The next time some eco-loon goes on about how most of the world’s scientific societies support the global warming crap, you can’t quote from this damning account about these professional bodies ‘selling out to climate change’

Makes for some chilling reading on how the socialists have played the long game in taking over the original environmentalist movement for their own ends.

      Rob,
“…..how the socialists have played the long game in taking over the original environmentalist movement for their own ends.”
This is the Globalist Marxists at work. ‘Global Warming’ is synonymous with a, ‘global solution’.
I’m not sure how the movement of millions of third wolders into the first World can help. Earlier this week we were told by the UN (WHO) that there is a (developed) World epidemic of diseases that were contained until the mass movement of the same third worlders accelerated. Strange that another department of the UN disclosed this in conflict to the ‘open borders’ for so-called, ‘refugees’ and economic migrants facilitated by the UN Migration Compact. Don’t these Globalist Marxist people talk to one another?

RR & G, think that was blindingly obvious from the targets and the order, from 1990 onwards, in which they were attacked:
Oil companies – big consumer = USA
Cars – big manufacturer, big user = USA
Nuclear power – leading researcher and developer (3 Mile Island notwithstanding) = USA
Aircraft – leading manufacturer and big consumer = USA.

Prior to the 1990s, the environmental movement was fairly benign and could be said to have some worthy aims (conservatism exaggerated?) but it was obvious once the Berlin Wall came down that Communism had to find a place to hide. Cuba & parts of Africa could not nurture it on their own. It chose the environmental movement as a good place to hide.

One of my responses to the hysterical climate changers is how is it that all these hotel chains keeping building, and getting insurance cover to build, these fabulous hotels in the Maldives. Aren’t they supposed to be under water in like 10 years?

It’s all very well having these over earnest fools being seduced by the latest ‘crisis’ but it’s telling that when it comes to money and paying out, clearly the insurance underwriters have no belief that there will be a Waterworld any time soon.

To be fair there are so many ways to put down an fervent environmentalist. Alex Epstein has some great material on this and his book the Moral case for fossil fuels looks to be an awesome piece of work – just need to find the time to read it!

Pbn, then there all these ‘World Cups’ expanding everywhere – and often played at night time, where extra lighting is required. I’m not getting at Wimmin here or the Wimmins World Cup, well, OK I am a bit, but if it really is a Climate Emergency to go with the other two: AGW & CC, then doing this sort of thing is completely stupid.

For example, expanding the men’s footie tourney with extra teams (48, instead of 32, I think) and having it hosted by up to three nations (rather than one) with all the extra long distance travel required, not just for the teams, not just for the fans but also the massive media circus and all their technology, it really does give the lie to the whole global warming and climate ‘thing’.

If it was really a serious problem, then FIFA either would not be allowed to do it by its biggest member nations or the UN or somesuch or would have the wit to work out that maybe an over 50% increase in emissions from a few footie games, even if only every four years, is definitely not a good idea.

Meanwhile in Paris, FIFA are discovering that scheduling a Womens World Cup for soccer during the cricket, tennis and even more importantly, the Tour de France & Le Mans ‘season’ was not a smart idea.

I know we all knew she was going to do it, but I did think Mrs May’s resignation was more important than a wife murdering her husband or Labour’s win at Peterborough. How far down the running order of the BBC news at 10pm BBC1 on Friday night, I cannot say as we turned over to see police chasing cars in Selby. I can only hope she doesn’t do any more damage before she goes.

I have no doubt that the only reason these characters admitted being druggies was because their rivals had done background checks . I suppose Boris will admit running a cannabis farm next.

Well I have make my own admission – I have never used supplied or sold controlled drugs . Now I know this disqualified me from being next PM but it was a silly mistake I made when I was younger .

Truly the red Tories deserve to be in the political dustbin of history.

      Declaration – I am currently taking drugs – for a cold –

It will be interesting watching the BBC’s leadership debate with the Conservative hopefuls. Who will ask the questions? Will anyone be interrupted? What are the rules or will they be BBC rules?

Boris Johnson looks like a very likely figure to become PM but these leadership challenges can turn nasty and the BBC will no doubt try to get involved in bringing down the candidate that they like the least.

My money is on some extreme bias as who ever wins will be our PM and i somehow think that the BBC will not like the result

    Foreign interference?

