Thanks Up2Snuff. I read the Express article that said the Euro is tumbling against the pound, as meaning the Euro is weakening against the pound, but as you rightly say it is the other way round. Agree with your last point, our PM never seems to tire of making foolish decisions!

Mark Francois who, along with the main ERG members, endorses Boris (rightly or wrongly) sets out the legalities as follows:

The legal default position under both EU law and UK law is that we now leave the European Union on the night of 31st October 2019. The only further legal requirement is that a Minister of the Crown physically signs the so-called “Commencement Order” to finalise the process. In short, no further legislation or even a Statutory Instrument is required in order for us to leave on Halloween. This is something the Remainers know but do not wish to advertise for very obvious reasons. When Michael Gove said in this week’s Channel Four News debate that “Parliament would have to vote to approve No Deal”, he was factually incorrect.

    https://brexitcentral.com/theresa-mays-deal-is-dead-and-boris-johnson-is-the-only-tory-leadership-contender-saying-so/

Sounds simple enough – despite all the deliberate obfuscation.
I assume the ERG think they can keep BoJo to his promise (assuming he wins).

ti, bit of a shame that MPs like Francois, Baker, Rigden haven’t had the Cabinet experience to provide them with a platform and profile to be making a bid for Conservative Party leadership.

The only candidate that keen Brexiteers appear to have in this fight is Dominic Raab.

BBC playing this down and it’s harly surprising.

“Former Uefa president Michel Platini is being questioned by French anti-corruption investigators over the awarding of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.”

Of course the biased media apportions no blame to the Salafi state of Qatar for giving the bribe, probably because of the can of worms it risks opening.

If Qatar is prepared to bribe a mickey mouse organisation like FIFA for a football match then surely even the most dense mind would have to accept they would be prepared to also bribe others in persuit of their own aims and ambitions.

Qatar is one of the major funders of Islamic schools in the UK, it is regarded by its neighbours and others Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, the Maldives, Mauritania, Senegal, Djibouti, the Comoros, Jordan, the Tobruk-based Libyan government, and the Hadi-led Yemeni government, all severed diplomatic ties on the basis it is a terrorist sponsoring state.

Both Tony BLiar and Hitlery Clinton have been ‘consultants’ to Qatar in recent years and have taken a lot of money from the Royal family, but we will never know if the services rendered were worth the financial reward, but yet again it is further prima facie evidence that Western leaders are accepting bribes from oil rich Middle Eastern states.

Another item failing to get mentioned on the news were the five complaints of electoral fraud at Peterborough currently being investigated by the police.
Our revered and respected source of all knowledge pulled their usual stunt of tucking it away on the text pages – so they can’t be accused of ignoring the matter, just giving it the coverage they feel it deserves.
That said, will the police investigation result in charges? Start holding breath……now.

One thing they never did comment on though was the corruption alleged against the Clintons and their foundation, which even wikipedia can manage to report.

Paul Crowther of Throkley Newcastle, lost his job at Sky as a technical assistant, for throwing a milk shake over Nigel Farage, and a good thing for anyone who believes like he does that violence is an accepable response to anyone they disagree with.
The setence of the judge however does show some political bias, with the Brexit campaigner who threw an egg at Jeremy Corbyn being imprisoned for 28 days,

Paul Crowther, 32, of Holeyn Road, Throckley, pleaded guilty to common assault and criminal damage at North Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.

He was given 150 hours of unpaid work assessment and ordered to pay Mr Farage £350 compensation

The attack on Corbyn attracted a more serious charge too, assault by beating.

The politicisation of the Police by loonie leftie Cameron has now led to a highly partial application of the law, where those felt to be fyrthest from left wing thought receive the worst service and the harshest treatment.

The attack on Corbyn attracted a more serious charge too, assault by beating.

Yes, a more serious charge because it was a more serious assault.

As the Bible says ” Be sure your lies will find you out”.

