Rick – from memory – the charter isn’t due for renewal for a few years so there is time for reform . The previous DCMS minister spoke about looking at subscription so the conservatives have a view – but I’ve not read their manifesto yet – for what that’s worth .
But I guess the real answer to your question is ‘ not yet’ .

Anyone who reads Douglas Murray’s new book will see this type of story in it…Andrew hasn’t been convicted of anything other than knowing Epstein – along with how many 100’s of others including Clinton…but suddenly he is a pariah..and his past good work goes out the window…
If you think of the political idea of globalists and nationalists then the idea of getting the people to want rid of a monarchy must be high up the globalist agenda. What identifies a country more? The comments on the DM web site on Meghan Markle stories were often visceral about the Monarchy not just the social climber (I am being kind about MM). The stories about Prince Andrew are from the same stable. Yes he has behaved in a sleazy way with young girls but we don’t seem to have similar stories about Bill Clinton who apparently at least 20 times stayed with Epstein.

It is globalism that wishes to have a world government for the (wealthy) citizens of no-where and every-where.
Globalisation is trade and co-operation between globalists in sovereign nations as opposed to an isolationist stance.

JamesArthur, I agree with everything you’ve said about the Prince Andrew / Epstein case. However, he was a bloody fool to continue his friendship with him after his conviction.
I know he’s spoken about his personal sense of loyalty, but the bloke wasn’t convicted of an ordinary felony, but paedophilia…
I think Andrew is probably arrogant and spoiled and clearly used to doing exactly what he wants.

So the fair and honourable thing to do, seeing as the film has been withdrawn by two major cinema franchisers to date – with no doubt more to follow, and probably consigned to history as another costly mistake – would be to deduct the cost from the licence fee and reimburse all those who unwittingly paid for it. And that nice Mr Loach who was probably paid another small fortune as ‘skilled social advisor’ can hand his fee back too.
Of course the biased BBC is going to ensure that a side issue such as Twittergate runs and runs – that’s how it shapes it’s supposedly neutral election coverage, picking away at minor Tory indiscretions while ignoring major concerns about the Marxist cabal running Labour.

Nope. It was a movie called ‘Blue Story’, written and directed by one Andrew Onwubolu, described as a ‘rapper-turned-filmmaker’. It is about so-called postcode gang warfare. And who is behind this contemporary masterpiece? Step forward BBC Films, an organisation that bills itself as “work(ing) closely with filmmakers throughout the creative process, offering rigorous opportunity to new filmmakers and a protected, collaborative space for established voices”. According to said BBC Films, it is an “outstanding, critically acclaimed debut feature which powerfully depicts the futility of gang violence”.
No. Even if that was the intention of those behind it, any film that covers black gang violence has the effect of glamourising it, whether that is the intention or not. As does the BBC’s constant glamourising of the cringeworthy ‘music’ it promotes on its radio stations and openly-racist BBC 1Xtra station. The BBC should not be doing this, full stop, no debate.

Ethical Standards in Politics
Much has been said recently about the standards of our MPs these days, along the lines of “You can’t trust what any of them say any more.” That may be true, but surely standards have also fallen among among political journalists? We are well aware of the continuing interruption of politicians of a particular persuasion, such that they can hardly string a single sentence together. Then there are the journalist “questions” that are so long they could well be arguments for the other side of the divide. I also have noticed a trend towards unanswerable questions built on false premises, “What do you have to say, Mr Johnson, to the five million nurses who won’t be able to afford more than a ham sandwich for their Christmas dinner this year?” Perhaps such a question should be termed a “rigby.”

It is possible. What is very noticeable is that three of the major retailers – Tesco, Sainsburys, John Lewis/Waitrose – have chosen identical themes for their Christmas adverts. Rather than try and out-do each other on how many ethnic, inappropriate and sometimes downright offensive characters they can incorporate, they have gone for something more subtle. They portray a more traditional Christmas from times gone by to reassure the main population – obviously no Christian symbolism, of course – but with a handful of ethnics woven in, just to show they have always been here and part of olde-Britain (no Victorian village would be complete without its 10% BAME characters). This is hardly a matter of accident and no, they do not share the same advertising agency. Rather, someone has sat down and thought this through, much the same as the Nazis did prior to the 1936 Olympics (they removed all ‘inappropriate’ materials for the benefit of foreign visitors). Whilst the BBC will be fully onboard with this, being the BBC they would see a bit of opportunity for some gender-bending and a more ‘woke’ rewriting of history and culture that appeals to the Junior Common Room mentality.
Noting your comment about Nazis removing inappropriate material reminds me of an aquaintance who was contracted a few years ago by a well-know German car maker to remove all connections to Nazi Germany from its photo archive.