    From The Guardian:-

For Amjad Iqbal and Shabina Qayyum, two Peterborough councillors, the result highlighted the importance of Labour support in the Asian community. “I would say the Muslim vote played a vital role in Lisa Forbes’s success,” Iqbal said.
He said the circumstances surrounding Onasanya’s removal from office had come up on the doorstep, but the party had been able to distance itself from her case. “A lot of people said they were disappointed in Fiona’s action and that they weren’t going to vote for Labour. But we said look, that was her personal action, the Labour party has no responsibility or control over it.”
Iqbal enlisted the help of his cousin Shoukat Farid, a politician in Kashmir, who had been in Peterborough campaigning since 31 May. Farid said lots of Kashmiri people in the constituency knew him and he hoped he had helped to get out the Labour vote.

Perhaps the future of city politics is that the Labour Party will put up an ‘acceptable ‘ face who is actually elected with fraudulent – industrial – postal voting . It gets around the lack of English language issue as well as the inconvenience of constantly pregnant muzzie Wimmin having to get off their backs to go and vote … without their ‘husband ‘ standing behind them

Politicians seem to be reluctant to control voting fraud and the idea that there is something wrong with someone being required to produce evidence of identity to vote is ludicrous .

Trying collecting a parcel from the Post Office without producing ID when you get to the front of the queue .

I think it just best to do away with postal voting . If it’s important enough to a person to vote then physically go and do it – and show your identity .

Wow! Labour telling lies? They’ve never done that before, how could he have expected such a thing?

I agree we are at the stage where postal voting has to be stopped apart from obvious exceptions such as service personnel abroad.

Everyone keeps telling us we can only change things through the ballot box, but this appears not to be the case for one reason or another.

How the Brexit Party deal with the ‘Peterborough issue’ will determine their future success, or lack of. If they dare to even publicly acknowledge the elephant in the room they will be pilloried by the state. So will they kowtow and appease, or genuinely turn out to be a force for good?

Postal voting is usually given to the older and infirm, usually pensioners.
I don’t know why younger fit people need a postal vote.

Given the above, how is it that labour (remain/second referendum in a majority leave Peterborough) got 5,000 of the 6,000 postal votes.
Are the Peterborough pensioners the only ones who are remainers or are there organised blocks of fake votes.

Can they only fiddle certain votes such as Peterborough or South Thanet because if they go to fiddle a whole GE of votes somebody might talk.

“70% of labours vote was postal votes.”
            bet it wasn’t
I’m guessing that is a misquote of
‘ of postal votes the total TURNOUT was 70%’
ie 30% of postal voters didn’t send in their form

            On Twitter i see
“Peterborough Council returning officers counted just under 6,000 valid postal votes from a total of 33,920, a 17.7% proportion.”
If this magic 86% claim is true that would make 5,160 postal votes for Labour ..about half their total

The official results page makes no mention of postal or proxy votes

Glad someone else is pointing this out.

17.7% is close to the countrywide average. Comments in the DT quoting the (just under) 70% figure for Labour’s postal votes are absurd, even if fraud is involved. A moment’s thought would make them realise that this was turnout, and 70% would be about right for that.

It’s obvious some postal voting fraud went on in Peterborough. I can see that, why can’t the electoral commission see that? Or maybe they have. It only took Gordon Brown to raise an objection about funding and the electoral commission rushed to the Brexit Party at breakneck speed to investigate so if there are complaints about the large number of postal votes in this by election surely they should investigate. It can’t be just one sided. (I notice BBC silent about this) I’m thinking of putting in a complaint to the electoral commission and hope others do too to see what they do. I did read on Twitter of the same feelings and the need to make a complaint. If this is allowed to continue and it is waved through can you imagine what this means when we have more by elections or a general election. As a subscriber mentioned yesterday the voting system in this country will turn into a 3rd world one.

My natural curiosity wonders how the Brexit Party’s recruitment is going after the Peterborough By-Election result.

Will the BBC be equally curious, will they send a reporter to try to find out and, if so, will they report honestly without bias and making any other comment that might be beneficial to another Party?

    I wonder . . . ….

At face value it would seem hypocritical of Hannity to say that a politician calling for an opponent is like a banana republic as he supported Trump’s call for Clinton to be locked up. However, the difference, and it is a big difference, is that Trump has been investigated over and over again and no evidence of any crime being committed by him.

However, Clinton was lightly investigated and proof of her crimes were manifold, showing she should actually be locked up. But she was let off because she was a Clinton, or because she is a “Democrat” or because she’s not Trump. Or a bit of all three. Whereas they believe Trump should be locked up for winning the election in 2016.