He did not punch Corbyn no account has that, not even the Guardian or the BBC. He had the egg in the palm of his hand and he smashed it on Corbyns head. Corbyn was able to wash this off, and it did not affect his Islamic campaigning.
It was a lesser attack because the assault only affected his head, not his entire body and it did not prevent him carrying on with is foul business.

island – interesting to contemplate what it says about our Remainer parliament, as well as the ‘Conservative’ party, that the only MP candidate for PM, unambiguously in favour of implementing the will of the people, has now been eliminated.
Granted, there is a whole lot more to being PM, but right now the No1 issue that needs urgent addressing is Brexit. Even Boris has not convinced me that he is determined to leave on the due date (which WAS actually 29 March!). I do hope he proves me wrong…
Now Raab may have been ‘no deal’, but we have been preparing for that quite extensively- as Liz Truss explained on The Westminster Hour, and it is the only genuine ‘leave’ scenario.
Instead, MPs have fallen for people like Rory Stewart, who was Labour, and gives every impression of fitting in to the LimpDums quite comfortably. May even be happy to return to Labour if that was where the most strutting and preening could be done. Perhaps I do the boy an injustice? Don’t know.

His Brexit party -regrettably- is short on continuity track record (for which he obviously can’t be blamed), well-established nationwide structures, breadth of policy in place etc.
When he was fighting a lonely battle for UKIP the MSM hardly ever wanted to know; suddenly- after he left- he became a media darling. I wonder what that tells us? (I don’t know the answer, but would be interested to hear other thoughts.)

I don’t think there are any proper leavers left as I’m unsure about Boris and even less about the rest down to Uriah Heep.

I’m not too bothered as I’m UKIP/TBP so my feeling is if no proper Brexit by 31 October then the ERG must bring down the government and a GE should give us Farage as PM.
If Uriah Heep somehow gets to be PM the ERG should immediately bring the government down.

Continually seeing his face and listening while he gurns is not going to appeal Tory voters and, more importantly, the swing voters. Then there’s no certainty of policy with Stewart who has been wobbling as wildly over the weekend and this week as Bojo has ever done, bike or no bike.

However, there could be a Party split coming. It’s a toss up whether it is Labour or the Conservatives first.

The BBC is again going the Full Gore on this story about melted ice sheets in Greenland…

Greenland’s ‘unusual’ melting sea ice captured in stunning image
Global warming, Mr Colgan said, was “tremendously important” to these sorts of events.
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-48674797

What needs to happen is that someone needs to file this story, keep it around and see, if in five, ten years time, the BBC’s catastrophism was anywhere near the truth. I dunno, perhaps there’s an existing historical record of icemelt that might show this event is not unusual or unique (unless you’re just looking at the last 20 years)…

ObiWan there was a big ice-melt last year in Greenland that got all the AGW/CC pushers very excited. After it was over, IIRC, the ice re-formed.

I saw this and noticed it was being reported by the BBC and Guardian as further proof of man made climate change.
After a bit research I came across an article from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources

“The final branch of the Gulf Stream swings around the southern tip of Greenland, at Cape Farewell, and flows up along the west coast of Greenland through Melville Bay and into Inglefield Bredning, where the current occurs as a relatively warm and saline core at a depth of approx. 300 m under the cold and relatively fresh surface water. The ocean current’s journey ends in the innermost part of the fjord, at 77 degrees north. The Atlantic Gulf Stream waters mix with meltwater and flow out of the fjord near the surface.
This blending of the waters deep in the fjord causes the Atlantic water to lose some of its warmth, making the sea ice thinner in the innermost part of the fjord. Here it is only roughly 70 cm thick, whereas it reaches a thickness of approx. 120 cm farther out because the ice towards the mouth of the fjord is protected by the cold layer of surface water.”

The BBC is still targeting Boris with nonsense trash news designed to er, trash Boris.

Why is the grand BBC interested at all in the trivia story about a photo of the messy inside of a Boris family car? Why constantly bring it up all day long? The BBC that wants more responsible journalism and respect for politicians and was so outraged that the Daily Mail should dare to have a bit of fun with ‘Legs-it’ [lol…check out Owen Jones’ furious froth-flecked rant on this…Legs-it should terrify us…‘The newspaper’s decision to objectify the legs of the country’s most prominent female politicians – focusing on what they look like rather than what they stand for – represents one of its many lows. But while it should be mocked, parodied, ridiculed, it should terrify us: because it is indicative of what is happening in Brexit Britain.’]

Then I heard that we must know about Boris’ children…we have to know about his family….the children he has will evidence his character, integrity and family values no less. What they mean of course is that they will use the fact that he has children by different mothers to attack him and suggest he is somehow, what did Humphrys call him?…oh yes…’Morally dubious’.

Imagine if you called any of those single mothers with children by several fathers that so often populate the BBC airwaves ‘morally dubious’…massive outrage? Of course. But the BBC seems OK with exploiting and weaponising Boris’ children and family life and portray him as some sort of immoral, decadent monster.

