    How they play the game!

The Independent (The BBC’s reference site) trumpet….

Brexit: Voters are turning against no deal as deadline approaches, poll suggests

Just a third of voters believe Boris Johnson should crash the UK out of the EU without a deal if he cannot reach an agreement with Brussels over the next three weeks, a poll has revealed.

(This seems to suggest that it refers to a third of all the voters in the UK)

    However it goes on…

And voters are turning against no deal as the Halloween deadline approaches, the BMG Research survey for The Independent suggests.

A quick lookup on BMG research shows they are a private Company and were obviously employed by The Independent for this hit job.

    Also…..

Only 34 per cent of those questioned back a no-deal departure in these circumstances, compared to a total of 51 per cent who said Mr Johnson should extend negotiations, call a second referendum or call Brexit off – all options which he has ruled out.

Those questioned… Hmmm who are they then?

    It goes on…

The survey of more than 1,500 voters between 1 and 4 October found 53 per cent of those expressing an opinion want the UK to Remain in the EU and 47 per cent to Leave.

So there we have the roots of the story revealed. Only 1500 “voters” and no doubt the survey was probably via the Independent readership (58,000 mainly Academics and Media folk) or so and paid for by the Independent.

A similar survey of a different 17,000,000+ other “voters” would I think paint a completely different story if asked.

Just another example of how to puff a narrow attitude of the management team into what they hope becomes influential news in the hope that other lazy media of the same ilk will pick it up and run with it, dropping the small sample size and source along they way

My guess is that any gullible Independent reader who swallows this fairy tale is in for a shock, we are not the stupid folk they assume….

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-no-deal-deadline-boris-johnson-eu-poll-voters-a9146196.html

Finding this sort of trash in the lefty press is like shooting fish in a barrel. Almost every front page story (not about celebrities) is skewed and biased with a not so subtle “message” or “threat” to all us ordinary folk.

My response… Just makes us dig in and even more determined to put you all back in your box.

Opinion poll gives result I don’t like.

So therefore the polling company is corrupt and the poll is wrong. FACT.

Wednesday 23rd January 2019: Question Time, BBC One and BBC Radio 5 live, 17 January 2019

Though a YouGov poll published on the day of the programme suggested a lead for the Conservatives, Diane Abbott was right to describe the overall situation as “kind of level pegging”, and we should not have described Labour as “definitely” behind on the basis of a single poll. We should always report voting intention polls in the context of trend.

The the last referendum to “leave” the Common Market or The European Economic Community in 1975 had either “Yes” or “No”.
Nothing about hard or soft , or deal or no deal. The losers at that time accepted the decision – Thats democracy Mr Blair , losers consent.

IMHO Parliament has deliberately delayed and procrastinated for over three years to overturn the democratic wishes of the people by attrition . Parliament has turned its back on democracy and the people that put them there, it does so at its peril.

For four years I’ve been skipping most of the posts on climate change on this site. It was an issue that was beyond my ability to judge and I do not do group think. So I kept quiet on the topic and marvelled at the scientific knowledge of everybody else.
But thanks to the contributions of Richard Pinder, U2snuff and others, I have immersed myself in the topic. My head has been spinning with Milankovitch Cycles, forcing agents, temperature records, broken records etc etc. I’ve examined the stuff from both sides and have to say that the climate sceptic case wins hands down.
What has shocked me is how obvious a con the climate alarmism is.
Much more than I could have imagined. While I didn’t have much science at school I think that I was lucky in that I read widely on the solar system and the evolution of the Earth between the ages of eight and twelve. That has come in very useful 60 years later!
Alas! I move in circles where political correctness reigns supreme and my conclusions have shocked all my friends. Their initial reaction is one of stunned silence. This is usually followed by “The Science is settled” yadda yadda. I don’t back down.
Am I any happier now that I am a vocal critic of this crazy theory?
No! That the world has fallen for this lunacy that has now decayed into the anarcho-socialist rebellion called Extinction Rebellion depresses me deeply. I was happier not knowing. But now that I do know I find I do have to speak out about it.
        I shouldn’t be doing this.
I should be sitting on my verandah in my rocking chair

Everyone else in my family is ignorant and not interested. They say something vague like “Climate Change emissions” and I say “it’s a hoax, read one of my books”. Otherwise they could not care less. Also, the Trolls on this site seem to have give up and gone away.