As regards the Constituency of Dunny-On-The-Wold, also known as Peterborough…

If The Brexit Party had a criminal history of electoral fraud to match the Labour Party, and had ‘won’ the Peterborough by election by 680 votes, would the BBC be clamouring for an investigation?

    Would they?

    • Up2snuff says:

DS, the BBC would certainly assist all those clamouring for a re-run of the election on the basis that ‘the By-Election was divisive’ and ‘people did not know what they were voting for’ and ‘old racist people voted for a white candidate’ and ‘it wasn’t a clear result by 65% or 75% majority’.

      • Dover Sentry says:

And the Labour loser would say that this result didn’t match what she was told when canvassing on the doorsteps of voters.

        Well, that’s it then…

TBP needs to tackle this. It certainly needs to be tackled before the next GE. Always the Labour Party at the centre of Electoral Fraud and racism.

The candidates and their teams would have been at the count. It is up to them if they wish to challenge the result.

Tactically, it may be better for TBP not to do so. By accepting the result of democracy (with all its faults) TBP start to really show up all those who will not accept and still fight against the result of the EU Referendum.

Just look at the trouble that Ann Widdecombe has brought on herself for an unwise public statement and the trouble that some people (the BBC included as far as R4 are concerned) are trying to bring to Dominic Raab by misrepresenting something he is supposed to have said.

TBP might be better engaged in starting to think about a manifesto and running careful checks on the membership prior to candidate selection in the event of no Brexit and a General Election.

Problem with a new Party, LCS, is not only weeding out the Fifth Columnist & opposition plants & spies early on, you then have to start sorting out the people who carry the manifesto to the electorate, ie. the candidates and their constituency teams.

Prior to that there is more sorting to weed out the no-hopers, then find and weed out those with skellingtons as well as wellingtons in their closets, before you reach the point where you have 650 squeaky clean candidates R.T.R..

Then you can sort out your Party management structure and procedures or do that at the same time as everything else. Rolling eyes upward Emoticon here!

Only then you can really start to create a manifesto in discussion with all candidates and constituency teams. It is a colossal task.

I suspect UKIP struggled with all these areas and looked what it did to them with all sorts of in-fighting, literally hand-to-hand as far as the MEPs were concerned together with leadership battles.

What do you make of the modern Conservative Party?
It’s not that long ago that “Dave” struggled to deny he’d ever used cannabis.
Now there’s a list of candidates queuing up to reveal their penchant for hard drugs.
We’ve had that wild man of the Cabinet, Mickey Gove, telling us he used coke…and not the sort that comes with added sugar.
Rory Stewart has let us into his heroin secret. I’ve got to be honest and say that looking at those gaunt features, hollow eyes and listening to his ramblings, I’m hardly surprised. More to the point, has he actually come off it?

Do you think we’ll hear any more secrets as the candidates try to up their street cred?
Andrea Leadsome likes the occasional spliff?
    Esther McVey dabbled with LSD?
Matt Hancock ran an underground drugs den in Cheshire before joining Parliament?

Something I really don’t want to see is an interview with Boris’s chum, the eloquent Jacob Rees Mogg. Opening his front door, wearing ridiculously loose, baggy strides, a Stomzy T shirt and a back to front baseball cap. Instead of his usual , impeccable English, Jacob has affected an awful Jafaikan drawl. “Dat dumb bitch had three years, man. She did fxxxing nuttin’. Know wot I mean?”

Some of us can remember the time when two-fifths (a.k.a. 40%) of the world’s population went to bed hungry at night, only having had one meal in the day. Now, it is only a fraction of that large fraction.

For sure, as Ben Pile observes, malnourishment or hunger may well be increasing in certain places but the cause is not supposed warming but war and political conflict.

Turned on R4 this a.m. in middle of piece that was talking about Maduro’s military running a narcotics business in Venezuela. Have been trying to find a reference to it on the BBC w-s but my ISP is running chronically slow at present.

It happened yesterday on Politics live.

The politicians readily accept the GE results.
Does everyone who votes in the GE understand everything their voted for party has in its manifesto (I know they are meaningless)
Do labour voters all understand changes in business taxes.
Do all Tory voters understand pension reform.
Do liberal voters understand anything at all.

    Same for the referendum.
We voted with the knowledge, as in the booklet everyone received, that we would leave the eu and all its institutions (ecj, cm, sm and so on)
Short of making everyone pass an exam to be allowed to vote showing they understand every aspect of every manifesto we will all have our differing levels of knowledge of party promises.
If we now know more about the eu and are able to make a better choice then in another 3 years we will know more than today and in another 3 years after that more still….ad infinitum.

