Start the Week Open Thread 5 November 2018

The Far Left BBC staff are in full anti Trump cry as the American Midterms arrive . They never seem to have been so important and never has so much bias been directed at a President – non politician – by so many. The main stream media will be desperate to write the epitaph for what they call ‘populism ‘ but others would call democracy . I really hope they are unable to do that but let’s see….

    First! Yippee!

They actually mentioned this morning that most of the members of the migrant caravan were male! Perhaps our constant rage at their dishonesty has had an effect.

    • BRISSLES says:

BeebB… most of the members of the migrant caravan were male…..

Local schools had better be prepared then, and check for shaving equipment !

    • MarkyMark says:

Noticed a more broad and factual accounting of events.

    • Gammon says:

The beeb said today on R4 “Wimmin-Sour” that the caravan story was fake news invented for purposes of the election. Well the BBc did or one of their placed guests complaining about the republican campaign tactics.

I don’t know what to believe any more – if only there was a impartial and independent news provider we could trust. They could not be funded by commercial activity or political interests of course – perhaps a small levy on the population as a whole would provide sufficient funds to deliver high quality, impartial and independent broadcasting that was representative, balanced and could be trusted….

    • TrueToo says:

Guy Fawkes day. They really should have held the US midterms today. Then the BBC could have bought a truck load of fireworks to celebrate a prospective increase in power for the Democratics – then tried to flog them if the reverse happened.

The best moment, for me, when Trump won in 2016, was when the bewildered and devastated Clinton and company were sitting with a whole bunch of fireworks they’d never set off and Trump offered to buy them off them at ten cents to the dollar!

      • NCBBC says:

TrueToo: The best moment, for me, when Trump won in 2016, was when the bewildered and devastated Clinton and company were sitting with a whole bunch of fireworks they’d never set off and Trump offered to buy them off them at ten cents to the dollar!

Really. Would you have a link?

  3. TrueToo says:

    You’re up early Fedup2!

I recall being excited and enthusiastic when Cameron won – when was it, 2010? – as the BBC plunged into anger and bitterness. Then I slowly became disillusioned with him for numerous reasons, but I doubt the BBC ever changed what there is of its collective mind and started to appreciate him.

The US struggle seems to be no less than a struggle for the survival of all that is good, positive, sane, decent and productive about Western society. If the radical, treacherous, corrupt Democrats win, as they might well do since they have the backing of the US mainstream propagandists and UK propagandists like the BBC cheering them on from the sidelines, then we’ll see the speeding up of the decline in Western society.

We can only hope that sanity prevails.

    • NCBBC says:

I believe that Pres Trump is our last chance at halting the demise of the West to socialism/communism, and finally Sharia. He is like Obiwan Kenobe, our last hope, or Aragon in “Lord of the Rings”.

The socialists/communists, and the “Mordor” from the East, know it, and so does Pres Donald Trump.

    • Fedup2 says:

I try to put new threads up very early because I put one up during normal hours once and got told off . Thin skinned .

  4. Dover Sentry says:

    BBC Online News:

“”A really simple guide to the US mid-term elections””

“”Donald Trump’s White House has been hit by one scandal after another.””

“”Up to now, leading Democrats have avoided openly talking about removing President Trump or forcing him to resign.””

“”But if this were to happen, a majority of members of the House of Representatives would have to vote for impeachment.””

Are the BBC trying to influence American democracy?

The only scandal that Trump has been hit with is the scandal of media bias.

    • TrueToo says:

      Dover Sentry,

The BBC is getting targets of its indoctrination all mixed up. I’m sure they intended that article for CBBC, since it appears to be written for young children.

      And what’s this:

Up to now, leading Democrats have avoided openly talking about removing President Trump or forcing him to resign.

I guess the BBC must have been asleep while senior Democrats like Maxine Waters were yelling hysterically about impeaching Trump.

The noise the left-wing media has been making as it fantasises about his impeachment has led vast swathes of the uninformed left to believe he’s actually done something that warrants it.

And of course the BBC itself has been indulging in endless fantasies about his impeachment.

