Midweek Open Thread 13 February 2019

Looks like America is getting too dangerous for staff of the Far Left BBC . I think if Americans had any idea about that BBC reporters say about their President , Head of State and Commander in Chief the reception of BBC would be far less folksy …

      Bottom of the article –

Duncan Brewer, from consultants Oliver Wyman, said there could be an element of Brexit-influenced buying: “After a slow December, retail sales have bounced back after Black Friday in November.

“It appears that shoppers are shopping before Brexit hits, either to stockpile products they worry won’t be available, or in fear of big price increases post-29 March.”

    • gaxvil says:

You have to wonder at the bbc. Their fat salaries, pensions and lifestyles won’t be affected by Brexit. In fact, I’m sure they can use it for bigger, better license hikes ‘…… because of BREXIT’.

Don’t forget Gates and Obama…still failed to halt British democracy even with the likes of Blair, Clegg, Clarke, BofE, Celebrities-a-plenty, Branson, BBC high earner Gary Linker, etc, etc, etc…who probably still hate their parents for bringing them up on a council estate when the only ambition they had was to be seen on Graham Norton with the rest of his lesbian guests who do their worst to help the “corruption of a minor into accepting gay sex” or to win X-Factor, and fulfil their dream of being seen on those wonderful glossy photos on the online version of The Daily Mail, and to be seen getting out of taxis asking the photographer to get a good shot of her and her girlfriend kissing, as they just love to shock their hard working parents whose job it is now to calm granny for the shame she feels, asking her daughter “and she was such a good girl really”

These days todays in-the-money-pop stars only want to gripe, complain, insult, anyone who thinks we should be set apart from that sinking ship AKA The EU. Suddenly these kind of teens are into politics in a big way. They love Momentum, hate two parent families now that they are pregnant and could afford a nanny but choose to bleed the Benefit system as most of my adult hating squatters as that way they can state: I had a terrible child hood, my parents abused me, mocked me, stopped my pocket money just because I used to like scratching the expensive vehicles in our street and throwing eggs at their windows late at night that way by the time the house holders get up the eggs had dried rock hard (that really made me hate old people) Who are they to come to our house and complain?

      Gripe over.

      • NameNotNumber says:

        Hi Up2

See above. This was a BBC ‘What we know’ piece on Assad’s Douma ‘chemical attack’. The BBC made other TV and online reports about the same incident but the one above is a ‘masterpiece’ of inverted commas, posed photographs of ‘gassed’ children, reports from the ‘white hats’, the WHO and its its ‘health cluster partners’ etc.etc. much or at very least most of it now seems to have been manufactured fake news. Personally, I can’t vouch for the truth or otherwise of reports from ‘war zones’ but I didn’t believe this one at the time and I certainly won’t be relying on anything the BBC tells me in the future. There were other news sources available and they were reporting what is now found to be the truth. There’s no honesty in the BBC news departments any more, only agenda and propaganda.

The reason London and the City didn’t see Brexit coming is because life was plenty good for those folk.
It’s the same reason Macron didn’t see the yellow vests as a major issue and Hillary thought Trump was a joke.
They all live in a bubble and deride people who disagree with them as extremists. Problem is the ‘fringe’ is now 40-50% of the population.

    • Fedup2 says:

It’s great that the ReichEU is now fighting a war on a number of fronts .

The Spanish have had enough of importing the third world – as have the Italians . The Hungarians and poles won’t play . The Scandinavians are realising the error of their ways and the French are exporting them to UK knowing that UK is lost .

So we leave on 29 March
      Spain votes 28 April
      ReichEU elections 25 May .

With a bit of luck these 3 events will push the ReichEU into either decline or termination . Don’t get me wrong . I’m not anti Europe – every country has its own interests .

I’m anti the ReichEU which has its own agenda divorced from the people who pay for the corrupt bloated monster …

Jo Coburn has done quite enough replacing of Andrew Neil already.

The now extra handsomely remunerated Carrie Gracie graces our screens oncemore as anchor for the BBC News Channel.

My main complaint is her annoying delivery. Specifically her over-pronunciation coupled with those intermittent, almost whispered, drops in tone – so characteristic of BBC women such as Fiona Bruce. Overall her diction is exaggerated and stilted in its over-practiced artfulness. I would guess she’s been put on a BBC in-house news presention crash course.

