A woman and 3 children under twelve stabbed tonight in Enfield tonight according to the Daily Express.
    By a black man.
    Anything on al beeb……
I ask honestly as I don’t pay for it anymore

    • vlad says:

Yes it gets a mention on al beeb, but certain details omitted, guess which.

Colour is only mentioned by the beeb when BMEs are victims.

Wouldn’t want to reinforce racial stereotypes.

Has it ever occurred to them that there are reasons for racial stereotypes, they don’t just appear out of thin air?

    • Fedup2 says:

I’m guessing this one won’t be excused by lack of youth clubs , austerity , youthful macho culture or post code gang disagreements .

My borough , which neighbours Enfield , continues to have every public space plastered with ‘knife amnesty ‘ signs . I suppose they have to try everything .

Maybe ‘cash for knives ‘ might be better ?

  2. taffman says:

    So much for the EU?
“The labour market also stands out as the EU’s most troubled. Unemployment is the highest at 18% and among young people it is 40%. The percentage of the working age population who have jobs is the EU’s lowest. ”

    • Not Gwent says:

The chosen solution is to force the UK into no deal so as to damp down trade and thus make it harder still to find work.

    • taffman says:

Things could be about to change in Greece? ……………….
“Greeks vote in snap general election”

    • Navets says:

This is the EU that utters words purporting to act in the best interests of the young. The deeds are the exact opposite.
The EU uttering words purporting to represent a fair society with deeds achieving the exact opposite.
The EU stating itself as the bastion against the far right when, in reality, it has far more in common with Fascism than the bogeyman far right it pretends to be fighting against.
Do we hear anything about this by our fearless, truth-seeking, most trusted Auntie? To borrow from rhyming slang, like Aylesbury do we.

The BBC Some Editor is big on belief.

Andrew going out with a bang.

At this rate they are going to have to trap him in the revolving doors until they can remove his security pass.

    • Guest Who says:

Ps: do the bbc have Good Walking Out of Studio Editors and Bad Walking Out of Studio Editors, as they seem to bang on when some do it and go coy when others do.

  5. JimS says:

The Newsnight interview by Emma Barnett and Ann Widdecombe is an excellent example of what is wrong with the media and the BBC in particular.

The EU parliament is of no consequence at all and is only worth reporting on to the extent that it might reveal what the direction of travel is, as expressed by the likes of Verhofstadt, and that there is some opposition ‘sur le continent’ to the great project.

Yet here Verhofstadt is right, Widdecombe is just clowning about and nothing she says will make any difference to the EU. So why is she on the BBC at all?

Well she is there to be told off for some imaginary offence to imaginary people, (neither Barnett or Lammy are offended, they love it). The made-up charge is presented. Widdecome points out that it is metaphor and part of a larger set of examples. Barnett, to show that she isn’t entirely stupid, completely acknowledges the point – and then goes back to it again and again like an idiotic Jack Russel biting the leg of a German Shepherd.

Emma dear, you lost the point, get over it. BBC you lost the EU elections, Brexit, Trump and the general election, get over it.

    • NameNotNumber says:

History lesson for the BBC and the fair and light-skinned Emma Barnett in particular: Slavery doesn’t defer to race or colour. e.g.

‘Circassian girls were described as fair and light-skinned and were frequently enslaved by Crimean Tatars then sold to Ottoman empire to live and serve in a Harem. They were the most expensive, reaching up to 500 pounds sterling, and the most popular with the Turks. Second in popularity were Syrian girls, with their dark eyes, dark hair, and light brown skin, and came largely from coastal regions in Anatolia. Their price could reach up to 30 pounds sterling. They were described as having “good figures when young”.‘

      • BigBrotherCorporation says:

The Algerian and Moroccan corsairs really liked the fair-skinned English girls and boys too, which is why they’d sail up to the English Channel and launch nocturnal raids on the villages of the South Coast.

