No society wants to separate children from their parents but, in my opinion, subjecting vulnerable and gullible youngsters to the doctrine of any religion is akin to child abuse. Why would any modern, enlightened society want the poison, that is Islam, passed onto another generation? China’s actions, if true, should be lauded, not condemned.

    • Philip_2 says:

As of last week the UK high courts have ruled that the word ‘parents’ can be banned by the state for legal protection reasons such as religon or a ‘suspicion’ of child neglect (i.e object) which can mean therefore a failure to comply with a ‘new’ school ‘RSE’ curricullum for the demented. Now can be (will be enforced soon) by a report to the Police – if parents continue to object to LGTQFX agendas and persons not normally ‘invited on school premises’ continue to be the new normal i.e. trans dressed as story-tellers for seven year olds) being currently pushed through in haste against parents wishes. Teachers can be sacked if they don’t sign up to the new RSE ruling and can report ‘parents’ for obstruction or remove parents or pupil from a school as in Scotland here: Scottish school ban.

      • Rob in Cheshire says:

That’s Scottish National Socialism in action. Children belong to the state, not their parents. They will be making children join the Sturgeon Youth soon.

Top man Donald !!!. Just keeps on doing the business. Re-election incoming , can you imagine the lefty meltdown !!! What a beautiful thought .

Snowflake , Obama loving John thought he was onto something. Alas. No. President Trump higher rating. LOL

  3. Emmanuel Goldstein says:

Nothing to do with biased bbc but I wonder what you think.

I’ve just been watching a cookery program (hairy bikers) which seems to follow the same recipe types as just about every other cookery show.
The two main ingredients are sugar and fat.
Heaps of icing, brown, ground or whatever type of sugar (or treacle, syrup etc) together with jugs of double cream, condensed milk, evaporated milk, butter, oil and whipped cream all drowned in various fats and other calorie high stuff.

How on Earth are all these cooks not morbidly obese.

Nigella still has a lovely figure yet all her food must have four figure calorie counts.

Shouldn’t there be more cooking shows which use less ‘bad’ ingredients instead of these fat bomb shows.
We live in a nanny state yet these shows are unaffected while we are told sugar is so bad and diabetes is increasing.

I’m all for free choice in foodstuffs but some balance between healthy and indulgent meals would be nice.
    Maybe after Brexit!

    • Not Gwent says:

I suspect these cookery shows follow Top Gear’s reasoning for mostly testing exotic cars – not enough of us would stay interested if only beige was on offer.

      • Emmanuel Goldstein says:

I see what you mean NG.
Mind, I preferred Top Gear when they were more of a consumer program for motorists and not when they were racing about in millionaire cars.

  4. Not Gwent says:

Our State Broadcaster says there will be an investigation into how Washington embassy memos were given to a newspaper for publication.

There is a stink about all this. Who is screwing with who?

  5. Philip_2 says:

If you have ever wondered who are these people behind the BBC and where do they come from (not the common thrill seeking drug induced staff) but the upper echelon of privilege of class socialism cloaked in liberal values that wend there way into public life into ‘high office’ because of the old school link behind civil service preferences.

Its a job for the (old) boys.
Under the title Times Diary. I learn that ‘plum academic posts’ go to college ‘alumni’: are applicable to (although he has not applied for the post); George Osbourne (ex Chancellor and now head of the ‘anti-brexit’, ‘Evening Standard’ as former director of ‘Brexit apocalypse’ of Cameron team. He is also considering another post as (the new Legarde replacement) for Chief Director of the IMF (as he has made such a big success of his last two roles(!). But then does have nine other part time jobs. But then there is also William Hague, a liberal Conservative and Jeremy Hunt as supposed Conservative (!) who is looking to be our next PM – if we can overlook his past failings in ‘Theresa Mays’ inner cabinet. Ian Hislop is another old Oxford educated alumni with buttered toast and silver spoon who edits ‘Private Eye’ is on speed dial with the BBC quiz shows for his acerbic wit, not being a ‘conservative’ or even ‘Conservative’ he mocks. Finally the last ’old boy’ is the former BBC executive Mark Thompson (now Editor of the very liberal and rich ‘The New York Times’ which he took over immediately before he was sacked (or moved from the BBC) for ignorance and failure to prevent ‘Jimmy Saville’ / from becoming mainstream news. Under Lord Hall’s authority he was directly rewarded £1,000,000 (!) on top of his salary to scarper (only revealed under parliamentary scrutiny committee, during the last BBC Charter Review (2016). In reply to Patricia Hodge (2016) Lord Hall said it was to keep him ‘focussed’ he stated blankly. No further explanation was made the former head of the BBC remuneration committee. This was in the days before OFCOM. All BBC Trustee directors were sacked following a long string of financial irregularities and expense abuses.. The tip of an iceberg and still the BBC is afloat with public money.

