Sometimes I think I’m thick and far too susceptible to propaganda. All day I have been thinking that Quentin Sommerville had given the ISIS wife’s husband an unexpectedly hard time during his interview and I was starting to believe that the BBC had changed its tune. But you have clarified this for me, Deborah. It’s all in order that we feel sorry for Shamima.

They are interviewing her husband now as well, the upstanding chap who plotted a terror attack in Holland before joining Isis. Considering the entirely reasonable people who have been unpersoned and no platformed it really leaves a bitter taste to see so much coverage being lavished on the absolute scum of the Earth.

Civilians have been removed but the town hasn’t been nuked yet . Can I complain to some one ? ( actually I think the yanks are using it for target practice .

Obviously the BBC doesn’t want to mention this as a fair number of soon to be dead ISIS vermin will have had UK addresses .

That Cassandra is exactly what the BBC are doing and always have done. They are the conduit for the evil that has and still is enveloping this nation. Did you manage to hear the BBC4 this morning, claiming they carried out a poll to see how people considered as to whether Immigtaion had been a postive or a negative for the UK-I know what I would have answered-however this so called poll supposedly claimed that the majority thought immigration had been a positive event for us, but only a much smaller percentage supported a negative view. This of course supported the claim that the Uk had gained from Multiculturalism. BUT the BBC did not seperate the question, such as Western Europeans Eastern Block Europeans and those from Middle East/Africa/ Pakistan et al. OH no that would have ruined the whole exercise. If it wasn’t true you would not believe it.

I didn’t hear it Tarian but I was told about it. I had a paper round nearly fifty years ago and I started listening to Radio 4 and Today. I stopped listening around a year ago because I grew tired of the incessant multicultural biased left-wing BBC propaganda. Strangely enough I was listening to LBC just as James O’Brien was starting his three hour monologue and he started quoting the findings of this poll by Prof. Rob Ford of Manchester University. I’ve spent the last hour looking at what he actually does and it’s obvious why the BBC, The Guardian and James O’Brien use his ‘research’ to support their argument that the UK is a multicultural utopia.

Which explains why the Arabs supported Britain during WW1 against Turkey….and demanded their own nations….which they got…and now the BBC blames ‘Balfour’ or ‘Sykes-Picot’ for ‘carving up the Middle East’ and thus causing all the problems there now….there would have been a war of independence by the Arabs against Turkey eventually…and what would have been the result of that?

What he says is very similar to this….Orthodox Islam, the real Islam, crushed progress….

‘Pervez Hoodbhoy is professor of nuclear and high-energy physics at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. This article is based on a speech delivered at the Center for Inquiry International conference in Atlanta, Georgia, 2001.

“In the twelfth century Muslim orthodoxy reawakened, spearheaded by the cleric Imam Al-Ghazali. Al-Ghazali championed revelation over reason, predestination over free will. He refuted the possibility of relating cause to effect, teaching that man cannot know or predict what will happen; God alone can. He damned mathematics as against Islam, an intoxicant of the mind that weakened faith.

Islam choked in the vicelike grip of orthodoxy.

It was the end of tolerance, intellect, and science in the Muslim world. The last great Muslim thinker, Abd- al Rahman ibn Khaldun, belonged to the 14th century.

For Muslims, it is time to stop wallowing in self-pity: Muslims are not helpless victims of conspiracies hatched by an all-powerful, malicious West. The fact is that the decline of Islamic greatness took place long before the age of mercantile imperialism. The causes were essentially internal. Therefore Muslims must introspect, and ask what went wrong.