    • Roland Deschain says:

      From the article:

“The study found black Caribbean pupils were twice as likely to be identified as having social, emotional and mental health needs as white British pupils.
The Oxford University team could not explain the “substantial over-representation” of this group.
It urged schools to check if discipline policies caused a systematic bias.
Previous research has looked towards cultural differences, teacher racism and ineffective classroom management as part of the answer.”

It’s got to be racism, hasn’t it? It never seems to occur that these pupils might have some predisposition towards it, and it would be heretical even to look.

  11. Deborah says:

Woman’s Hour on Friday morning. Jenny Murray interviewing two female barristers – at least one of them – naturally was black. I listened to the radio – so it had to be because it was relevant that the barrister had to tell us her colour. To me, colour should be irrelevant – but not the BBC.
There was talk about how ‘women supported women’ in the Law. Could you imagine if a man had been so unwise as to suggest that ‘men support men’?
At the end of the interview Jenny asked what could be done to help women barristers. An example was given of a female barrister breastfeeding her new baby during a trial. Well I can just imagine that her mind was fully on the case. But both women being interviewed agreed that the courts should be more accommodating of mothers in the timing of trials eg finishing early so the barristers could collect their children from school, anticipating the time when court is sitting for a trail so they can arrange child care etc. So these highly paid young women want the courts to finish early so they can get their children from school. Not sure how far away from the courts the schools are – but court houses are expensive to run, heating, lighting, the Clerks, etc and these women want part time courts to enable them to fetch children from school? Also mentioned were cases where the date of the case is within limits, flexible, so that presumably they are slotted in if another case finishes early? They want those stopped too because it is inconvenient for them. All in all, like the NHS, they want the criminal justice system arranged to their convenience – and never mind the cost.

It makes me wonder if the media are laughing at us behind the scenes. Perhaps it’s a game to see how far they can push us into welcoming our own demise.

    • Navets says:

What has happened to this country? Lord Haw-Haw was hanged for treason yet here we are now being subjected, on MSM, to a discussion about whether or not a treacherous scumbag should be allowed back into the UK. This matter should not be up for discussion at all.

‘What exactly we could do with her once she is back is an open question. It would be a huge challenge to rehabilitate her. But I am not convinced that the difficulties outweigh our duty to her as a British citizen. On balance, I say let her come home.’

Not BBC I realise but auntie will disagree with any pro-life march any day of the week. And we will always hear about it. BBC misses nothing that’s anti-Jewish in any way.

  23. pugnazious says:

Got to despair at the BBC and its eagerness to appease those who want to destroy all they apparently hold dear. Disappointing but not unexpected to hear a BBC journalist ask the father of one of the Jihadi brides if he had a ‘message for the government’…of course he did…let them all come back to Britain. The next question…do you have a message for the police?…of course he did….don’t arrest them, don’t charge them.

Asking if this man had a ‘message’ for the government and police suggests a journalist with a mindset that thinks the girls shouldn’t be held accountable for their actions…it indicates he thinks police and government are on the wrong track in looking to condemn these women and need to be reminded of the right course of action.
The BBC journo didn’t remind us that the father was himself a jihadi and extremist who has a history of denying any responsibility for his daughter’s ‘radicalisation’ and who blamed the police for her disappearance….and of course another clue that ‘radicalisation’ might not be due to online surfing but comes from a lot closer to home…..

  24. StewGreen says:

You know that a few days ago left wing thinktank IPPR produced a BS climate report ..full of basic errors
but the the BBC trumpeted it anyway
and they had to stealth edit their page

Then on Question time a new panelist was a young Corbyn associate Grace Blakeley ..first described a “economist”..then changed to “economic commentator”
…Well guess where she works ??

  25. pugnazious says:

Solution to where to send Jihadi brides etc…Saudi Arabia…not only will their brand of fundamentalist Islam find a like-minded resting place it will actually transport them to a State that has done so much to support them and their cause.

The Saudis have spent billions in Britain buying up politicians, the Media and Academia, buying power and influence and using it to spread Islam across British institutions and society, in effect Islamising Britain bit by bit as non-Muslims are forced to curb their own behaviour so as not to ‘offend’ a Muslim or appeasing them by giving them a special status and privileges concerning their religion and freedom to observe it. They have of course been funding mosques and Islamic ‘educational’ institutions which pump out pro-Islamic propaganda, not just spreading the message amongst believers but trying to convert non-Muslims as well…..