      • G.W.F. says:

Whatever result of the US Mid Terms, the BBC will have to issue gender neutral pussy hats to protest against Trump.

    • Beeb Brother says:

All the scandals are confected. Are the MSM not going to apologise for their Russia hoax? Months of relentless coverage and they might as well have been saying he colluded with Gandalf. And all this whilst raising the alarm over ‘fake news’!

  5. Beeb Brother says:

‘Teen called Lesbian for playing football.’

This is one of the ‘news’ stories on their app. Someone was called a name somewhere – hold the front page! Why must they subject us to this SJW garbage all the time? A budget of billions yet they choose to report on a child being called names by another child.

Will they ever accept that unequal outcomes are due to differences in interest between groups, sometimes with a biological basis like with gender? Indians go into medicine; proportionately more black men play football professionally than any group; men work in construction; most receptionists are women. SO WHAT? I thought diversity was our strength? They have defined equality as sameness when it should mean the Biblical sense of everyone being part of the same mutually loving family. My wife’s patently superior organisational skills are no source of ‘oppression’ but a complement to my more erratic ways; you do not get harmony if everyone plays the same note.

And of course women will never like football a millionth as much as men do. It is something than men have and women on the whole cannot appreciate and merely tolerate. How many arguments have I had with women about playing Fifa etc? I remember a date during a World Cup match which went disastrously as I could not take my eyes off the game. And obviously no girl had ever said after a drink: “Fancy a kickaround? Bet I can nutmeg you.” That would just be extremely weird.

The ‘equalities’ industry now is no longer about equal opportunities but about forcing equal outcomes in spite of the most overwhelming evidence that they are a terrible, tyrannical idea. Girls like football as much as boys, are you seriously trying to get us to swallow that? They are at war with reality.

      • Kaiser says:

a friend of mine used to play for a ladies team, she was the only straight player, and the other 10 had a merry go round of relationships and she didnt know who didnt want to pass to who on any given matchday because they fell out that week.

stereotypes exist because they are likely to be correct

        • Fedup2 says:

I might self identify and join a girlie team . I’m sure they wouldn’t mind manly beltching scatching and farting . And the goal celebrations could be … interesting … cold shower I think .

The first two comments on Marr’s tweet helpfully ‘prove’ that the bBC is impartial. Surely must be coincidental. One objective achieved? Phew!

      Not. Enough. Popcorn.

  7. Guest Who says:

The bbc only knows those at the ‘top’, see.

If they are the same as the loons with ‘QC’ in their twitter names, the bbc might be shooting itself in its biased foot. Again.

    • Guest Who says:

      • Roland Deschain says:

Having read the article I don’t see where they actually DO say that. Could the BBC be putting words in people’s mouths with another misleading headline? Perish the thought.

But assuming they did. It doesn’t seem to me that democracy is a matter of legality, as governments can pass whatever laws they wish. It’s a matter of fact, circumstance and opinion, about which these people are no more qualified than you or I to rule upon. If sufficient people feel it isn’t democracy, it doesn’t matter whether these “experts” have QC or ABC after their names.

        • ID says:

Even Parliament’s own web site makes this admission.

          “Developments affecting Parliamentary sovereignty
Over the years, Parliament has passed laws that limit the application of parliamentary sovereignty. These laws reflect political developments both within and outside the UK.

          They include:

The devolution of power to bodies like the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly.
          The Human Rights Act 1998.
The UK’s entry to the European Union in 1973.
The decision to establish a UK Supreme Court in 2009, which ends the House of Lords function as the UK’s final court of appeal.
These developments do not fundamentally undermine the principle of parliamentary sovereignty, since, in theory at least, Parliament could repeal any of the laws implementing these changes.”
” in theory at least” are the operative words.
Legal activism is all about implemennting certain “progressive ideas” in law so that they have constitutional force or are underpinned by international treaty. Isn’t that one of the main reasons to leave the EU?

If we are unable to vote for them (due to their own choices) then we should not be subject to their propaganda. SNP PPBs, speeches, news etc. should be restricted to Scotland only.