        Pug,
Let’s see, where have I come across this before? – (Orthodox Islam, the real Islam), “….crushed progress….”.
Now, was it Galileo or Copernicus or Kepler (1625) that equally had problems with religion? Answer: all of them, putting, it can validly be argued, science, particularly physics and observational astronomy back over 100 years directly as a result of religious dogmatism. The joke is, since the Middle Ages, the religious texts have been, “reinterpreted” to fit progress. Except one that is.
Islam. The quaran is the word of god as delivered by Mo. The islamic “God” is held to be perfect. Therefore, the words of god, being equally perfect, cannot be changed or reinterpreted. Conclusion: The backward islam will be with us forever in its original 7th Century form. That is until it is imposed on the World. This is the ultimate goal.

The tedious treachery of the Brexit saga may indeed inspire tiredness but not I suspect always in the way the mainstream media would like.
I’m certainly tired of the incessant bias emanating from the BBC and its ilk but my opinion won’t be swayed in the direction they’d like one jot. In fact their continued bias only makes me feel more determined to oppose it.
On BBC teletext this evening (some of us still read it even if is old fashioned techno), I noticed a ‘news’ article about a ‘Banned lesbian love story’ winning an award for a Kenyan actress at Africa’s largest film festival.
Apparently the film is banned in her own country because homosexuality ‘is illegal in Kenya – a legacy of British colonial-era rule’. So it’s Britain’s fault?
Even here, the BBC can’t resist hatred for Britain’s illustrious past any more than resisting the unrelenting sneering at Trump, Brexit or the so called ‘Far Right’.

    • Richard Pinder says:

What the BBC wont tell you is what would have happened if Kenya was still under the influence of the residual powers of the British Empire.

In the West Indies, the Queen rules over 17 Territories. Anguilla, Antigua, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbuda, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, Nevis, Saint Kitts, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent & The Grenadines and the Turks & Caicos Islands. The last two Imperial edicts imposed in the 21st Century were imposed by Labour Party Cultural Imperialists, abolishing the death penalty and legalising homosexuality in the British Empire. This has been very unpopular in the West Indies and although this edict did not cover Jamaica which still has the death penalty. The Labour Party Cultural Imperialist can interfere with the independence of Jamaica through the Privy Council. The Queen of Jamaica can pardon murderers, but the decision of the Queen is not personal, the decision is made by the Privy Council which is dominated by white liberal left-wing cultural imperialists. This means that the decadent left-wing imperialist, Jeremy Corbyn, has the ability to vote to pardon a Jamaican murderer. Kenya is a republic, therefore not subject to the residual powers of the British Empire. Therefore homosexuality is still illegal in Kenya and the left-wing cultural imperialists haven’t got the power to make British Imperialism unpopular in Kenya any more.

Imperialism: (1) The policy or practice of extending European Union rule over other territories. (2) An instance or policy of aggressive behaviour by the EU against other territories. (3) The extension or attempted extension of authority, influence and power by the EU.

I also remember reading about a Singaporean education expert who said that Singapore was luck to get independence just in time, before the Labour Party could fuck up Singapore’s education, with left-wing progressive education.

Sweet…The BBC want you to know poor old Shamima Begum was just a little ole housewife who knew nothing…just a regular family that happened to be in Syria….

‘Shamima Begum: What was life like for the IS couple in Syria?
Shamima Begum said she joined the Islamic State group (IS) in search of the perfect family life, and it was in Raqqa, shortly after she arrived in Syria four years ago, that it arranged a marriage between her and Dutch armed extremist Yago Riedijk.

She was 15 at the time and he was 23. In the UK, he would be guilty of statutory rape. [trouble is they were in Syria where the age of consent is apparently…15…not sure what the age of consent for beheadings and mass murder is though…surely the real issue here]

He sits opposite me in a yellow plastic chair, 27 years old now, in a freezing interview room in a Kurdish detention centre. His guards have just removed his handcuffs.

If I see Shamima, he asks me to “tell her that I love her and have patience”.

“Hopefully soon we’ll be together again and things will turn out all right – hopefully.”