But a warning, Milankovitch Cycles are not relevant for Climate Change within the last 200 years and the Daily Express has been taken in by the Groupthink https://www.thegwpf.org/content/uploads/2018/02/Groupthink.pdf
Scientist Piers Corbyn is not part of the Groupthink, but Jeremy is. So look on the Weatheraction website not the Labour Party website.

Scientists wonder how will reality finally break in?

This is my guess: Donald Trump takes Boris Johnson on a visit to the 2020 Heartland Institute Conference to shake hands with Ned Nikolov & Karl Zeller who proved that the Arrhenius hypothesis was a hoax, because it does not work on planets with carbon dioxide atmospheres. Nikolov and Zeller provided the Greenhouse Effect formula that works for all known planetary atmospheres based on Atmospheric mass, gravity and air pressure first suggested by James Clerk Maxwell in 1888, and confirmed by other scientists using the Ideal Gas Law. Using this Theory and proof from air bubbles in Amber that the Earths Atmosphere was between 3 Bar and 10 Bar at the time of the Dinosaurs, also solves many other scientific questions.

The BBC goes mad, Lord Hall claiming that trying to impose Glasnost and Perestroika onto the BBC is proof that both Boris Johnson and Donald Trump are Russian spies. Boris abolishes the licence fee and says that the “BBC should be free to view on Freeview”

Maxincony clearly supports those who are heavily biased against Brexit and working against the interests of the British people.
Hence his support for the biased BBC, an organisation who robs from the poor to give to the rich, who clearly have lots in common with the traitor Bercow.

          Maxi
I’m honoured that you ‘engage ‘ me – my ‘evidence ‘ ? The fact that bercow – who you may not realise is the Speaker of The House of Commons and a backbench MP ‘ has talked directly to the President of The Reich EU parliament . There is no mention that this was done with the assent of the government or even the shadow traitor government – therefore he is ‘interfering ‘.

Perhaps , since you ask me a question which I am answering out of courtesy , you will point me to any bit of Hansard or Erskine May which gives the Speaker the right oR power – in his official capacity to negotiate on our behalf . You might also note that since the president of the European Parliamentbannounced in the chamber that this has happened the Speaker has made no comment , issue no statement explaining the reason for his contact nor the content of it . That in itself speakers volumes for the speaker . Perhaps he will answer to the traitor parliament when it returns .

As moderator I would delete you from this site because you just turn up at 3 in the morning – do a bit of trolly type question ‘bombs ‘ and then disappear . I don’t expect that when you read this you will respond .

Despite my view to delete your account whenever I put it to other users to do say they say ‘no – leave maxi alone – he performs a function ‘ . So I leave it there .

I’m taking it that you approve of the speaker going directly to a foreign state in his official capacity when we are due to leave it in 21 days . ? That he has a democratic mandate to do so – being an overt “remainer “ and thus against the democratic outcome of the Referendum ?

I look forward to your reply about my response – to what I view as a one line ‘troll’ made for you to get some kind of boost to you ego in recognition that you exist ,

Ed & Fed – History seems to show us there is a psychological problem with short men who have big mouths and even bigger ambitions.
If they don’t get cut down to size (sorry) they become really dangerous.
In this case he has been encouraged in his delusions of grandeur by the undemocratic impulses in parliament. It likes to say that it is ‘sovereign’ (stuff the people), and he thinks that -as speaker- he is the embodiment of that sovereignty. I wonder how our actual sovereign would feel, if she cottoned on?
Since democracy is now relatively unimportant, what with this grandious, disconnected, semi-divine body in Westminster, floating in glorious isolation far above common mortals, the PM (one of those mortals) is now a lesser being. He can safely be cut out of the loop.
We now have this sequence in power, in our new, very unwritten constitution:
      1)the speaker;
      2) H.M. The Queen;
      3)The P.M.
Our Public Broadcaster is very much on the side of this new constitutional arrangement. I doubt they will enlighten the sweaty masses, in their smelly nightrobes, preoccupied with ‘Eastenders’, Strictly, wimmins football etc etc.

Hands over your ears remain voters, you do not want to hear the truth.

