The BBC tried to diminish Entebbe

…but only succeeded in further diminishing itself.

I am pleased to report to esteemed colleagues on this fine site that I finally downloaded British government documents on the Entebbe rescue opened to the public in May 2007 and pounced on by alleged journalist Dan Parkinson who was named and shamed by the indefatigable BBC Watch for triumphantly plucking part of a conspiracy theory from the documents in order to demean and discredit the Israelis and diminish one of the most brilliant and daring rescue operations of modern times.

Here’s the conspiracy theory, in full, sent to the FOC from the British Embassy in Paris:

June 30 1976

A contact in the Euro-Arab Parliamentary Association rang me on 29 June to say that according to his information, the hijack was the work of the PFLF, with help from the Israeli Secret Service, the Shin Beit. The operation was designed to torpedo the PLO’s standing in France and to prevent what they see as a growing rapprochement between the PLO and the Americans. Their nightmare is that after the November elections, one will witness the imposition in the Middle East of a Pax Americana, which will be to the advantage of the PLO (will gain international respectability and perhaps the right to establish a state on evacuated territories) and to the disadvantage of the Refusal Front (who will be squeezed right out in any overall peace settlement ….) and Israel (who will be forced to evacuate occupied territory). Hence the unholy alliance of the hijacking. My contact says that the PFLP had attracted all sorts of wild elements, some of whom had been planted by the Israelis.

Amazing how the Israeli Secret Service would conspire to commit an atrocity on fellow Israelis at the hands of German and Arab terrorists. Only an anti-Semite (or a BBC journalist) could believe such trash.

Even worse, Parkinson had this to say about dual UK-Israeli citizen Dora Bloch:

Two Israeli civilian hostages died in the shooting, and a third died later in a Nairobi hospital.

No, Dora Bloch was abducted from the hospital in Kampala (this ‘journalist’ can’t even get his cities/countries right) and murdered by Amin’s thugs. Her body was recovered later that year 32 km from Kampala and her callous murder caused Britain to break off relations with Uganda.

It defies belief that Parkinson did not know about this, since it caused outrage amongst the public at the time – and since the documents he sourced the story from have several letters and other references to the disappearance of Dora Bloch as the British government strove to find out what had happened to her.

It’s high time the BBC understood that it can no longer simply throw things it doesn’t like down the Memory Hole. We’ll just fish them out again and shove them in the BBC’s smug face.

What an evil bitch this councillor is. Labour will try to avoid kicking her out of the party for life for as long as they can as it will show that accusations of anti-Semitism against the party are all well founded. The BBC, Sky etc. will do their best to avoid it as they won’t want to harm their Labour Party bosses.

The second link is more shockimng because I looked at the comments and they are clearly (except for one) written by a bunch of neo-Nazi Labourites. “Their dirty fingers in every pie”, “Israel is anti-semitic”, “They are not the same as the ones after the war” and other choice Sturmer-type quotes.

That councillor apparentlylikes to quote the Niemoller saying about “First they came for the Jews” etc. In her case the saying would be: “First they came for the Conservatives, I said nothing because I hate Conservatives. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, I said nothing because I am a dip-shit. Then they came for the Jews, and I partied all night as I really hate them”.

I think the Entebbe raid was an amazing and gutsy rescue and should not be forgotten. I thought so at the time and said so which didn’t make me popular with the pro-Palestinian lefties I used to hang out with. To me it was a fully justified response to a terrorist action. If other nations had been so bold perhaps the world would not be in the state it’s in.

      Yasser Dasmibehbi,

Yes, agreed and agreed. The commandos actually had to take off and head for Entebbe because time was running out and the government was still agonizing over the decision. They got the go ahead to carry out the mission while in the air.

Ages ago I was a leftie. Then I woke up.

That video should be outed immediately. I hope the remaining moderates in the Labour Party make it public. He’s got to go, and the fascist Militant group also.

There can be now no doubt that Corbyn is an anti-semite, an anti-semite of the worst kind.

In the comments there were one or two who actually thought that it was Israeli Government policy. Anti-semitism is now so fashionable on the left.

As I say, the bbc’s response, or sudden interest in skateboarding turtles, will be interesting.