‘Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Islam’s Most Eloquent Apostate

The West’s obsession with ‘terror’ has been a mistake, she argues. Dawa, the ideology behind it, is a broader threat.

Ms. Hirsi Ali—now a research fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, where I also work—is urging the West to look at Islam with new eyes. She says it must be viewed “not just as a religion, but also as a political ideology.” To regard Islam merely as a faith, “as we would Christianity or Buddhism, is to run the risk of ignoring dawa, the activities carried out by Islamists to keep Muslims energized by a campaign to impose Shariah law on all societies—including countries of the West.”

Dawa, Ms. Hirsi Ali explains, is “conducted right under our noses in Europe, and in America. It aims to convert non-Muslims to political Islam and also to push existing Muslims in a more extreme direction.” The ultimate goal is “to destroy the political institutions of a free society and replace them with Shariah.” It is a “never-ending process,” she says, and then checks herself: “It ends when an Islamic utopia is achieved. Shariah everywhere!”

Make no mistake they intend to islamise the West.

Will the BBC wake up before it is too late or will we have to make Andrew Neil Prime MInister?

    • Banania says:

“…will we have to make Andrew Neil Prime MInister?”
I apologize if I have misunderstood you, but Neil cannot be relied upon on the subject of Islam.

UK and USA sign agreement to continue existing arrangements for goods trade between the two nations

Mutual Recognition Agreement between US and UK signed yesterday

Sometimes it gets a little tiring, doing the BBC job’s for them. This is especially true when they get a statutory licence fee, and we have to rely on voluntary contributions.

We hope that readers are as pleased as we are with the news above. It’s not a free trade deal (the Government still insists it can’t negotiate one, even though we have repeatedly published proof that it can), but it’s the clearest demonstration yet that the US is fully behind a post-Brexit Britain.

  27. pugnazious says:

    Laugh/cry time.

Frank Gardner told us that #duetobrexit we are all in danger as the borders will be completely open and we won’t know who is coming or going as the EU will refuse to share security data with us. Well boo hoo.

Gardner forgets that it is British intelligence that provides the bulk and best data to the EU…so maybe reverse that conjecture…it is the EU that will suffer. Also we will have a border and checks, such as they are….not beyond the wit of man to ask a passenger for his documents and to check them…isn’t that the idea of border control?. Against BBC nature but never mind. Want to come here prove who you are.

Gardner of course fails to remind us that it was the German’s who unilaterally, without asking any other country, opened up Europe’s borders and invited in the world’s Muslim population…of the millions that turned up, most without documents, how many are jihadis? The BBC of course denied that any JIhadis would be amongst the young, military aged males that swarmed into Europe…and of course were proven wrong at great cost to many lives…not to mention the general crime that came with them and left women unsafe to travel the streets in their own countries.

The BBC can’t complain about the threat of Islamic terrorism due to to some spurious, over-exaggerated threat to data sharing when they.campaign relentlessly and loudly to throw open the borders to absolutely everyone and anyone.

Just wonder how the US and Australians manage without the wonderful services of the EU.

    • Fedup2 says:

Don’t waste 45 mins listening to it, it’s utter, utter drivel and is likely to make you vomit.

‘The Graham Norton Show, which I love as well, it’s an entertainment programme, but you’re dealing with people that don’t want to be featured….on Graham Norton, even though it’s a very enjoyable show, it is effectively a Hollywood celebrity coming in and doing something they want to do, talk about their latest film. ‘

‘When I used to work at Channel 4 News or at Newsnight, you’d phone up and say, “Do you want to come on the programme?” People would think about it. Now, when you’re at Panorama, you phone and say, “We’re making a Panorama about you,” people react rather differently, I think it’d be fair to say! ‘

She must be talking about Tommy Robinson! His reaction…make his own undercover film exposing and holding to account the BBC.

      • Eighthdimension says:

Supposedly the next clip from Tommy will show John Sweeney shouting homophobic abuse. Given the Beebs record of championing LGBQBZT rights, it will be interesting to see how far they go to ignore it all and bury their heads in the sand.

Not sure Anthony Lloyd and his photographer did Shamima Begum any favours, whatsoever, in photographing her in a full chador – and a black one at that – and then allowing newspapers to plaster the photo on newspaper front pages.