Hmmm…roll back to the last Tory leadership contest and Andrea Leadsom dared to mention her family and the fact that her children’s future concerned her and thus shaped her politics…she was utterly destroyed. She was of course the victim of a set-up by the Times’ Rachel Sylvester who is fanatically anti-Tory and anti-Brexit…so the pro-Brexit Tory Leadsom was always on a loser with her. It was Sylvester in the interview who insisted repeatedly on talking about family…and then twisted what was said to claim it was a snide attack by Leadsom on May who has no children. The BBC naturally adopted the Sylvester narrative and blasted Leadsom…who was written rapidly out of the contest.

Curiously no outrage about Sajid Javid using his family to full advantage…as do nearly all politicians of course….and the BBC does at every chance as a stick to beat the Tories with and to damn Brexit……..Brexit has stolen their future…climate change…education…equality etc etc etc….

    Watching the Tory leadership debate.
The bBBC have picked the most untypical range of people imaginable. All from various minorities.
Meanwhile Emily Maitlis is a total cow.
At one point a candidate tried to ask the question asked by the member of the public.
Before he could answer, Maitlis asked a different question.
The candidate tried to answer the original question and Maitlis cut him off for not answering her question.
Maitlis makes me remember the quote from Shakespeare, ‘what meat doth this our Caesar eat that he is grown so great?’

    Biased BBC tory leadership debate.
Questions are asked by ‘members of the public’
Here are the ‘typical members of the public’.
We’ve just had a question from an Imam.
Now we have a 15 year old Scottish girl wanting to reduce emissions to zero by….about next week.
Next its someone with dark hair and an Asian complexion.

What a warped sense of the nation the BBC marxists have.
Still, no doubt the correct boxes have been ticked.

Well, that was a car crash of a debate. Maitlis lost control, letting the five talk over each other and she constantly cut off Boris Johnson in mid sentence with her own snide comments while letting Rory Stewart ramble on.
It even made the Channel 4 offering the other night look relatively professional.
This shambles looked like a deliberate BBC ploy to turn the leadership contest into a blue-on-blue bear pit with nobody coming out of it looking good.
Even the “public” questions were selected to fit the biased BBC agenda – a teenager asking about climate change and an Imam asking about Islamaphobia (Maitlis immediately turning it on to Johnson and his “letterboxes” comment).
Nothing about knife crime, Muslim rape gangs, the corrupt and broken EU project, or how to power up the north of England. Typical metropolitan tripe.

Johnson got too little air time for it to be seen as fair. The way he was treated was disgusting but I expected that from the BBC.

Selected questions to trigger an argument and now the BBC website is full of selected tweets.

To be fair the candidates actually kept their cool despite such an awful set up. Fingers crossed that Stewart gets the boot though. He seems to be the token remainer of the group and is getting too cocky for my liking. I sense a lot of Blair in him

Stewart took his tie off half way through and posed sprawling on the chair. So edgy, so stupid.

Maitless asked if any of them would raise their hand if they could deliver Brexit in October. Nobody raised their hand. And that included Boris.

Why can’t it be done by October? Extra time was given in April, and that after three years.

I’m now of the view that Boris does not intend for Brexit to happen. This evening was his chance to say so. He blustered about how important dead lines are and that the voters want us to Leave, honour the result, blah, blah.

The Tory Remainers will vote against the Government and force an Election.

Does The Brexit Party still exist? I get the impression from the BBC that it is a dead Party, it is no more, it has gone to meet its maker…

I thought it was really good . Alex boris invoked his Muslim grandfather , Jeremy Hunt invoked his 3 half Chinese kids , Gove did his fostered thing , Rory gave the impression of being asleep and didn’t wear a tie And Saj – well Saj did diddly .

Boris achieved his objective – do serious damage even when maitlss tried to put him on the spot … shame mr Raab missed out .

On the upside – if only Brillo was running it instead of lightweight Maitlis . Certainly more meaningless fun than c4

And if you notice – no black people -double you tee eff ! Or did I miss one ?

Fedup, I think they did an adequate hatchet job on Boris without going down that route.
All the candidates should refuse to do anymore for the other tv stations. Their only objective is to undermine the Conservatives. Should Rory somehow manage to survive tomorrow’s vote, he of course would gratefully accept and could sit alone spouting his idiotic waffle and filling the screen with his horrifying grin while kidding himself he is ‘the man’. All he is doing is aiding the left wing , remain media in their quest to derail Brexit.
