Weekend Thread 30 November 2019

The next 13 days will see a pretty undisguised Far Left propaganda stream from the BBC .
The latest terrorist attack in London will be harder for the BBC to ‘bury ‘ due to its’ very public nature with a lot of broad daylight footage online . We will have to wait and see if the BBC follow the usual pattern of minimising and ignoring the motivation to accord with its own agenda .

We have the news on to see about London Bridge, which is much more important than some silly little brats piddling about with things they don’t understand!

If they’re so keen on making electricity ‘greener’, maybe a little less pocket money each week to help their parents pay the absurd hike in power costs could be one way they could help!

Al-beeb have updated their appeal for eye-witnesses to London Bridge with a warning that any description of the attacker/s as ‘bearded’ will be treated as Hate Crime and will be forwarded to the Met’s Hate Crime unit, as will any reference to Alan’s Snackbar.
They wish to make it clear that they will not tolerate the victimisation of peaceful religionists simply going about their business of murdering infidels as instructed by their scriptures.

Amid the London Bridge terror attack by the usual ‘man’ let’s not forget the insidious bias inherent in the BBC 6 pm news choice of stories.

    1. NPower announce 4000 redundancies ( implication – the nasty private sector – conveniently forgetting all the job creation from the challenger energy companies).
    2. A vox pop in South Wales. The BBC knocks on doors of working class areas and….hey presto…..they all support Corbyn.
    3. Climate change. A school children demo in Manchester and around the world. Unchallenged, the kids are featured speaking all their indoctrinated verbiage whilst clearly having absolutely no Idea as to what thevwords actually mean. Corbyn wants to give them the vote. A defining issue for the anti- capitalist socialists and marxists.

Insidious, relentless bias towards Far Left issues from our laughably ‘impartial’ statist broadcaster.

BBC are currently interviewing a Pakistani Muslim who they describe as an ‘eyewitness’ except he didn’t actually see anything save people running away, and hearing a couple of shots.

Just shows the desperation they have for interviewing the ‘correct’ members of society.

It’s part and parcel of their campaign of deception: the non-sequitur argument that because some muslims are also affected by terrorism, therefore it can’t be islamic.
Now let’s see who is the first public figure to reassure us that it has nothing to do with islam, which is a religion of peace.
(However I notice that there is a growing reluctance to repeat that cliché. Perhaps even the beeb are starting to realise that the public are just not buying it anymore.)

Very amusing watching the BBC wriggle and squirm as it tries desperately to nail Boris as the Tories play them expertly….whilst Corbyn is being, quite rightly, excoriated for anti-Semitism the BBC has spent the last two days essentially discussing themselves and Boris’ no-show on Andrew Neil rather than any Tory policies…the Tory manifesto was designed to be as anodyne and unremarkabe as possible and the BBC has struggled to find a wedge issue that they can use to open up the Tory campaign for effective and damaging criticism. The manifesto was their big hope no doubt…unfortunately the Tory manifesto was conservative and modest with nothing to get their teeth into though they tried to attack the Tories for their ambition to increase the number of nurses by 50,000…which shows the measure of their desperation as of course it has been a central plank of Corbyn’s attacks that the NHS is short 100,000 staff including 43,000 nurses[actual figure is 11,000 vacancies…all positions already have the funding so that’s not the issue]..which he will employ along with hundreds of thousands of other state jobs and a million ‘green’ jobs. You can see the BBC pro-Corbyn machine in operation yesterday as it latched onto comments from the IFS saying even these modest [very modest it says] Tory spending plans may need tax increases…the BBC headlined this all day…but when the very same IFS ran the rule over Labour’s manifesto and said the colossal spending was unfeasible and not credible and would need across the board tax increases the BBC didn’t report that[even the Andrew Neil interview didn’t mention it]…certainly not in a way that anybody would notice and not headlining every news bulletin and making the top website frontpage story.

You have to ask why the BBC is making such a fuss about an interview with Andrew Neil…first it seems that the BBC have a sense of entitlement and second why Neil? Apparently Boris has offered to do one with Marr but this isn’t good enough for the BBC….which must put Marr’s nose out a bit not to mention all those other BBC journos who have already interviewed Boris and must think they are deemed failures as the ‘big guns’ are having to be wheeled in.

