Midweek Open Thread 10 July 2019

So , Ladies Gentlemen and confused .. Thursday marks the sentencing of a journalist after a politically motivated trial in Britain . The BBC will cover it and fight for ‘press freedom ‘ right? Or maybe it’s the kind of ‘press freedom ‘ of which they do not approve . The British State will also want to send a signal to less courageous folk about the cost of challenging what it has allowed to happen – and which is continuing to happen to children in bits of Britain politicians and journalists seldom think of yet alone visit .

I would never recommend a BBC programme – but Wednesday night sees the broadcast of a report on anti semitism in the Labour Party ….

Another BBC fake news narrative bites the dust. Over the last few months there has been an underlying narrative that the BBC was happy to promote that the Tory Party is being hijacked by Brexit extremists from UKIP….Soubry and Co of course were the reliable source for such stories…

‘In recent weeks, allegations have grown that something dark is afoot among the Conservative grassroots. Anna Soubry summarised it this week with a bold assertion: “the majority of associations are being infiltrated by a nationally orchestrated entryism designed to remove rebel MPs who they call traitors”.’

Problem with that? Naturally it was a total fabrication…shame so much of our esteemed MSM media ran with the lies…lies disproven by a new YouGov survey….

‘In total, one in five (21%) of those eligible to vote for the next Prime Minister have recently joined the Tory party and say one of their main motivations for doing so was to get that vote.

But should the party be concerned by this?

Whilst sharing the aims and values of the Conservative Party might not be the main reason they joined the party, that doesn’t mean they don’t, and also doesn’t mean they aren’t still loyal Conservatives. The vast majority of them voted for the party in 2017 (92%) and in 2015 (71%).’

So…most new members voted for the Tory Party in 2017, more in fact that in 2015….so disproves this is entryism based on trying to sway the leadership contest.

TR may be transferred to an open prison once he has been processed.

If not, questions will have to be asked.

    • Fedup2 says:

Dover – I don’t think Open prisons have solitary confinement – which is about the only place he might just be ‘safe’ – although corrupt prison staff can be paid to get to him . Apparently it’s not unknown for gangs in prisons to have one of their kin join the prison service to help run things .

And if race /religion is involved they’ll get the same sort of protection afforded to the Muslim paedophile rape gangs – if their not related to them ….

  3. Emmanuel Goldstein says:

If the Labour Party want to be free of anti-semitism there’s a simple way to achieve this.

Get Shami to look into it and have a full investigation.
I’m sure we will all be relieved when, a couple of weeks later, we will find out that there is no anti-semitism in the Labour Party.

By the way, what’s next up from Baroness?

    • LynetteO says:

THe BBC morphed into the Teheran Broadcasting Association when the Today programme gave a very soft interview to an Iranian academic and allowed him to spew anti British propaganda . It was as if they had invited Lord Haw Haw to London in WW2 to attack Churchill .

The BBoid was feeding him the line that Britian was cowtowing to Trump. The BBoid even led the Iranian to accuse Britain of following the US because of Brexit. It accused Britain of ramping up the Iranian crisis in the gulf by sending another destroyer when in fact HMS Duncan is going out to replace HMS Monrose to mantain a continuous presence.

The question that a national broadcaster should have asked on behalf of the British people was about the Iranian radioactive material that they found proving that Iran has been decieving the world.

      • Up2snuff says:

Lynette, good spot. I noticed that, too.

Just to re-assure you, Rumpole was on his feet several times with his eyebrows threatening to hit the Court Room ceiling fan: “M’Lud, leading?” “M’lud, m’learned friend is once again leading the witness.” “M’Lud, I object most strongly, Counsel is leading!”

Unfortunately, LCJ Radio-Speaker is getting a bit deaf in his old age, and the Prosecution was allowed to go on asking leading questions. Mardell is such a TOAD it is something of a wonder that the BBC don’t get him in to work on a certain R4 programme from 6a.m. to 9a.m. every weekday. He is well suited.

Mardell could also have asked about whether the Iranians need nuclear for electricity generation (they do) and whether their ‘threat’ to set all the oil & gas wells ablaze in the M-E, starting with their own I presume, might have a distinctly damaging effect on the Iranian-already-in-trouble-economy.

      • JamesArthur says:

Yep – they sure did let him say whatever he wanted without much contest..It was the usual excuse to blame POTUS and slag off the UK.

Wilders has no chance of meeting TR or of even being allowed into the UK. The UK is a police state of the progressive left, aggressive left is a more apt title. They are either dumb or in league with Islamist and seem happy to help islamise our country whether we like it or not. The likes of TR and GW, who stand as leaders of the people’s resistance movement , are to be silenced by whatever means necessary and made an example of to discourage anyone who might put their head over the parapet and tell the truth.

  5. fakenewswatcher says:

I see in South Africa Today News that a (predominantly white) farmer has been murdered every 7.2 days in the period between January 2019 and June 2019. My comment between brackets is relevant, in that -regrettably- it largely explains motive.
I doubt that our impartial public broadcaster would be interested in this story.
During the above period, there were 218 farm attacks and 25 murders in SA. Still no story here, of course.
The most dangerous day is Friday, and the most dangerous time between 18.00 and 24.00. Exceptional brutality and/or torture is a common feature. So, for instance, an elderly man was attacked by an armed gang of approx 12 men at Brits, NW Province on 11 July – 6 of whom were armed with handguns, (are we allowed to hint that there could be hate crime going on here? Real hate crime, not the ‘I was offended by…’ variety) seems to be the creation of Zimbabwe 2.0, or perhaps, a little Venezuela…
Lest we think 12 July has been attack-free, a man was seriously injured after being attacked by 4 armed men on a farm near Potchefstroom, 10.00. Nothing to be seen here either, so we’ll move on…
60% increase in farm attacks over the last decade. Wonder why?

