Weekend Open Thread

‘Any Questions’ fielded the editor of the online ‘news site’ The Canary Kerry-Anne Mendoza without telling us it is essentially a mouthpiece for Corbyn…not a ‘news site’ at all is it?,  good of the BBC to give it a platform…though maybe not as what we got was childish, ignorant, partisan nonsense from the editor…a bit of insight into what you could expect from The Canary itself?

Interesting to hear Dimbleby describe the audience as ‘self-selecting’…always thought they were carefully and rigorously vetted and selected for impartiality and to provide a good balance that represented the full spectrum of political viewpoints from across the country….Dimbleby also suggested that most of the audience would like to eat less meat….is that because he ran a poll or because he knows most of them are lefty sandal-wearing veggies?  The latter I suspect.

Any instances of the BBC ‘self-selecting’ the news that suits it….list it all here….

But real news is not the BBC’s job as they see it. They see themselves as opinion formers who know exactly what those opinions should be, never mind the facts.

      • Stella2 says:

So right, David R. Here’s a prime example of BBC “balance” in the Vince Cable Backlash story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-43367204

All written in a way that just makes Cable’s offensive points, yet again, of course. But the telling part is when the paragraph break is an advert for other BBC website stories:

Have voters changed their minds about Brexit?
Cable: Brexit vote was ‘white nostalgia’
        Corbyn: Labour Brexit approach ‘sensible’

Hmmm…so we have an implication that voters don’t want Brexit (when all the evidence points to a frustration even among ordinary Remain voters that we should just get on with it and honour the democratic result…repeat of Cable’s first offensive witterings…and GUESS WHAT?…not an implication but an insidious little STATEMENT that the dangerous far-Left Corbyn is the politician who is taking the sensible Brexit approach. (We don’t buy the inverted commas, in this context they are almost meaningless, simply added in for that famous BBC “balance”.)

AAAAGGGHHHH! Impartial it is not. And this goes on, hour after hour, day after day. No wonder I can no longer engage with the BBC except for brief fact-finding forays in order to see what the enemy is up to.

So the UK is going backwards?

        1000 child * 40 years * 52 weeks (r*ped once a week) = 2,080,00 = 2 million r*pes occurred (minimum)

“They need to know how abuse (1000 children) took place for so long (40 years) and why so many perpetrators (do they have a number?) have never been brought to justice.” – Telegraph on Telford 1000 r*pes over 40 years without an alarm raised even after the Jay Report on Rotherham!

A bBBC report on BREXIT…….. PLEASE SHARE THIS PROOF THAT THE BBC IS SPREADING FAKE NEWS ABOUT BREXIT and please complain to OFCOM, to the BBC trustees and to your MP

Also please copy a link to this post on every BBC Facebook and Twitter page

In the BBC article below (Link at bottom of this post) they give the false impression that the latest polls are moving to support Remain whereas the OPPOSITE IS THE CASE.

The LATEST POLLS from ComRes and ORB shows that the majority of those polled SUPPORT LEAVE and NOT REMAIN as this Fake News BBC article claims

The BBC makes this highly misleading, FAKE NEWS claim: “Similarly, four recent polls – conducted by ICM and ComRes between December and March – that looked at how people might vote in a second referendum, albeit without posing the exact question that was on the ballot paper, have also on average put Remain slightly ahead – by 51% to 49%.”

In fact the latest poll by ComRes reported in the Labour and Remain supporting Sunday Mirror on 3rd March 2018, with polling conducted after Theresa May’s Mansion House key note speech setting out the British government’s position on 2nd March, found that

    * the MAJORITY said they SUPPORTED Brexit

Furthermore the poll found that MORE THAN 80% of those polled

    * DID NOT SUPPORT Corbyn’s Customs Union plan
    * DID NOT SUPPORT having another referendum
    * DID NOT WANT Theresa May to call another General Election
    * Thought Corbyn should RULE OUT a Customs Union