The BBC is of course ‘weaponising’ this and ramping up the rhetoric, echoing Labour’s accusations that Boris is afraid of scrutiny…odd huh that Labour says something and the BBC uses that as the basis for their reporting….Labour says the NHS is being privatised and the BBC makes the Tories defend their position rather than Labour justify their claim….Tories critique Labour policy costs and the BBC makes the Tories jusitify their claims but doesn’t ‘reality check’ Labour’s figures….and when the ‘reality checks’ do come they are uber Labour friendly telling us yes there have been criticisms but…it could all work if this and this and this happens….example the tree planting…an enormous and totally unrealistic policy that the BBC’s Chris Mason has decided is doable and makes sense. The BBC has spent three years deriding and mocking the £350 million claim and yet Labour announces massive spending and tells us it’s all funded and that nationalisation will cost nothing and that £58bn [now apparently £100 bn] handed out to Waspi Women doesn’t need to be on the books because it’s a one off payment, massive lies about the cost of drugs and the alleged privatisation of the NHS and the BBC barely registers any interest.

We had Emma Barnett claiming Boris was a coward, that he was bottling the interview…hmmm…apart from the obvious bias implicit in that claim where is the BBC’s note to self about using inflammatory and divisive language that inflames, stokes and fuels political division and polarisation and ends up with the body of Jo Cox on the pavement? The same BBC that happily quoted Wee Shuggy shouting out the alarming message that Boris was ‘dangerous and unfit for office’…..not in anyway inflammatory and divisive language BBC? Obviously not as they used the quote on repeat all day.

Barnett was very vocally attacking Boris for not subjecting himself to scrutiny…hmmm…she had to be reminded by a listener that he’d just done an interview, on 5 Live, that included a long public question and answer session…she waffled that ‘well that was radio…Neil is ‘TV’…kind of damning for her colleague…and herself. And of course she, and her wilfully blind colleagues, completely ignored the fact that Boris has done many other interviews not to mention just having done the ITV debate with Corbyn…not sure how the BBC and Labour can say he is running from scrutiny….and never mind he is about to do …a BBC…debate with Corbyn. LOL.

Clear BBC anti-Tory bias here not to mention a huge dollop of self-regard on their part…but as said the amusing thing is that it could well be a master plan by the cunning Dominic Cummings….all people are talking about in the media bubble is Boris dodging Andrew Neil. The political benefits outweigh any minor downside especially as he appears on other interviews thus blunting those claims he is avoiding scrutiny…it just looks like BBC peevishness and sulky resentment that they have been cold-shouldered.

Boris almost certainly will appear on Neil but I guess only when it suits the plan.

As an erstwhile very left wing OLD Labour man I became converted to a right wing (“racist”????) viewpoint by the antics of Prime Minister Tony Bliar, who made it obvious that his idea of Socialism was not just to support the British working man but to invite into our country anyone who would likely vote for NEW Labour. At present I see no evidence that Mr Corbyn will put Bliar’s policy in reverse, so I have no choice but to place my X in the Conservative box on December 12th. However, at almost 80 years of age this could very well be my last vote but – who knows?

How I agree with you Lefty Wright-Blair was and has proved to be one of the most dangerous traitors this country has known. If capital Punishment was still on the books then he should have executed for his crimes against this nation. It has alway amazed me that not more of his background was known-always seemingly kept hidden by the likes of the BBC et al-Blair was educated at one of the top private schoold in Scotland, he came from an upper class family, somehow alluded his schools CCF, trained as a Lawyer and only was ever out for himself and as was so obviously shown that, day he resigned from the Prmiership, leaving G Brown to hold the empty can. Is Corbyn of the same mould, dam close as he went to Grammar School, then went off to join or shall we say side with Socialism-but let us not forget that Labour never wanted to be part of the European Union, and still Corbyn is not that keen, irrespective of his parties clingingness to the Communist EU. I don’t have much respect left for any of them-I voted to leave the EU having worked and lived in Europe and studied and observed the creeping control that the Union wants for us all. Parliament will be no more if this nation stays wedded to the EU, good bye Democracy.

djaym has angered me. I too was a left wing Labour man, encouraged by Frank Cousins, whom I admired, to campaign for Labour and move from being a constituency party chair to stand for parliament. But during the sixties I took a step in a different direction, more class based, recognizing that the Labour left saw working people as a horse on which they could ride to power. Since then my politics have not been tied to any party but I have constantly opposed the dangerous left. What I said about the image of Corbyn held by Labour supporters bore no relation to Corbyn who I regard as a Trrotskyite stooge. I know he will not reverse Blair’s politicies but that is not what his supporters admit. I thought my point was clear, but apparently turds like djaym misunderstands it.

