Sourbry has left the Tories for the new party. My guess is that this party will be the BBC’s new favourites. Blairites and Remainers and at least someone to complain about Brexit.

Corbyn’s side of Labour have now collapsed which might disappoint the BBC but lets see how long before they latch onto the new group and let us know how great these guys are and how we must all vote for them!

Nothing on the BBC on Liam Fox managing to work on a deal with the big bad Americans though…

  5. StewGreen says:

Yes why are BBC bad news stories .. like Honda given the Brexit hashtag
and not given the “Climate Change Act” “Green Policy” hashtag ?
..same for when electric prices go up

    • Zelazek says:

Yes, Lucy, throughout this whole Jihadi schoolgirl saga, I never heard the names of David Haines or Alan Henning mentioned once.

Coming soon: New BBC classic drama adaptation with a modern diverse twist:

    Jihadi Brides-heads-in-a-bin Revisisted

  9. Loobyloo says:

Listened to a bit of JV today for the first time in ages – wow, the bias is strong and blatant! Almost desperate Project Fear. Also, luvvie privileged bubble world – Victoria Mather talking about Karl Lagerfeld “I wore Chanel pearls for my engagement photos”

    Yeah, we all did that…

    • JimS says:

His Japan item didn’t do much for my blood pressure!

Apparently the Japanese love us but can’t understand why we want to leave the EU! Maybe so we can form a closer relationship with Japan?

One reason Honda are shutting up shop, we are told, is because the EU has negotiated tariff arrangements that means it is easier for Japan to export to the EU directly. Perhaps that is against our interests? Ah, but as we are no longer a member of the EU, (since when?), we were unable to influence the negotiations! (If Japan was such a friend of the UK wouldn’t they have looked after us?)

As we all know the EU bangs out a trade deal in a week flat, or more likely ten years and only then if there is a tail wind.

The whole item was just a fake anti-Brexit construction with no basis on reality at all. Will no-one hold the BBC to account?

      • Beltane says:

Oddly enough there’s one fairly significant point about the Japan/EU tariff arrangements that has had very little mention so far – they are due to apply in about 7 years from now.
Just about the same time they’ll be sweeping up the last remains of the EU then.

  10. Annunaki says:

Nothing about the only British firework factory closing down due to EU regulations ?

  11. smoogie7 says:

Just wondering what people think of Soubry and a couple of lesser knowns leaving the Tories.

I know a few people are put off by some of the remainers in the party and I wonder if Sourby leaving and maybe taking some of the trouble makers with her might have a better outcome for the party?

The Tories are actually leading in the polls thanks to Labour’s demise and one recent poll including the new party has not hit them like it has hit Labour. Today the Tories are eight points ahead in a Yougov poll, their highest rating since the GE while the last time anyone got 8 points was Labour during Corbyn’s silly ‘surge’ and that poll was also conducted by Yougov. The left wingers hate Yougov seeing it as ‘biased’ and cling to Survation polls yet Survation have now given the Tories a lead while last year they once gave Labour a 7 point lead.

What is everyone’s view on this?

I have spoken to a few people, some Brexiteers and other casual remainers who are staying loyal to the Tories but the Brexiteers I know have worried about the Tories being too neutral on Brexit and disliked Sourbry’s ‘Lib Dem’ behaviour. The remainers I know respect the result of the referendum and hope that Britain does well.

I also have a good MP, Connor Burns of Bournemouth West who never seems to cause any trouble and is respected in my area. He has also voted against the past two deals in the HoC and seems to take things seriously so I will continue to give him my vote.

Perhaps if Sourbry is gone it could help keep the Tories a seat if they replace her by someone who voted leave in a leave voting area. Her seat has always been at risk of being snatched by Labour!

    • Fedup2 says:

I care less as the primary aim is to get out of the ReichEU , deal with any disruption and then move on to trying to get the Conservative Party or similar Right Wing outfit delivering smaller cheaper government – such as eliminating tax subsidised broadcasting , ending overseas aid as a GDP policy and concentrating the NHS on basic stuff such as elderly care and sticking to health support and not ‘ lifestyle ‘ nonsense .

The gang of 11 or whatever would have voted remain any way so no loss and no effect .

