An expert quoted on R4 re the flooding in Yorkshire. “climate change means that we will see more of this sort of thing and that we will have to consider moving people out of some areas altogether”.

I have seen many reports of floods over the years and for that matter quite a lot in Yorkshire and Cumbria which because of it’s position tends to attract heavy rain from time-to time.
I recall the lower floor of my parents house in Staffordshire under 2 feet of water following one such freak storm over 50 years ago.
I also remember the sea flooding a huge area of Lincolnshire in the 1950’s during heavy weather.
I also remember a huge wall of water sweeping down a valley through a Cornish village in the 1960’s after a heavy storm and causing huge damage.
Yes, it’s nothing new or changing at all, it’s weather, out of our control and we therefore take what comes and deal with it.
This sort of approach would be laughable applied to other events: e.g.; someone trips over a broken paving slab. Conclusion “pavements are inherently dangerous we need to work towards eliminating pavements as quickly as possible to save ourselves from this happening again, in the meantime everyone should avoid walking where possible or walk on the road which is much more level”.

Trouble is D, the moderns within every BBC Dept really do believe that most of its viewing/listening audience hate Trump also. The fact that a certain number of its viewers complains is of no interest to them as most of its audience are held captive by the Strictly bug. As Nicky Campbell showed this morning on BBC Radio 5 Live.
The man was behaving like a child behaves when their hippy teacher tells them that the afternoon lessons are being put-off so they can go home early.
He was, giggling so much that I thought he would end his display with a WHOOCHER.
However, his co-presenter was doubtful for its future as she said: but where are the big stars? Don’t think Campbell liked that. She felt that the guests are not stars.
Oh, and the BBC producer of the show promised Campbell she (it was a she) intends to have a female dancer (presumably dancing with another female) on the show very soon. Then she promised she was looking into a Disabled Guest. Then hopefully Mr HUNT MP. She was quite giggly for him to appear on the show, and she kept on naming all kinds of people who are never invited to dance with the stars. So expect the first Transgender star very soon indeed. I hope you can see how the BBC is so in a bubble that they forget us in the real world who pay their wages.

I wouldn’t expect every one them to be grilled every time, but I not seen anything significant.
About six weeks ago, one of the Directors of the company that I work for, who is a staunch remainer, was bemoaning the fact that a referendum is a ‘one off’ but ‘normal’ parliamentary elections occur every five years or so, so why was that the case? His logic was that if there was a second referendum now, it would return a strong remain vote. so why did he have to wait so long? I felt like saying to him that the people who originally voted in 1975 had to wait over forty years for a revote! Obviously didn’t say that as remainers are vindictive and people who have spoken openly about supporting leave haven’t lasted long in the company!
I see the BBC were quick to report that Germany wouldn’t paticipate in any naval mission in the gulf if it was led by the Americans (Trump). I think the BBC forgot to ask if Germany has any seaworthy vessels able to participate? Why didn’t ‘Reality Check’ investigate this? (A quick google confirms that none of their submarines were seaworthy in 2018). Maybe because the BBC hates Trump so much? Oh well, ‘hands up’ for the Belgiums!
Now here is a market opportunity for the BBC, Tony.
In the West, there’s no need to ban TV shows or movies. Just make them unwatchable through historical revisionism and extreme woke-ism, changing the ethnicities, genders and sexual orientalisms and, er, facts. The audience will vote with their feet and pockets.
There’s another connection to the BBC here. Their website today reports that the first official ‘Peaky Blinders’ festival, based on the TV series, is to be held in Birmingham next month. Now, Peaky Blinders proved very popular and gave viewing pleasure to a lot of people, particularly the first couple of series. But without any sense of irony, the creator and writer Stephen Knight tells BBC ‘News’: “…it’s all about historical accuracy. The key is in the fact that we’re trying to be as true to that world as possible, you know..”.
Well, sort of. The series is set in the aftermath of WWI and during the 1920s. In reality, the Blinders ‘peaked’ in the 1890s and first few years of the 20th Century and were history before the end of the Edwardian era. They were predominately a street gang. They did not become sophisticated business men, or engage in machine gun battles with the New York-based Mafia in Birmingham tenements. The Birmingham portrayed in the series reflects the increasing BBC obsession with race: a unlikely black preacher is in season 1, there are mixed race lads in season 2, with the numbers of ethnics increasing with each season as the BBC gain confidence/arrogance in historical revisionism. Expect the next season later this year to continue this approach, with faux feminism and gender manipulation thrown into the mix for the hell of it.
A good yarn and entertainment? Yes, maybe. But historical accuracy? As their former employee George Orwell wrote: “Those who control the present, control the past and those who control the past control the future.”

