Not really the best day for bbc agenda in the comments.

And the collection of intense weasels around that table…

    • NameNotNumber says:

The BBC describe Jolie as an ‘actress’, for God’s sake. They obviously don’t believe in their own garbage so why should I?

‘Hear the full 20 minute interview with Hollywood actress and UN refugee envoy Angelina Jolie. She speaks about US politics, social media, sexual violence and the global refugee crisis’

  2. BRISSLES says:

Er, why ?? (is she there)

  3. BRISSLES says:

Amazing how 70 odd years ago we managed to stop Hitler and his war machine from capturing these shores, AND YET, how different things might have been IF ONLY he had used a few rowing boats to ferry his men across the Channel in the dead of night !

It appears to be working well now with no resistance. We’re just throwing the keys away and letting the whole f…….g world in. Where’s John Mills, Jack Hawkins and Dirk Bogarde when we need ’em !!!!

  4. Foscari says:

Is it about time that BBC TV became a complete women’s TV
channel? It wouldn’t take much. At least 75% of the news
    presenters, reporters, are already women.
Just get rid of Gary Lineker on Match of the Day. They can
keep the name , but instead make it Women’s football, netball
or any other women’s sport that no other media outlet is
interested in . So it wont cost the BBC two bob.
On the Daily Politics show Jo Coburn can just have women on
the panel. It’s already starting to happen.
Yes BIG BROTHER at the Diversity and Positive discrimination dept.
We all know that it is YOU that really runs the BBC now. BE BRAVE,
and do what you have always wanted to do get rid of ALL of
the men. Well at least the middle aged or older indigenous ones.

    • G says:

      What about the foreigners?

      • fakenewswatcher says:

G – foreigners are good for you. Haven’t you been watching the ‘ABC murders’ on the beeb? If you look closely you will detect the undercurrent of ‘nasty locals’, who are being horrible to foreigners. Good old Hercules Poirot (of whom I am a fan) is subjected to abuse by these nasties as well.
Look closely: there are posters of a fascist(?) lightning ‘Flash symbol’ all over walls and buildings, and lotsa people are wearing little lightening flash lapel badges. Take two of those together and you have the SS symbol.
This being a beeb production, it would not surprise me to find out that these are all followers of Oswald Moseley and associated with the ‘Far Right’. And, hey presto, we have jumped to the present.
Of course, all of this could just be in my imagination. But would you put a little political propaganda, safely tucked in under the narrative of the excellent Agatha Christie, past the producers at the beeb?
Is the message that xenophobia abounds, did then and -Brexiteers- does now?

        • Jeff says:

It’s certainly not your imagination! I was beginning to enjoy this little mini series, it’s been well made and lavishly produced, but the bloody propaganda keeps bludgeoning me.
I’m sitting there with my glass of Christmas cheer, lapping up a 1930’s piece of Agatha Christie nonsense, when suddenly I’m assaulted by nasty indigenous types hurling abuse and spitting at Hercule Poirot. This never happened to David Suchet!
These ignorant brutes even used the phrase “Why didn’t you stay and fight in your own country” a clear reference to the critisism of the hundreds of thousands of men pouring into Europe these days. It’s about as subtle as a kick in the knackers…and nearly as painful.
There’s also Hercule’s fascist sympathising neighbour who received some of his mail by mistake. What was the point of her wearing a fascist symbol other than another hammer blow of PC propaganda?
Dear God, why can’t they just turn out a well made piece of Yuletide entertainment without always having to wedge in crude political messages?
I’m half expecting Poirot to start lecturing us about the benefits of a united Europe.
I’ve ruined it for you now…

Guest, LOL x 5 but probably a bit too deep for many unless they can remember the start of The Troubles in the 1960s.