Anyone who stood on brexit manifestos and voted for the sell out next time should be deselected . In any party .

      • Annunaki says:

but waht would happen to the romaIn beegeeshue sellers thet bully the nsaty white homeless

      • smoogie7 says:

Fair reply. I think that after we have left the EU the focus should be on having a look at a few other areas as you mentioned. A certain broadcaster should certainly no longer receive it’s tax subsidies and perhaps removing that embarrassment would help towards a vote win!

In other words Mogg could win an election on that alone lol

    • JimS says:

Weren’t all those new women MPs going to bring in a gentler form of politics? Contrast Soubry with the ever polite JRM, whom she loathes!

There is something deeply wrong with our politics and media when the two main parties stand on Brexit tickets yet so many of our MPs and media outlets have continued to fight against it and those that do push for Brexit are described as ‘extremists’.

      • smoogie7 says:

There have always been some very good females but also some awful ones. Labour win the prize for the worst females and then there is the SNP leader…

As for the BBC, lets hope that this is their last year. The public have seen through them so it is time for them to close down.

I would like to see Kuenssberg working in a Subway soon. Oh wait that is an American brand so she will have to work in Weatherspoons instead unless she cannot handle working for a company owned by a Brexiteer!

    • imaynotalwaysloveyou says:

Fair play for your obvious loyalty to the Conservatives.

Alas, apart from a very small minority of MPs who’d be better off in the fringe parties (aka actually conservative) I suspect many posters on here find it hard to distinguish them from Labour,Lib Dem or the loony Greens.

Go by their deeds, not their words. The results are damning. Ever more leftwards, ever more in thrall to big global corporations, and some might say ever eager to sell us all out to an alien and backward religion.

There’s nothing ‘conservative’ about them any more, and if they get a serious bloody nose at the next general election it’s of their own making.

  12. Guest Who says:

The outcome is inevitable, but at least someone has asked even if the BBC never answers.

Might run this one by my MP as the BBC being uniquely funded to uniquely fund terrorists has happened a bit too often on his party’s watch.

  13. s.trubble says:

A prolonged and acute campaign of bias and lies by the bBC in its reporting on Rangers Football club matters , in Scotland, including them banning themselves from attending matches has hit the headlines here.

Their Sports Division run out of Pacific Quay in Glasgow are collectively known as ” The Haters”

There now appears to be a growing campaign amongst the support to encourage the cancellation of TV Licences…..

    Interesting times!!

  14. Stevie m says:

For today’s top prize, can anyone tell me how many brexiteers are in the new independent group

    • Guest Who says:

      Oo… oo.. me sir?

As many as often sit across from a BBC panel? For balance?

    • StewGreen says:

@Stevie surely the clue is in the name
The Independent Party must be in favour of the UK being Independent …que, no ?

  15. BRISSLES says:

Cant wait for Andrew Marr on Sunday. His sofa isn’t big enough for 11 bums – and counting. I bet the producers are wetting themselves in who to book first.

  16. Guest Who says:

When the BBC uses the royal ‘we’, it is bound to be fun….

What do we get wrong about female terrorists?

Ans: Don’t tell me, we presume their sex?

  17. Lucy Pevensey says:

    BBC style diversity.

    • Guest Who says:

The BBC tends not to run such galleries where the general public can see them, for obvious reasons.

      • Lefty Wright says:

        Guest Who
Indeed. The general public might begin to ask tricky questions such as “Who left the cage open”?

    • gaxvil says:

Looks very much like, segregation, discrimination and racism to me.

They’re at it again – we’re all supposed to be together as one humanity and yet they point up divisions and differences like daffodils in Spring.

  19. Doublethinker says:

I note in the Telegraph today that there has been a large increase in the number of non EU workers in the UK. This is very worrying and makes me uneasy about Brexit. To my mind if we need to have foreign workers, I would rather have Europeans than non Europeans , leaving aside our cousins in the North America and the Antipodes who surely don’t see much worth coming here for. All leading Brexiteers seem to say they would be happy to take third worlders into our workforce. Well I wouldn’t be. It does make me wonder about Brexit .

