During the Marr interview Boris stated that he wanted to develop a solution to the social care problem with cross-party cooperation and consensus…he said …
‘ Actually I think there is an emerging national consensus about this and that we are getting ready for, as it were, a Beveridge moment in our country when people understand that we do need as a nation to tackle this issue and what we want to do is to reach across politics to bring people together, to take the top …it will be important to work on that issue together. And what we will do is we’ll ensure we have no one who is forced to sell their home to pay for the cost of their care and everybody will have dignity and security in their old age. That is going to be our approach.’
Marr’s response was wilfully to misinterpret what Boris said by claiming…
‘Those are aspirations but they’re not a plan. Those are great aspirations, they’re not a plan, you said you had a plan, you don’t have a plan. ‘
Er…of course it’s not a plan…not a worked out, detailed, dotting all the i’s plan…because he wants a cross party, unified solution that will last whatever party is in power. It’s a plan to develop a plan with the main aims set out.

‘Britain is nearing a ‘Beveridge moment’ with politicians from all parties coming together to solve the social care crisis, the Prime Minister declared yesterday.
The Tory manifesto sets out a blueprint to tackle the problem which leaves thousands of pensioners facing high care bills.
Appearing on the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show, he added: ‘We’ll ensure no-one is forced to sell their home to pay for their care and everybody will have dignity and security in their old age.’
Just watched the new Blade Runner on Amazon and flicked onto BBC News channel and, guess what, they were doing a piece on Ethiopia and Climate Change. Question is, why are they spending so much of their budget on this, is it because it’s the only thing they have complete freedom with? There’s no doubt that the climate is changing but why the scaremongering? No doubt, in the fullness of time these questions will be answered.