  8. StewGreen says:

Darn, I should be paying more attention to the Brian of London Twitter account
.. and the TR Facebook page
It tells us Piers Morgan’s tweet about the drone couple was disgraceful. ..screenshot
and then he followed that by a not real apology
: ‘I, like most in the media today, owe these two an apology’
and later deleted the initial tweet.
(TR website was suddenly shut down before Christmas without explanation from GoDaddy )

Brian was quick to sceptical about the Gatwick drones lack of video , given that he can get shots from his apartment.
\\ I don’t believe there was drone activity.
I don’t believe all those press camped out around Gatwick for 2 days would have failed to film something. I just don’t believe officials and press any more. //

  9. StewGreen says:

Gatwick Drones ..brand new vid just uploaded by @Droning_On
    with LIVE discussion NOW

    • StewGreen says:

More on drones : The NYT is the only paper that is more pragmatic
\\ A half-hour after the initial sighting, six people — including five police officers — reported seeing a drone with white and red lights within 15 minutes of one another, the Sussex police said in its statement on Monday. //
From what I saw on Twitter that was explained as the lights of the police helicopter , that was looking for the drone.
Drones don’t normally have lights like that and anyone being malicious would have deactivated their drones lights

  10. Terminal Moraine says:

Getting a plug on the home page is the story of a Muslim family who looks after a church. “St Matthew’s Church is in a rural area of Pakistan where there are hardly any Christians.”

Other news agencies might want to ask why Christians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa make up just 0.21% in a province of 22m with a majority of Sunni muslims. But no problem for the BBC, here’s a clip of a nice man to soothe those furrowed brows. He’s the only person who still knows how to ring the bell, they tell us. So that’s all good then.

Proving once again not only is their output mostly propaganda for 6 yr olds, but they really are the masters when it comes to unjoining the dots.

Note the word campaign in the URL
    webstory dated Dec 24

    • StewGreen says:

Almost every other post post on that R4 Facebook page is SJW evangelising
eg there is a new post about the Illegal who saved the boy on the balcony in France
No media mention the name of the father, but some do mention the mother was in her homeland of Reunion
So I wonder if that family itself were illegals.

      • LastChanceSaloon says:

        Ads by Google
        Download Photo Clip Now
Remove unwanted people & change the photo background perfectly in a flash! [BBC daily practise]
        Download it now

Is my understanding that the BBC is not allowed to advertise incorrect?
Is the advertising ban just on programmes?
Where is the money raised by these adverts going?
Some of these “Ads” are not advertisements but border on political propaganda.
We know that the BBC does billions of £££ left wing propaganda annually.
But they at least have to pretend to be impartial.
So why is paid propaganda permitted?
The last two years have shown why the Conservative Party took no action to emasculate the BBC. They are left wing “Tories”.

        • StewGreen says:

@LastChanceSaloon What ? ah adverts on the BBC Facebook pages
          .. Which I don’t see cos I have the ad-blocker on.

And that fact BBC have a vast network of Facebook pages, which have advertising down the side
You’d think that FB would take all the money
but the BBC could argue that since it provides so much prime content it should get a cut.
+ Apparently BBC videos on Facebook can have ads, so that is like commercial TV
Wonder if there is there a secret deal or something ?
(Jeez just spotted that @JunkkMale was commenting on this in 2012)

BTW I’ve worked with internet a 23 years , internet advertising should basically cost nothing, cos its very ineffective
.. have you ever bought anything off an internet ad ?

  14. Beeb Brother says:

Front and centre of their website is a gushing review of grime (crime is cool) artist Stormzy. He calls out Theresa May:

“We should burn your house down.”

How is this not hate speech? Rather than merely expressing hatred of a certain group this is directly inciting criminality – more serious than nebulous ‘hate speech’ and probably not even protected under the First Amendment.

Why on Earth is May to blame? It was a tragedy. Is the narrative that conservatives should share all their money out so nobody has to live in cheap accommodation? Maybe if Stormzy and his ilk worked hard at school rather than glamourising crime more might lift themselves from poverty. When he starts rapping about quadratic equations rather than violence I might respect his opinions more.