Gary showing us the real reason he wants to Remain. So he doesn’t have to queue at the airport on one of his various BBC tax payer funded jollies !!!. Prat.

At the end of the day , these privileged remainer types are only interested in themselves, whether that be travel queues or fat EU pensions and personal subsidies. Horrible bunch.

    • Doublethinker says:

I think that Gary is just thinking of us ordinary folks not himself. It will be many years since he had to stand in a queue on account of him being a star and all that goes with it. I find him the most objectionable person on TV. I can’t bear to listen to his woke nonsense.

    • Up2snuff says:

Doobs, “these privileged remainer types are only interested in themselves, whether that be travel queues or fat EU pensions and personal subsidies.” – you missed ‘or holiday homes in the southern EU States plus maybe an apartment in Prague or Amsterdam or Vienna’.

    • JamesArthur says:

Why does he insist on posting stupid things? For me a blue passport would be worth it as I queue anyway – have you arrived at any of our airports recently? As others have said Mr Lineker hasn’t queued for years so no for him it doesn’t matter..

I normally watch Farage’s LBC show the day after. It’s convenient for me and I can whizz through the adverts. Yesterday’s was about anti-Semitism in the Labour Party. Someone, probably James O’Brien, has made it not available.
O’Brien is an extreme alt-left type who doesn’t like any opinion that attacks Labour or supports Brexit. So he would be the obvious choice. Does anyone have a copy of what Nige said as it appears he may have got his programme over the Labour target and got shot down?

Sheffield Uni wrong to expel Christian social-work student over Facebook not conforming to LibTribe groupthink
In a strongly worded judgment, three judges of the Court of Appeal unanimously reversed a Deputy High Court judge’s refusal to interfere with a decision of the University of Sheffield

\\ university had removed a Christian student from a two-year MA course in social work because he had expressed, on a public social-media platform, his disapproval of homosexual acts based on his religious views.
In September 2014, the student, Felix Ngole, enrolled as a mature student on the course which, if completed successfully, would lead to registration and practice as a qualified social worker. He had completed one practice placement, which brought him into direct contact with service users, and was due to undertake his second placement in the second year of the course.
In September 2015, Mr Ngole posted a series of comments on his Facebook account about a prominent news story on a website in the United States regarding the imprisonment of a registrar in the United States, Kim Davis, for contempt of the order of a Federal District Court. The sentence was a result of Ms Davis’s refusal to issue marriage licences to same-sex couples because of her Christian beliefs.//

Whenever panic struck during a rail journey, “nine times out of 10” he would call Mitchell, who has borderline learning disabilities and whose IQ is ranked in the lowest 1% of the population.

Mitchell, 28, would talk to Pencille – who she called Jimmy – to calm him down and collect him if he had been unable to stay on a train. She would either take him to her flat in Farnham, Surrey, where they lived together, or to a quieter railway station or on to his destination.

She would do his shopping, sending him WhatsApp images of the items she had bought to make sure they were the right ones.

The left-wing descendents of the tiny number of indigenous people in the Holy Land agree, and say that the Muslims should be returned back to Arabia were they belong and the Christians returned back to Rome were they belong. Neither of them had dealt with the loss of their stillborn son, Romeo, who died the previous summer, the Old Bailey heard during the trial.

Mitchell, who met Pencille on a dating website, told jurors their feelings were still raw and the pair had been struggling – the court heard the defendant carried a 20-week ultrasound scan of Romeo in his wallet.

Its known that 86% of the BBC’s “Best scientific experts” did not have any scientific qualifications. BBC Climate science programs have been known to have been presented by Naturalists, Geneticists and Geologists. The last known Atmospheric Physicist to appear in a BBC Climate science documentary was Richard Lindzen. The documentary pitted a sceptic, versus, the believer, the President of the Royal Society. The sceptic had the advantage of being a Professor of Atmospheric Physics from the worlds top university. The believer, Paul Nurse had the disadvantage of not having any scientific qualifications relevant to Climate science as well as violating the 1753 established rule of the Royal Society “Nullius in verba” never to give their opinion as a body upon any subject. However the reason the BBC used the President of the Royal Society was because of his “appeal to authority”

Also, the Senior scientific advisor for one BBC Climate science documentary which elicited complaints from Mensa members turned out to be a computer modeller. Its not known if anyone with a PhD in Atmospheric Physics has ever had any influence at the BBC. Paul Hudson is thought to be the nearest thing to a causational climate scientist employed by the BBC, but he is thought to have been brainwashed by an intensive BBC enviromentalist training scheme by the BBC’s “Best scientific experts”?

They are trying to say, that there PROPER journalists and INFERIOR people

That is if something comes from an AUTHORITY it is true & good.
…but we know that is not true …. you can get a lot of rubbish from experts
    especially in the journalism profession.
There a few good journos and plenty of bad.

A journalist is essentially a messenger
..and in Leeds TR was out messenger, he told us what was happening there. He was our journalist.

You can argue that a good journo brings you an impartial message, whereas others act as propagandists putting BIG spin on it
