Good one RT is carrying a good one about the polytechnic / uni of Brighton carrying a sex workers guide in the freshers exhibition – obviously a potential career for those with 2:2s in meedja studies.

Sex workers. Do they exist? I lived for 15 years in Manchester’s red light district in Whalley Range, saw them sitting on the walls near the park each day. Used to chat with them. They sold drugs, fenced stolen goods, participated in muggings of would be clients, but never to my knowledge engaged in sex – far too risky.

A prosecutor provides a run down of Blasey Ford’s case against Kavanaugh and suggests it is extremely thin to non-existent…the BBC aren’t interested but are interested in a claim that Kavanaugh drank heavily….not a new claim, it was in fact already made before the committee questioning and was raised by the committee.
Ford’s story is full of inconsistencies and evasions. She has said variously that at the party there were 4 boys, 4 people plus herself, 4 boys and a couple of girls plus herself, 4 boys and 1 girl and in her therapy notes it states she said there were 4 boys actually in the room as she was assaulted….oh and at the committee she then claimed there were more than the 4/5 others at the party….but they’re just a vague memory, an impression she had.
She gave the impression that she named Kavanaugh in therapy, ‘ I had never named Mr. Kavanaugh as my attacker outside of therapy.’, but this isn’t true as she later admits. His name does not appear in the notes.
Her lawyers are extremely reluctant for her to say anything but claim that these notes are crucial to her case as corroboration…and yet they refuse to release any of them to the committee, even the relevant parts….though the Washington Post has seen some of them…but Ford cannot remember if she showed them the notes or told them about them or ….or..or?
‘In a letter to the committee’s leadership, Ford’s attorneys said they would not provide any of Ford’s medical records of the alleged assault.
“Any request that she expose her private medical records for public inspection represents an unacceptable invasion of privacy to which no reasonable person would consent,” her attorneys wrote. “Under no circumstances will we grant any such request.” ‘
So crucial evidence, or supposed evidence, is being withheld by her lawyers who seem remarkably obstructive during the hearing such as when Ford was asked if she had been asked if she would like the committee to fly over to her home to conduct the interview [due to her claimed fear of flying…which she doesn’t actually have…another lie]. She had already admitted that this had happened in a previous question so why it was suddenly objected to is odd….she actually said she was hoping they would come to see her…and yet she refused their offer.
She had a lie detector test, on the advice of her new found lawyers. She did not have a ‘forensic’ interview by a specialist in this kind of subject…sexual attacks….which is apparently by far the most effective method of ascertaining the truth and not the confusing and almost unstructured quizzing by numerous different questioners on the committee. She says she was crying and extremely nervous throughout the interview, held on the day of her grandmother’s funeral…though she can’t be sure of the date…but she signed a statement made at the test as ‘7th August’ and the test was held on that day….she had the note on the desk in front of her at the committee and yet just couldn’t remember the day.
Her note is a childish scrawl [provided in the test results linked to above] with numerous crossings out…written at the time of the test in the presence, and under the advice, of her lawyer.
‘After introductions were made, this examiner left the room so Blasey and Attorney Banks could discuss this matter. During this discussion, Blasey provided a written statement to Banks detailing the events that occurred on the evening of the assault.’
The test was run almost off-the-cuff in a hotel room when Ford must have been in a highly emotional state…as she suggests. So how did they get a proper control read out for comparison? If she was lying how would they tell the difference between her already heightened emotions and her answers to the final questions relating to the truth of her statement? The question wasn’t ‘Did Kavanaugh assault you?’ it was ‘Is this statement[as written in the room] true?’ Subtle difference. Might suggest she could successfully pass this test no problem as she seems a good actor at the committee hearing….and many people do pass the test when they are lying. The photos from the test make her look a lot harder faced than she presents to the committee where she is ‘ditzy’, forgetful, uncertain and evasive and puts on a ‘girly’ front.
She does not come aross as a reliable witness due to the enormous inconsistencies in her various statements and her evasive, stagey performance put on to allow her to make a show of ‘forgetting’ information that could actually provide substance to her claims…she is a highly qualified professional who runs a very busy life and must be organised and competent…so her act is less than convincing…

