Weekend Open Thread 29 June 2019

The MSM campaign to ‘ get Boris ‘ trundles on . As a result I bet both candidates see MSM involvement – such as hustings – a mistake . This shows how the MSM has put its own personal view above the needs of the public .

The Brexit Party announcement. (Not on the BBC, of course).

    “”Dear Supporter,””

“”Our national event, The Big Vision, is sold out at the NEC Birmingham today.
If you haven’t got a ticket you can still follow the political event of the summer.

Watch The Big Vision live, via our social media pages, from 4pm this afternoon.

Don’t miss the chance to hear the Brexit Party’s first big policy announcements, and the results of our supporters’ votes on options for political reform. We will also be announcing our first 100-plus candidates for a General Election.

If you do have a ticket for The Big Vision, we look forward to seeing more than 5,000 of you this afternoon for the next step in our campaign to change politics for good. “”

It will be interesting to hear their plans for the BBC 😉

      Vlad,
If those cancelling their TV tax is gaining momentum, that loss of revenue + overpayments (“equal” payments) to staff surely means ‘two-ends-to-the-middle’. Not a good business model. I imagine a good number of over 75’s will elect not to pay for a licence when the time comes.
Anyway, I dream of the day when viewing numbers to the BBC and the other broadcasters fall to their ethnic contingent only. After all, it is they who the BBC and other broadcasters focus their output on almost exclusively now. Evidence? Look no further than the disproportionate numbers of black and asian faces which equally disproportionately adorn almost every item of tv advertising. Let’s see if that small faction can financially support the BBC and all its excesses.

‘“Labour has scrapped Section 28, which was introduced by the Conservatives to stop schools promoting alternative sexual lifestyles such as homosexuality to children as young as seven years old.

“Labour reduced the age of consent for homosexuality from 18 to 16, allowing schoolchildren to be propositioned for homosexual relationships.”’

Another hit-job on Boris by a Louisa Gosling….who might she be? Someone who had very close ties to the EU and presumably still has a close affinity for the Empire.

    Previous jobs….
    https://uk.linkedin.com/in/louisagosling

‘Application of EU competition law to liberalise telecommunications markets in member states. Liaison with DG Telcommunications. Advising, speech writing, briefs, press releases for Commissioner Van Miert (Competition Commissioner); consultations and communications with stakeholders and experts

Director EU Regulatory Affairs….Achievements include : (1) participation in EU policy arena defining core principles for the 2002 Regulatory Review of Electronic Communications Markets.

    Brussels, Belgium
Spokesperson and representative for the positions and interests of the European ISP industry in their communications with press, policy makers and other stakeholders. Director and Chair of EuroISPA Council negotiations for establishment of policy priorities and common positions.

So she’s had a long involvement with the EU in one shape or another….and presumably the love affair continues…and she serves her masters well with a hit-job on Boris in the pro-EU Times. It doesn’t matter whether the story is completely true, half-true or totally false…it’s out there now as intended and the media has gone for it in a big way…the BBC yet to comment but you can be sure it will be a constant thread in any discussion on Boris this week.

I think this story about Emily Maitless sums up the attitude that the BBC has towards the public who it extorts money from via the licence fee.
Maitless was photographed with her dog sitting on a seat beside her on a busy London to Cornwall train this week, despite it being against the rules of the train company, Great Western Railway.

    15180870-7174823-Emily_Maitlis_works_on_a_train_from_Cornwall_to_London_yesterday-m-17_1561377724650.jpg

She wrote in The Sunday Times today, ‘I have been pet-shamed by an outraged passenger who clearly didn’t notice that the incriminating photo also contained the trainered feet of a passenger stretched out on the row behind us.’

Not sorry, no apology and no consideration for other passengers and then shifting the attention from her misdemeanor to someone else. The same strategy the BBC used for Jimmy Savile, Stuart Hall and DJ Chris Denning et al.