Maybe we need a more realisitic view of what went on….from a Muslim woman…

“It’s quite reductionist,” she tells me firmly, “to call them ‘jihadi brides’. They’re facilitators, logisticians, propagandists. There’s more to these women socially, politically, psychologically, culturally, that we don’t understand and that we need to understand.”

The BBC is so happy that it has found that now more people think mass immigration along with wage suppression, high house prices, mass Islamic child rape and so on is a positive than a negative in a piece titled

“Has the UK changed its mind on immigration?”

    https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-47428515

    They go on to explain:

“Almost half the people in the UK believe immigration has been positive for the country, a poll for the BBC’s Crossing Divides season suggests. Just over a quarter of nearly 1,500 people who took the Ipsos-Mori online survey felt it had a negative impact.”

As ever the propaganda and lies are subtle and deceptive, Because of course its an online survey so its not representative “of half British people” at all, and of course there is no guarantee its even British people answering the questions, and we know that the BBC lie and distort as seen in the recent Panodrama documentary, and the BBC has been caught planting people in the audience pretending to be members of the public and pretending to be pro-brexit vicars encouraging a “soft brexit”

What can be done about the BBC, and much of the MSM and their complete unwillingness to comment or recognise immigrant crime ?
BBC this morning “Home secretary: ‘Knife crime can’t go on” not a single mention of the root of the problem:
Knifers are BLACK immigrants, generally from Africa and the West Indies whether they hold a UK passport or not they are from immigrant stock: This is also actively ignored and / or hidden by the BBC and generally MSM.

“BBC despateches: The number of police-recorded offenders aged under 18 committing homicides using a knife or sharp instrument rose by 77% from 26 to 46 from 2016 to 2018, the programme found after analysing Freedom of Information request responses from 29 out of 43 police forces.”

Not one single mention of ethnicity of the perpetrator, unless it is by a black person who somehow makes them victims of something or other and not criminals.

Rape gangs targetting white children exclusively are Pakistani / Asian immigrants whether they hold a UK passport ot not they are from immigrant stock.

Both are a failure to integrate into OUR culture and values, which we should be demanding without hesitation of immigrants and their children and childrens children rather than educating them in Mosques / islamc special schools..

Look at the countries these criminals come from and these crimes are common there, Nigeria, South Africa, Pakinstan etc. they are bringing their criminal culture with them.

An alcoholic can only get better once they realise they are alcoholic, and the same with this issue.

I’m copying Pugnazious’s post from the previous weekend thread as it deserves shouting from the rooftops:

Former Equality Chief Accuses BBC of ‘Whitewashing’ Black-on-Black Knife Crime

Trevor Phillips has accused the BBC of “whitewashing” crime stories by not addressing the high number of black-on-black stabbings, and warned politicians and police to stop ignoring the links between race and gang violence.
Mr Phillips, the former head of the United Kingdom’s Equality and Human Rights Commission (ECHR), made the comments in an opinion piece in The Telegraph on Friday, following a string of stabbings in London and Birmingham.
Referencing a report released on Thursday which revealed that some 27,000 under-19s in England identify themselves as being part of a gang, Mr Phillips noted that in terms of youth gang violence, “black boys are more than 20 times as likely to be involved in serious attacks compared with their white peers.”
“Yet, to read our newspapers and to listen to our media, you would imagine that race played no part in this issue at all,” the Policy Exchange think tank senior fellow wrote.
“The BBC in particular is guilty of whitewashing the truth. Its defence is that race should only be reported where it is relevant. Yet it has no qualms about routinely describing stop and search by police in racial terms.”
“The daily parade of dark faces in items about knife crime tells its own story,” he remarked. “And the routine appearance of such individuals as ‘Olu from Brixton’ in radio interviews would provoke howls of ‘racist dog-whistling’ around Broadcasting House were the BBC’s own journalists not so deeply complicit in the silence.”