    • StewGreen says:

One of the Radio 4/5 female presenter’s Twitter profile contains the phrase
“and mother in law to Stormzy”
      No shes changed it to
      “@ShelaghFogarty Stormzy’s G. Broadcaster”
.So the insular medialand are promoting their own clique

    • Guest Who says:

To be ‘investigated’ by a ‘Gold Commander’.

No lilies were gilded in the making of this pathetic response.

But something may have been polished.

      • theisland says:

As yet, there have been no definitive statements from the British government on the ultimate fate of the groups of boat migrants — at least one of which sauntered into town and presented itself at a local police station to claim asylum shortly after landfall — but, despite France and Belgium being relatively safe and prosperous EU member-states, sending illegal migrants back across the Channel is rare.

This is a consequence of EU regulations which mandate that members typically cannot just send illegal arrivals back to the last safe country they came from, but must instead deport them to the very first EU member-state they entered.

If this cannot be determined, due to lack of a digital or physical paper trail and the migrants declining to assist in their own expulsion, receiving countries are usually stuck with them.

        Quelle surprise!

The EU want us as a dumping ground; our pathetic so-called government will oblige.

    • G.W.F. says:

He is probably more concerned about a possible backlash against his kind

  16. G.W.F. says:

Church in Austria attacked, monks assaulted by ‘foreign men’.
    Terror ruled out.
    Not on BBC.
Soon the story will be re-told. Turns out it is local teenagers wearing their Christmas Star Wars outfits which scared people. No one will remember it differently

  17. BRISSLES says:

    Whisky Galore this aint !

The reporting is pathetic, using words like, “cold, hungry, huddled together”. God on a bike, they’re all now in Asylum / Migrant Centres, where in a few weeks they’ll be allowed out – 220 since November have arrived. It was a trickle at first in 2015 to Europe, how long before it becomes a flood here. If 20 plus boats decide to set sail across the Channel or North Sea all at once, the ONE patrol boat has no chance in stopping any of them dumping their cargo on remote beaches.

  18. G.W.F. says:

The peoples pregnant animal loving princess joins her hubby in a Boxing Day bird shoot. Shame the lefties cannot criticise her ‘cos she is ethnically mixed.

    • BRISSLES says:

Apparently there’s been a rethink on the ‘fall out’ between the pair of Duchess’, its now between Harry and Wills – the latter believing Harry wed in haste (true) and considers Meghan not ‘royal’ material …. – only time will tell, but I err on the side on him being right !

      • Up2snuff says:

I think the print media have been odious and treated them all abominably, esp. MM & Prince Harry.

  19. Synchronised says:

Not a mention on beeb site of the French failing to meet EU budget rules. RT have reported it but as it doesn’t suit our state broadcaster’s mantra not a word. Lying by omission yet again. Makes you wonder what sweetner the Italians were presented with a couple of weeks ago knowing that this news was around the corner.

  20. vlad says:

Another day, another terror attack in a muslim country, though the two are in no way connected, of course.

This time it’s Egypt. Tragic for the mainly Vietnamese tourist victims, but when will the world stop visiting all those ghastly muslim countries, seal their borders and just let them get on with massacring each other to extermination?

    It’s what they do.

  21. Halifax says:

    On BBC
Story No 1 ….pity Iranian migrants (having paid thousands) to get across channel

Story No 3…..migrants kill 5 in Leicester

    No agenda

    • StewGreen says:

      Leicester no agenda ?
#1 Firstly BBC seem reluctant to show us the perps
The webstory & Twitter links to it contain no photo of them
The only photo is 1″ high on BBCnews homepage

#2 Has that skintone been lightened cos the Mail court sketch seems darker ?

  22. vlad says:

And here’s another little gem from the religion of God’s final revelation to mankind:

“German female IS recruit ‘let slave child die of thirst’ in Iraq”

“A female Islamic State group member accused of letting a five-year-old girl die of thirst in scorching sunlight is facing war crimes charges in Germany.”