I won’t apologize to the accusation of overreacting to this story because the BBC and the people employed by it, unlike other mere mortals, believe they are above scrutiny and the law of the land.

I am severely allergic to dogs but the asthma it triggers may wait until I go to bed. I once had to endure a long train journey on a full train with a woman (not Maitlis, sitting opposite with her dog for whom she had bought a ticket). She kept assuring me the breed was one that didn’t trigger asthma. I was awake most of the night coughing with an important meeting the following day. The arrogance of Maitlis is breathtaking. She took her dog all the way to Cornwall for some sea air? What about her carbon footprint….and the dogs, come to that. I trust she paid some carbon credits to off set it.

      • BRISSLES says:

I’m certainly no fan of Maitlis, but according to her the dog was not on the seat for the entire journey, but just 17 minutes. If she had a brain in her head, and knowing she was taking a dog on the train, then carry a blanket for the dog to lie on and buy a seat ticket for it. Simples.

This might interest you Navets, it’s about the comedy ‘Rabbit’ from Channel 4:

“Nigel Farage has furiously hit out at Channel 4 after a satire shows a spoof of him shot in the head during a speech on immigration.

The Brexit Party and former UKIP leader, 55, branded Year Of The Rabbit ‘totally sick and frankly irresponsible’ after it emerged they will kill off ‘Neil Fromage’ on tomorrow night’s show.

The series, which first aired on June 10 and stars Bodyguard actress Keeley Hawes, will play the clip in the upcoming fourth episode – but it is already available on Sky.”

It’s worth watching if only to count the amount of black and Asian actors in this comedy set in Victorian London.

I expect it won’t be too long before the BBC or Channel 4 broadcast a comedy about the frail leader of a Marxist opposition party who is murdered by an obese female comedian who embeds an ice pick in his head while he is making jam.

Just a moment, there seems to be flashing blue neon light coming through the window and the sound of my door being kicked down. Why that looks like police issue mark 2 taser…

Do you still have police where you live? The last time I saw one, he was asleep at the wheel of a police car just off an obscure out of town roundabout. An endangered species if ever I saw one, undoubtedly under threat because of climate change.

I would like to apologize for my prediction that there would
be up to 80% Indian supporters at Edgbaston for the India-England
World Cup cricket match. I underestimated it is nearer to 90%!!
Birmingham is an English city where one would of thought that a few
thousand Englishmen would be interested in watching their
national side in a very important game.
BUT I was forgetting a couple of things. The Indians really love their
cricket which they are very good at it. AND apparently they were
very organized when it came to applying for tickets for the game.
Basically they had acquired most of the tickets whilst the England
    supporters were sleeping.
There is a lot to learn from the ex members of our empire from
the Indian sub continent. The ones from the southern part are
very good at applying for cricket tickets. The ones from the north
exceptional at applying for POSTAL BALLOTS amongst other things,
which the BBC don’t like talking about.

Having been very busy and hardly glancing at the BBC website (where I used to get all my news) I’ve been one of those not ‘paying attention’ this week… and frankly, it’s been great, most relaxing and stressfree.

This evening, I made the mistake of (bad habit) returning to the BBC News webshite, and the propaganda machine is so blatant, it’s cringemaking.

It seems like every single feckin’ article:

      Glastonbury (doubleplusgood)
      Trump (doubleplusbad)
      EU (doubleplusgood)
      Brexit (doubleplusbad)
      ‘Migrant’ rescue (doubleplusgood)
      Boris (5 minutes of hate)
      Stomzy (doubleplusdoubleplusgood)
Plastic (another 5 minutes of hate)
      Vaginas
      More vaginas
      Gay vaginas
      Diseased vaginas
      Diseased gay vaginas…

I’ve decided I’m giving up on the BBC webshite for good, which means I won’t be receiving any BBC input at all, which can only be a good thing. From what I hear lots of others are doing the same.
