Midweek Thread 11 September 2019

Another anniversary of that World Changing day.RIP
Meanwhile it’s 33 days until Parliament returns and 51 days until the UK leaves the EU .

Will the biased Far Left BBC continue to fight brexit ? will it go into collective mourning if it looks like we are really going ? Will more so called journalists lose the plot ?

Waldegrave is the very walking, talking definition of a left wing, wet, Conservative in name only.

He is typical of the so-called Conservatives of the 1960s and 1970s who thought Britain was finished and that the only way forward was to manage its inevitable decline. That is why these CINOs were all in favour of joining the EEC. They had no faith in Britain. They still have no faith in Britain.

Yes, Britain has a permanent place on the Security Council because in 1945 we were a superpower and had just won World War II. Why France has a place is much more of a mystery. We are still a major world power and leading economy. The permanent place on the SC gives us influence and prestige. Only a spineless defeatist idiot savant such as William Waldegrave would even consider giving it up. But then he has no faith in Britain. He is sadly typical of the sort of Gauke, Grieve or Hammond who refuse to listen to the British people or believe that Britain is a great nation with a valuable voice in the world.

Why can’t these losers just emigrate to Luxemburg and drink themselves to death with Jean-Claude Juncker? No-one will ever miss them, or even notice they have gone.

The efforts all round to halt free speech so far as immigration and so-called ‘refugees’ is concerned, the Globalist/Marxists/Trotskyists are clearly living in constant fear that the ‘Populists’, once they are the overwhelming established driving force, will turn on such people and hastily send them back to whence they came from thus saving on State Benefits, no more housing shortages, no more rustling of thousands of sheep in the Midlands, no more difficulties in obtaining doctors/hospital appointments, no more terrorism,(where do I stop….?) but finally, a reduction in income tax as a result of demands on the State falling dramatically.

Just heard on Katie Hopkins Twitter that she has seen Tommy Robinson and had a conversation with governor of Belmarsh and Tommy is being released over the weekend. He will not come out of normal door but will be released inside the prison gates and driven away from there. They are so frightened that his supporters will turn up to welcome him back. I suppose they don’t want our peaceful, welcoming Antifa to turn up. Anyway welcome back to the mad house that is Britain Tommy and stay safe.

The more you think about what Hitchins says the more you realise that he is right. The quiet and unseen revolution was started by Blair and has resulted in the liberal left Globalists taking control of all of our institutions . Blair’s New Labour types have become the establishment. It allows them to trample over the law if they choose, eg imprisoning Tommy R , or putting thoroughly un British laws on the books eg Hate Speech laws which requires only that someone feels upset , no evidence required. Education, BBC , police, Armed Forces have all gone the same way. So powerful is this new liberal left establishment that many Tories are clamouring to join it! Unless and until they are removed Britain will continue in terminal decline.

.but the Business School ones are often seeming like Double Glazing Salesmen as they give their talks pushing Global Warming and Electric Cars as a magic solutions.
They make bold assertions like calling opposing points a “myth”, without providing any evidence that they are.

There was one African chap pushing the importance of villagers animal farming
which upsets the metroliberals view of the universe that everyone must become vegetarian.
Still I avoild most of the right-on talks like Global Warming, women in science, Jack Munroe , Konnie Huq, etc
cos it’ll be a cult like atmosphere and they wouldn’t be reached by criticism.

We are told by the “EXPERTS” that the planet Earth has been around for billions of years, during which time – “IT IS THOUGHT” – by “EXPERTS” that every conceivable catastrophe has occurred.
We are now told by the “EXPERTS” in no uncertain terms, that because of human activities the planet is doomed.
Well yes, OK, maybe and maybe not.
However, I DO wonder whether the effects of the relatively recent practice of REMOVING from the earth on such an immense scale of, for instance, oil and gas as opposed to the BURNING of these fuels, can affect what occurs under our feet.
For me, the “EXPERTS” will need to PROVE beyond reasonable doubt that these practices WILL destroy the planet, otherwise I will install that extra radiator needed, before the “EXPERT” predicted big freeze sets in, to keep my ancient bones from completely ossifying.

And when the Beeb is reporting on this tiny island and it’s desire to make it big, does it bother to consider whether it will be able to sell it’s product in Europe or will the crippling EU protectionist tariffs prevent it from doing so?

Maybe under WTO it could make it big in a free and independent UK.

Impartial journalism in a polarised world.

    oooo

Kind of lost me at Mark Mardell being a top journo.

Week in week out, the bBBC wheel out a panel of (mostly) remainers who then proceed to show themselves up as hysterical fools. This can only serve to drive folk away.