Presenter Sally Bundock puts a question to a guest who is an international oil market expert on BBC Business Live this morning:

“In a worst case scenario, let’s say these US sanctions on Iran are successful… ?”

Then we have the latest in the US/China trade war in which headlines we’re told President Xi has signalled his country will reduce import tariffs – as though this were a bad thing. Heaven forbid the US has a policy victory there, eh BBC?

Really, have we? I thought it was supposed to be a wildlife show.

To quote Tony Hancock to June Whitfield in the Blood Donor sketch:
“I didn’t come here for a lecture on communism”

    • Guest Who says:

Indulging in multiple redundancies here, but that goes beyond zero sense.

Presumably the graduate in vegan transgender train-spotting conducting the interview pointed out the plastic pollution in question is as a result of third world waterways the other side of the globe being used as waste disposal flumes?

So redirecting funds from actual sensibly managed recycling here to eco-officers’ pension funds might see what happens there gain ground here as a consequence?

Do you remember those far flung halcyon days of childhood?
When part of the growing up process was joshing with mates which in turn led to being called names at school?
Maybe if you had some clothes deemed to be a funny colour. Or hair that was too long or too short. I remember a female friend who was a bit of a tomboy. No-one cared. She played football, but went on to University and eventually get a senior managerial position in industry.
Welcome to 2018. Such name calling is now a Hate Crime and worthy of a front page headline on the BBC webshite, especially if sexuality is the theme.
‘Teen called Lesbian for playing football’.

In other news. Daily knife attacks in London. Relegated to the regional London page.

    • tarien says:

Agree Sluff- certainly a change NOT for the better-this nation under the suffocating European Union for 40+ yrs has prodcued a soft under bellie to this once tough nation. My Grandson was told not to use the word ‘Stupid,’ about any of his young school friends as it would be so hurtful-but he laughs in delight when he hears me use the word in another context, probably at some idiot on the TV.

The second wave would be personal injury lawyers with claim forms .

Sad times ( yes I know that in real danger there’d still be some people willing to stand up ).

        • tarien says:

Frankly Fedup2, I regret that very few if any of the young men now would ‘go over the top’-of course I should have included women as well-how the hell would they manage when wanting a pee! Soft that is what most of society is now-had it too good for too long, can’t think for themselves anymore. I mustn’t keep grumbling so my sons tell me, its the world we are in God help us.

Don’t know if this story appeared on the BBC, but their friends in the UAF and Antifa are gloating over it.

Far far far right German politician Alice Weidel pulls out of Oxford Union debate, citing ‘security concerns’.

As soon as her invitation was sent out the Oxford Labour Muslim Network, sent a protest and alerted the street thugs of the left to block the meeting. Obviously it was successful

So where does this place anti extremist Savid Javid, Home \ Secretary who cannot be arsed to provide security for one of Britain’s most prestigious debating venues? It is not as if he was unaware of their well advertised plans to create a breach of the peace and disrupt a legitimate meeting.

Obviously, if members of his kind want to shut down debate our Jihadist sympathising Home Secretary is with them.

    • Roland Deschain says:

If the authorities won’t do anything the only solution is to fight fire with fire. Sadly, we are at a disadvantage as most of us simply aren’t prepared to indulge in the kind of thuggish behaviour that Antifa seem to have a free pass over.

  20. tarien says:

Because I’m up making breakfast I listen therefore to ‘Thought for the Day’, however not this morning as the BBC had the temerity to broadcast a thought from Islam. Nothing could that wretched BBC find further from Chritianity than Islam. Of course its not been the first time the BBC have introduced an Islamic preacher to this spot- is it therefore no wonder we indig British feel under threat from the powers of stealth endeavouring by unsavory means to distablise our mostly Christian society (so far)-how wonderful are the Poppy displays this year.

    • JimS says:

Shouldn’t the French be ‘worried’ that their ferry company might suffer ‘because of Brexit’?