I’ve taught politics in various universities, even taught a young lad called Mark Mardell, whom I regard as a failure. I’ve been around, published widely and drafted laws in the UK Parliament as well as in Italy, Brazil, Greece and other countries. So I don’t take easy to my remarks on this site to be dismissed as trolling.

The MSM always get excited when there is a terrorist attack . Pictures of cordons , people running about and cops with guns .

Yet the motivation for an attack like the one today isn’t raised – knife attacks – suicide vest – man with beard .

In earlier terrorist campaigns journos would use the “ all the hallmarks of an ( IRA ) attack . But in current circumstances the term ‘ Islamic terrorism ‘ is avoided .

The emir of Londonistan has already called for the election campaign to be suspended . Which shows what a limp xxxx he is . If terrorism can stop a general election campaign it has won .

It will be interesting if any of the ‘ leaders ‘ go down that route and maybe invoke the killing of a labour MP a while ago .

  16. Bagley says:

During the election campaign period, the BBC News website has been profiling the main party leaders one by one. What a balanced, helpful, and informative thing to do for its readership, one may think. However, when studied collectively, the profiles serve as yet another example of how bias is evident in the detail.

Compare the profiles for Boris Johnson, Jeremy Corbyn, Jo Swinson, and Wee Jimmy Krankie to that of Nigel Farage.

Note how Farage is the only one not named in the web page title, reducing the chance of the profile being found during internet searches. Also note how each profile except Farage’s features graphic artwork. Used on the BBC News homepage as the main image for each profile, the artwork served as a vivid, eye-catching lure. The main image used for Farage’s profile, however, is a run-of-the-mill photograph which is not flattering at all. The profile page content isn’t as well presented either, suggesting he (and, by association, The Brexit Party) isn’t worth much effort.

It’s certainly true Farage and The Brexit Party have received minimal coverage from the mainstream media during the election campaign period, but if you were exclusively following BBC News you’d be left with the impression it’s all about the Conservatives versus Labour, the Lib Dems, the SNP, and the Greens. All in keeping with the typical ‘balance’ seen on the Question Time panel week after week.

Note too how some of the images on Boris Johnson’s profile show him with worried expressions and with his head in his hands. Stark contrast to Jeremy Corbyn’s smiles, rockstar-like poses and thumbs-up gestures. The BBC cannot allow anyone right of centre to seem appealing.

Another example I’ve noticed of the devil being in the detail is when the BBC News website looks at the front pages of The Papers. The accompanying comments for each are usually presented as matter-of-fact for anything the BBC approves of and peppered with turn of phrase such as “…claims The Express” and “…says the Daily Mail” for anything else.

Sometimes in its comments, if the BBC feels it necessary it will make known a specific detail not mentioned on a front page, just in case the reader should get the ‘wrong’ impression.

If the majority of headlines in The Papers are negative towards Labour, the EU, the RoP, or indeed the BBC itself (as has been the case several times this year), the other stories or least damaging headlines tend to get placed first (usually from The Guardian or The Mirror).

Obvious or not, the bias is always there.

Imagine a similar terrorist outrage to the ghastly stabbings on London Bridge this afternoon.
A brave citizen confronts “the man”, wrestles him to the ground and then the police come rushing in. The hero of the hour is immediately arrested on suspicion of a hate crime while Mustapha Fagg is whisked away to number 10 for tea and biscuits and an in depth discussion about Islamophobia.
I apologise for putting today’s vile murders across in a jokey fashion, but I don’t think this is so very far from the truth.

They say retaining 19,000 is not ‘more’ nurses.

If the 19,000 nurses are NOT retained then there will be 31,000 more nurses.
If the 19,000 ARE retained there will be 50,000 more nurses.

What’s so difficult about understanding that.

If the kids want to protect the planet I suggest they walk to school, come back home to a house with no heating, no light, no electricity and no modern conveniences provided by planet destroying industry and processes…grow and kill their own food, make their own clothes, make their own entertainment and er…actually don’t even bother with school as they’ll not have jobs to go to anyway.

