10 minutes after it had happened. A horrible occurence and a tragic loss of life. Sadly, one suspects there are those in the BBC who will still wish to defend Iran and attack President Trump over this.

Sometimes it’s just mind bending how the BBC spins stuff . It is approving the fact that the murdering Islamic Iranian regime has finally admitted shooting down and killing 175 people on a civilian aircraft .
They’ve only admitted it because they were found out . The BBC seems strangely content with such mass murder . I’m just waiting for President Trump to get further blamed for it – this will come from Trudeau , Comrade Corbyn , Labour candidates and the BBC .

In other news – the king of Oman died – he was in his 70s but the timing is …suspicious ?

The Telegraph has an article about BBC 5 live – or ‘Radio Sid ‘ as some call it . The article concentrates on the sport and how Purnell – the ex labour Minister who runs the show – wants an ‘under 35 ‘ policy .
So it has got rid of senior sports journos like Poogach , Lyset and others to be replaced by lightweights .

It’s not the biggest deal in the world but such overt ageism is pretty dumb and insulting . It’s also a point that the departing journos are white senior men .

Dumbing down helps our cause -though – because it makes BBC services easier to ‘let go’ and there isn’t the same loyalty or fondness that listening to experts engenders .

A strange combination of propaganda from the world’s formerly most respected broadcaster today, as part of its UN/Food Industry campaign part-inspired by Marie Antoinette (“Let them eat plants or insects”). On the left we have ‘Why I kept my veganism secret from my muslim family’ and on the further left we have ‘Confessions of a slaughter house worker’. Now, most abattoirs really are unpleasant places, but the BBC have (intentionally) missed a trick here: there is no reference to the growing use of unstunned and semi-stunned killing of animals in British abattoirs (Halal slaughter), or the scandal that there is no legal requirement to label meat as Halal. In fact, about the only way to avoid Halal meat in Britain is by sticking to pork or being a vegetarian. In an article concerned with animal welfare, one cannot but help wonder why this might be…

    Bias by omission
A candidate to be leader of the Labour Party – and a potential PM in 5 years – ms Jess Phillips gave an interview to the Londonistan Evening Standard where she said that “unlike Boris Johnson she knows how many children she has “.

Such a comment would , in my opinion , usually be picked up by the MSM because there is a campaign for leadership of the Labour Party –
But in this case – no comment .

Thankfully the field of opponents to Bojo is more than pee poor and all tainted by association with Comrade Corbyn who , as I write , is back on his allotment . – bet he pays the rent on expenses .

I see on State Broadcaster’s front page that their ’cause of the moment’ XR were all upset about their police classification.

I’d thought this was down to the police not to XR? Still it’s another opportunity for free publicity at the taxpayer’s expense.

    State Broadcaster loves its causes.

Maybe they could interview people on the streets in the same way they asked Americans if they felt safer now that Soleimani was dead.

The Telegraph: Woody Johnson says Britain should work “day and night” to secure a trade deal with the US because it will “strengthen your hand” in negotiations with the EU.

Ambassador Johnson said Mr Trump wanted a trade deal and that UK negotiators should “take him at his word”. He added: “Having a trade deal with the US and maybe the five eyes…will strengthen your hand when you are negotiating with your, you know, your closest geographically trading partner, which is the EU.” The ambassador also sought to quash the claims made by Labour [cue Starmer] during the general election campaign that the US want to “buy” the NHS, telling LBC: “No, no and double no.”

So the BBC tells us something that many of us knew from
the moment we heard the news. IRAN had shot down the
Ukranian civil aircraft. Never mind BBC you can still to continue
showing the videos with the captions with “appears” to show
a missile being fired. Or perhaps the hierarchy , editors, sub editors and researchers at the BBC whom support Iran , can write to
the Nobel committee suggesting that Rouhani should get the Nobel peace
    prize for his magnanimity .