    • Kaiser says:

It makes me wonder about the conservatives

      • Doublethinker says:

There isn’t a single MP from any party who would ever express anything other than a fulsome welcome to third worlders. Even if they have doubts they dare not speak them. We are stuffed and can only be rescued by the likes of Salvini or Orban or Le Pen.et al. But time is short.

  20. StewGreen says:

Nasty article in the Times Arts section by @HannahJBetts
She lists about 10 reasons why she as a GenX “hates” the older baby boomer generation ..finishing by saying
    “I hate them for Brexit”

  21. Synchronised says:

Looking at the Beeb website I cant believe how happy the three ladies pictured look seeing as they are soon to be kicked out of their current employment. What a bunch our parliamentarians have become.

  22. StewGreen says:

    Upskirting prosecution
The previous one was a Japanese guy
..This one is an Italian ex olympian

    • Fedup2 says:

      There’s a joke there somewhere … or maybe they’re banned now .

      • JimS says:

The BBC sports journalist sees a tracksuited man walking towards him with a long pole on his shoulders. He walks up to him and says, “Excuse me, but are you a pole vaulter?”
The tracksuited man says, “No, I’m German, but how did you know my name is Walter?”

Sorry but it’s the only Olympics joke I know.

  23. StewGreen says:

And how good is UK security vetting ?
a specialist anti-terrorist police officer at the MoD has just been jailed for having sex with a 14 year old after he met her on kids messaging apps.

… If it was film , he would have been framed, but it seems real.
He’s 38 and pleaded the sex was consensual FFS

  24. Richard Pinder says:

I caught the start of the Jeremy Vine Show, expecting the Labour split to dominate the show. But the only mention was about three Tories joining the group, no mention of Labour.

But the main story was the BBC’s strange narrative about Britain’s long time friendship with Japan coming to an end. The BBC thinks Britain’s friendship with Japan started after the second world war, presumably because Japan was very happy to surrender to Britain after being nuked. No mention about Japans much longer friendship with Germany and why the Japanese could never understand why Britain opposed Germanys attempts to unite Europe and Japans attempts to unite Asia in the Second World War?

I suppose the morons at the BBC think the British prisoners of war rescued from Japanese camps have now died, so these veterans can be ignored. Or maybe Jeremy Vine’s people are ignorant of history, as well as everything else?

  25. Stevie m says:

And for todays 2nd prize, can anyone tell me how many of the independents were about to be de selected
The prize is a night out with chukka amunna

    Another Khanland stabbing
how many is that so far ?
\\ Euston hotel stabbing: 11 arrested on suspicion of murder after man dies in lobby //
No description of victim … so another black on black thing ?

    • Fedup2 says:

I’m guessing the same rate as last year – about 1 ever 4 days getting to the 135 of last year . It’s ok though because the police look a bit like the vibrant population of one of the greatest Islamic cities in the world .

      • StewGreen says:

partNparcel … nothing Khan can do right now
except start new youth clubs..and that will magically cause a drop in stabbing numbers in 5 years time, when someone else is mayor.

    • StewGreen says:

      Birmingham stabbing
The victim : a lovely 16year old Somalian, who’d fled war torn Somalia with his family when he was a toddler.
…The perp 16 year old so details of ethnicity etc. cant be mentioned.

  28. StewGreen says:

Derek Hatton started an internet SEO firm, and in 2008 Mirror Group bought it off him for £5.8m
    …. kind of them
Hatton then used all the money to help the homeless
and didn’t buy a £1.5m villa in Cyprus
    …. I don’t tell the truth sometimes.

  29. StewGreen says:

Court follows N Ireland gay cake ruling
that ‘A business owner cannot be forced to do something against their own religious beliefs.’
An orthodox Jewish nursery school fired a teacher who co-habited
and the appeal court ruled that is OK cos they are just applying their own religious rule. And thst overrules concerns about her beliefs.

…. There is another part to the case ..she alleges sexual discrimination so the case has been sent back to a tribunal on that count.

  30. Emmanuel Goldstein says:

    Politics live.
Camilla Tominey, the girl done well against everybody else (all 5, 6 if you include Robinson) on the show (all remainers of course) hosted by the oh so impartial Robinson.