  30. pugnazious says:

All these shoolchildren, teenage climate protestors, some even younger, who have been recruited as part of a climate change campaign by the usual green fanatics…are these school children victims of grooming by extremists, did they not know their own minds, are they too young to understand what they are doing?

Either way the BBC is caught here….if not ‘groomed’ and radicalised by climate change fanatics, if they do know their own minds and understand what they are doing then how can the BBC use that same narrative of ‘victims’ in relation to the jihadi brides? They went to Syria of their own accord in the full knowledge of what awaits them despite their youthful age.

Conversely if they accept the Jihadi brides were ‘victims’ then how can they not apply the same criteria to these young climate change protestors who have been ‘groomed’ and thus are being exploited and misled by online climate extremist and groomers? Should we be trying to deradicalise them and setting them free?

Odd how kids as young as 12 are being interviewed on the BBC about a highly complex scientific issue[and where’s that famous BBC balance which says only ‘experts’ can comment on climate change? 12 year olds but not Lord Lawson….lol!] that involves politics and economics as well as not so obvious vested interests making the issues and motivations very convoluted, opaque and difficult to navigate….and yet the BBC is happy to take the advice of 12 year olds on the campaign trail as if they knew what they were talking about rather than this just being them regurgitating what their parents have told them or what they have been ‘groomed’ to say by siren voices on the internet.

Kind of think the BBC would turn a blind eye to schoolchildren being groomed by green fanatics and not treat them as ‘victims’ whilst doing its best to ensure Muslim girls are counted as ‘victims’ and are not, definitely not, treated as fanatics following the divine guidance from their Islamic texts.

Sides splitting now….remember the hate attack by Trump supporters? No? Coz it may never have happened…except in a BBC journo’s dirty little anti-Trump mindset….

‘Jussie Smollett: Empire star victim of suspected hate crime in Chicago’

‘Jussie Smollett speaks about ‘racist and homophobic’ attack for first time’

    Oh…hang on…newsflash….from the Mail….

‘Two Nigerian actor brothers detained over Jussie Smollett attack, as it’s revealed they are FRIENDS with the Empire star amid claims the assault was staged to save his career

The two Nigerian brothers being questioned over the Jussie Smollett attack are actors Abimbola ‘Abel’ and Olabinjo ‘Ola’ Osundairo, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

The pair were picked up by police at Chicago O’Hare Airport on Wednesday as they arrived back in America after visiting family in Nigeria to be questioned over the January 29 attack involving the star.

Family say they went to Africa on January 29, hours after the Smollett attack. Ola appeared on Empire in 2015 and both brothers have had minor roles on Chicago PD.

Smollett follows their joint Instagram account and, according to their lawyer, sometimes goes to the gym with them.
On Thursday night, the star was accused by anonymous police sources cited by local networks of staging the attack.

The sources accused Smollett of orchestrating the hoax because he was being written out of the show and wanted to drum up publicity to save his role – a claim that has been strenuously denied by the show and uncorroborated by the police department.

In his reports to police, Smollett says he was attacked by two assailants whose facial features he could not make out but that it was a racist, homophobic ambush during which they called him ‘Empire f****t n****r’ and shouted: ‘This is MAGA country!’

The brothers’ names are also included on a list of evidence that was left at their home after Chicago PD officers ransacked it on Thursday and the pair are listed in public records as the tenants of that house.

They have not been charged and are their lawyer insists they are not the people who attacked Jussie, revealing that the three are friends who sometimes work out together.

Police on Friday however said they were now being treated as ‘potential suspects’ instead of ‘persons of interest’. ‘

Oh hang on…the BBC fights back…..

‘Jussie Smollett: ‘No evidence’ Empire actor attack was staged

Chicago Police have dismissed reports that an attack on Empire actor Jussie Smollett was a hoax.

The US TV star needed hospital treatment last month after a suspected racist and homophobic attack.

Local media reports about the attack being staged are “unconfirmed”, Chicago police’s chief communications officer said. “We have no evidence to support their reporting.”

Two people who were in the area at the time of the attack are being questioned by police, but they are not yet considered suspects. ‘

No photos of suspects nor any information about them…and the BBC says they are not ‘suspects’ whilst the Mail says they now are…as does CBS…‘ Chicago police for the first time have called two men questioned in connection to the Jussie Smollett case “potential suspects,”’…and charges may be made later today.

From CBS….how does the BBC miss all this?….