      And put down those phones.

The real goal of AGW or CC, is not decarbonisation but to make Western people pay massive taxes so it can be funneled to African countries. Its a tacit admission, that Africa’s large population growth rate, coupled with zero or negative growth in African economies, Africa’s problem will manifest itself on Europe’s frontier. Its not Islamisation but Africanisation that frightens – the EU too.

Not sure how much longer the BBC can cover for Corbyn by claiming he isn’t personally anti-Semitic and by avoiding mentioning the endless stream of Labour candidates who are linked to anti-Semitic comments.

Andrew Neil may have mentioned the photo of Corbyn surrounded by the usual suspects but when do you hear them mentioned otherwise on the BBC? Harry’s Place, Guido and others have named and shamed for weeks now but you would look in vain on the BBC website to find any mention everytime they surface.

Now this video has surfaced again in which Corbyn criticises the BBC for its apparent pro-Israel reporting…lol.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7738205/Corbyn-says-BBC-biased-saying-Israel-right-exist.html

He clearly doesn’t think Israel has a right to exist…why?…because it’s Jewish. Does he have a similar problem with the Muslim Pakistan’s right to exist established as it was on a far less legitimate claim than Israel….there being plenty of places for Muslims to go, no country for Jews…and India was safe for Muslism…they had no need of their own country…but bear that in mind for the future here and across Europe as the Muslim population grows and starts to make demands…or rather more demands [Guarantee after the attacks today we’ll be told ‘nothing to do with islam’ and we must beware the islamophobic backlash, Muslims are the real victims and we must adapt society to make Muslims feel more welcome and curtail free speech to…er…prevent more Muslim terror attacks which are surely a symptom of the islamophobic hate directed at Muslims making them reject society and become angry and violent in order to protect themselves…it’s our fault.]

Not sure how saying Israel has no right to exist isn’t anti-Semitic. will the BBC start to tackle him on this in any serious and challenging way?

Or maybe ask about his siding with Iran against Britain and the West in this video…

Just remember that when Ian Austin stated that Corbyn hated this country and always sided with its enemies, the IRA, Russia, Iran, the Islamists and anti-Semites, the BBC refused to quote those words…extremely serious accusations about a man who would be Prime Minister that merit serious investigation…but the BBC refused to publish or rebroadcast them and give them a public airing after the interview. Why?

Stop complaining, it’s only satire and humour from spitting image wanabes. A complaint about the item received this response.

“Thank you for contacting us about ‘Newsnight’, broadcast on 14th November.

We shared your concerns about the opening sequence with the programme team.

Newsnight is a programme which uses satire and humour on occasion as part of its political coverage. The sequence which opened the programme was designed to obviously appear unrealistic, and we do not believe that any viewer who saw the programme would think that what they saw on their screen was real footage.

Instead, the images allowed the programme to make a point about the political pressure that the government might find itself in over the NHS during the election. The programme was well balanced across the totality of its analysis of this issue. We did invite the Conservative party to join us to discuss the situation, but nobody was available.

We hope this helps and we thank you for taking the time to contact us.

      Kind regards,

      BBC Complaints Team”

I would add, I don’t think they even read the complaint thoroughly. Whether the article appeared realistically or not wasn’t the point, it was the very fact that somebody on ‘the team’ considered it appropriate, and a responsible journalistic action to screen a mock video during the run up to a general election.

Already we’re hearing the usual platitudes from the likes of Al-beeb, Emir Khant, Cressida Dickless and Sara Khan (head of the Commission for Countering Extremism).

    1. “These terrorists seek to divide us”. No they don’t. No terrorist ever woke up, tooled up and strapped on his explosive belt thinking ‘I’m going to divide them today’. They seek to kill infidels because they hate us; because their ‘religion’ tells them to; and because it’s the only guaranteed way to salvation according to their scriptures and imams.

    2. “They must not succeed in dividing us”. What this really means is we must not be allowed to point the finger at the ideology behind such acts of terror. We must just keep going and pretend it never happened. We must not ask questions about their real motivation, but keep acquiescing in bovine manner to the asinine ‘explanations’ by opinion formers such as Al-beeb about mental illness, or meaningless clichés like ‘radicalisation’ or ‘the ideology of terror’.