We all know that every married woman in England has a black (or is it brown tinged) husband because we see it on every advert.
Do you remember when white blokes were on adverts? The ones where the white bloke was always portrayed as a simpleton.
Do you know of any of the modern (pc) adverts where the black (brown tinged) guy is an idiot or is it only whitey who is stupid.

  31. G.W.F. says:

Climate change warning. Harrabin take note

The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulafft, at Bergen, Norway.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

I apologize, I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922. As reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post — 88 years ago!

ps I checked and it is a genuine article published at the time.

In in an internet age why are newspapers still earning a fortune from these statutory legalese adverts for construction projects.
… ultimately often funded by the taxpayer eg HS2 ?
Can the government just add something to the bottom of your tax or pension letters
like “here’s a list of the new projects in your area .. if you want more info go to this webpage and watch the video ‘ ?

  36. jeffD says:

Knew it !! On the main bbc news on Monday, 7 labour MPs defecting wasn’t deemed important enough to be the main headline news, instead concentrating on a potential factory closure in Swindon. So different tonight. Main headlines tonight? 3 Conservatives defecting. The hypocrisy is astounding.

    • Fedup2 says:

Didn’t to the 6pm news tonight but from memory – the Swindon story was 7minutes 30 followed by 6 minutes on the labour defectors .

I’m guessing the Far Left Labour BBC news tonight gave the 3 witches the full 10 minutes …. luckily people don’t watch it no more ….

  41. Scroblene says:

Thoughtful – our good chum here, posted something I’d never thought about before, way back this morning…

“Why do you think that not a single Prime Minister since Major has taken up their entitlement to a peerage? It’s because if they did they would have to disclose their source of income, and they don’t want us knowing!”

Having been absent from these pages for a day or so, as life goes on in another universe…, I’ve been pondering the BBC’s take on all those blokes who have left the ‘labour’ party and the ‘conservative’ party and what they have actually achieved?

I have to accept that the sort of politics most of the HoC piddle around with are really knob-end stupid, but to have to consider a group of – what ten-eleven ‘members’ sticking their noses in things they don’t understand is one thing, but getting near enough £100,000 a year in wages, pensions and perks is another. Looking at the sorry bunch, I cannot believe any of them (except Youmunny, who has a private income), being worth even a minute of interview time for a real job.

What a sad lot they all are! Yeah, form a ‘breakaway’, but while we still fund them to the tune of £2,000 a week, they can be as ridiculous as they want.

I’m glad bulldog-piss-nettle soubry has at least buqqered off, as she is just an idiot, and I haven’t ever known who the others are, except Youmunny, who has a private income of course!

Godalmighty, who landed us all with such pillocks who just have wet dreams about running a whole country, and that’s just the birds!

  42. StewGreen says:

Monday’s Times only devoted small column to the HnH PR
bet the Guardian did much more

  43. Fedup2 says:

George Soros , writing under the pen name of Gina Miller, claims that the new political independent group is now the real opposition to Brexit . Well if that’s the case No Deal Brexit gets closer and the BBC will become even worse .

    • gaxvil says:

      Funny eh ?
They oppose Trump while those oppose Brexit.
Both oppose democracy and a vote, yet swear they are doing the opposite – so weird and not a good example for children.

  44. BRISSLES says:

Just trying to verify some facts.
The Home Office write to MRS Begum informing that her daughter is stripped of nationality. What happened to Dad then ? cant he read ?

Then I read in the Sarah Vine column in today’s Mail, that Shemima Begum’s mum had died of cancer shortly before she left to join Isis. So is this Mrs Begum the 2nd who is referred to as ‘Mum ?

I need to know or I shant sleep tonight.

      Let’s have a peoples by-election.

Is that even relevant? I understood she was having her British citizenship revoked. If she does come back – 10 years in prison.

      • G.W.F. says:

Il analyse ensuite, par ailleurs, ce qu’est l’islamo-gauchisme, qui semble manifeste dans les insultes et les menaces proférées contre le penseur Alain Finkielkraut samedi à Paris.”

    Well yes, far-right Islamists.

  50. Beltane says:

So while Labour enjoy their anti-Semitism issues, Ms Soubry – only out of a job a few hours – tops that old canard and quickly stirs the shite for her ex-boss, effectively accusing her of institutional racism. The ‘Look at Me’ syndrome lives on.