Corbyn am anti Semite? Who would have thought? A few weeks or months back Corbyn was going to ‘tackle antisemitsm’ as the BBC plastered its news story all over the place!

Anti-semnite is too polite a term….use ‘Jew hater’ instead, or Nazi…the Labour Party is now a resurgent Nazi Party….watch them squirm.

      Guest Who,

The most disturbing thing about that video is that Corbyn the anti-Semite felt comfortable spouting his anti-Semitism on camera.

The thing that tends to prevent the election of a Labour government happens to be Corbyn himself. After Theresa May has had ‘the worse few weeks ever’ seeing the Tories level with Labour in the polls shows how bad Labour really is!

No word on the BBC over a Tory revival though, just a few days ago I mentioned how they where highlighting the Labour lead!

Entebbe was the last great victory in the West’s war against terrorism. Since then the terrorists’ supporters have taken over the media, allowing (or at least justifying) them to commit barbaric acts with no reprimand. At the time it just seemed normal that Israel would go and win against the terrorists, despite the great difficulties, but it was a great victory.

That’s another reason why the left, including the BBC, hate Israel. The Israeli government will hit back hard against the attacks and will fight terrorism to defend their people. For the Israeli government it is an existential threat. They must hit back or there’s no Israel.

If Israel goes then the Jews around the world will be in great danger. The left have taken over in so many countries, including Western Europe, North America, Australia and so-on that the Socialists will love to try to finish what their National Socialist predecessors started.

Ironically, if Israel goes the best hope for the survival of the Jews will be in Russia and Eastern Europe. Not traditionally good places for Jews but that may end up being all there is. Western Europe is next in the firing line so Israel must survive, not only for the Jews but for the rest of us as well.

Good post Demon and I agree with the substance of it. But Entebbe preceded Israel’s attack on Iraq’s reactor in 1981 – which attack did the world a great favour.

I’m not fully convinced that a country like Australia is already lost. There’s a great deal of hope for the US with Trump in charge and Canada might come to its collective senses and get rid of Trudeau, if that’s his name.

The way that the BBC reports today , if it was the same between
1939-1945 they would have had a special correspondent in
Berlin giving us the Nazi viewpoint.

They would have regularly interviewed Lord Haw Haw, carefully giving the impression he was from an independent Think Tank, about how the war was progressing and then they would have gone on to treat his garbage as if it were as credible as the official government reports.

If that sounds fanciful just remember the bBBC’s reporting in more recent conflagrations our military has been involved in where the official reports about our troops activities were treated with scepticism and disdain whilst blatant propaganda from their opponents were treated and absolutely accurate and to be far more believable than our own and our allies output.

Todays news from the BBC is that our government is very worried at the level of Fake news that is gaining ground, at the expense of government fact checked news reported by the state funded BBC.

    I’m shocked. Shocked.

Democracy is under threat. This must be stopped. The government must close down sites that besmirch the good name of state funded news orgs such as the BBC, otherwise it will put children in danger.

We have to protect the Children.

Based across the Cabinet Office and No.10, the RRU is neither a “rebuttal” unit, nor is it a “fake news” unit. During this pilot period, we’ve tested the concept, evaluated the impact of specific initiatives and examined how strongly stories are shared online.

After a lot of fluff, this

    1. As press officers we know that rebuttal will often not be an appropriate course of action.

    2. As digital content experts we know that pithy, polarised untruths cannot and should not always be met with snappy responses.

    3. As communicators we all know that good communication starts with listening, and that we must be alert to what is being said about government policy, including mis- or disinformation.

    4. Finally, as civil servants we know that impartiality, accuracy and transparency is absolutely fundamental to everything we do.

First two – nonsense , followed by a lie and the final Big Lie of the Orwellian type.

      Lucy Pevensey,

Right, the UK ‘government’ is going to “provide finances” for various projects in ‘Palestine.’ Good luck to them with that as Hamas and crew divert the money to their priority project to tunnel into Israel in order to murder Israeli civilians.

These days it really wouldn’t surprise me if Theresa May and company regard that fact as an unavoidable side effect of feel-good assistance to the Palestinians.