“Why Tommy Robinson should not be banned

Facebook and Instagram’s ban confirms that corporate censorship is out of control.
There are many disturbing things about this latest act of Silicon Valley silencing of an awkward public voice. The first is the apparent involvement of Mohammed Shafiq, CEO of the Ramadhan Foundation. Yesterday Shafiq boasted about having met with Facebook representatives to encourage them to ban Robinson over his ‘brainwashing’ of his followers into feeling ‘racism’ towards Muslims. This is the same Mohammed Shafiq who once attended an event with Hassan Haseeb ur Rehman, a Pakistani cleric who praised the murder in 2011 of the governor of Punjab, Salman Taseer, by a radical Islamist who despised Taseer for his opposition to Pakistan’s blasphemy laws and his calls for the Christian ‘blasphemer’, Asia Bibi, to be released from jail. Shafiq also called for the anti-extremist campaigner Maajid Nawaz to be dumped as a parliamentary candidate for the Liberal Democrats after Nawaz committed the speechcrime of tweeting a cartoon of Jesus & Mo. All of which raises a question: why is Facebook reportedly taking advice from someone like that? Does it also meet with campaigning Christians and jot down which critics of Christ they would like to see removed from its website?”

Nazi a Paveen – the North of England reporter for the Guardian gleefully reports that TR is being subject to a defamation suit because of the video and comments about a playground fight involving some migrant / refugee kid .

Obviously there is a paki lawyer representing the kid and family and a funding site .

It seems not only do we have Project Fear over Brexit every day but also Project Get TR too .

These foreigners and traitors don’t know much about the real British character – particularly when ‘ up against the wall’ . ?

The BBC poll…notice use of phrase that “they used the same methodology” – this in itself means they are hiding something..otherwise why make this unnecessary statement – you would expect them to if it is repeat of a study – still doesn’t make it a good study? But more interesting is how they now say that just after Brexit we all became more positive about immigration yet for the last 2 years after Brexit the BBC have been telling us that there have been more racial attacks on immigrants and an increase in xenophobia – doesn’t add up does it? I haven’t looked at the research but I will later….just for the fun..

Sorry having my BBC morning rant as haven’t listened /wathed it for 5 days.
Report on breakfast how they are having a push to get more females into aviation – I noted on Breakfast in the sapce of 30 mins. 2 female presenters, Aviation Minister female, Crime minister female, 2 weather presenters female , 2 local news presenters female – I didn’t see a man on BBC in that 30 mins – then I switched off
No noise about the lack of male nurses, primary and secondary school teachers, university lecturers in health and social science studies – and I am sure I could find a lot more areas where the numbers of females outweigh males….oh yes law and medicine.. so where is the balance in the Balanced Broadcasting Corporation?

I never understand the lefts logical thinking when calling out corps and orgs on not having enough female workers/employees

“We’ve noticed you have a disproportionate level of male employees compared to female…you must be a sexist company and hold the female in society back”…let’s create policies to enable females to have a better chance in the said specific industry. (Bore off) create privilege then call out the opposite side for having privilege.

No logic is used, no thought to the type of job, no questioning if females want to work in that job. And finally because this really annoys some lefties, jobs should be offered to the best applicant, not based on race religion skin colour or gender ( regardless of how many made up genders we have to choose from now ) “allegedly”

Only one explanation possible: The equality virus causes common sense, genuine insight and analysis, and thoughtfulness to die off, and a sort of mindless, robotic brain to take over.
This mindless ‘equality’ obsession will become ever more apparent when you are treated by an ‘affirmative action’ doctor if you are ill,or your aircraft is piloted by a ‘quota’ representative.
We can already look at the current failings of our police and speculate what may be happening if quotas and affirmative action had not played a role in senior appointments.

Humph interviewing some Tory girl droning on about stabbing killings . Typical lightweight . Then they got a Blair appointed police chief ( now a peer of course)
To also drone on about knife crime – which is caused by drugs of course – I disagree .