Missions were sent to negotiate (buy) the release of English slaves held in North Africa, their families would have to raise vast sums in cash, and others saw it as their Christian duty to help raise funds for the poor who couldn’t afford to buy back their own kin.

Unfortunately, if the slaves had ‘turned Turk’ or ‘entered the harem’ of one of their captors, they were considered ‘out of reach’, with many allegedly being disposed of once they’d outgrown their youthful attractiveness, by being tied in a sack and drowned in the sea.

      • Banania says:

Would they really have enslaved Emma Barnett?

    • taffman says:

How much does Emma get paid by the oppressed British people ?
Oppressed by a telly tax that is foisted upon the British people who do not watch or wish to support an un-British Al Beeb? They rob from the poor to give to the rich.

81% spike – where? by whom? Where is the data?
2-5 people – is it 2 or 5? Why aren’t these definite facts?
Middle East – comes to UK where trans is tolerated and complains little about his own origins, but will want those origins implemented in the UK.

  8. MarkyMark says:

So every Muslim that goes to Mecca to celebrate the Hajj supports the Saudi regime financially by giving them money for flights and buying stuff whilst on the Hajj … thus anyone who goes, supports Saudi law thus is supporting transphobic corporation … never mind Nike etc …

Both male and female same-sex sexual activity is illegal. LGBT rights are not recognized by the government of Saudi Arabia.

All muslims should boycott Mecca until there is Justice …. Sadiq Khan and Savid Javid and Warsi and all Muslims should ban travelling until the law is changed in Saudi for LGBT.

    • Banania says:

“…every Muslim that goes to Mecca to celebrate the Hajj supports the Saudi regime…” Similar principle to the TV licence fee.

  9. MarkyMark says:

Every Muslim who has gone to Mecca is a homophobic because:

    1) Only Muslims can enter Mecca, thus it is anti all other religions.
    2) Visiting Mecca funds Saudi government who are homophobic and trans-phobic laws.
    3) Visiting Mecca funds Saudi government who chop peoples heads off in chop chop square.

BREAKING: Sadiq Khan and Savid Javid DEMAND Gay Pride to be held inside the walls of Mecca to show how tolerant Islam to all people of all rainbow colours.

    • theisland says:

Anne Marie Waters of For Britain has started weekly half-hour podcasts. There are three so far and well worth a listen including the last one about apostasy.

The second of these is an interview with ex-muslim and Vice Chair, Kadeeja Adam, about her abusive marriage and attending the Hajj.

    • Despairada says:

How about muslims boycotting Mecca and banning travelling until all other religions are treated equally in every muslim country in the world.

  12. Foscari says:

One of the easiest ways of seeing a BBC agenda, is in sport. The
women’s agenda is obvious to see. The women’sWorld Cup final between USA and Sweden is 100 times more important to the BBC
than the men’s World cricket cup. The tennis at Wimbledon is a bit
different. The ladies singles of course takes pride of place. But
the mixed doubles now is giving the ladies a run for its money.
Of course the BBC is besotted with Serena Williams who ticks
every box imaginable so far as the BBC is concerned. Of course
her escort Andy Murray is part of the equation.
With 75% or more news presenters and reporters and with women
outnumbering men in everything we see , with the exception of
Match of the Day. Even there I believe that Gary Lineker’s days
    are numbered.

    • Not Gwent says:

I spotted the sports report promote women’s football up the order whilst pushing cricket down to rock bottom as “the other World Cup”

Straight after I thought a sofa slug was going to explode with glee on reporting a UK Washington embassy leaked memo critical of Trump.

An impartial broadcaster would have said “they wouldn’t confirm nor deny if they stood by the contents”. Though how would that fit the narrative? Far better to sit there pulling faces.

  13. TrueToo says:

Just saw a tweet posted by the eminent Guest Who on the previous page containing a photo of the royal couple with their newly-baptised boy.

Problem is, the photo is black and white, so whoever took it on whatever device, had to fiddle with the device to switch it from colour to black and white – unless of course they were using an old camera from the 1950s.