The BBC can be remarkably insular, ‘Europe’ doesn’t exist as far as normal news reporting is concerned and now, ‘because of Brexit’, they assume that only British companies might have problems. They also assume that all the well-known names are British, how insular and xenophobic is that?

Spare a BBC tear for Brittany Ferries, Ryan Air, BMW and Mercedes-Benz!

In the BBC world EU trucks will whiz through Calais and Dover, somehow bypassing all of ours blocking the gangways and roads ‘because of Brexit’.

  22. AsISeeIt says:

    That public service remit

Something occurred to me this morning as I watched the annual BBC TV cautionary interview with a fire officer, a burns victim and an emergency medic, reminding us of the dangers of fireworks. We’ve all heard auntie tut-tutting for years that organised public displays are safest and best – it’s in her nature to somewhat patronisingly prefer us to desist from purely privately moderated behaviour. It’s for our own good. But there’s a new element that has crept in. It crept in somewhere between the point where John Noakes hung up his woolly jersey and when Blairite health and safety do-gooders required goggles to be compulsory for playing conkers. No longer content with passing on the sensible warnings the BBC now actively promotes restrictive legislation. This morning, for instance, we have BBC presenters asking “What legislation would you like to see?” Our fire prevention officer and doctor seem not exactly impressed with the BBC’s suggested step of cigarette packet-like shock photos to be emblazened on firework packaging. So I’m wondering where did the BBC come up with that notion? This seems to be a clear case of the BBC overstepping the mark from sensible public service advice into the role of active campaigning entity.

If this is all over one day – and all of those ReichEU flags are taken off the car registration plates –

Will someone to a research job on the propaganda deployed in Project Fear One and Project Fear Two ? At least it can financed “ without funding from the ReichEU”.

  25. Nibor says:

How do you stop an investigation into a crime you’ve committed ?
You can give a bung to the authorities .
    Sicily . South America . Nigeria ?
No here in Blighty according to my latest threatogram from BBC Licensing . I have till November 12 to stump up or face the prospect of being investigated . I could compound the issue by writing underneath the line they ask me not to do .
Now here’s the rub . Why don’t they want me to write below the line at the bottom of a letter they send to me ? It contains an eleven digit number which is also printed on the right side of their threatogram under the title Investigation number ; except that the printed on the right hand side is one digit missing , the last ! Now which is the most important number allocated , is it the Investigation number , or the number below the line they ask you not to write in ? I also note that over the years I’m given the same Investigation number , even as they say they can open an investigation , have opened an investigation , and then say they have no option to finalise an investigation ( but then never say if it is finalised and if they’re happy about it ) .
I do imagine if their wet dreams came to fruition and they had a search warrant , were turfing out everything in my domicile and a lackey came across all their correspondence I stupidly kept .
” Enforcement Manager , I’ve found our letters to him and he’s scribbled under the line we’ve asked not to write below “!
    ” Well done , Pontificate , that’s damming evidence we need ” .
Then me ;” I’ve done it so many time I’ll have to ask you to take a hundred scribbles into consideration ” .
Best is to shred the letters now , before Beeb Brother sees I let a child crayon over those black boxes .
Should I send a letter of apology to Al Beeb , although asking within it that they don’t colour in the top right hand corner where I’m going to put an eleven digit number ?

Sadiq Khan on R5 earlier talking about tackling London knife crime being a 10 year project and that “we’ve got to give young people constructive things to do, investing in youth centres, youth workers, after-school clubs.”

Peston last week suggesting to Sajid Javid that the Muslim rapists might have felt excluded from British society.

The fate of Asia Bibi still precarious despite a legal acquittal. (Seven years ago the governor of Punjab was assassinated by his bodyguard, a member of the Counter-Terrorist Elite Police. He had lobbied for Bibi’s pardon and campaigned to repeal Pakistan’s blasphemy laws, but the killer’s motive was that questioning the country’s blasphemy laws constituted blasphemy itself. This Python-esque scenario of heresy and violent retribution would be almost funny if wasn’t a) so tragic, and b) taking root in the UK.)