The EU is a totalitarian organisation determined to be a totalitarian state.
The EU has never negotitiated in good faith with the UK, it has probably never negotiated in good faith with any EU member state.

No they are not listening, in la la lefty land.

Ban and tax our way out of obesity – top doctor

Could it be curtains for the buffet car? Banning snacks on public transport is just one way England’s departing chief medical officer, Dame Sally Davies, reckons the government could act to prevent childhood obesity. Others include tobacco-style plain packaging for junk food, a calorie cap for restaurant meals, adding VAT to products like cakes, and banning advertising of unhealthy food. If the measures sound extreme, so do the figures. The proportion of children deemed obese by their final year of primary school has quadrupled since 1990, with about a third of all year six pupils classed as overweight or obese. The health secretary says ministers will study the recommendations “closely”. But the railway trolley of drinks and light refreshments might be around for a while yet. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has previously expressed scepticism about measures such as so-called sin taxes.

      Ban! Tax!

Maybe XR can get Zion on Breakfast with Naga to see the PR get a ‘proper’ airing?

Maybe the so-called national news broadcaster could ask Dame Sally how many kids hit the buffet car on an Intercity?

42 pupils plus teacher in the photograph, one fatty, two chubbies.

Let them become obese, have poor health and die young, it’s what Darwin would have wanted.

It’s particular grinding how the BBC fawningly refers to this super-annuated Nannyist as ‘Dame Sally’, as though she is some much-loved character of the British people. The only ‘Dame’ this could reasonably done with is Dame Edna Everage. But here’s a more practical suggestion: ban the BBC from promoting and encouraging obese women, which it does with regular monotony, pushing the message that it is okay for women to be super-fat. It is not necessary to push actual fat shaming messages, just stop glorifying it. Not only are these women setting themselves up for future health problems, they are burdening the Beloved NHS (c) BBC and may also run the risk of other future dangers:

The noxious smell of a greasy burger, or the repugnant pong of someone’s Pot Noodle in the same carriage is enough to make me ‘heave’. Smoking has been outlawed, and so should snacking – especially on local trains, when you cant move for the empty sandwich containers, crisp packets and coke cans littering the walkway.
Its not tolerated on European trains, so why should we put up with it here.

digg, the ebola epidemic of a few years ago very nearly spread from Africa to the UK because Dame Sally Davies was more interested in banning smoking in the open air in the UK than in ensuring that awful disease could not reach our shores.

‘Night the Berlin Wall fell was the worst of my life’

It’s one of the most bizarre guided tours I’ve ever been on. I’m driving around Berlin with Egon Krenz – the last communist leader of East Germany. “This avenue used to be Stalinallee!” he tells me as we head down Karl-Marx-Allee. “They renamed it after Stalin died. And over there was Lenin Square. There was a big Lenin statue. But they took it down.”

He looks out of the window and smiles… “I love Russia and I loved the Soviet Union,” he tells me. “I still have many connections there. The GDR was a child of the Soviet Union. The USSR stood by the GDR’s cradle. And, sadly, it also stood by its deathbed.”

Martin Howe QC’s analysis of Parliament’s and the Supreme Court’s “thwart Brexit” moves
A devastating summation by a highly-experienced and respected Queen’s Counsel
      • On Parliament: “It is clear that the current Parliament is no longer legitimate”
      • On the Benn Act: “This is a constitutionally illegitimate law”
      • On the Supreme Court: “This is rule by politicised judges which contradicts and undermines the rule of law”
For a top barrister and Head of Chambers to make the statements he does in this speech is almost unprecedented. In his speech Martin Howe declares the current Parliament to be illegitimate, the Benn Act to be a “constitutionally illegitimate law”, and calls for the Supreme Court in its current form to be abolished. This is heavyweight stuff from a man like him.
Whether Remainer MPs agree with him or not – and of course they will not – we suggest that Mr Howe’s clear and unambiguous statements cannot be ignored.
What a sad indictment of how those who could not respect a democratic decision by the British people have traduced our traditions, our constitutional norms, our laws, and our democracy itself.
It is only by finally enacting the will of the people, and by the UK leaving the EU in 21 days’ time, that we can start the process of slowly rebuilding our great country.
      Mr Howe is absolutely correct.
We do not have a ‘Parliament’ at the moment. We have squatters, and they need to be removed so that we can restore our democracy. Our Constitution that they have left in tatters, along with respect for ‘the law’.
85% of MPs stood on manifestos to respect and implement the referendum result to leave the EU, yet once elected have done everything, including abusing our Constitution like spiv conmen, to undermine, subvert and; overturn that decision. That is obtaining public office by fraud. Intention to deceive.
They refuse to dissolve themselves and face the electorate.
We have seen the open collusion by many with a foreign power to undermine and subvert our democracy. They need to be escorted from the premises and repay every penny ‘earned’ since the election.
We know not quite how many are in receipt of slush funds from vested interests in the foreign power, but we should