Anyway the July 6th Times (Diary) article goes on to state that, George Osbourne is the ONLY one not currently running an Oxbridge College! So if you make the right political BBC approved noises and totally agree with liberal social marxism and hate the democratic electorate as they seem to do (bar Hague perhaps, but then he was not schooled at Eton, which I think was Cameron’s old school). I hope Boris will prove me wrong and is not part of the old school network of chummy fake conservatives such as Cameron clearly was. The current Conservatives glitterati are far more liberal then the Liberals ever were. Conservatives members may be conservative, and that is the only way it will survive. Reversing the liberal conspiracy cannot be done without removing the BBC as the political moderator (which they do effectively by controlling news and current affairs and suggesting green/cultural/social/climate/gender/victim/financial replacements for family and conservatism) and replace it with warm milk of Marxist values

Left Wing Academics appear supreme on all the Universities and Colleges as exemplified by the Magdalen College, Oxford. all are left wing institutions, preferring to ban ‘right wing’ thought such as the highly respected Roger Scrutton (Respected Writer and Philosopher) or Jordan Peterson (Respected writer Psychologist) both effectively banned from Oxford for the ‘wrong’ thoughts on Campus of rejecting inherited liberal ‘marxism’. Not that is makes a blind bit of difference to the real world. But that is how it seems to work at the BBC. BBC old boys network survives for another few years.

Former Alumni include some former famous names (not all were left wingers)

    • Fedup2 says:

The BBC enjoyed reciting the criticism held in the leaked documents allegedly penned by the UK ambo to the USA.
The said ambo has been in post for over 3 years. Being a deeply suspicious character the timing of the leak – as the red Tory election is taking place – might just be a coincidence .

Did the ambo or HMG leak it ?

Is it meant to damage relations to benefit Remainers ?
Does it matter as the White House will be fully aware of the swamp that is the Foreign Office – mirroring the democrat State Department

I suppose the soon to be ex ambo is another one looking for a peerage once he gets his single ticket back to the UK.

As an aside – a second shooting killing in my bit of Londonistan last night and the traffic is still screwed up
I think the local authority might have to add ‘ gum amnesty ‘ to the ‘ knife amnesty’ leaflets stuck to any public object here. Body number 73 on my count .

      • pertelote says:

“I think the local authority might have to add ‘ gum amnesty ‘ to the ‘ knife amnesty’ leaflets stuck to any public object here”

Yes I agree absolutely..it’s an absolute nightmare when you get it stuck to your shoe! However, I’m pleased to see that they must be using it to stick the “knife amnesty” leaflets up!

        • Fedup2 says:

You got me on the spelling – but it would save money time and effort if they did a joint knife , gun and gum amnesty in the same leaflet . They can all be equally ignored as so many of these animals to too good on da Inglish nah waht I meen ?

          • pertelote says:

            indeed Fed..agreed.

Every time someone says or implies what a bad country we are for voting to leave the EU I remind myself which way the rubber boats are going.

      • Fedup2 says:

Nice to see the US of A win the World Series soccer ball contest . I stomached the last 10 minutes of under 15 boys footy followed by a torrent of political twaddle about seeking parity with the real game .

Can’t blame ex footballers from chiming in as they want to keep their seat next to the crisp seller . But boy is there a time and place . The end of a final ain’t it .

        • theleftwilleatitself says:

Fedup my fellow Y*d (is that acceptable)?
There never will be parity will there. We both know it, the world and his wife know it. It’s supply and demand and compared to the demand for the men’s game, there’s comparatively no demand for this nonsense that’s been served up by al beeb over the last month or so!
I say that as someone who hasn’t watched a minute but has watched some women’s football on al beeb over the last ten years. They would plug it like it was must watch tv and you must support our ‘Lionessess’, but is was just piss poor dross played by a group of 11 women who seemed like they’d never met each other before 🤪
And don’t get me started on the shrieky commentating by the females

Amazing , no mention of Brexit ?

    • Up2snuff says:

DB has been rumoured to be in serious trouble, and Mutti Merkel’s Government & the country with it, for some time.

Commerzbank had a close shave back in April.

‘Germany looks set to enter a RECESSION after Europe’s financial giant sees unexpected collapse in industrial production. German industry shocked experts as it plummeted by -1.9 percent in November…German economy slides into negative territory, June survey …’ also:
        FT reports

Germany’s export-dependent economy has slid into negative territory for the first time in nine years, one of the first indexes to assess June shows, as the US-China trade dispute hits it hard …. DB (Deutsche Bank) has several years of problems in the UK, not at all to do with BREXIT and has been fined a number of times, I believe. Details are never broadcast but ‘serious’ fines by regulators over a number of years…

        • Up2snuff says:

Philip, it is said that DB carries a lot of ‘zombie debt’ (possibly some of Italian origin) on its books. First item in Christine Lagarde’s In Tray for Day 1, more Quantitative Easing for the Eurozone.