Meanwhile our esteemed leaders are wafting around hoping to install a few more ping pong tables or set up an interfaith bingo night. Clueless on crime, clueless on the causes of crime and utterly incapable when it comes to joining dots.

Before I rant on I confess – I have two degrees in law and criminology . Now criminology is a lefty subject all aimed at the baddy – which the lefty includes the police .
So being of the Right I had to adapt .

Do more coppers cut crime ? Not necessarily – internal social control plays a part – ie if you try a smash and grab will some one stop you or just do a selfie ?

    Is there a chance of arrest , charge , prosecution , conviction, nasty sentence … ? ( I know spontaneous crime doesn’t go through this – )

Will I get a hard time inside ? Only from other prisoners.

Anyway the Tory Party of Law and Order Lady floundered over 1 killing in 3 days in Londonistan . Drugs , blah , gangs blah , Hatey crime , nothing about parenting , social control , an ineffective police force using decent powers.

At one stage I thought she was on the verge of saying murder investigations will get special priority if hate is involved but Humph guided her only firmer gound .

You might notice quite a few killings take place after school and during school holidays – which might be a bit of a clue . Because the British State has gone easy on the disciple of kids they feel they cannot be touched – which is true -until the blade goes in .

Al beeb could do a public service by investigating this gently – but they do a 27 ego piece with a diverse beeboid and get nowhere. And if you’re reading beeboids – an idea for a series to take to your many many managers ….

BTW fedup I believe you are a keen watcher of Germanic politics….
They just got rid of Maaßen. Reassuring though to know that in the German deep state there are still people left with morals..

      • fakenewswatcher says:

This was the chap- head of the German MI5- who had to quit because he attested that there had been no ‘right wing’ hunting down of migrants after the Chemnitz murder of a German by migrants, and that the MSM, in collusion with the socialist SPD, had concocted this story. He refers to it as ‘fake news’ (Falschinformationen).
SPD buddy, Merkel, was immediately ready and willing to fire the man, albeit she gave him a sideways promotion to shut him up.
The current CDU is not strong on truth or integrity either.

    • StewGreen says:

      TR talks about a hitpiece
This is the thing Ezra said he was being blackmailed about
when he claimed Caolan has secret recordings of Tommy.
.. The new framing is “TR will earn £1m from American trip fact I will not get paid a penny ..all they’re doing is reporting HnH propaganda”

      • Gammon says:

I noticed that this news whilst on mainstream news feeds such as the independent does not appear on bBc where the top story is Spice Girls reunion tour and the promoted main page anti trump story

He really should assume that he is completely wired and tracked . As well as having ‘ new helpful friends’ paid by State . Britain has been good at that going back to Guido Fawkes / John Johnstone .

        • kingkp says:

Fawkes is a typical middle/upper class Brit. Untrustworthy, not half as smart as he thinks he is and completely brainwashed in to believing Russia is behind everthing evil in the world. On top of that he’s a complete cnt.

    • StewGreen says:

How can the BBC do a hit piece against TR ?
.. he still has a contempt trial coming up if the AG says so
.. and such a hit job would PREJUDICE that trial
.. and thus increase his chances of getting off.

      • Fedup2 says:

Stew – I think they’ll put it out on the day the case is dropped in an attempt to dampen an celebrations – they’ll try to find something else to report to the political prosecutors .

        • StewGreen says:

Well if you had incriminating evidence against TR then it’s in the public interest to release it as soon as possible.
If you start holding it’s release as a tease then that is just PR.
Since Ezra tweeted about the blackmail 18 months ago , I don’t expect much new.

Lucy Brown did talk about panto-journalism as if some TR stuff is set up for camera.
Makes you wonder about the film when they were beaten up by antifa and whether that was faked, but I’ve not saying antifa saying that.

As ever TR should not be the main thing
… which is preventing future victims of ethnic Muslim crime by getting metroLibs to stop their cover-ups, so justice can take place.

          • G.W.F. says:

We have to think why the BBC and media and politicians are so keen for a hit job on TR.
It’s to protect the child rapists and their supporters.