She won’t name who gave her a lift to the house, nor who picked her up afterwards…why? They would at least corroborate her presence at this party…nor does she say where the house is…surely it must have been the house of one of the people at the party, you don’t randomly walk into a house off the street and start to party.
Not locating the house is very convenient as to do so would then open up a raft of evidence as dates, places and peoples’ activity could be checked as it brings in others such as the parents and owners of the house.
The Republican prosecutor questioning Ford is not at all impressed with the case and you can see her whole line of questioning here….

If Kavanaugh had blacked out due to alcohol, it is very, very unlikely that he would be in a fit state to push her into a room and attempt to attack her. It should have been easy for her to escape if she had wanted to.
When I was young I often used to drink a lot, too much. But despite however drunk I sometimes got, I never blacked out. Unfortunately I was always able to remember everything the morning after! I know that if I had ever tried to commit an assault on a woman when I was drunk that, despite me being tall, any woman would have been able to get away from me easily.
Her story does not add up. I thought at first that someone might have assaulted her. I now wonder if she was ever actually assaulted at all and that this is all a choreographed sham, planned with “Democrat” Party requirements in mind.
Maybe she used to fantasize about being assaulted when she was young and in her therapy sessions it was her fantasy memory that was triggered not a real memory.
If, however, she is telling the truth and Kavanaugh as a 17 year old did try to grope her, her acting performances and “Democrat” Party convenient timings make it look as though he is innocent. This would do women who have been genuinely attacked a grave dis-service, as they will be less likely to come forward because there will now be a great deal of scepticism on future claims. This last sentence is even more valid if Kavanaugh is innocent.

A senior scientist who said physics “was invented and built by men” has been suspended with immediate effect from working with the European nuclear research centre Cern.
Prof Alessandro Strumia, of Pisa University, made the comments during a presentation organised by the group
He told his audience of young, predominantly female physicists that his results “proved” that “physics is not sexist against women. However the truth does not matter, because it is part of a political battle coming from outside”.
He produced a series of graphs which, he claimed, showed that women were hired over men whose research was cited more by other scientists in their publications, which is an indication of higher quality.
Just as well for the professor he did not use the term white.
The BBC provides quotes from two female scientists stating how bad the bias is.

I saw some ‘ethnic’ shopping bags hanging outside a restaurant today. I thought they were just part of the ‘theme’ but then I saw they were priced at £45. I did wonder who would buy them, women I thought, strange creatures! In my pocket I had my cotton ‘Safeway’ bag that must have cost, oh 50p or so.

Naturally the programme is used as a round the world jolly, so we start in Lord Howe Island, off the coast of Queensland. Nice if you can get it. We are treated to many examples of the presenter (female, non-white needless to say) emoting and looking shocked and forlorn at the contents of sheerwater birds’ stomachs. Ok, we got it from the start, you don’t need to keep on with the emoting. Then its off to Indonesia to see a river of plastic floating on, well, a river. The problem (which I’ve seen in India for myself) is totally inadequate, often non-existent, refuse collection, due to local and national (usually emerging economies) government failings. But that is swiftly brushed aside and we are told the problem is down to those nasty private sector global brands selling products in sachets. Weird thing was, in all the coverage of plastic floating on water or submerged beneath it, there were no sachets to be seen.
So the programme is human interest driven, full of presenter emoting, and with the usual private sector targets. What could have been useful is rendered useless with questionable credibility by the BBC’s insatiable bias and dreadful lefty agenda and editorialising.

A thought experiment: One could take a representative sample of the UK adult population and measure their heights or the reflectance of their hair. It would be then possible to establish the median value at which the population at large is evenly split. Then when recruiting physics professors one simply chooses those that equalise the heights/reflectance for your faculty. How exactly that improves research or how one actually achieves ‘equality’ across multiple factors is surely worth a Nobel prize!