  10. Fedup2 says:

    Confused BBC ?

The bbc tv news says the the outcome of the Greek General Election with be the ejection of the “populist “ lefty government because it didn’t fight the eU over economic reform .

So now there is to be a middle – right wing government which the BBC describes as ‘ mainstream ‘

Understand ? Well I don’t . I thought that the poisonous term ‘ populist ‘ was applied to any one to the right of the snowflake types which the BBC represents .
It seems that ‘ populist’ hasn’t really got a meaning – apart from an anti democratic term of abuse by the Main Stream Media .

  11. Up2snuff says:

BBC R4 Profile this weekend: Megan Rapinoe.

Much mention, zero criticism, of the footballer ‘taking the knee’ during the American National Anthem.

BBC R4 News coverage past week: opening of EU Parliament for new term.

Much mention, total 100% criticism, of The Brexit Party’s MEPs, all new, refusing to face forward while standing for what is now plainly, without question, the EU National Anthem.

BBC = hypocrites. Even worse, BBC = biased hypocrites.

  12. LastChanceSaloon says:

“Tour de France 2019: The growing number of female amateurs cycling for change”

Another, yes yet another, BBC moanathon, girls are getting hard done by, there is no female Tour de France paying them ££££££££££££££££££££££.

You remember when John Mcenroe said Serena Williams would be ranked 700 in the mens game? Outrage.
Remember Tim Henman? After giving up tennis he took up golf, he played off scratch.
Remember Ivan Lendl? He also took up tennis, he became so good he entered USPGA professional tournaments.

If every talented young sportsman took up tennis there would be millions better than Serena Williams, not 700.

  13. Philip_2 says:

“The BBC has grown into a complacent, self-satisfied bureucratic monolith”– The beeb’s former foreign correspondent Martin Bell on presenters pay. From ‘QUOTES OF THE WEEK’ in today’s SUNDAY TIMES. Are the BBC staff revolting or are they actually just revolting about money?

  14. StewGreen says:

Countryfile is at the Scottish Counry Show
but they choose to preach about recycling instead
Tom is trying to illustrate the problem of contamination
“oh look these bottles are in with the cans”
..this is an example of a TV lie
    cos as the sign shows
It is very common to collect cans and plastic bottles in the same bins
..cos they easy to separate automatically.
Actually when I check he is right that the actual bin does say “cans only”.. so the signage is confusing

    • Fedup2 says:

      Stop the presses

A spectator blog claims that we left the EU on the 1st of June . For legal eagle types do get stuck in . I’ve read it and the interpretation appears to be correct .
Legally we are out ( I know legality can easily be ignored when power want to do so – see ‘ strict liability ‘- which is used when the courts can’t be asked to adjudicate on individuals – such as TR).

    • Deborah says:

I just wondered why Tom Heap wasn’t at Glastonbury looking at the rubbish being left after all those snowflakes had gone home.

      • StewGreen says:

So Countryfile go to a Scots Country show
and when they should be doing COUNTRY stories
contrive to do a consumer item about how people don’t sort their rubbish

  17. digg says:

UK Ambassador and negative Trump leak story, The lefty news are quickly dropping the story now investigations into the leak have been started…..

Lets hope the investigations are not a whitewash and that the truth comes out.

Lets also hope that someone at the Foreign office and at least one reporter and their editor are put in front of a judge quite soon for endangering the state… and an apology made to Donald Trump and the American People.

    Filthy low-life cowards!

  18. G.W.F. says:

Don’t allow the BBC’s negative cover of Boris put you off voting for him.

He does not need the BBC to do this. His policies are beginning to resemble Treezer’s more each day.

Amnesty for illegals. That’s a good one.

  19. JimS says:

Radio 4’s Annika Stranded the World’s most incompetent, over-promoted policeperson continues to amaze that the writer’s PC didn’t implode of boredom, let alone that it should actually be broadcast.

Our ‘hero’ attends a potential suicide case, surely enough to make anyone want to jump before boredom brings on rigor mortis. But no, the ‘jumper’ just wants to play Norwegian folk tunes so that Norway will take in more immigrants and become less Norwegian. Very BBC but apart from that what is the point?

On to Feedback and the arrogant Nick Robinson tells us that we the voters need to listen to the answers that he hasn’t been able to obtain from the politicians.

Nick we have been waiting 40 years for the BBC to question anything about the ‘European Project’, yet the b***dy bus somehow was/is your ‘slam dunk’ moment.

(Should anyone ask, I am kind of a captive listener during these programmes. I realise I should have asked the non-British British David Lammy MP’s permission to use a word that alludes to the days when black men sold black men to white men).

    • Up2snuff says:

I went through the hassle of BBC Sounds to listen to a couple of those, Jim, after the event. Yes, boring and what is more, tediously boring.