Let them continue shooting themselves in the foot, I say!

Nice to see the BBC reporting on the Duchess of Sussex on her soap box rabbiting on about ’empowering women’. Something about a charity helping to dress women for job interviews.

Somebody should tell the Duchess and the BBC, that every High Street in the country is packed out with Charity shops which most women scour for clothes to wear, furnish their homes, toys for the kids, and books to read, let alone find something to wear for an interview.

We have shops like Primark, Matalan and Peacocks, where you can get kitted out for under £25, so there’s something seriously wrong if a woman cant put together a decent outfit from their Jobseekers Allowance !

Of course it was launched in London, hardly the impoverished North of England. But nice to see the D of S and her celebrity mates have a project that makes them feel good about themselves.

Sleepless in Kent – again, the R5’struggling to survive’, had a couple of their biased ‘headlines’ spouted breathlessly by a fifth-former.

First, ‘Boris Johnson INSISTS that he DIDN’T LIE to The Queen, when he asked for prorogation.

Hmph – why make it sound like he is on the back foot? The Scottish judges have made one comment, there will be others next week, so why not just say ‘The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson confirms that all legal representation was included in the request for prorogation’? There, bbbc, it wasn’t difficult was it, you didn’t need to mention ‘lying’, or ‘insisting’, both words which have connotations of deceit written in.

Then, to add more bile to the cold cup of sick, they have a clip of the deranged, toxic midget (there I’ve done it, but for me this time), Bercow with some hackneyed public bar gormless ‘quote’, meant to misinform through ignorance.

The rest of the ‘news’ was dire and worthless twaddle.

They really should try to be fairer now. The presenters – apart from Dotun, are pretty dour, dull, and uninteresting. Perhaps the bbbc shove them on to fill in the few hours because most people are asleep (or awake in Kent, or working etc etc).

48 days to Brexit now – suck it up bbbc, get ready for total failure of your attempts to misinform!

    Dotun, have a Knighthood!

Bercow pledges ‘creativity’ to stop no-deal

John Bercow might be leaving his role as Commons Speaker but he’s not going quietly. He says “creativity” will be used in Parliament to prevent any attempt by Boris Johnson to ignore a law designed to stop a no-deal Brexit. The prime minister says he would rather be “dead in a ditch” than ask the EU to delay the UK’s withdrawal from the bloc beyond 31 October, as required by the law which was forced through by backbenchers. But Mr Bercow used a lecture in London to say Parliament would act “forcefully” against any attempt to avoid obeying the law.

If, like MPs, you’re finding it hard to talk about Brexit without getting into a row, the BBC has gleaned some tips on how to “respectfully disagree”.

    ***

The BBC clearly knows impartiality when they see it.

I wonder how many of the ‘tips’ include ‘how to stop Brexit, creatively’?

Downton Abbey the film: 14 things you need to know

It’s been talked about for years and now, finally, Julian Fellowes’ hit ITV period drama is transferring to the big screen. All your favourite characters have returned – get ready for those famous Dame Maggie one-liners – along with a few high-profile new faces, including Imelda Staunton and Killing Eve’s David Haig.

Everyone’s feeling just a teensy bit nervous about the release. Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary, says her first thought about being on the big screen was: “Our faces are going to be much bigger! It’s an extension of the show, just turned up a notch.”

Nursery abuser to be banned from wide area

When Plymouth nursery worker Vanessa George was sentenced for sexually abusing children in her care in 2009, it emerged she had taken up to eight photographs a day before swapping the images over the internet. After a decade in prison, she has been judged eligible for parole. But the Probation Service says it’s effectively banning her from the West Country by using strict licence conditions with an unusually large “exclusion zone”. George will “never be allowed to work with children again”, adds chief probation officer Sonia Crozier.

The BBC R4 this morning is loving John Bercow speech and still asking almost everyone about operation yellow hammer trying to get delays….but few are biting..they have the measure of the BBC
but now banging on about the EU nationals registration scheme- how bad it is…
Funny that – the news yesterday said 1.5 million had been accepted and 300,000 applied in August alone…for a bad system that sound like a pretty good one if it can cope with this number of registrations.
Why do the BBC always focus on the negative?

Now got a retiring Prof chap talking about research funding – the BBC are pushing how bad it will be if we leave EU…he says yes it is ‘bit of a disruption’ but think long term…not what she wanted to hear..
My BBC viewing and listening has virtually ceased and feel so much better for it – but think I have to experience some to keep up my realisation of how crap it is..
