Start the Year Open Thread 7th January 2019

The Far Left BBC continues Project Fear in the run up to exiting the EU. The Westminster Bubble will be in full panic mode as we edge nearer to 29 March . In the mean time the BBC continues to very selectively report events according to its political stance as opposed to its duty to inform the people who pay for it.

Something stinks about the Anna Soubry incident.
This video suggests that an under cover cop was up to no good. What was put into the pocket of Soubry’s security man?

      @JGoddard230616 is still active
      see that memorable date

He’s been punished by having all his other social media accounts shut down
.. but not been convicted of anything

      \\ @lizziedearden tweeted
Statement from Facebook: “We have removed James Goddard’s Facebook pages and groups for violating our policies on hate speech.
We will not tolerate hate speech on Facebook which creates an environment of intimidation and which may provoke real-world violence.”

Interesting : comments started at 4pm Monday and were turned off 4pm Tuesday
Is that normal only 24 hours of comments ..and pre-moderated ?
It’s as a government officer comes into Guido office to write and run posts
cos othe Guido posts are normal
I note how on the trash post about the Ozzie PM, someone has sneaked in Allo Allo photo, and mods didn’t notice that it’s actually Soubry’s face photoshopped onto a Nazi body

      OK ended after 47 mins
The famous antifa Mike Stukberry joined the live-chat towards the end.. accused Raheem about being in it for the money and said “MP Jo Cox was murdered just around the corner”
They called him out and said you can’t compare a political speaker like James to a murderer who had both sought mental health help and was interested in Neo Nazi stuff

It’s nice to see that charming chap, the Speaker of the House, Mr John Brecow, giving us his thoughts on the Soubry squabble. Like Sir Gallahad he’s charged to the defence of this vulnerable lady.
He’s made it plain that “this sort of bullying and harassment outside the House has to stop.” Good point, no one will disagree.
However, I notice that he didn’t mention the absolutely appalling bullying and harassment that goes on inside the House…of which he has been accused numerous times. Bellowing at subordinates. Referring to female colleagues as “stupid women.” It’s a long and odious list.
    Nasty little runt.

MPs have inflicted another Brexit defeat on the government in Parliament by backing measures designed to thwart preparations for a no-deal exit.
They backed an amendment to the Finance Bill, which would limit spending on no-deal preparations
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-46803112

How is it a defeat? as the government don’t want a no deal they want May’s crappy deal.
    Purposely:
Waste money on a Ramsgate firm with no ships
organise an pathetic 80 truck rally.

I’m new to this site which is supposed to be about the BBC but I feel the need to make my first post about SKY. I hope this is permissible – I see that quite a few posts go off-message so I hope that I won’t face an immediate ban or a jihad. In my defence, there seems to be little difference between the two; they are equally bad.

Switched the TV on mid-morning to catch up on the news whilst doing something else. It happened to be already tuned to SKY which was in Brixham as part of its Brexit coverage. Apparently Brixham voted to leave (63% from memory) and fishing is, of course, important to the town. The execrable SKY had a line up of three people – I think you know what is coming next:

    1. A woman who did not appear to be local, who was involved in mussel fishing, or something along those lines. Remainer.

    2. A local farmer who also ran a farm shop. Leaver.

    3. Wait for it – a middle aged TEFL teacher. Remainer. The only TEFL teachers I’ve met have been gap year types who want to b**ger off to Thailand after the 5 week (!) course. It’s not a great career, as teaching goes. I could be ruder, but I won’t.

So, in a fishing town like Brixham, SKY could not find a regular local fisherman, and leavers were outnumbered 2:1. The farmer was the only one who made any sense but the TEFL teacher was allowed to have the last word on the implications of importing more food from outside the EU. He appeared to be in favour of protectionism. The “mussel woman” complained that, as a result of the fall in the £ after the referendum, the purchase of a boat from New Zealand (why not the EU?) cost her business several hundred thousand pounds more. I’m pretty sure that’s what she said. Must have been a big boat.

Unbelievable bias, but sadly typical of SKY and the BBC.