You and I have known for a long time that there is a limited time left for the European Union to survive and here is one very poignant reason why-“EU budget for the future – EU budget financing” This has been released for discussion at the EU Council Summit which British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is due to attend next week.
The results make for shocking reading and perhaps show why the EU is so keen to keep the UK in the EU for many years to come.
    • After allowing for inflation, Brexit will account for 21% of the increase in the EU’s next budget from Jan 2021
    • The total real increase is proposed to be €324 billion
    • €41 billion (21%) of this increase is because EU27 countries have to pay more, based on the UK’s exit
    • A new carbon/plastics tax is proposed to be introduced at EU level, to fund the EU
    • EU Defence spending is set to rocket
    • All rebates are to be abolished, meaning richer countries like the UK would pay far more
    • The cost for the EU due to Brexit does not even include the EU’s ‘off-budget’ spend, worth billions
Below we show how much the EU Commission will lose on a Clean Break Brexit :-
    The loss of their legally-unsubstantiated claim of a minimum €45bn ‘divorce bill’;
plus the loss they have now revealed for the next budget period.
    What does the EU say?
In its report, the EU frames the figures in such a way that “Around 1/8th [of the increased budget] is due to Brexit”. In fact, the EU reveals that this is not based on real numbers after allowing for inflation. When put in real terms, after inflation, the true impact is that more than one-fifth of the increase in the EU budget will be down to the UK leaving the EU. It is also worth mentioning that the EU’s proposed budget expects an economic growth of 23% over the period. With most economic assessments now putting the EU’s powerhouse German economy in recession when it reports next month, this growth figure may well prove to be optimistic.
Well one very good reason the UK is getting out and without a deal will suit us better than with anything the EU can drag up-With one major source of income for the EU going, another creeping into recession and another teeteting on the brink, a collapse is quite likely on the cards. However we must keep silenced, those duplicitous little shits wanting to remain and drag the UK down into the mire of nothingness.

tarien, as maxi is about, I would just say I think you need to check some of your sums and facts above. I could be wrong, your research may be more thorough than the dim recall I have from memory.

For example, the EU is funded from VAT, not from indirects. They could change that rule, of course, but I haven’t heard any proposals to that end.

Further harmonisation of VAT practice is scheduled for the next Budget and had UK voted Remain or is forced to stay in the EU against its will, we will have to take an increasing part in that.

Replacement of the UK’s net contribution would be at a rate of about £12bn*/€varies w/forex for the other net contributor nations over a five** year Budget, not €41 billion.

      * or whatever the new net contribution would have been set at, should we be forced to stay

** did I hear via the BBC that this time it is to be a seven year EU budget?

Better than nothing, but one staff member actually doing their job vs. 20,000 others actively not doing theirs still looks like a problem.

Since when was ‘flat out lying’ a Charter requirement?

I think the racist far-left bbc was roped into propaganda production as part of the WW2 war effort and they’ve been at it ever since.

Could it be an example of unintended consequences. Maybe it was useful to our national security while we were at war but someone should have stopped it once the war was over. Or perhaps the racist far-left bbc hierarchy and their fellow swamp rats think they are still at war. And their enemy is now we the indigenous citizens of the UK.