    • StewGreen says:

Update it’s not Caolan it’s Lucy Brown
who went around Tommy’s back and invited his arch enemy Ali Dawah the free speech event.
..absolutely reckless, cos she got hi past security, but then as the police led him away, 3 or 4 of the TR crowd lashed out with fists , it was all over less than a minute cos the rest didn’t join in they helped the stewards stop it

Two Brits were invited onto TWatO (BBC R4 today) to opine on divisiveness in politics and society in the USA and the UK with the B-word being mentioned as a matter of course.

Both contributors were left to spout with the occasional prompt from Sarah. One or both mentioned FakeNews and sought to spotlight President Trump unfavourably.

One, within a minute or two, then stated there had been mass shootings in the USA every day last week.

No reports on the BBC R4 News.

Or was that an example from the contributor via the BBC of the very FakeNews that she had been talking about earlier?

PS: Just done a quick bit of research. Apparently a ‘mass shooting’ in the USA is defined as 4 or more, so in reality it can comprise as few as the assailant, one or more police officers and maybe no other or one or two or three members of the public being wounded and/or killed. Yes, the total is one a day, to date, minus one.

The BBC have not reported this in my hearing on R4. Is their anxiousness to denigrate President Trump leading them to forsake their primary duties as a newscaster and source of information & education?

    • Rob in Cheshire says:

These so-called “mass shootings” are usually criminals shooting other criminals in a dispute over turf or drugs. They are almost always black or Hispanic, and do not involve legally owned firearms.

But why let the truth get in the way of a story? Good job the BBC isn’t “fake news”.

  36. Fedup2 says:

So with a bit of luck the Irish prime minister will block the Brexit agreement – he obviously smells a bribe to be paid to Eire . I think it comes from electing someone who is truly Irish .

For a little country with a population the size of 10 London boroughs he has plenty of front and if he does extract cash he must be made to pay a reprisal price when there aren’t any ReichEU flags in Blighty any more –
And we should burn them .

    • kingkp says:

There are millions of Irish in the UK. I can guarantee you, the vast majority voted remain. I know one who lives in Spain and maintains an address in the UK solely for the purpose of returning to vote in such a way as to fck up the country. Never underestimate the hatred that lingers.

      • vlad says:

It is perhaps fatigue or an addled mind… but I have noticed some bBC commentary recently that appears to begin to attempt to show or infer nay hint at some balance on Brexit…. it could be that they sense there will be no chance of a second referendum and don’t what to be on the wrong side of that or perhaps a sense that people are become less afraid to admit to voting for brexit and want to get on with it. I have noticed in “twitter” that often Guardian readership, middle left and “right on” Londoner types are being closed down by those on the right and those on the left. The peoples march was tagged a march for torys and liberal middle classes and not representative of the nation. Peoples vote are losing their voice as they have proven they don’t have a common ground politically. Labour have no interest and Torys are committed to brexit (however soft) and no second referendum.

Anyway.. amongst the musing and wittering I found a strong left wing voice vehemently complaining about BBC right wing bias – really genuinely. I am looking for the right wing bias BBC site so I may sign up as a double agent….

Takes the pressure of actually doing something off a little doesn’t it?
What could be done? employing police officers who can’t be man handled out of their own patrol vehicles might be a start. How about profiling the stabbers and targeting those that fit the profile for increased police attention/stop and search? Photofit of suspects released? Dream on.

    • StewGreen says:

Sadiq story has a few comments near the top of this page
C-trl F and search on “Sadiq”

    • Fedup2 says:

It might take a generation ( 14 years ) to retrain the police to enforce laws again and not be 9 – 5 cohesion officers or Hatey crime recorders .

Bringing stop and search without reason might help as would curfews in kids in high crime areas but that would cost a lot . Our diverse cultures who live on the street would also object of course .

Meanwhile kids remain dead and families remain in grief .

I think this is the way some bits of Britain are going to be for an unforseeable amount of time . The cost of a liberal ‘ screw you – rights’ society . And guns haven’t quite become common currency yet .

    • kingkp says:

ffs the guy is a joker.