Here’s the indomitable David Wood on the previous London Bridge attack. View it while you can. Sara Khan is already making worrying statements like: “Together we must challenge hateful beliefs and ideologies wherever and whoever they come from. This includes those who are already exploiting this attack to incite and amplify hatred.” Aka speaking the truth about the religion of peace.

Lets hope this is not a Jihadi attack. But if its is , we will hear the usual “this is not Islam ” etc. But along with this, is the shrill claim that Muslims suffer from Britain’s racist culture, as well Islamophobia. Both are made up allegations.

The purpose of such response is not just to garner sympathy and deflect blame, but to make the host society grant demands of “moderate ” Muslims. This is not good for society to function in a peaceful manner.

I also had difficulty finding this site this morning – normally just type in “biased bbc” and up it comes, but this time I had to hunt for it. It seems to have been moved well down the list of suggestions for some reasons.
The spin on this story appears to be about the bravery of those who tackled this wicked bastard – true
Why he was let out of prison early – true
and of course the usual piffle about how London is coming together.
Strangely no speculation as to why he would want to do such a thing.
I think those of you who who have tellies and listen to R4 can now look forward to a plethora of stories about how members of a certain religion are being “victimised”, various “puff pieces” about how members of certain religions are dong virtuous/community acts and of course a new purge on “hate” crime and of course the “far right wing” who are probably the real cause of the attacks.

Probably because they don’t want to judge his motives. Attaching the label ‘terror’ would mean that his motivation was political or religious, whereas attacker doesn’t necessarily mean that , he could for instance just be a common criminal. Of course we all know what his motivation was but the BBC can’t bring themselves to admit it.

  47. Sluff says:

The hard left/ Momentum / Corbyn are about to issue a statement about the London Bridge attack.
I have seen a sneak preview. It reads as follows.

A public enquiry is needed into the racist attack on London Bridge.
It is appalling that a young muslim, going about his normal business, was attacked by a bunch of white racists who tried to hit him with a historical artefact, then fired a fire extinguisher in his face, kicked him in the head, jostled him to the ground and piled on top of him.

We call on the Police to leave no stone unturned in their search for the perpetrators.

This behaviour clearly shows that the evil Tories have deliberately allowed a racist culture to fester and have failed to protect the ethnic minorities who do so much for our country.

We call on the government to immediately declare a ‘racism crisis’ and call on all schoolchildren to strike and demonstrate for three days next week in support. A ‘No to Racism’ rally will be held in Trafalgar Square tomorrow.

You really did need to make that apology as you will have misled readers into thinking the terrorist wearing a suicide vest would have an Anglo name and be protesting about more trees .
Sadly my prediction as to identity and motive proved right – and the prediction that allowing Islamic terrorists out from prison would lead to these murders and even worse .

The BBC will want to distract attention from these murders but will struggle when the identity of the victims are announced . There will be additional horror then .

Labour is using this Islamic terrorist attack to beat up the government over reducing policing numbers – perhaps rightly so .and strangely there isn’t much being mentioned about ‘islamophobia’ and the ‘Islam industry ‘ is predictably silent at the moment – no warsi or Lammy or Muslim council making their usual anti british comments .

The words least used on the BBC today will be ‘islam’ and ‘Muslim ‘ in some naive belief that decent people won’t look at a dusky man with a beard – he is probably a terrorist …

The BBC will also be desperate from an ‘islamophobic incident ‘ so that they can get back to beating up whitee .

Lastly – I won a bet with myself last night – no troll on the cut and paste train at 2am…..

Indeed John why was this disgusting excuse for a human not deprted years ago. People should take time to understand those that follow the teachings of Islam an ideology, so far removed from Christianity or its values. Christendum is dying throughout Europe-Sweden is over run with Islamics, as is Holland, and Germany is being sytematically destroyed by the ravages of Islam. Every day in Europe there are cases of attacks, assaults, on white people by these individuals that, have been given leave to come and stay and be welcomed in that country only to spit in the faces of the generosity offered. It is the aim of Islam to conquer Europe as they once tried to do under the Otterman Empire but were fortunately stopped at the Gates of Vienna in 1683-now those gates are wide open. There is a massive problem brewing BUT no one in authority is paying attention to it but you and I.