We were at least as knowledgeable about what we were voting for in the referendum as we are in any GE so please, anyone on tv, point this out on the leftie shows like QT, politics live and all the others.

I remember at the time that the BBC sent Jeremy Paxman to one of the top Schools in London expecting the Remainers to win in a debate. But it turned out that the Brexitters won the debate saying to Jeremy that they won because they used the debate to inform those who didn’t know or understand EU governance. A local school also produced a victory for the Brexiteers using the same tactic of informing the ignorant. This implies that people who voted Remain are ignorant, the young being more ignorant than the older generation due to spending less time learning about the EU. This also implies that ignorance of European Union governance is essential for Remain supporters in any future referendum. I think to pass an exam on EU governance to be allowed to vote would produce a Brexit Party landslide. The exam should also include Britain’s Customs Union deficit and the WTO trade surplus and equivalent standards of living data with those nations which did not enter the EU.

Although tempted to sign it, I have some reservations. There have been times when I have been away from home (e.g. on training courses) at the time of elections and have had to apply for one-off postal votes. A snap general election may be called for a date when you have already booked a holiday.

I think that if a postal vote is required it has to fulfil a genuine requirement, such as illness or infirmity, unavoidable absence from your constituency. Officials should be appointed to witness all genuine postal votes being cast in hospitals or care homes etc., but not the actual vote of course. Those who are fit, but planning to be absent, should make themselves available at an agreed earlier date so they can vote in a similar way to going into a polling boothwith officials witnessing the act.

This would be more difficult way to do it but would get rid of 95% of suspected fraud. Also anyone who votes, at a polling station or in any of the other ways above, should have to prove identity – passport with picture would be a start.

Also Muslims are 3 times more common in prison than they should be since they are only 5% of population.

\\ There were 13,008 Muslim prisoners in England and Wales at the end of March, about 15 per cent of the total jail population. At the end of last year 175 prisoners were serving sentences for terrorist offences linked to Islamist extremism.

In some top-security jails the proportion of Muslim inmates was higher. About 42 per cent of Whitemoor prison in March, Cambridgeshire, and 31 per cent at Long Lartin in Worcestershire were Muslim. The UK government officially set up such a base in the 1960‘s. Its just that it hasn’t got a detention camp. Britain’s only Overseas territory which is 100% a military base is Akrotiri and Dhekelia on the island of Cyprus, its already used by Britain as its main Middle-East military base. But the Falklands and Pitcairn belong to the inhabitants with only the Falkland Islands with a military base on it. The Falkland Islanders only want the military base to be used to defend the Falklands against Argentina. Episkopi Bay is to Guantanamo Bay as Cyprus is to Cuba as the British military is to the US military. Its almost an identical set up but without a detention camp.

What isn’t mentioned here is the number of prison staff who may well be related to Islamic inmates …. I understand many local prisons employ local people ….

Oh dear, Ann Widdecombe loses the gay vote with a little help from the msm screaming homophobia at her.

She rightly calls the furore ‘liberal tyranny’.

And the beeb are delighted to front-page Gove’s little encounters with cocaine. Ironic given that hacks are well-known for their widespread use of the stuff. Allegedly.

Remember folks, these people don’t want any fuss , don’t want to draw attention to themselves(so they keep telling us), they just want to be viewed as “normal” in society.

While there is an element of truth in what Dawkins says, age qualification is the fairest (and easiest to administer) way of deciding who can vote. Just as for the age restriction laws on buying tobacco and alcohol, having sex or getting married, it is best for the individual and for society as a whole to have clear and unambiguous rules. I like Dawkins when he talks about evolution but I often feel that away from the lab and his microscope this impractical ivory tower figure doesn’t quite understand real people or how societies work. He seems to have an antipathy towards customs and traditions that have stood the test of time. He dismisses them if they appear superficially silly or illogical and has no real curiosity about what human needs they may be expressing or meeting. He often seems to arrogantly believe that an idea that just occurred to his superbrain five minutes ago must be more sensible than the accumulated wisdom of the ages.

Zelazek, Dawkins has the outlook of fundamentalist. His creed could be summed up as ‘There is no god but evolution and Darwin is his prophet’.
While I wholeheartedly accept evolution, I never take anything he says about the world seriously. A man with a mind so closed who cannot be of any use outside his own particular field.
If anybody wishes to disagree with me on that that’s fine. I am always willing to look at evidence that contradicts what I believe, unlike Mr Dawkins.