Therefore this latest ComRes poll TOTALLY CONTRADICTS the thrust of the BBC’S article and in particular refutes the false impression that the latest ComRes poll put “Remain slightly ahead”

Furthermore this latest poll below by ORB of 2,000 people published on 10th March in the Telegraph CONFIRMS the findings of the above ComRes poll and again totally CONTRADICTS the thrust of the BBC article and REFUTES their false and highly misleading claim: “Remain slightly ahead”

    The ORB poll found

    * If a referendum took place tomorrow 53 per cent said they would vote Leave, compared with 47 per cent who supported Remain

    * 67% believed that the EU was trying to punish and bully Britain and only 17% side with the EU

    * 64% believed that Britain will have more control over immigration after Brexit

“ Have voters changed their minds about Brexit?”

It’s pathetic how -no matter what is being discussed- any R4 programme will make a diversion to lambast the ‘far right’, be it ever so briefly. This morning on ‘Start the Week’ at the ‘Free thinking’ (!) festival at Gateshead with Kirsty Wark, it was the poet who had to mention ‘fascism’ and it was Kirsty (or one of the other lady guests) who quickly had to make the link. Job done.
When one of the guests started up with ‘Brexit’, obviously feeling that -having mentioned ‘fascism’ the next obligatory bit of mud-slinging had to take place, she was cut short. Can’t make things TOO obvious, you know, and a highly intellectual discussion (they thought?) had to steer clear of such practical issues.
Intellectual? Same old drivel about the ‘commodification’ of everything, but new books to be sold…

A reminder on why Cable’s remark get spun into a big news event
yet a crowd of 30,000 Football Lads on an anti-terrorist/rape march doesn’t even get reported.

NUJ rules mean they only have to twist that an event so it can be labelled with the boo word “far right” and then they have an excuse for dropping fairness in reporting.
They’ll go along with film crews and unless something negative happens the footage never gets broadcast.

Racist attitudes and the growth of far-right parties pose a threat to democracy, the rights of trade union organisations, a free media and racial equality.
Its members have a responsibility to stop racism being expressed in the media.
… You do not have to report on racist organisations.

          MacShane ? FFS really….?

          • Al Shubtill says:

            Denis MacShane

“He began his twin careers of deceit and treachery while an official at the National Union of Journalists in the 1970’s, when he was responsible for drawing up the NUJ’s ‘Guidelines on Race Reporting’, an influential document in the suppression of free speech in this country.

It stridently champions diversity and multi-culturalism, banning NUJ members from even the slightest criticism of ethnic settlers. In tone it resembles a Communist Party directive in the Soviet Union, rigid instructions more than guidelines.

For decades journalists have used their influence to manipulate public opinion and the main reason for that are these strict guidelines, which all journalists must respect and which dictate what can or cannot be written or broadcast. These guidelines imposed by the NUJ have had a baneful effect on British democracy by establishing systematic censorship.”

“The guidelines state clearly that that parties opposed to mass immigration must be reported in negative terms, that journalists must promote immigration and diversity and whenever settlers commit a crime their ethnicity should ideally not be revealed.

And these guidelines were created by one of the most despicable of all British politicians, a man who, prior to becoming a politician, was even sacked by the BBC for gross dishonesty.”

    • Rick Bradford says:

Day by day we see our hard-won freedoms taken away from us, even the simple act of walking in the street becomes harder as we squeeze past the concrete blocks ‘enriching’ the built environment.

In fairness, it was over the top to say Mr F knew about it personally, but what was telling was his anger in denying it and the speed he cut the caller off for doing it. I got the distinct impression that the caller had struck a very raw spot; that Nick Ferrari was well aware that he should have known about it and that the MSM has failed badly in not wanting to know about it.

What was telling was that every subsequent caller I heard on this subject was of “Asian” background. Did they screen out anyone else white for fear of what they might say?

Just over 35% of NHS staff from other EU countries, or 21,000, work as nurses. This amounts to 7% of all nurses. Since 2009 there have been large increases in the number of nurses from Spain, Portugal, Italy and Romania.