Knife crime is increasing because the kids have little control . They are taught they have ‘ rights’ but no responsibilities . So do as you damn want – including carrying a blade

Hogan Howe thinks people who carry weapons touch them a lot – which will be a dead give away for plod . Apparently he wasn’t being funny . I blame the martians

Lord Hogan hero Howe must meet a lot of black feral 14 year old kids in the House of Lords . All I have to do is open the front door and wait 5 minutes to see a few .

I think the Tory girl was from the Home Office. Lightweight indeed; seems it’s all wimmin now, running things, which may explain a lot.
Crap talked: the consumers are to blame, cos they create demand. Humph says it’s ‘middle class’ sniffers. I have a choice comment for him, but it’s unprintable.
Hogan Howe says there is no racial element. I have my doubts. Could we be importing, from South Africa, the phenomenon of black on white racist violence – including murder? How else could you describe/explain what happened this weekend? The girl stabbed in the back in a park, for instance…
Humph says excluded pupils should be put back into school. How thick and naive can you get? He hasn’t a clue, has he? Absolutely none. A waste of space on radio if ever there was one.
As usual, lots of attempts to take blame away from the criminals and find excuses for them.
      Typical BBC!

Fedup2, I heard the interview and Humph asked, ‘could she not put more police on the ground’? The correct question would have been could she not put more police on the ground ‘in the areas’ where knife crime is most prevalent. But of course that would political suicide for our spineless politicians who are running scared of the #BiasedBBC and other left liberal activists. It seems in UK that in order to tackle local knife crime problems that the entire country has to be policed equally. No wonder it is justifiably called the thin blue line, because it has to be uniformly and hence thinly applied. (hah, an unintentional pun!)

I don’t mix with many young people outside of the family and within the family race , Brexit etc are not discussed so as to avoid heated disagreements. However this weekend I was on a long train journey and happened to be sat close to four young chaps in their early twenties who were returning from a hiking weekend. They were well spoken , considerate to other passengers and behaved well. At first they talked of their hike etc but after a while I heard them mention Tommy Robinson and they were all of the opinion that Tommy was a racist bigot who had no place in the country. They then spent a good half hour exchanging views that were probably lifted right off the BBC or Guardian about immigration, diversity , racism etc.
It made me cringe that other wise sensible young men really did have such ‘ woke’ views . These guys seem not to have thought about what their views will lead to. They seem to think it will be a cosy multyculty diverse future with no downsides let alone the massive existentialist threat attached to it. In ten or twenty years time These chaps are likely to be representative of the future middle class of our country, the people who are in the engine room of society. Their indoctrination is complete, God help us all.

Agree entirely, these views are heard by many young people, not queried and then passed on in casual conversation. My younger son, late 20’s, multilingual (5 languages fluently), master’s degree and professionally qualified, expressed disgust a few weeks ago about ‘Disgraceful Murdoch funding the Tories’. I asked how he, Murdoch (of Sky) could fund the Tories as he is not a U.K. resident. I also pointed out Murdoch’s papers having previously supported Labour, and imo being responsible for BLiar and the damage his reign inflicted upon us.

Unless young people look into assertions like that as so many here do, they won’t ever be disabused.

I never expect the MSM to provide me with news. I look elsewhere. Happily, there are commentators, pundits, and scholars on-line, who have a grasp of the happenings in the world, as well as news sources like RT, Fox, and to a degree, Breitbart, who between them, manage to fill in the gaps that the MSM litter their “news” with.

The younger generation sometimes absorb what the MSM spews out, but more often than not aren’t particularly interested, so are unlikely to go searching the internet for facts.

Mind you, it’s not just the young – the current Mme Goat believes everything she hears and sees on the wireless and the telly, and doesn’t feel the need to question any of it. Attempts by her exasperated husband to point out that that she’s being roundly lied to, usually result in “you don’t know what you’re talking about”, at which point I give in, and shut up. Parenthood is a great eye opener, as is real, firsthand experience of being a victim of crime, and actually owning anything – which is one of many reasons why I think it’s good to enable the young to purchase their own homes, and have a material stake in society, ASAP.