I watched the repeats recently . It is easy to notice the rapid increase in non white actors showing up as box tickers. I’m sure the next series will stick to reality when the blinders use their helicopter to get to the airport and get Concorde to America in 1924…..
The BBC does seem to have a mental illness about needing to box tick in everything ….. using nazi style propaganda techniques to re form the public ‘mind ‘ – air brushing reality to confirm to its ridiculous multicultural multi sexual view of the world .
Apparently the former Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster in the Labour government of 1929-1931 and Labour MP for Smethwick, aka Oswald Mosley, features in season 5. So, plenty of opportunity there. I’ll be really impressed with the BBC if he’s played by ‘Sir’ Lenny Henry: local lad from Dudley, perfect match I would have thought. Or maybe Thandie Newton, she’s got a nice speaking voice.

BBC Newsnight presenter Emma Barnett stating her opinion many times that the dam near Manchester is damaged “due to climate change” whilst interviewing the man responsible who says engineers are looking into the actual cause right now. She then keeps interrupting him saying he hasn’t done anything to combat climate change.
Then onto the next biased article about NHS drug import delays due to brexit. Whoever the woman ‘expert’ was, was allowed to speak anti brexit as much as she liked without any interruption. She was saying “.. delays at Dover due to brexit, then traffic in the UK, more delays caused by extreme UK weather…”. Of course the traffic in the UK and the weather is never a problem whilst we are inside the EU.
The BBC don’t make any attempt to hide their bias anymore.

A bi election – not quite the victory for remainers. The BBC claimed – the Tory and Brexit Party vote split the brexiter vote leading to a Remain win . The greens didn’t stand and labour came 4th – despite the reason for the election – being a corrupt Tory convicted of fraud .
A 1400 majority for Remain liberals ? In the circumstances – with a 60% turn out – not the positive Remain vote the BBC portrayed it .

At present, they sell material to Netflix and Amazon, so if you want to watch the small selection of decent dramas/documentaries they occasionally produce, you can sometimes do so on Netflix or Amazon within a few months of their airing. As these are streaming services it is not necessary to pay the TV Poll Tax to watch (you do, of course, have to subscribe to such services but this is your choice and gives access to a wider range of programming). By providing material for up to a year and denying it to other services, they hope to make BritBox more attractive and give it an advantage.
BritBox… why don’t they just call it iPayer to complement the iPlayer service? You’re welcome, BBC Marketing department.

I’m not sure the people of Brecon really knew what they were voting for. Surely there needs to be a second vote? Maybe go for a best of three if they still don’t get it right? Plus it’s probably the case that the Russians interfered in the voting – it’s only about 120 miles from Salisbury where they poisoned thousands of people last year.
Note that two parties did not stand ie Plaid and The Greens, both remain parties.

I think Boris’s ego will prevent him from working with Nigel Farage, unfortunately. This could lead to a split in the Brexit vote. Ironically, the Brexit Party splitting the vote could result in a remain victory in the event of a general election.

TODAY Watch #1 – Why the long voices?
I had forgotten about the Radnorshire by-Election. Switched on R4 at 6.40am approx. An air of gloom apparent, very flat voices. Then came the result news in 7am news. Why the gloom, BBC? The Anti-Brexit Party won, albeit with help from the Greens and Plaid Cymru. I visit the BBC web-site and get a breakdown of the results.

Labour vote – the other probably, maybe, possibly, anti-Brexit Party – collapsed and their candidate nearly lost their deposit. The Conservative vote fell. Do I hear BBC cheers? No. The Brexit Party more than made up for it. Then you could also add the UKIP vote to theirs.
Now I understand.
On a high turnout, Labour devasted and add the Conservative, TBP & UKIP Votes together and the disgraced Conservative candidate would have romped home, beating the Lib anti-Dems. Maybe things would have been better for the Labour Party and the BBC had we left the EU in July 2018 or March 2019.

Yet strangely, this factually correct angle does not seem to feature in the ‘news’ from our fine impartial state broadcaster.
Ok. So the EU is the best thing since sliced bread according to our treasured National Broadcaster. So, it follows that as we are constantly being told OUR own economy will suffer from leaving, that the EU economy is in tip top, fine fettle and booming, it must be, the BBC haven’y told us any different. And the EU is the holy grail of growth and prosperity.
Imagine my shock when you have a look at the REAL headlines , not the BBC one sided guff.

Today, however, I’m not so sure. The final episode this morning has the author introduced as Charlotte Bronte! It was quite clear and unmistakeable. Time to send a memo around the BBC, Lord Hall. Instruct everyone at the BBC to switch Predictive Text OFF.

Even if Boris suffers a vote of no confidence, it will take far beyond October 31st to get things organised. Also, I think a recall of Parliament would be required for a vote of no confidence.