In percentage terms, EU staff have the highest representation among doctors – they make up almost 1 in 10 of this category. Among EU doctors, Greeks are notably represented – over 70% of Greek staff in the NHS work as doctors, compared with one-sixth of all EU staff. The number of Greek doctors has increased substantially since 2009.

“woke” adj virtue signalling like an SJW
Original meaning “awake” to cultural sensitivities , but now used in a disparaging way.
Say the Times supplement in a 2 FCCpage article about people like Justin Trudeau.
    “Stay Woke”

Didn’t anyone tell the Americans it sounds too like “w@g” ?

As renowned holders of power to account, will/is the BBC be asking Amber Rudd to explain all the processes behind this?

Or is the Home Office as rammed with people with serious conflicts of interest as the BBC is? Innit.

“Riddled with spelling and grammatical errors.”

Boy, they’re not kidding – that’s a shocking piece of writing – at a guess I’d say the author of it has a language other than English as their primary language.

      • MarkyMark says:

        Don’t worry … UK should set date for everyone to speak English, says Casey {bbc.co.uk 12mar2018}

      • Guest Who says:

Given she was apparently then challenged on whether she was a Christian and views on running over Muslims in cars, it seems like she must have been very unlucky in the officers on duty, or was actually at Islamabad Arrivals.

        • Rob in Cheshire says:

Islamabad, Luton, it’s only a matter of time.

Interesting however that being involved with a “right wing organisation” now gets you banned from the UK. The Home Office is clearly in the grip of the same Common Purpose scumbags as the BBC, and its new motto is: “There are no enemies on the Left.”

          • Fedup2 says:

            Guest / rob
It shows that freedom has its limitations within Blighty . The ability to share views is limited by the nature of the passport held. . The cunts turning up at Finsbury Park mosque calling for the death of Jews and other infidels never had a banning order.

The best I can make of today is that the stupidly named flower powered Home Secretary – amber Rudd looked well and truly fucked.

Must be that it or agender (was going to say Man or woman, but…you get my drift) who writes up the news highlights at bottom of screen when ever the BBC main news goes live!

    • Fedup2 says:

She should either challenge this in the court -uk or ReichEU or claim political refugee status .

Interesting that ‘supporting a right wing cause’ is now grounds for denial of entry . One party state here we come – I’ve only just realised that the governing bodies in the uk all believe in one thing – destroying national character through multiculturalism but are divided through taxation policy and spending – except overseas aid of course.

  34. MarkyMark says:

BBC are now in the google listings …. day old news … 12mar2018 @ 16:18… story as big as Rotherham …. down the BBC omission memory hole ….

Main BBC site – no mention!
BBC News page – no mention!
BBC UK page – no mention!
BBC England – mentioned – but not with Telford in title “Call for enquire into sex abuse claims”

BBC have been hacking Iranian elections for years.
And yet scream about any influence the Kremlin and RT might have in US/Brexit

    • MarkyMark says:

Don’t worry Iran is a completely Islamic country and is … a shining example where people who report to the BBC disappear … wait, Saudi Arabia is a 100% Islamic country and only beheaded 150 people in 2016 … no, no, no… Yemen is a great example where Sunni and Shite can exist together under the Islamic creed … wait, *sigh*

      • Fedup2 says:

        Al beeb news

Broadcasting a new term “ canine eugenics”
In relation to some Crufts nonsense . I find that term pretty offensive at a number of levels but al beeb doesn’t grasp the sensitivity since it is so close to the anti Semitic labour socialist party . Maybe lady chacrabati can make a learned comment

    • Guest Who says:

Be a shame if the first response the BBC gets from UN Complaints (Iran) that they have talked with Iran and Iran feels they have got it about right.

    Happy Empire / commonwealth day

Al beeb doesn’t know what line to take so goes for the Meghan Markle showbiz approach as opposed to the empire repression of dusky people from bongo bongo land approach which would be far more comfortable for al beeb .

Maybe when the queen shuffles of the mortal coil the Commonwealth will call it a day and become more geographic . The damage has all ready been done to Blighty with so many Commonwealth imports without blood ties to Britain and shame treatment of auz and nz to apologise for.

  38. Martellus says:

Well what a change at Crufts eh. A veritable bbbc wankfest of diversity, enrichment and multi culti groupthink clap trap. So many different sizes, shapes colours and orientations. The dogs were very diverse too. We’re all wearily used to the well documented bbbc distortions and lies by omission – er wot Italian elections, er wot grooming gangs, er it was a Norwegian national, but what I cant forgive are their blatant LIES. When one doggy so called expert proclaimed that dachshunds were trainable and enjoyed exercise, well the three of us, my good self, the current Mrs Marty, and Penny my longhaired mini nearly fell off the sofa sniggering and guffawing as youd expect from old white ignorant uneducated incontinent racist xenophobic prejudiced brexiteers.
I was deeply disappointed that we didn’t see any representatives from our favourite ideology aka religion of peace. So come on junior investigative bbc journalists, find those happy inspirational feelgood doggy companion stories. Maybe we’ll get Mullahs Muts next year – hey thats got a ring to it.
Anyway, we had lots of fun playing PC diversity bullsh!t bingo, obligatory lesbian tick, homosexual risque comic tick, paralympian tick, dual heritage aspirant yoof dog reporter tick. And then the adverts, mixed race couple with 2.4 dual heritage children tick. Ticked all the boxes so whats not to love.
In future lets just have the dogs in all their enriching vibrant diversity of sizes colours, shapes and natures, and a bit less of the enrichment, vibrancy, diversity, and virtue signalling clap trap from the presenters.

    • Fedup2 says:

Forgive me as I am a Christian and therefore an enemy of Islam – but don’t they see dogs as an unclean enemy or similar ? So shouldnt Crufts be banned completely ? As well as soopermarket isles full of doggy food ? Maybe kfc and warburton should do some kind of sponsorship for killing off crufts ..

BBC appeals to UN over ‘collective punishment’ of its journalists by Iran

British broadcaster the BBC said on Monday it was appealing to the United Nations to protect its journalists in Iran after it said persecution and harassment by the Iranian authorities escalated in 2017.

“The BBC is taking the unprecedented step of appealing to the United Nations because our own attempts to persuade the Iranian authorities to end their harassment have been completely ignored,” BBC Director General Tony Hall said in a statement.

“In fact, during the past nine years, the collective punishment of BBC Persian Service journalists and their families has worsened.”
Britain’s foreign secretary Boris Johnson said in December he had raised “the official harassment of journalists working for BBC Persian and their families inside Iran” with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif when he visited Tehran.

Just remember your TV tax is paying for this.

    • Doublethinker says:

Personally I regard the BBC as an enemy of Britain and a highly dangerous one at that. If people chose to work for the BBC then as far as I am concerned they become enemy combatants. If they are casualties in some other war of words well I don’t much care.

    • Alicia Sinclair says:

If the word gets around that working for the BBC might one day count against you-maybe get you suspected of being a traitor-then all to the good.
As for this Salisbury stuff-does nobody at the top end of things not have some respect for any country who doesn`t like its spies getting clean away with what they did?
Just because WE give then sex changes, jobs in the media and loads of free lovin`-doesn`t mean that other, more patriotic and aware nations think this “normal”.
Never used to be-they used to get hanged, or worse.

  40. Fedup2 says:

Al Beeb covered the speech by the current prime minister on the Salisbury incident and then showed lots of MPs trying to be grave and ‘do a Churchill’ .

Quite funny really because in the end Blighty won’t do anything because it can’t . I don’t know what the likes of toady is saying about this as I have stopped listening .

The queer labour MP- Chris Bryant – called for the banning of RT – which I have predicted here in the past would be closed – —which must have made other beeboid queers cum in their leather pants.

The beeboids on expense accounts must be quivering at the thought of not going to the the World Cup of soccer ball in three months time. We will be blessed by the absence of Claire balding and her girl friends commenting on boys and girls footy socka.

6pm ITV Calendar local news 2 minutes of furrowed browed coverage of the “Punish A Muslim Day”letter
… and hype from Naz Shah “worse than hatecrime”
..I supect it was knocked up by some school kids or a false flag by Antifa.
The item avoiding discussing the details screenshot ..the postmark is Sheffield.
The language does seem like a FarRight activist would use
“10 points” for “Verbally abuse a Muslim” etc.

I expect BBC Look North will do a similar item.
Twitter is full of people using a hashtag #PROTECTaMuslimDay #Protect_A_Muslim_Day

I wonder what Corbyns elitist friends at the BBC are thinking now after their beloved leaders shameful display in the commons today!?

  43. StewGreen says:

    Islam Prog dropped
8pm Channel 4 TV schedules show “Who Speaks for British Muslims?”
but that has been changed to
“Undercover: Who’s Policing Your Bank? ”

  44. Fedup2 says:

This ain’t really about bias but you have to wonder – what would any other nation do about having a couple of Russians /foreigners done away with by another state.

Apart from giving them back with interest – such as killing a couple of Russian ambassadors and their families what else is to be done ?

Money sanctions don’t mean anything to Russia and other countries such as the cunt French as they will take advantage of our sanctions – as will the dirty kraut . Al Beeb won’t cover this as an issue as it affect s the view on Brexit

The chief constable of Wiltshire is due for sacking for thinking the carrot crunchers thought they could deal with a bio attack in their jurisdiction .he probably thought the safer neighbourhoods team could have dealt with it without giving out too many parking fucking tickets .

    Maxi – I know ‘you’re a disgrace fedup’

  45. Fedup2 says:

Some diverse primate gets 10 and a half years for wandering around our diversely enriched capital spraying “ one shot” acid at people and gets 10and a bit years . A pissed up lost Welshman gets 23 years for finding an evil place like Finsbury Park mosque . Who controls the criminal justice system ?

  46. davylars says:

BBC look north taking the moral high ground again this evening and sticking their beaks into where it is not needed
A Family from Durham have been told that their visa period was breached and to be deported.
They have lived here for 11 years, but spent too much time abroad.
Working for a humanitarian project in Mexico with the families called the ‘disappeared.’
Okay. It is a just cause, but they are educated professionals and therefore I am sure they were fully aware of the UK rules, or stupidly ignored them hence the current situation.
They are being thrown out because of time spent in Mexico. They have not had 5 continuous years in the UK and had gone beyond the 180 days allowance.
I do have some sympathy, but the rules are in place and must be adhered to, or there will be consequences.
However the reporter goes on to say there are risks for their safety if they return
But wait , didn’t Trump get castigated by the BBC for saying Mexico is full of drug dealers criminals and rapists?
Funny how it appears that the BBC now agree with him…

  47. Foscari says:

The Londonistan programme this evening surpassed itself
on the depths it has already reached. In both the Scooter Acid
attacks by Derryck John and the Parsons Green tube terrorist,
Ahmed Hassan. The BBC were apologists for both the scum
We were told that the authorities including the Metropolitan
police let down a disturbed John. And that Ahmed Hassan
hated the Americans which gave him reason to try and blow
    up Londoners on the underground.
I know that Riz Lateef , Assad Ahmed and the rest of the
presenters and reporters are supposed to just act as parrots
and do the bidding of their Fifth Columnist editors, sub editors
and researchers. But surely one or two of them know they are
being duped. Or maybe not. They are all part of this TV disgrace
    of a biased programme.

    • Alicia Sinclair says:

Thought it was the “British” that young Mr Hassan hated. Something about us bombing his parents house in Syria being thrown out there by his duty solicitor.
That was Red Button at 3pm.
Guess it`s now expanded to America who got his goat(oo er). And, as ever the perennial Muslim excuse about hating Israel…and Jews…and anyone really.
Imagine he confused Parsons Green with Golders Green, so that`ll be the fault of the Met or TfL.

All the above applies to Labour, but they don`t go by Tube.