So here’s the question – or rather a few of them:

    1. Did the royals instruct the photographer to go back to the 1950s or earlier or did he/she so decide?

    2. If indeed the royals so instructed him/her, were they trying to appear unpretentious, modest and solemn to suit the occasion?

    3. Was the original in colour and did some glitch switch it to black and white as it sped through cyber space to appear on this site?

    4. I’m not well-versed in the Christian faith. Is there some precedent here?

    5. Have I just gone colour-blind?

Ok, I’ll get my coat, but before I do perhaps I should ask the BBC what they think about the photo. Oops, I forgot they must still be sulking over not being invited to the baptism.

Having tried to wax eloquent in the above text, I clicked on the link provided in the tweet and found myself in a website by this Slate guy/girl. Scrolling down, I found a colour photo of the happy couple and presumably-baptised child, so I must apologise for perhaps wasting people’s time here.

Now I really will get my coat.

  15. Panda says:

Why don’t the BBC and Sly news just have Trump bad, brexit bad, migrants good and now Boris bad running on a 24 hour loop because it nearly feels that way anyway.
Think of all those salaries of their top ‘talent’ they would save.

  16. Doobster78 says:

BBC won’t like this …. NOTHING at all to do with Brexit. You can only imagine the disappointment in the newsroom.

Just another company who spread project fear about job losses due to Brexit but turns out it’s just a poorly run business , architect of its own troubles , who tried to hide their failings behind the Brexit banner. Nice to see them being found out for what they really are ………charlatans !!!!

    • Guest Who says:

If this chap is not hired on the spot by the bbc it will be a surprise.

    • taffman says:

Al Beeb uses the headline as part of its project fear agenda . No, Al Beeb will not like it as it has been rumbled.
“You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time”
Hence the fall in its viewing/listening numbers and the fall in license fee subscriptions since its anti-Brexit stance.

  18. Sluff says:

Emily Maitlis is paid hundreds of thousands for working part time, mainly reading an autocue.
Why do I say part time?
Because she has found time to write a book.
There can be no question that any sales she gets will be mainly due to the profile and hence free marketing she receives by appearing on TV courtesy of the licence fee payer.
So (in the interests of the very social justice she and the BBC consistently espouse) would it not be fair that she donates a significant percentage of her book earnings back to the BBC????
What argument against this could there possibly be?

    • StewGreen says:

BBC women surely make more money out of image rights
as women’s photos are bigger and more common in news and magazines.
      … It’s never mentioned.

  19. pertelote says:

..er she’ll be needing the cash for a rhytidectomy pretty soon?

  20. digg says:

I see the usual media suspects including the BBC, Guardian and Independent are all coincidentally running front page with the UK Ambassador to the USA having loads of papers describing the Trump Administration as Inept “leaked”.

Oddly no one in the Civil Service seems to mind this at all!

Surely a top Civil Servant having lots of his documents “leaked” to the press and then he and his whole department shrugging it off should be a hell of a lot more worrying than some bullshit about Trump?

Of course this angle is not mentioned by any of the “investigative” reporters at any of the rags. It seems to smack of sheer collusion to me.

We all know why they are doing it, hoping to goad Trump into stopping any trade deals with the UK and therefore threatening post-Brexit Britain. it’s the sheer arrogance that is breathtaking.

If I were the PM I would be investigating what these diplomats are up to.

    The EU need our money.
With a new Euro crisis pending, the UK could be called on to bail out all the countries who can’t pay

A new 40-page study published by Global Britain makes the EU’s claim for a £39bn divorce payout from the UK seem like small change. It could be 10 times that amount.