Imam Tawhidi does not support Sharia Law, believes that the law of the land is superior to law of religion, and that violent Sharia Law must not be applied. The reason for this is: People must have the full right and complete authority to form their own laws and choose their own leaders.
    https://imamtawhidi.com/vision/#1536317153547-c2677637-9c4d
Imam Tawhidi believes that all Islamic Governments and Caliphates are illegitimate. The role of religion is to ‘guide’ and not ‘govern’, therefore all religious scriptures cannot be used as government constitutions.

Imam Tawhidi also believes that Prophet Mohammad’s government was a myth which did not exist. His forthcoming book sheds light on this matter
Religion should never be mixed with politics, and a government must never govern in the name of a religion. Governments should function based upon an agreed upon constitution and not upon the religion of the ruler.

Imam Tawhidi leads annual processions against ISIS throughout Australia, and he calls onto all Muslim Imams to speak out against terrorist organizations; while publicly condemning Imams who remain silent.
Imam Tawhidi believes that apostates and those who leave Islam are not to be harmed in any way. They must not be forced into believing what they do not wish to believe.

On gay marriage, Imam Tawhidi believes in following the law of the land.

On homosexuals: Imam Tawhidi does not support hating, harming or killing homosexuals; and believes that their human rights must be protected.

Imam Tawhidi supports the deportation of Islamic Extremists, Islamists, and all those charged with terror offences. Likewise, he supports the revoking citizenships from terrorists who depart the country to join Jihad in the Middle East.

    Imam Tawhidi:

believes that Palestine is Jewish land. His Huffington Post article ‘Why I Believe Palestine is Jewish land’ can be found here.
acknowledges The Holocaust and the historical and current suffering of the Jewish people,
rejects all forms of Anti-Semitism, has adopted the ‘INTERNATIONAL DEFINITION OF ANTISEMITISM’ as the standard definition of ‘Anti-Semitism’

Imam Tawhidi separates between ‘Halal Food’ and ‘Halal Certification’. He has denounced ‘Halal Certification’ as a business in the name of religion and an insult to Non-Muslims. Imam Tawhidi believes that Muslims should have an ‘App’ or a website that lists all of the foods they can and cannot consume, instead of charging the majority of the nation money for Halal Certificationto be applied on products in public supermarkets.

Wonder why we have a stunning silence from so many of “them” over here regarding the above ??

Imam Tawhidi was escorted by police into hiding after he made the comments, in fear of retribution from the Muslim community, 7 News reported.
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4382314/Imam-Tawhidi-Ayaan-Hirsi-Ali-shut-Muslim-schools-down.html
His call comes after Islam critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali, 47, likened extreme Muslim groups to white supremacists.

We should treat Hizb ut-Tahrir the way we treat skin heads and white supremacists and all sorts of remnants of the Nazi party,’ she told 7 News on Tuesday night.

Hizb ut-Tahrir hit headlines last week after it said all Muslims who left the religion should be put to death.
Ms Ali, a Somali-born writer and former Dutch politician, has loudly campaigned against Sharia law and radical Islam for years.

Ms Ali said members of the Muslim community prioritised Sharia law and the doctrine of radical Islam over basic human rights.

Ms Ali has been widely condemned by members of the Australian Muslim community this year.

She was forced to abruptly cancel her Australian speaking tour in March for security reasons after Sharia law supporters circulated a petition calling for her tour to be stopped.

Nearly 400 people signed an online petition against Ms Hirsi Ali’s speaking tour.

Ms Hirsi Ali was due to speak at events in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland this week, but their cancellation was announced on Monday. Her critics were not silenced after she cancelled her tour.

A ‘propaganda’ video was posted online on Monday labelling her a racist and sexist.