Caught a absolutely sickening piece of BIAS / Agenda pushing on BBC Breakfast this morning.
Reporter was in Fishlake. A area badly affected by the recent floods. Amazingly, he managed to turn it into a 4 minute Anti Boris, Climate Change agenda pushing circus.
He was interviewing residents who’s homes were flooded. Asking them if they could trust the Government to listen to them, of course, they couldn’t !!! Boris is a liar, he doesnt know what its like to be flooded. After a few Anti Boris soundbites, he moved the report onto linking the weather to climate change. He asked one bloke if he thought that climate change was the cause of the recent floods and if it will sway his vote at the election, fair do’s to the fella, he said it was just a freak event (correct) and would have no impact on his voting intention. Reporter asks him will Brexit have a effect, the chap said i hope so, you could sense he was a Brexiteer so clearly the BBC didnt want this so cut him off sharpish.
Report ended with them speaking to who else, but Ex-stink-tion rebellion !!! Its all down to climate change, she is voting to make sure she has a future, blah blah blah , music the the Beeboids ears. And with that, the lecture / propaganda ended.

This book by Roger Hargreaves was released in 1972 and nothing at all was said about the title in the intervening forty-seven years.

There’s lots of shows that have been withdrawn because there has been a complaint by some snowflake, sometimes because of only just one complaint. We’ve all heard of this type of reason for not showing something.
Well.
I don’t like swearing on tv which seems to have become quite normal.
F this and F that.
I would never have dared to use such words in front of my parents or in decent company yet they are used in almost every drama (amongst other things) on tv.
Now, if I was a snowflake like lots of the youngsters of today who need safe spaces to run off and cry in when somebody says something that upsets them, could I write to the tv companies complaining about this and would they withdraw every show I complained about?
I think not.
They seem to be very selective with what they regard as offensive.
Of course, I don’t want them to withdraw any show.

It’s just that it’s annoying when the usual bunch of snowflakes seem to control what the rest of us might want to watch.
If they don’t like it and they easily get upset, don’t watch it.
Will they be including, the Major on Fawlty Towers explaining the difference between the Indian and West Indian cricketers or Dell Boys ref’ to the corner “P*ki” shop or even Monty Pythons sketch with the word “N*gger Baiter” used several times. I also remember the ( so called ) comedian Charlie Williams used the term “J*wboy” in one of his jokes on the Comedians, he will probably get a bye being what he was.
I see our beloved Channel 4 was trailing The End Of The F***ing World at the weekend. Such a clever and original title!
Most American films manage to get in a few ‘f’s before the titles and the ‘s’ word can mean good or bad and act as noun, verb or adjective. Neither of which would have been considered polite in mixed company or in conversation with a stranger, yet are now the stock-in-trade of all BBC ‘comedians’.
I never heard expletives on the telly until we got a video recorder in 1981 and started renting films. M*A*S*H? I’d never heard the like from Alan Alda in the TV version. It’s all different now – apparently even the latest iteration of Star Trek has dropped F-bombs onscreen. Beam me the f*** up, Scotty!
I believe Hollywood films will include one F-word to gain a PG-13 certificate at American cinemas – to target a wide (but non-kiddy) audience.

Small toady watch – listening whilst departing blighty – I caught an early exchange between an American journo – how didn’t sound like the usual metro snowflake and our just – about the news that Bloomberg has announced he is standing for president as a democrat .
The exchange concentrated on three key factors which will doom him – namely being male white and rich .
I was a bit taken back by the cavalier discussion of the race and gender bias but it seems okay if it’s a ‘bloke ‘ just don’t say anything about a coloured girl( see eamon Holmes – funny world. ),,….

A video promo on the home page explaining how ‘Muslims can be influential in December’s general election’. Which is just the BBC regurgitating the Guardian article from last week. Which is just the Guardian regurgitating ‘research’ by the Muslim Council of Britain.
The beeb joins “a guided tour of London, which looks at how Islam has influenced culture in the capital, and spoke with Muslim voters on the tour about the issues that mattered most to them.” It turns out the hot political issues that matter most to them are all Islamophobia. Who would have guessed?
How did the BBC respond to a Jewish Chronicle front page earlier this month urging voters to look seriously at Corbyn’s anti-semitism? With a video on the home page showing how Judaism has influenced culture in the capital, and speaking with Jewish voters about the issues that matter to them most?
No, the only videos show Corbyn and McDonnell refuting it all… the latter saying he was “sad about it” and that Labour was doing “everything they asked of us” to tackle anti-Semitism.
All the news, interviews and shouty audiences of ‘ordinary people’ matter not one jot when tribalism is king.

They report that University Lecturers are on strike over pay snd pensions. Well at least one cheer for rightly linking them together (unlike workers in the NHS, schools, who conveniently forget to mention their pension provision when whingeing about pay).
They also report that employer contributions have risen from 18% to 21% of salary.
But what the BBC conveniently fail to do is compare with the private sector.
OK. Hands up all those private sector workers who get a 21% contribution to their defined contribution pension scheme?
Just as I thought. No-one.
And hands up if you have a job for life?
Ditto.
The public sector is consistently featherbedded and the BBC studiously ignore the fact.
as a uni worker, many of us see this strike and its timing as purely political.
as for striking at universities about pensions, we in the office have pointed out they should be picketing the USS offices demanding change as they are the ones destroying the scheme with their complete and utter incompetence.
I dont know if the BBC has mentioned it , but the strike is also about jobs being outsourced to the third world, or in some case outsourced to companies who import the third world to do the jobs on-site.