“The UK needs urgently to distance itself from involvement and the way to do that is to leave the EU as soon as possible and without a ‘deal’, and certainly nothing based on the Withdrawal Agreement and Political Declaration”

BTW Her own eternal CO2 footprint will come from her SEVEN children. )

    • Lucy Pevensey says:

Stew! Do try to keep up with diversity policy. BBC would never use hallelujah or one of it’s derivatives. Hallelujah is an exclamation of joyful praise to The God of Israel.
From the Hebrew -hallel (joyous praise!) To Jah ( Yah-the name of the Hebrew God YHVH). It’s enough to make a Beeboid’s toes curl!

For the sake of BBC sensibilities please use something like “Allahu Akbar” or Praise Allah. You should name the specific Meccan god whom the BBC serve.

  24. Guest Who says:

    • richard D says:

I, too, caught some of Marr’s programme this morning – specifically the McDonnell puff-piece interview where the hardest questioning put forward by Marr was comparable to Andrex toilet paper adverts – i.e. soft and thick. At the end, Marr was simply reduced to repeating snippets of Labour Party propaganda and asking McDonell to agree with him how super it was.

What (perhaps unnecessarily) surprised me most, however, was on at least one occasion that I saw, when Marr hadn’t even set the context of the next question, McDonnell was nodding knowingly at Marr’s point, and was eager to answer….. before any point, far less a question, had even been put to him.

Now, far be it from me to suggest that perhaps McDonnell had been appraised of the questions he was going to get asked, but also the order in which they would come….

…. but it has been done before – perhaps most notably, for instance, when Hilary Clinton was given previous notice, by the left-wing CNN moderator, of the questions to be asked in the US primaries last time around….

….not that anyone in the alt-left-wing BBC would ever stoop to doing that, of course ! /(sarc) (Marr himself, remember, gave the game away about the BBC’s left-wing proclivites, describing it in some other terms designed to disguise the real political leaning of the BBC.)

      • Wink1 says:

JRM commented on Friday on his LBC programme. He actually went down in my estimation as he approved of the Judges decisions and condemned TR . This is a very clever man who , like many others, hasn’t even bothered to look into any of the background of the case but simply jumped on the ‘racist, ‘nazi’ labels of the MSM.

        • theisland says:

He’s obviously not as ‘clever’ as he thinks he is, nor as ‘clever’ as many of us here used to think. The alternative is that he is complicit. The trouble is most of TBP bunch (the MEPs anyway) would probably agree with him.
          I despair.

          • Oaknash says:

He is very clever and I think complicit is closer to the mark.
This is why the Tories should never be trusted again. The last decent ones have already gone. I used to like Pritti Patel, IDS and JRM. But to be quite honest all their presence in the Tory does now is lend some respect to a party which only really cares about the feelings metropolitan elite and the rest of the country can go hang.
It is why I will never trust this party of traitors ever again and certainly wouldnt trust Boris with securing a proper Brexit any more than I would trust the BBC in telling me the truth.

It is reported that many AfD candidates have been banned in the state elections in Saxony on a technicality. This in the same week that TR was found guilty in a Stalinist show trial in the UK and very shady establishment characters were appointed to key EU posts. All of this confirms yet again that the progressive establishment right across the West will stop at nothing to shore up their hold on power. The law is used to attack their opponents, the MSM is used to smear them, electoral commissions allow dirty tricks by establishment to go unremarked upon but find technicalities to hinder populist candidates and parties. How much longer will it be before ordinary folks wake up to the way in which their democratic rights are being trampled by these progressives?

    • Roland Deschain says:

I’ve always taken the view that in a democracy there is never an excuse for resorting to violence. And even though it’s become abundantly clear that we no longer live in a functioning democracy, and probably never did, I have still felt that violence would be wholly unproductive as it would just give the authorities the excuse they need to clamp down.

That argument begins to break down when you remain non-violent but still the authorities crack down, on the flimsiest of pretexts. And I fear that were something to happen to Mr Robinson in jail, that could for many be the final nail in the argument for non-violence and that some serious disorder could arise. At which point a no doubt well-planned action will be put into practice by the State.

Things may kick off sooner than we feared.