    Ah, bless.

  23. StewGreen says:

Oh that David Walliams is a beeboid
His 2017 kids drama : Ratburger is on Pick now
at switch on the little character walks into a pub
The landlord is a rough looking type who points at a sign that says
    “No Children ”
    .. No Europeans !”
…Oh hahha, no stereotyping,no hateyness there from Walliams

  24. Tabs says:

Just saw the news headlines read out on the BBC News channel at 19:15…

    1. Savid Javid says migrants crossing the Channel is a major incident.
    2. Egypt bus bomb kills 2.
    3. Three men found guilt of murder in Leicester house blast.

Now what could be the common theme with all those headlines….hmmmm…. it begins with “M” but I don’t think the BBC will say it!

  25. Fedup2 says:

Sir Edward Leigh – a Tory brexiter – surprisingly suppprted the outgoing PM and her sell out. Today Quentin Letts reports he has been appointed a Privy Councillor … no connection ..obviously .
The coming New Year Dishonours list will be full of such bribery .

    And Dame Anna Soubry …

  26. Celtic_Mist says:

Compare these two reports with different headlines:

I don’t necessarily believe either of them, but the VOA one seems clearer. The BBC effort contains all the facts, but is trying harder to spin them.

  27. Despairada says:

Perhaps one or more of you can fill in the lack of detail here. Him indoors likes the Radio on as background most of the time, but my ears prick up when something interesting or appalling, or both, is going on. My excuse is I am usually making the dinner then. We usually live on sandwiches but, hey, it’s Christmas. Anyway . . . . .

Aired around 5-6pm today, one of a series of cameos about a (non religious) jewish man wondering whether to apply for German citizenship as he has a right to because of his ancestry, some of his antecedants having been killed by the Nazis.

The program follows him as he interviews people in Germany and Poland. One day he had a conversation with an AfD member whose contribution was tut tutted away.

I get that he wants to decide whether to do this before Brexit/Armageddon but I never heard any rationale for why he as a Jew thinks he might be safer in Germany than Britain given the rise in anti-semitism stated in the program.

The BBC bloke following him around seemed to steer the thrust of the arguments was to do with the rise of the ‘far right’.

Am I wrong in thinking that islam is the main thing that Jews should be worrying about these days?

    • Up2snuff says:

No, Despairada, you are not wrong. The BBC did actually carry a report about one Jewish group (an Orthodox one) who moved to Canvey Island in Essex this year because of anti-Semitic attacks. IIRC, they moved from London and I very much doubt that it was the so-called ‘Far Right’ who were attacking them in London.

    • StewGreen says:

That item on R4 PM was Adrian Goldberg
      .. I mentioned part 1 last night

      • StewGreen says:

Goldberg just repeated the item tonight on his 5Live show
and promised us part 2 on Saturday night

  28. StewGreen says:

    Alice Roberts ends her show
“Right to end the show I want you to stand up sing with the choir as we celebrate DIFFERENCE and DIVERSITY”

… are their any non-black people in the choir ?
    … nope

    • StewGreen says:

Go on hit the play button. no audio, cos it’s a GIF89 animation

    • Zelazek says:

There has always been something about Alice Roberts that I have disliked – some ruthless pollyanna-ish quality – I’ve never been able to put my finger on it or describe exactly what I’m feeling. Until now. I think she may be suffering from what Jordan Peterson calls “ideological possession”. The exaggerated joy on her face here strikes me as exhibitionistic virtue-signalling. A false self if ever I saw one.

  29. taffman says:

    “Chanel Migrants Declared Major Incident”
Is Great Britain being invaded because we have a weak, incompetent Government and a totally useless Border Force? Volunteer RNLI lives are being put at risk rescuing ‘queue jumpers’ who are deliberately breaking UK laws while the French turn a blind eye.