‘Schmidt said police detained her clients Wednesday evening at Customs at O’Hare. The two men were returning from a trip to Nigeria when officers raided their family’s home on the North Side.

Pictures from the raid show the front door busted off its frame, items thrown across the living room, bedroom doors damaged and clothes tossed everywhere.

Police left behind an inventory list. Some of the items seized include a black face mask hat, an Empire script, phone, receipts, a red hat and bleach.’

Does look like the BBC is doing its best to downplay and cover this up as long as possible. Whatever the truth the BBC doesn’t seem interested in exploring and reporting all possibilities.

      • pugnazious says:

Nah….they must be those ‘Black Klansmen’ the BBC loves to chuckle about …despite the police officer going to the meetings actually being white…the black officer just spoke down the phone…so not such a good story after all.

‘BlacKkKlansman: The black man who took on the Klan’

That picture is surely a scene from “The Last of the Summer Wine”.

  36. pugnazious says:

The more you hear Andrea Leadsom talk the more you think how much better a Prime Minister she would have been than May.

Of course the BBC et al moved to kill off her bid when she mentioned her children…she is of course a Leave supporter and they were looking for any excuse to stop her.

‘There was evidence that she felt hounded out of the race. Tim Loughton MP, her campaign manager, complained of an “onslaught of often very personal attacks from colleagues and journalists” and “spin and underhand tactics against decent people”.

Leadsom’s withdrawal came a day after she admitted a row over her apparent claim that she would be a better prime minister than May because she was a mother had left her feeling “under attack, under enormous pressure … It has been shattering.”’

Perhaps even Remain voters might agree that Leadsom would have been a good choice who would have led us into negotiations with a united parliament [as much as that is ever possible] behind a single message to the EU and enabled things to move on rapidly giving more certainty to everyone instead of the complete chaos and disorder we have now with everyone voting against everything in order to press their own vested interests..

Maybe the BBC should stop interfering in politics and stick to reporting. It does enormous damage to our country in so many ways.

    • Fedup2 says:

Leadsom hasn’t got any principles which I a job requirement for recent PMs so she should make a good candidate …

It’s 6 pm and time for a game of BBC 1 6 pm news ‘Compare and Contrast’

The Begum extremist (age 19) is yet again prioritised, and the clear editorial line is that we should show some humanity as she was ‘young and vulnerable’ and thus her radical views can be in some way be excused and thus dismissed.
The BBC then shows a voxpop of children aged 9,11, and 14, out on climate change demos, strongly implying they are mature enough to be listened to, and certainly not ‘young and vulnerable’.
The fact they should be at school appears not to have been considered

    • popeye says:

Re the kids and Climate Change, did you notice the lack of BAMEs? There couldn’t have been any there because you know how the Beeb searches them out and puts them front and centre. I wonder why they’re not interested in saving the planet.

Hilarious….just listening to 5 Live and they’ve found a mixed race Asian who looks white…..and he complains about being thought of as white by both whites and other non-whites…he does of course recognise his ‘white privilege’ but curiously wants people to acknowledge his Indian heritage and think of him as brown.

    Can’t win.

    • Fedup2 says:

Not having TV news today I guess that the children protesting were doing so using the new fashion of nudeness .
Otherwise who notices any more .

I hasten to add . I have no wish to see children nood. And apparently I was one too .

    • Banania says:

“Can’t win.” It sounds more like “can’t lose”.

  43. Fedup2 says:

Hey – whatabout that ? The head of the MI6 says that the return of ISIS terrorists is a threat to the security of Blighty .

I wonder if that means we ll be hearing traffic reports of delays in Tower Hamlets caused by recent drone strikes on terrorist targets …

“”…..we didn’t have journalists attacked at political events, even a few years ago””.

The above were the first words. I couldn’t stomach more bias.

    • Fedup2 says:

Absolutely agree – the amazing thing is the daily horror the BBC paints is not enough for good things to be happening for UK .

Imagine if the BBC was fair and objective . And so many people are realising what it has become . Which is a shame because when I was growing up it was worth something

    • Englands Dreaming says:

Very little reporting on EU problems, but so much bad news is across the channel:

      Yellow Vests continuing
Spain calling early general election as Catalan problem not gone away
France recalls its ambassador from Italy, this hasnt happened since WWII
      German economy flat-lining

Meanwhile we get served a daily diet of project fear about the how we will plunge into the Dark Ages unless we stay on board this sinking ship .