The three-minute clip, posted to Facebook by a group called Persons of Interest, described Ms Ali as a ‘white supremacist’.

‘This is the language of patriarchy and misogyny. This is the language of white supremacy. This is the language used to justify war and genocide,’ women in the video said.

    Vine’s hedge-rage
I just spotted something local on Twitter
The Vine show is going to be talking about a hedge in a local village.
The dumb property developer should have got planning permission in October and then cut down the hedge in the winter.
Instead he has just put in for planning permission, and in anticipation the other weekend got contractors to net the hedge, cos if the birds start nesting in it, it will be 6 months before he can legally touch it. On the Sunday people said birds were trapped. The RSPCA said it was OK cos there were enough gaps for them to escape. Then on the Monday some local cut the netting away anyway.
But by then Chris Packham and the London lot piled in, that’s Vine is tweeting about it.
There’s loads of other hedges not far away, I can’t see a problem with removing this one.

Ah Vine did read a tweet from a local resident who called it a storm in a teacup.
BTW I lived for 4 years in that village.

Twitter has just 2 tweets about the segment , that might show very few people were listening to him

Shmuck doesn’t know how to knot his tie.

A friend and I are doing an informal survey. We’ve noticed a number of left to far-left activist types have no idea how to knot a tie.

The knot looks secure, if not asymmetrical.
The material from which the tie is made is probably strong enough to support the weight of a human.
Or a subhuman **** like Mandy.

As long as it’s a slip knot and you fasten the correct end to the branch it doesn’t really matter.

I think all BBC employees should be required to wear a tie.

i had a quiet chuckle to myself yesterday when Jeremy Corbyn was doing the rounds, visiting some of the mosques in his vicinity while at the same time expressing his horror at antisemitism. And not just any old mosque; he chose Finsbury Park. At no point did I hear anyone in the media mention the rather unfortunate history of this notorious establishment.
It’s not that long ago that this was the spiritual home to Abu Hamza and Richard Reid, the shoe bomber. It was regarded as Al Qaeda’s London hotel. In the basement they found an impressive arsenal of weaponry. Hand guns, machine guns and grenades… Not a bleedin’ whisper about it. All I heard is that poor old Jezza got egged by an irate Brexiteer.
This action was stupid…if understandable. It doesn’t look good, indeed it isn’t good and it gives the BBC a nice angle to attack all of us that believe in Brexit. But it hardly compares to instigating terrorism or trying to blow a plane out of the sky.
Jezza’s unfortunate experience has been treated sympathetically, by and large. Whereas I very well recall Nigel Farage being pelted by eggs, threatened by ruffians, verbally abused and all the journalist asked was “What is it about you that forces people to behave like this?” Eh?
As for the egg thrower, he should be thoroughly ashamed of himself…
How the hell did he miss Diane Abbott?

I too chuckled Jeff. Corbyn should think himself lucky it was only an egg. Those of other faiths when entering their own churches have not been so fortunate. I particularly remember the priest in France who had his throat cut by a Muslim whilst in the confines of his own place of worship.

I don’t care how much positive spin is put on the Islamic faith, the damage has been done.

The EU will continue to decline economically, whilst continuing to progress towards the Soviet model.
Peter Lilley, an old fashioned Conservative.
Has a link to the report, a 26 page .pdf, which I have not yet read.

I haven’t read it either, LCS, although I can guess at some of the stuff in there. Was maybe going to try to write a header piece on UK opportunities and try to get it approved by Fed & TT for closer to Brexit Day, if that is not delayed so I will not blether on now.

Peter Lilley is old enough to remember another Peter, Peter Shore MP, from the opposite side of the House but maybe in spirit an old fashioned small ‘c’ conservative. Before the 1975 EU (mis)Referendum, Peter Shore pointed out in an Oxford Union, I think, Debate that the UK’s Trade Deficit had worsened by 50% in just over two years of EEC (EU) membership. Just one example.
