Weekend Open Thread 20 April 2019

I was going to call it the Easter Open Thread but this site is primarily about bearing witness to the bias of the Far Left BBC as opposed to specific religions [or none ]. Any way – there is a new line of attack for us . The BBC has whole heartedly swallowed all the human- activity-changing- climate stuff . You may agree or not .

But the point is – if the BBC wants to cut its ‘carbon fingerprint ‘ – is it doing it ? How many beeboids are sent to stand in front of events to talk at the camera when they’d do the same job sitting in a studio ? How much carbon is used and taxpayers’ cash spent ?

‘Does this evil organisation practice what it now preaches ? Perhaps every programme should have its carbon footprint published – the number of air miles and car miles – and programme cost -for starters .

Happy Easter .

  1. ObiWan says:

Mysterious explosions going off in several churches and hotels across Sri Lanka, leaving 20 killed and more than 200 injured. Strangely, the BBC doesn’t seem at all curious who might be behind these attacks, or even why. It doesn’t even speculate.

“…Sri Lanka explosions: 20 killed as churches and hotels targeted

At least 20 people are reported to have been killed and more than 200 injured in explosions at churches and hotels in Sri Lanka.

At least six explosions have been reported. Three churches in Kochchikade, Katuwapitiya and Batticaloa were targeted. The Shangri La, Cinnamon Grand and Kingsbury hotels, all in Colombo, were also hit Easter Sunday is one of the major feasts in the Christian calendar. Images on social media showed the inside of one of the churches – St Sebastian’s in Katuwapitiya – with a shattered ceiling and blood on the pews.”

The BBC are a disgrace to journalism and an insult to the very concept of unbiased, impartial reporting.

    • Ian Rushlow says:

More than 130 people reported as having been murdered at time of writing (0845). Another mass killing in a Commonwealth country. But don’t expect days and weeks of coverage as with Christchurch – it will probably be off the front page by dinner time. The BBC are starting to gently pull the curtain aside to reveal some possible culprits: “There have been fears that Islamic State group fighters returning from the Middle East could pose a threat in the country.” But they quickly add: “In the years since the end of Sri Lanka’s civil war in 2009, there has been some sporadic violence, with members of the majority Buddhist Sinhala community attacking mosques and Muslim-owned properties.” See what they did there? If one didn’t know better, one might think they are subtly trying to imply that violence between Buddhists and Muslims somehow explains or maybe even ‘justifies’ mass murder against Christians and foreigners.

      • jazznick1 says:

Police chief Pujuth Jayasundara sent an intelligence warning to top officers on April 11 setting out the threat.

“A foreign intelligence agency has reported that the NTJ (National Thowheeth Jama’ath) is planning to carry out suicide attacks targeting prominent churches as well as the Indian high commission in Colombo,” said the alert.

The NTJ is a radical Muslim group in Sri Lanka that came to notice last year when it was linked to the vandalism of Buddhist statues.

Only around six percent of mainly Buddhist Sri Lanka is Catholic, but the religion is seen as a unifying force because it includes people from both the Tamil and majority Sinhalese ethnic groups.

        Telegraph this morning.

Interesting to see how the BBC deal with this.

      • vesnadog says:

“one might think they are subtly trying to imply that violence between Buddhists and Muslims somehow explains or maybe even ‘justifies’ mass murder against Christians and foreigners.”

I’ll give it to those in BBC high command HQ head quarters, main offices; they’ve got brilliant “foresight” so they can see forwards a few years so they are getting their “Allah Akbars” in much sooner than normal people.

        They hate Christians apparently!

Bet by then the licence fee will be free for all Muslims in this country (not just pensioners – white penssioners will have to pay though)

    • G says:

The news report used the expression, “Churches” so, at this stage, we have to think, Christian Churches, it being Easter an’ all.
Estimated primary religion of Sri Lanka is Buddhist (70.2% 2011); Christian, 6.1%; 9.7% Sunni muslim.
      Buddhists use Temples not Churches.
All things said, Buddhists in that part of the World have not been found to be a soft touch when it comes to confrontation with muslims. On the other hand, ‘turning the other cheek’ Christians, are.
In any event, as you assert ObiWan, we will not be told the truth by the MSM in general and in particular our far left Cultural Marxist State Broadcaster so, ‘hey ho’ I join the dots.

Coming your way, Adam. And courtesy of a behemoth with a unique funding model in support of its ideology.

The Brexit slant buys you time, but the XR snark will soon see you dealt with.