I am still solidly of the opinion that, once parliament had decided to give the voter the choice to leave/remain in the referendum, and the voter chose to leave, the Executive was tasked with implementing the decision.
Parliament (the legislature) did not come into the picture at all, until after the departure, when the Executive would have placed before it the many legislative tasks now required.
It was only when the Tories elected a Remainer to implement Brexit that a ‘no’ to Europe suddenly turned into all kinds of previously unmentioned options: were we saying no to the Single Market, The Customs Union, a ‘deal’ etc? Very cleverly, she took everything back to parliament at the negotiation stage. And the Remainer Civil Service actually did much of the negotiating, anyway. The Remainer Public broadcaster kept us up to date.
Now parliament had the say, and the Executive faded into the background, awaiting its permission to do x, y and z. Added to that mix was the Remainer ‘Supreme Court’ run by Lady Hale, which now had to decide whether the pro-leave executive under Boris, or the Remainer parliament was more important.
In addition, the Remainer speaker took it unto himself to make up as he went along, deciding what could, and what could not, be discussed.
And so we get to where we are now. thoroughly emasculated and in chaos. Germany and much of Europe is stuffed, as the matriarchy takes a firm grip of things. The Merkels, v.d. Leyens, Kramp-Karrenbauers have taken over. And our brief fling with the matriarchy has ended in disaster for us. We are left with the Swinsons, the Soubrys, the Lucases, the Lady Hales, and the many wimmin, who now dominate at the beeb to play a big role in our fate.

Wonder if David could explain why Boris and his No Deal Brexit policy are surging in the polls then ?? Why Conservatives have a massive lead over Labour and Lib Dems and why if he is so sure Britain is now against Brexit, does he not want a election ??????

    Idiot, grade A, bell !!!!!!!!

I’ve just switched on R2 and heard a news item that the new £20 note will feature the artist JMW Turner and his famous picture “The Fighting Temeraire.” Apparently it depicts “a scene from the Battle of Trafalgar.” Presumably this came via the BBC Fact Checker.

I think their fact-checker will correctly find it came from the battle of Waterloo where Mel Gibson valiantly beat Winston Churchill .

Interesting that the subject of that painting was being towed back into the Thames by a new-fangled steamer, having been almost destroyed at Trafalgar…

    ‘Extinction Rebellion’?
    CPS – “Terrorism” –
“Terrorism is the use or threat of action, both in and outside of the UK, designed to influence any international government organisation or to intimidate the public. It must also be for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause.”
    https://www.cps.gov.uk/terrorism
‘Terrorism’ is fully defined in the Terrorism Act 2000.
So why is not ER on the list of proscribed organisations?

    Click to access Proscription_website.pdf

Here is the Government list of 76 proscribed organisations to 12th April 2019. Excluding Northern Ireland (and we know all too well that issue), it is worth flicking through the names and objectives of the 76. I count two which are not related to islam: Basque separatists and National Action.
Of National Action, I quote the Governments description:
“National Action is a racist neo-Nazi group that was established in 2013. It has a number of branches across the UK, which conduct provocative street demonstrations and stunts aimed at intimidating local communities. Its activities and propaganda materials are particularly aimed at recruiting young people.”
All really serious stuff, particularly when compared to similar Government proscribed groups like Al Qa’ida, Boko Haram and Hizballah. If this comparison does not make a total mockery of the claim that the, ‘Far Right’ are as much a problem for the security services as islamic groups, I don’t know what will.
May I indulge you a little further by linking Extinction Rebellion with the description of National Action? –
‘Extinction Rebellion has a number of branches across the UK, which conduct provocative street demonstrations and stunts aimed at intimidating local communities. Its activities and propaganda materials are particularly aimed at recruiting young people.’
But there again, we have come to expect lies and inaction from politicians and in particular those who run the Home Office.

Yes hear hear – I’m staying up really late tonight eager to read our resident cut and paste troll replies to comments ….

World as one – Lady Brooke displayed a fascinating mind set about the EU having a chat to some mouthpiece from the reich about turkey and Kurds and Syria. She kept saying “ we “ in relation to the EU – without much recognition that in 21 days it won’t be “ we “ it will be “ them “ ….

I notice in the Express, Jo Swinson, with her 19 MPs, feels she is important enough to go and speak with Verhofstadt.
With Bercow having set the tone, I suppose that every Tom, Dick and Harry will now rush over to the EU. to undermine democracy.
Or -to bring that up to date- should that be every Harriet, Emily and Caroline?

With reference to the climate change scam, I just want to post this article by Anthony Watts which goes some way to revealing the true reasons behind the evil UN promotion of climate change; it’s part of their plans to install a world government:
