Mrs May does a speech about what we can  expect from Brexit on Friday and it’s ‘hard facts for both sides’ says the BBC.  Hmmm…just plain common sense and a realistic view of what the outcome of negotiations might be?  Yeahhh…and anyone with an ounce of common sense and no axe to grind could have told the BBC that a year ago.  Which raises the question as to why the BBC for the last year  has  been giving us a very one-sided and alarmist view of what is happening, not only giving us the Brussels view as the ‘gold standard’ that Britain must aspire to reach but painted an extremely negative view of the British position, expectations and hopes…one example is the EU’s constant mocking of British negotiations as ‘cherry-picking’ not to mention the sneering ‘you can’t have your cake and eat it’….both of which the BBC adopted as their starting point when discussing the British approach…which the BBC portrayed as chaotic, weak and wildly over-expectant.   The BBC seemed to prefer we just rolled over and accepted whatever the EU could dream up to humiliate us.  Perhaps if the BBC spent less time pandering to EU fanatical Remainders and spreading EU propaganda we could have had a realistic view of Brexit from the start from our national broadcaster which would have allowed May to establish her position months ago, rein in the Remainder pro-EU ‘stay-behind’ subversives and present a united, strong and coherent position in negotiations…instead of which the BBC has constantly fed the Remainder’s dream of a second referendum and the reversal of Brexit which has also given the EU the idea that this might happen and therefore they do not need to negotiate seriously.   Thanks BBC for the backstabbing.

10 pm news BBC1 usual film from Syria with children shock in their eyes. But Peter Hitchens in the Sunday Mail was writing to say that Syrian footage film is not from BBC cameramen but unverified film taken by the rebels themselves. But the BBC just keep on doing it without apology.

If you look carefully at the photos, those of us with an eye for such things cannot help but think that they look a teeny bit staged. “Is that make-up I see before me?”

It would be really great if the BBC published for all to see, all the written attempts that they have made to get their journalists into Syria with Government accreditation and perhaps embedded within the Syrian Army. They could also publish the refusals they then received from President Assad and we could then accept third-party material they display and broadcast on that basis.

“What do you mean, Lord Hall, you didn’t think it was worth trying? You knew in advance you would be refused? What, the BBC? Premier world news organisation? Refused by President Assad from a small country like Syria, previously friendly with and to the UK?”

Put up, BBC, or shut up.

As for the Syrian children, I hope that they are not missing school for these propaganda reports probably filmed in the Salford BBC studios. They may have a future as child actors and models, but their education should not be disrupted. As for the scenes of destruction – a few changes to the Doctor Who studios and we have Syria. Sorry folks, I don’t buy this Syria shit and ongoing propaganda for the rebels.

Aleppo has gone down the memory hole, they got exposed, so it never happened. Surely we would all now like to see what life is like in Aleppo today and if it is recovering or just filling up with mass graves of heroic “moderate” rebels

So now on to a new Aleppo exactly the same propaganda same tactics same liars

TWatO informs me that President Assad has relented.

            What?

            Yes.

Jeremy Bowen is in Damascus. Now ISIS and the hundred or so other rebel groups are no longer able to routinely shell or bomb the Syrian Army in their capital.

Me, cynical? Well, I suppose his extra salary as a non-woman means that Jeremy must justify the premium he is rightly paid (in my view) as Middle East Editor for the BBC. Yes, Carrie. China may be a long way away but it is nowhere near as dangerous as the Middle East.

Even better. President Assad has called the BBC liars. Well, no. Actually he is more reasonably suggests broadcasters in the west are not telling the truth about the Syria conflict. The same message that I get from a friend who has a close relative now living in Damascus. The same message I have been receiving within months of the start of the Syrian war.

We live nearly two decades into the 21st century. Propaganda was invented around one hundred years ago. Charities and NGOs like the UN have been recently shown to be somewhat shaky on the integrity front.

Is it too much to believe that any account of suffering whether in Rakhine province or Syria or elsewhere might just possibly be staged to extract more money from innocent taxpayers and charity donors in the west via charities and NGOs? And that such accounts need to be scrupulously cross-checked by the BBC or any other news broadcaster.

Mark Mardell did not get to rubbish Brexit today during part of TWT, probably because he was on a ‘jolly’ in Italy. (BBC R4 1-1.30pm)

Instead the BBC allowed Anand Menon to do it for a whole half hour. ‘Professor Menon heads the award-winning think tank The UK in a Changing Europe.’, I am informed by the Beeb. Hmmn, that’s kinda definite: we must be staying in.

Unfortunately for the Prof and the BBC, if you listen carefully to what some of the contributors to the programme revealed, you discover that Brexit is highly likely to reduce unemployment in the UK AND in the EU. Brexit might just be good for a UK that is OUT of the EU and very much for the EU, too, as it tries to bring down massive unemployment, particularly among the young, in some of its member States.

The Prof did not actually mention that. No. He just laid out the mountain of difficulties for us as we leave and after we have left.

All these self-appointed ‘community leaders’ mouthing off on their behalf when surely we are all individuals and nobody should speak for an entire ‘community.’

Getting a promotion over a less diverse individual who is more experienced and needs the money more just because of the colour of your skin?

The whole ‘anti racism’ movement is founded on the exact same principles as the original racism we agreed was evil, namely that the colour of your skin matters more than the content of your character. It will all end in tears as indeed it already has.

Admittedly it was Sky, this morning I really despaired what this country has descended to. Two black news anchors – no worries with that, but then there was a discussion on a new movement (yet another) on diversity. This ‘action’ group were changing movie posters on social media from the starring white celebrity and replacing it with a black face. It showed De Caprio and Winslett on the Titanic poster erased and replaced with black characters. Others were equally defaced, and according to the little team of 3 activists in the studio (one black/one mixed race/one white) , this show of diversity had gone worldwide – their point was to show that BAME are not considered for acting roles in the same way that whites are. This record is never going to change is it, and their cause will have the opposite effect if they keep banging on about it.

      Brissles,

Just seen this on the BBC website, I presume it’s the same story:
      http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-43270397

      Part of the report says:
“A teenager has spoken of his surprise at seeing his own face on a movie poster at a bus stop in south London.
Shiden Tekle . . . had created the image as part of a project highlighting the lack of black roles in the media but said “they were only supposed to go online”.
Guerrilla advertisers had, unbeknownst to him, placed them around Brixton.”
Funny thing is, if you click on the link at the bottom of the story, ‘Black kids can be wizards too,’ you get a Radio 5 Live video which tells you the posters were intended to go on buses in Brixton. A fib? A change of plan?
Lots of media coverage just for a bunch of students! They belong to a group called The Advocacy Academy (another link) – Lottery and Comic Relief funded.

As you say Brissles, this record is never going to change, and indeed, a few minutes of searching shows that this rather obvious concept has been done before:

Yep, that’s the one. Sadly the concept of ‘not being good enough’ never enters their minds, so pretending they’re Harry Potter or Bridget Jones I suppose fulfils a dream for them.

There are some wonderful black actors/actresses about – my current favourite is Octavia Spencer, winning awards for The Help, and giving a great performance in Hidden Figures. According to her cv she is also dyslexic like many other good thespians, if you’re talented you’ll make it, whatever your colour. Defacing film posters to make a point is puerile.

… the groom/rape gang is way way way over the line .

Sexual relationships are a bit of a game and cultures vary, but if one person has a lot of power over the other ..say a grown man against a teenager , then it’s not as bad as violent rape, but it still akin to rape and pretty bad .

Is there not the slightest possibility that some of these ‘couch women’ saw getting a job by these means as a win for their own sexual powers?

A few years ago there was a documentary that included a young female estate agent in London. She was very proud of the fact that illegal parking was a daily activity for her, ‘part of the job’, but that she never got ticketed! Clearly she was exploiting her sexual power. My thought was that she had used up all ‘credits’ that parking wardens might be prepared to give the genuine stranger desperately short of time to find parking.
But that is ‘equality’, we want to be seen as ‘powerful’ but equally we want to be seen as victims.

Italian election results show that the 5 star movement will be the largest single party at about 31% , with the right anti immigration coalition the largest overall block at about 37% The social democrats have sunk to about 22%.
We can expect a tremendous onslaught from the EU and the rest of the Globalist world to try and force the Italians to form a government that doesn’t deport immigrants and doesn’t rock the EU boat too much. No doubt all sorts of overtures will be made to the 5 starists to join with the social democrats to form a ‘sensible’ government . Alternatively they will try and peel Forza Italia away from the right coalition and get them to work with the 5 starists . Either way the 5 starists have the EU over a barrel , I hope they use their power wisely to get at least an end to the EU taxi service and force through the deportation of as many invaders as possible. But the 5 starists don’t seem anti immigration enough to put high on their list of priorities.

It is an immigration crisis. The BBC laughably says it is a source you can trust. But certain crucial questions are off-limits to them: immigration, regressive attitudes of certain cultures and countless other examples of wrongthink. The strait jacket of political correctness renders them institutionally incapable of honesty, as political correctness is essentially a war against reality. Things are wrong or right, not ‘politically right’ but actually wrong. Truth is an absolute.

I listened to an analysis, at the weekend, by one of the current administration’s advisers, about the suggested increases in the costs of things for Americans; as a result of a tariff of 10% on aluminium imports.
“How much would a six-pack of beer go up? 1 cent.
How much would a new car? $45.00
How much more would a $300,000,000 Dreamliner passenger jet cost to make? $20,000.”
“It is easy to quantify what such increases will be, you calculate the amount of aluminium in the product and add the tariff”
“The US aluminium industry only supplies 10% of the domestic demand for it.”

The BBC is silent about the fact that the EU placed a 70% tariff on Chinese steel to protect steel production in Italy and other customs union countries. They are also silent about the fact that the US has a $500 billion deficit with the rest of the world, caused by unfair trade practices and dumping, and has been brought to that dire state by both Democratic and Republican presidents since Clinton.

‘Today’ watch: Compare and contrast Humphrey’s shouty and rather aggressive interview with Javid (Cons.), full of interruptions, about the government’s rather radical moves in respect of house building, and the quiet, gentle ‘chat’ with Healey (Lab.) supposedly about the Labour Party’s policies are on housing. In fact, Humphreys allowed Healey to talk in generalities, and to criticise the Conservatives, whilst hardly anything was said about Labour policies. So, what’s new? We are not surprised.

Having had quite a few visits to Italy recently the disgruntlement in the populace and noticeably the younger generations is there for all to see and hear. Notice how the BBC compares the parties in a “where they stand” table listing Migration, Europe and Economy. I think it’s fair enough that the BBC made a lot of this year’s Oscars. After all this is the last year that the awards will feature beautiful actresses. From now on only unattractive actresses will be given roles in Hollywood films – to prove that the producers didn’t get up to anything they shouldn’t involving a casting couch.

Whatever happened to the tradition of aspiring actresses marking their promotional pictures “PRR”; shorthand for “Producers Rights Respected”.

I see all the current angst as the revenge of the ugly actresses who didn’t get an invitation to the casting couch.

I complained to the BBC over a week ago about an article called Melania Trump mocked for ‘positive social media’ speech. In the so-called news article was 4 tweets with about 5 to 15 likes (now increased to barely 50-100 likes even with the BBC taxpayer funded links back to Twitter) each mocking her and the BBC made this out to be factual news.
    Original article:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-43211286

The BBC reply to my complaint about being biased and made up news based on a few barely liked tweets:
The aim of this article was to report on Melania Trump’s speech about the challenges faced by children, but also to report on the ‘ironic’ tweets mocking her comments.
Errr….no! Hardly a report with a title like that.

Having reviewed the article, we not only showed tweets from those who mocked her speech, but also from a supporter of her speech who posted her appreciation that ‘someone from the Trump admin. speaks out about this-good social media habits.’
Oh OK then, that removes all bias from the title and rest of the report then!

The inclusion of the fifth tweet was to provide background on how Mrs Trump has been previously ‘ridiculed for attempting to highlight the issues of online safety and ethics.’
So it’s irrelevant as I said in my complaint.

It’s also worth highlighting, that since the article was published, we’ve updated the status of the featured tweets, in that the number of likes for them has increased.
Yeah right. Even with post editing after my complaint the likes are now up to 50 to 100 likes. What percentage of the worlds population is mocking Mrs Trump now?

The article therefore provides both sides to this story, and allows readers to make up their own minds.
So basically you are telling me to go fcuk myself?

Has anyone here had a reply to a complaint where the BBC have said “after investigation we admit the article was biased and will make improvements to avoid this in future” ? Or are all the replies “we are perfect and shall carry on as before”?

i.e. It makes sense when you realise they don’t care about helping oppressed people. They care about self-image and social status which determines the causes they select and positions they take, based on identity.

They will favour “underdogs” even when those dogs are rabid. They don’t care about the 300k homeless in Britain because most are men, for instance. But they do/would/did care about housing the several hundred illegal in Calais camps instead.