  3. Guest Who says:

Ironically, most Beeboids have jetted off past the XR protestors, when basking in the sun in Oxford Circus would have topped up the tan.

    • BRISSLES says:

I’m not old enough to get a free passport or tv licence (???), but I’m old enough to get free prescriptions and a bus pass.

We are ALL statistics in one way or another. Some of us have to get over it and live with it. This ‘poor me’ attitude began with the advent of immigration. Funny that. Before that, we were all pretty much the same, as long as we had food on the table, a warm coat in the winter, and a doctor who we could see within 24 hours, then we were content.

  4. Dover Sentry says:

MPs are Worried about Farage 😉

They’ve brought it upon themselves. The Great Brexit Betrayal.

    BBC Online News:

    Sky Online News:

“”Derbyshire Tories boycott EU elections as Farage’s party poses threat””

    • G says:

“”Labour must promise another Brexit referendum to counter the electoral challenge posed by Nigel Farage, the party’s deputy leader has said.””
That’s wonderful news. We should go about the remainder of this day with joy in our hearts! ‘When in a hole, stop digging’ but no, these bunch of cretins cannot even see that any suggestion of a second referendum is, Red Rag to this Bull.

      • Beltane says:

If only Tom Watson had not helped close the News of the World down, his message to the Labour faithful might have had more of an impact this Sunday. As it is, those few up-market chippies who use the Observer might get his message across by the end of the week.
Or could it be the fee that held greater attraction?

    Sri Lanka explosions:
    ‘No-one was expecting this’

‘Sri Lanka police chief had warned of suicide attack threat before blasts’ on April 11 setting out the threat.

    • vlad says:

I think they mean “No-one in the bbc newsroom was expecting this, because we choose not to know: thoughtcrime.”

  8. pugnazious says:

The BBC’s take on the mass murders in Sri Lanka is interesting…for its lack of interest in the events rather than the content.

When we had the attack in Christchurch there was instant total outrage and condemnation and a rush to blame ‘populist’ politicians and commentators for the killings.

Here….not so much. The BBC tells us we really have no idea who may have carried out the attacks

‘No group has yet said it was responsible….it’s too early to say who is behind the attacks.’

They try to suggest in a slippery little comment that it may be returning extremists ‘radicalised’ by the non-Muslim group IS…thus putting distance between the attacks and ‘homegrown’ Muslim radicals…however it’s only ‘fears’ about a possible threat…nothing to do with ‘Islam’, it’s just those lunatics who twist and distort the religion of peace….

‘There have been fears that Islamic State group fighters returning from the Middle East could pose a threat in the country.’

The Times of Israel however points out that there had been warnings about a local Islamist group [Originally from an AFP news agency release]…

‘“A foreign intelligence agency has reported that the NTJ (National Thowheeth Jama’ath) is planning to carry out suicide attacks targeting prominent churches as well as the Indian high commission in Colombo,” said the alert, which was sent by police chief Pujuth Jayasundara to top officers.

The NTJ is a radical Muslim group in Sri Lanka that came to notice last year when it was linked to the vandalization of Buddhist statues.

    Here’s Al Jazeera….

‘Sri Lanka police warned of attacks before bombings: Report”A foreign intelligence agency has reported that the NTJ (National Thowheeth Jama’ath) is planning to carry out suicide attacks targeting prominent churches as well as the Indian high commission in Colombo,” said the alert.

The NTJ is a radical Muslim group in Sri Lanka that came to notice last year when it was linked to the vandalism of Buddhist statues.’

    The Telegraph…

‘”A foreign intelligence agency has reported that the NTJ (National Thowheeth Jama’ath) is planning to carry out suicide attacks targeting prominent churches as well as the Indian high commission in Colombo,” said the alert.

The NTJ is a radical Muslim group in Sri Lanka that came to notice last year when it was linked to the vandalism of Buddhist statues.’

How come the BBC is the only one to miss this press release? The BBC actually saying ‘No-one was expecting this’.

Hang on…the BBC does point the finger of blame and suggests who stirred up the trouble….Buddhists….

    ‘What’s Sri Lanka’s recent history?

In the years since the end of Sri Lanka’s civil war in 2009, there has been some sporadic violence, with members of the majority Buddhist Sinhala community attacking mosques and Muslim-owned properties. That led to a state of emergency being declared in March 2018.’

Which of course explains why Christian churches during Easter, as always, were attacked.

    • ObiWan says:

‘…Which of course explains why Christian churches during Easter, as always, were attacked.’

That’s how the BBC see things. I wonder, is it just a strange coincidence that we are about to enter a period known annually as Ramadan (5th May – 4th June)? Even if the media never points this out to an unwary public, you can be sure security services across the world are well-aware of the significance of those dates.

      • vesnadog says:

“I wonder, is it just a strange coincidence that we are about to enter a period known annually as Ramadan ”

I know muslims love to tell every one that they fast for a few hours (unlike religious Jews and Christians who usually fast for no less than 24 hrs) and fair enough to that fact but they don’t tell you they love to eat blood of Christians any hour of the day – rats!

    • vlad says:

“Sri Lanka blast hints at growing terror in South Asia, ISIS hand suspected –

      – The pattern of the Sri Lanka attack – a series of coordinated blasts at high-value targets, intelligence units said – was typical of the Da’esh

      – ‘No Tamil fringe group is responsible for this attack,’ said a senior Union home ministry official.

      – If you observe the pattern of the attack it is a classic Islamic State attack. A collective of people has been targeted using explosives. The government is working closely with Sri Lanka to get to the bottom of this. As of now, we are strongly suspecting IS because of the nature of the attack, but forensics will try to establish the explosive used, and the kind of detonator and other details to get to the bottom of this.”

    • vlad says:

As usual in such cases, al beeb’s number 1 priority is to divert suspicion from islamists by spreading disinformation: it was the Buddhists, it was the Tamils, etc.
On no account mention the I word or the M word if at all avoidable.

      • vesnadog says:

I suppose its because BBC HQ head quarters HQ believe that out of those million or so refugees we have coming one might easily be Gay or even better – Transgender! What a catch for BBC talent he/she would be – could have a new host for a future game show.

  9. thirdoption says:

So many innocent Christians killed in Sri Lanka by Muslim terrorists and yet, strangely, no coverage on the BBC of a weeping, hijab-wearing Jacinda Ardern.

    • vlad says:

Give the woman a break: she’s too busy hugging muslims and attending the mosque.

      • R P McMurphy says:

Ask her about the refusal by her government to let in a downs sydrome child of a woman offered a job there.

      • vesnadog says:

Or she’s being shown how to do an haka by some muslim person. It does look rather hard work.

  10. StewGreen says:

7:45am Radio Sheffield religion prog was stirring big time
A big dog whistle : how come those French billionaires quickly gave to ‘Notre Dame & not Grenfell ..oh it’s not fair billionaires have money, they should have it taken off them’
FFS comparing the two events is the fallacy of comparing apples and oranges.
    – You’ve got a load of people in a block of flats in London, living a fairly privileged life cos they are in the middle of London, and many are breaking the laws by subletting and cramming too many people in, some don’t have legal right to be in the UK, yet they got an amnesty for all that.
The local council promised to set up all the tenants in alternative nearby places, they had luxury hotel accomodation from day 1.
Most people would have had their own insurance, at least all of the private owners .

Why did no billionaire give a £100m to Grenfell ?
    ..err cos no one asked.
No money will bring the dead back to life
some money will help fill the gaps where insurance or gov doesn’t cover the injured
    hence the £27m
… whereas the French government appealed for €1bn to rebuild Notre Dame
The magnitudes asked are completely different

    • thirdoption says:

“…………how come those French billionaires quickly gave to Notre Dame & not Grenfell?”

Maybe it’s because they wanted their money to be spent wisely instead of being given to so-called victims who were actually nothing more than illegal immigrants and criminals, lying and cheating their way through life.

      • vesnadog says:

“…………how come those French billionaires quickly gave to Notre Dame & not Grenfell?”

Could be that in France people/donators know that they are more account table?

    • Jeff says:

It’s a ludicrous comparison to make. Grenfell and Notre Dame atr two totally different situations.
There were endless appeals to assist the survivors of Grenfell. Lots of people donated, but the survivors were never going to return to their old home. The ghastly tower block wasn’t going to be rebuilt. Who’d want to live there?
Notre Dame is a stunningly beautiful old building. It will take billions to repair after the…accident. And we must repair it.
It’s just so bloody typical of these foul left wing shit stirrers to try to capitalise on a tragedy.
      I really loathe them.

  11. StewGreen says:

LBC’s Andrew Castle is obviously getting a lot of stick from listeners saying
“..now it’s an attack against Christions you won’t hype it like you do for attacks on Muslims like Christchurch
.. remember the church attacks in Nigeria and Bangladesh”
..All he can say is we are covering it ..we aren’t giving privilege to attacks on Muslims

  12. Jeff says:

Just an interesting aside from the horrific attack in Sri Lanka.
Did anyone else notice a piece on the BBC news just after the Notre Dame “accident” last week?
One of their correspondents visited a nearby church of similar vintage to Notre Dame. Strangely (or not) a week or two ago this old building also caught fire. There was substantial damage, though nothing like as devastating as the Notre Dame disaster.
The Beeb journo clambered up into the rafters and said “Look, it’s all wood and very dry…” It was as though he was looking for a reason why these old buildings should suddenly take it upon themselves to self detonate… after standing unharmed for 800 years.
Is it just me or does this look Suss?

    • vlad says:

And if you’re referring to Saint Sulpice, it’s been confirmed as arson.

    • StewGreen says:

@Jeff you haven’t given me enough detail like a name to pin down that report in the archive
You can look yourself like trying Ctrl- F” dry wood” to search for the important phrase

The best thing is to when you see something suspicious , is to immediately jump on Twitter and search under the programme name ..cos odds are someone will have already tweeted about it.
If not you can tweet the presenter and stand a chance of getting any error corrected on air, there and then.
Chasing up stuff later can be a nightmare.

    • pugnazious says:

Jeff….Well why not…..burning bushes…burning churches……immaculate conception…..spontaneous combustion……believe. Churches just bursting into flames is so very Christian….it’s the Christians wot dun it!

875 churches attacked in France in 2018…who is doing it? Hmmm…Radical secularists and feminists angry at the patriarchy….no mention of les autres.

‘”The pressure is coming from the radical secularists or anti-religion groups as well as feminist activists who tend to target churches as a symbol of the patriarchy that needs to be dismantled,” ‘

Curious all those Muslims who rejoiced as Notre Dame burned….including this ‘British’ Afghan who writes for The Independent…

The same Sahim who railed against a war memorial…

‘The British Iraq and Afghanistan war memorial celebrates those who destroyed my country ‘

A very prejudiced, ignorant and unbalanced view of what is happening in Iraq and Afghanistan and who is to blame for events there….all the things she boasts of as now going on there and claiming they are down to the locals are happening only as a result of the freedoms brought by release from Saddam Hussain and the Taliban[at least in parts Afghan]

  13. thirdoption says:

Absolutely unbelievable bias by omission from the BBC.
This is the lead article on their website concerning the Sri Lanka attacks and they have ensured there is not a single implication that it could be Islamic in nature.

Worse still, they have the gall to imply it’s Buddists that are responsible by saying “In the years since the end of Sri Lanka’s civil war in 2009, there has been some sporadic violence, with members of the majority Buddhist Sinhala community attacking mosques and Muslim-owned properties.”

Coverage on other news outlets clearly state it was Muslim suicide bombers but the BBC strangely fail to mention the fact and instead imply Buddists could be the culprits.

    Fake news at it’s worst.

  14. StewGreen says:

LBC is just starting an hour long phone in with Alistair Campbell
    ..Yeh just what I wanted.

  15. Sluff says:

It’s Multiple Choice question time at the BBC.

The murderous co-ordinated attacks on Christian churches in Sri Lanka on Easter Day were caused by

    a. Someone with mental health issues
    b. a lone wolf
    c. Someone who failed their lorry driving test specialising in inner cities due to training cutbacks
    d. Someone who has been let down by the rest of society
    e. Austerity cuts
    f. Nothing whatever to do with Islam
    g. A right wing extremist who supports Brexit

I’m sure that covers the most likely possibilities.

    • Jeff says:

      You missed Trump!
Well, they’ve blamed him for everything else…

    • G says:

      Come now Sluff!
      What abhaat Brexit?
Glaringly obvious and the main contender………..

    • Foscari says:

Sluff-The Diversity , Inclusivity, and Positive Discrimination departments will decide on how the BBC will report this atrocity
in Sri Lanka. They will try and succeed in keeping it as low a
profile as possible if your 6th proposal is involved in any way.

    • Doublethinker says:

The likely cause of the atrocity was that a group of RoPers decided , as their custome and religion dictates, to avenge the death of their co religionists in New Zealand. This is most likely to be the truth. Yet another example of why having Muslims in your country is a really bad idea if you are not a Muslim. But will the dim witted liberals in the West accept this? Not a chance. By the way the Muslims make up about 10% of the Sri Lankan population. In the UK we will reach that % in a decade or two.

  16. vlad says:

Good to see Theresa drawing attention to Christian persecution, especially today.

Sadly she’s a bit late, as there aren’t many Christians left in most of the Middle-East and other oppressing countries.

Now I wonder which countries these might be? With a few exceptions, of course they’re all islamic – you know, Treeza, that Religion of Peace and tolerance you keep telling us about after every new terrorist attack.

(The exceptions being communist North Korea and China.)

Meanwhile, Corbyn’s Easter message is about refugees, and how we should be taking in even more – most of them of the same religion doing the oppressing.

While it’s too early to be sure about Sri Lanka, security services and intelligence agencies in the area aren’t in much doubt.

Al beeb, of course, haven’t a clue, and most definitely won’t be reporting the intel mentioned above by Pugnazious, until they have to.

    • vlad says:

P.s. If she was serious, Treeza could start by giving Asia Bibi asylum in the UK.

But I suspect she’d rather just ‘launch a global review into the persecution of Christians’ – whatever that means.

  17. Beltane says:

The bias by omission is frequent enough to be seen as simply a sad and pathetic reflection of government/BBC policy. But is it through fear, or cowardice or the childish hope that it will all go away, one day? Do they really believe that these events are aberrations?
Or is it due to something altogether more sinister? Makes you wonder, don’t it?

  18. john in cheshire says:

What’s the latest news about Julian Assange? Do we know where he is, his state of health and how he is being treated?

  19. Rich says:

I’m able to follow Sky News through YouTube and have just watched a 10 or 15 minute report on the Sri Lankan bombings without hearing or reading the words “Islam” or “Muslim” at all. I did find out though that the Prime Ministers of New Zealand and Turkey, the only countries mentioned, are amongst those condemning the attacks.

I know it’s not the bBC but they are two cheeks of the same arse. This report was followed, in the same amateurish and agenda-driven way as all of their journalism seems to be, by an update from Waterloo Bridge where they had a pleasant chat with probably the only two black protesters there, one of whom was encouraged to spout complete and utter cosmic/ hippy crap in an affected mid-Atlantic accent, unchallenged for around 5 minutes.

The standard of our mainstream journalism and journalists, bBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, really is utterly, utterly, pathetic. Everyday their stupidity and their scattergun scaremongering insults, embarrasses, and angers me more and more. They disgust me.

    • vlad says:

With its massive influence – and funding – the beeb sets the tone for other broadcasters, and sets the bar. Very, very low.

  20. pugnazious says:

The man with a huge chip on his shoulder about white people and whose twitter feed is filled with tales of horrible white people, says this morning…

The same Nihal who, after the attack in Christchurch, immediately began pointing the finger of blame at anyone who dared to criticise Islam or talk about immigration, and who eagerly retweeted anyone who used the attack to peddle their own favourite Islamophobia/racism scare-stories…

So just who is the ‘scumbag’ exploiting a tragedy? Could it be Nihal? Note no mention of ‘Christians’ in his tweet about Sri Lanka and his main thought was to stop anyone being allowed to be justifiably angry at the attacks and trying to stop anyone looking too hard at who might be to blame.

    • Ian Rushlow says:

I’m kind of guessing that this person, who works for the BBC and has done so in various roles for 20 years, including on the Racist BBC Asian Network (RBBCAN), is not subject to any of the ‘guidelines’ intended to make distinctions between official BBC and ‘private’ opinions?

    • G says:

I sense a day of reckoning is looming on the horizon. That will be when the loud mouths get their comeuppance as being disproportionately few in number relative to the population as a whole.
Despite it being the Guardian, here’s a useful chart showing the tiny minorities invariably with the largest ‘gobs’.
Biggest danger for the ‘gobby’? If the whatnot hits the fan they will be trampled upon very very quickly.

      • Ian Rushlow says:

Those are very strange figures. A more accurate methodology is to analyse BBC television programmes plus adverts on the commercial channels for banks, furniture shops and supermarkets. This proves conclusively that the true ethnic mix of Britain is:
        White 10%
        Black 40%
        Mixed 20%
        Asian (i.e. Indian sub-continent) 29%
Real Asians (i.e. Chinese, Japanese etc) 1%
Also worth pointing out that: women make up 80% of the population; 50% are homosexual; 25% are transgendered; 40% use wheelchairs; 65% are followers of Islam; 120% want the cost of the television license to increase (secret BBC survey); 0% Extinction Rebellion protesters to be charged.

      • pugnazious says:

G….Funnily enough such thoughts crossed my mind this morning..though from another direction. Those ‘big gobs’ are very vocal and highly aggressive in their attacks on white people….the Lammy’s, the Abbotts, the Hirsches and the rest…..Abbott has the scary smack of Mandela about her, Winnie not Nelson, whilst Lammy reminds me of those black South African politicians who shout ‘Kill the Boers’.

What if one day they held the whip hand…literally? As unrestrained as they are in their racist rhetoric now about white people how much more so when in control? South Africa….Whites ‘will know their place when we come into power….you are visitors here…and the long stay of visitors depends on their conduct…be warned’

Funny though how the BBC doesn’t pick them up on their blatantly racist language and inflammatory, divisive, hate-filled rhetoric.

At 3:30…..Marr raises the subject not to challenge but the reverse…to give Lammy’s claims the oxygen of publicity…..

    • vlad says:

“Let’s name them. Rod Liddle. Douglas Murray. Katy Hopkins. Trevor Kavanagh. Alison Pearson. Melanie Philips”

And so it begins: the naming and shaming of the handful of brave, independent minded commentators who dare buck the trend of supine prostration to the Religion of War by simply telling the truth.

Next, censorship, arrests, prosecutions, until the only authorised voice on such matters is the beeb.

  21. Ed Hitter says:

Not on the BBC website, but Mail Online states: “According to reports, Sri Lanka’s police chief made a nationwide alert 10 days before today’s bomb attacks in the country that Islamic extremist suicide bombers planned to hit ‘prominent churches’.
Police chief Pujuth Jayasundara sent an intelligence warning to top officers on April 11 setting out the threat, sources say”.
An important piece of info that our main networks ought to be sharing, one might think.

  22. Rich says:

I’ll see your Nihal and raise you a Reggie.

Another well-balanced, chip-on-both-shoulders, bBC favourite, “the black Stacey Dooley”, Reggie Yates.

Eleven different pieces on the bBC NI webshite page about this poor girls murder. None of them mention this.

  23. Roland Deschain says:

I expect the BBC will report shortly about how the nasty far right went round Hyde Park dropping litter in an attempt to discredit the saintly environmentally-aware Extinction Rebellion protestors. Who could never have had such disregard for the environment.

    • Ian Rushlow says:

I was always told to take my rubbish home with me. But I guess that expecting, say, a luvvie actress to take waste 5,500 miles back to LA on a plane is asking a bit much.

  24. pugnazious says:

This is what happens when BBC journos allow their prejudice and moral grandstanding to take precedence over fact and truth…

In fact the news came from a respected news agency and mainstream news outlets…..AFP news agency…..not ‘social media’…

Someone in Sri Lanka might want to deny having been warned of the attacks…because it would show a complete failure of intelligence in not stopping the attacks even when warned about them 10 days previously.

The BBC is now reporting 207 killed (murdered), another 450 injured (one assumes some so seriously they may yet lose their fight for life).

At time of this writing – 13:47pm, the BBC still hasn’t the faintest idea who could possibly have perpetrated this atrocity. If it was some nutty far right group we’d have an in-depth expose, with pics, from The Corporation by now.

  27. pugnazious says:

Just how dangerous is the BBC narrative about the Backstop as it practically encouraged the mindset that there would be justification for the IRA to start murdering people #duetobrexit?

Well it looks to have cost a journalist her life….ironically in a ‘show of strength’ by the IRA intended to shape that narrative even more along those lines as MTV was filming a programme with the BBC’s Reggie Yates in NI about how Brexit had ‘inflamed tensions’ adopting the same BBC narrative.

‘A gunman aiming to kill police shot the 29-year-old journalist in the head after he fired indiscriminately during disturbances in the Creggan estate.

Presenter Reggie Yates had been filming an episode for his new eight-part series called Reggie Yates vs The World ‘focusing on how Brexit has reignited tensions in Northern Ireland’, reports the Sunday Times.

A Snapchat picture seen by the newspaper shows the BBC Three presenter near the junction where Ms McKee tragically lost her life just hours before.

One community worker told the Sunday Times: ‘Tensions had been rising in the area and there is a strong belief that they were being stoked by dissidents for the benefit of the film crew.”

The BBC’s own toxic reporting, its lies about the necessity for a backstop and its lies about the possibility of a ‘smart border’, have contributed to the death of fellow journalist Lyra McKee.

The BBC has stoked tensions and inflamed the situation with its fake news, irresponsible ‘journalism’ and anti-Brexit prejudice.

Lol….Is the BBC biased? has noticed Marr being ‘twittered’ for mentioning the unmentionable…..ie The Truth….after the 2016 referendum…

‘“Waves of migration and globalised culture washed among us, eroding our sense of self… but the self-confidently multi-ethnic, liberal, urban class… barely noticed.”

Trouble is he’s not alone….Newsnight in 2018 reminded us of the damaging effects of mass immigration of ‘alien’ peoples who bring with them beliefs, values and politics that are incompatible with the West’s…

‘Western democracies are struggling, the social cohesion on which our political consensus is founded has shattered giving way to ideological diversity and undermining our national sense of belonging….we are less defined by economics but more by identity.

Odd though how such a narrative is ‘Far-Right’ when out of the mouths of anyone else….and curious that the BBC recognises ‘identity’ trumps economics…so why is it focussing solely on economics when it frames the debate on Brexit when the vote was about ‘identity’…sovereignty and control.

Laughably the cowardly Marr backs down and squeals that he has‘ “not a shred of anti-immigrant feeling” ‘

The Sun tells me that 40% of Tory Councilors back the Brexit Party and 75% want May to resign, much to her “dismay.”

The Sun also tells me that Corbyn mocked captured British troops during a rally in 2005 and that the incomparable Dianne Abbott was filmed drinking alcohol on an “overground” train.

In a sane society, the likes of Corbyn and Abbott would only ever operate underground, in the shadows where they belong.

(I should add that the Sun did not shower Abbott with sympathy as did other alleged publications – which fact my esteemed colleagues pointed out elsewhere on this thread.)

This brings me to the horrendous prospect of a Labour government, quite likely since the Tories seem more split and damaged than Labour and both UKIP and Brexit are likely to attract more disenchanted Tory voters than Labour voters.

A pessimist would say, if you can see light at the end of this tunnel you’re facing the wrong way.

Perhaps a realist would also say the same.

What would an optimist say, I find myself wondering.

  37. pugnazious says:

Marr is retweeting a C4 attack on Leave.EU claiming that they faked stories about migrants…

Trouble is C4 don’t give us anything like the full story on the photographs…just their own interpretation of events and the intention behind them. Were they posed and if so what was the context, how was this to be ‘sold’? If sold as genuine then maybe C4 has a case on the photos, but if they were posed as examples of what happens then hardly so….the BBC does this all the time.

With the boat smuggling in migrants C4 has no case whatsoever. The intent of the film was clear…to show how open Britain’s borders are to people smuggling….the fact that the ‘migrants’ were not actually migrants is irrelevant…the fact is they were able to bring them across the Channel and drop them off at a British port unchallenged.

C4 claims the boat log shows it never happened…but the film shows them being picked up in France….did they swim back across? The log actually shows the boat crossing and re-crossing the Channel….why do that if faking a crossing?

Looking at the C4 video it looks like someone has been altering the dates on the log….look at the ones for Folkestone and you’ll see full date and time…2016-06-17 09:52 UTC….on the Channel crossing some information is missing…it’s either the day or the time…..2016-06-18.44 UTC. The Channel crossing was in daylight so the time cannot be 00:44….and the two 0’s should be there anyway if that was the time. So is the ’18’ the date or the time ie 18:44? If not the date was that because the boat crossed on the 17th and dropped off the ‘migrants’ as said?

Is C4 faking its story and manipulating the data to fabricate yet another hatchet job on Banks and Brexit? Cock up or conspiracy?

Not as if Campion was wrong…as C4 tell us…lol….

‘You could land here quite unnoticed and obviously people do….’

So what was wrong with the premise of the Leave film exactly?

I notice the Mail has an article by someone called John Gray, calling UKIP a ‘ hard, far-right’ party which has ‘more in common with European neo-Fascist parties’.
I bet this little boy would have a hard job even trying to explain what ‘Fascist’ means, let alone analysing UKIP policy.
No doubt it will have something to do with being not ‘open’ or ‘tolerant’ or ‘diverse’ enough, and Mr G will be paying lip-service to e.g. border control, without serious consideration of implications of the relevant policies of the ‘centre’, he so much loves. Give him credit though, he has detected that, under J Corbyn, Labour has become more ‘extreme’. That’s a relief; I initially thought Gray was going to tell us he was a solid ‘centrist’.
I suppose Nigel is now ‘the centre’, to where he has graduated from his former position of ‘far right’?
    Bet Mr Gray is pleased..
Now if I were tempted to buy a copy of the Mail, I should imagine it would make a good bin-liner. Serious political analysis is certainly going to be found elsewhere.

Not one mention of the group despite it being widely reported by most other news outlets….’one group’…who might that be?

For some reason the BBC do provide us with a tweet from a Muslim showing thier ‘humanity’and love for mankind….

And their reporter is a Muslim…Azzam Ameen.

Odd then that the BBC should not mention the likely identity of the killers.

Bet they are hoping desperately for a Muslim victim to be brought out of the wreckage…Muslims are victims of these non-Muslim extremists you know…in fact the main victims as they will be looked upon with suspicion even more now.

    Hmmm…wonder why.

One of the most dangerous organisations in the UK should not be at the centre of our national life…it covers up, excuses and legitimises terrorism and extremism, its journalism kills US cops, Irish journalists and Jews, it spreads division and hate between races, generations and UK nations, it sows discontent and anger about capitalism [except when Big Business aligns with their anti-Brexit narrative…then the lorries must roll and factories churn out goods on an industrial scale whilst sacking workers and replacing them with cheaper foreign ones here or abroad], a BBC that looks the other way when it comes to Labour’s anti-Semitism little problem, a BBC that undermines democracy in this country and cheerleads a Remain coup and the crushing of a huge democratic vote, a BBC that fabricates a narrative about the Far-Right portraying anyone who talks about Islam or immigration as neo-Nazis, a BBC that pumps out radical green eco propaganda and acts as the voice for climate change extremists, cheerleading instead of challenging those who hold London to ransom, a BBC that spent two years, and is still doing so, telling absolute lies about Trump and Russia…lies that were blatantly obvious….how was Russia supporting Trump when they provided the Democrats with highly damaging claims about Trump’s alleged behaviour in Russia intended to disrupt his campaign…and why does the BBC not ask why Russian intelligence was working with the Democrats? Is it not the Democrats who were colluding with the Russians…Clinton who received millions of dollars from Russia. The BBC’s own Paul Wood actually tells us that the information came from Russian intelligence…and yet doesn’t think that odd at all…

‘Claims about a Russian blackmail tape were made in one of a series of reports written by a former British intelligence agent. As a member of MI6, he had been posted to the UK’s embassy in Moscow and now runs a consultancy giving advice on doing business in Russia. He spoke to a number of his old contacts in the FSB, the successor to the KGB, paying some of them for information

Huh? What? The KGB kindly provided the ‘kompromat’ or at least the claims…lol.

This is of course the same BBC Paul Wood who made a totally false claim about Trump…..and the BBC has had to apologise….

BBC to pay ‘substantial’ sum for story libelling Ukrainian president

News report on TV and online claimed Petro Poroshenko had bribed Donald Trump’s lawyer’

The BBC of course has scrubbed the story from the internet…or not…

‘Breaking news is just off the wires at the BBC.

It appears the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, was willing to go the extra mile to ensure he would appear to be a close ally of Donald Trump in public last year:

Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, received a secret payment of at least $400,000 (£300,000) to fix talks between the Ukrainian president and President Trump, according to sources in Kiev close to those involved.’

The same Paul Wood who made ‘the case for Christopher Steele’ and who still portrays Trump as guilty of collusion with Russia….then again so do all other BBC journos.

      ‘In defence of Christopher Steele
Who is the British agent at the heart of the Trump-Russia conspiracies?’

“”Record Easter temperatures in three nations of the UK””

But Easter varies in date. This Easter is almost the latest Easter ‘evva’.

But it wasn’t a record in England, the fourth nation. Not global warming then, as intimated.

    • StewGreen says:

Mark Hodgson said \\”Three of the UK’s nations have recorded their highest ever Easter Sunday temperatures, the Met Office has said.
      – Scotland’s peak was 23.4C (74F), in Edinburgh, while in Wales the hotspot was Hawarden Airport in Flintshire, which reached 23.2C.
      – Northern Ireland beat a 95-year-old record when the mercury hit 21C at Helen’s Bay near Bangor.
      – England’s highest temperature so far has been 25C – in Wisley, Surrey – just shy of the record of 25.3C.”

Given that Easter Sunday is on a completely different date every year, but is very late this year (the internet tells me it can be any date between 22nd March and 25th April) it shouldn’t really be surprising that temperatures this year are higher than usual on an Easter Sunday. I also note that the new Welsh “record” was at an airport, which surely makes it a rather dubious record? And it isn’t the record in England.

What I would like to know (can anyone tell me?) is whether today’s temperatures have set a record for 21st April or for April generally? If neither, then the “Easter Sunday record temperatures” claim would start to look a bit limp.//

      • StewGreen says:
