The Right Stuff

The six o’clock pips sound across the nation. The red lights flash and the studio blinks to life and the familiar old juices stir. Three hours of live broadcasting lie ahead with an audience of millions leaning on our every word. Three hours in which to wield the simple sword of truth and the trusty shield of British fair play. Three hours to educate the audience with stuff they didn’t even know they wanted to know and to enrich the democratic process by giving them information they will store away, the better to make a wise choice at the ballot box when next called upon.

How we miss Jim Naughtie…don’t we?  Having listened to him[08:15] give the Governor of California, Jerry Brown, complete free range to malign and smear Trump you have to think not so much.

Brown, a Democrat of course, laid into Trump on the usual subjects with Naughtie feeding him the right cues for the next slander.  It was a shameful piece of ‘journalism’ that should embarrass any of the Today presenters who have to persuade us that they are worth listening to, that they will bring us the truth, unvarnished and impartial.  So-called interviews like this one discredit the programme and undermine their integrity.

We’re in an age of darkness, Trump is immoral, maybe evil, he’s wrong about everything and he’s dangerous.

Trump, Brown tells us, has created a massive polarisation in politics [hmmmm…just as he made America misogynist?]…trouble is it is not Trump who has caused polarisation but the Left who have become ever more aggressive in their tactics trying to close down anyone who doesn’t agree with them and by adopting militant identity politics to further their own interests.

All this of course mirrored by the Left’s supporters in the media such as the BBC….Naughtie not raising a word of dissent to challenge Brown at all….it is the BBC  narrative that Trump is beyond the pale and unacceptable as a President and thus anything can be said about him however malicious, however wrong.

And note Naughtie’s use of the phrase ‘undocumented migrants’…..that is a very loaded and misleading term meant to ‘humanise’ illegal migrants and intended to make people feel more sympathetic towards them…highly political whereas the correct term, illegal migrant, is actually neutral as it merely describes what they are.  ‘Undocumented’ gives the impression that they have just forgotten their passport or it is some stupid bureaucratic cock-up that will get sorted out, they’re entitled to enter the US they just need the paperwork to ‘rubberstamp’ that…it’s in the post no doubt…no, they are entering a country illegally, taking jobs by undercutting wages, taking housing and school places, using up local resources and not paying taxes….of course the BBC doesn’t want you to think about the downsides to illegal immigration, never mind the exploitation of the migrants themselves by employers and criminals.

The Today show….becoming more of a joke everyday.

The interview with Governor Moonbeam must go down as one of the most scandalous in the history of the BBC, and absolute proof of its bias.

Naughtie never once interrupted or interjected, he never probed an answer he was given, he listened in respectful silence as if to his guru. This was because there was just nothing he could question Jerry Brown on, because he clearly agreed with every word he said. He is such a poor journalist that he simply could not find anything at all to press Brown on, or even to seek clarification. It was a travesty of what an interview with a politician is meant to be.

When the BBC is overthrown, I hope that this interview is preserved as an example of just how awful it had become.

Now over to Maxi for all that right wing bias he has been meaning to tell us about…

Today they lead with Twitter saying they will clearly identify in future whoever has paid for ads, after the Russians had a whopping 200 accounts during the election! No agenda there, obviously. That is their headline? Is that really the most important event to have happened in the last 24 hours?

The next two stories are Trump bashing, then a typically safe chat with a relative of Prince about his music. No doubt we will be treated to some report on an urgent need for more ‘diversity’ somewhere; or a manufactured, victimless ‘problem’ such as some kids not working hard enough at school, which unbelievably means they won’t be able to study at Cambridge. It’s odd because the Beeb’s favourite grime artist Stormzy is forever talking about working hard at school in his album Gang Signs and Oxbridge.

I switched from SKY news headlines to the BBC’s headlines at six last night. Sky led with the Jared Omara ( sort of ) story .
The BBC had clearly never heard of him!

Except Alan on the One Show on Monday evening . David Jason was reminiscing on some of his earliest shows
in the days before ” Big Brother” with their diversity and positive discrimination were in control of
everything we are allowed to see on the BBC.
Sir David talked about a sketch involving Abdul a DIRTY Sheik. I thought that the One Shows presenters were
going to feint in fright. Don’t expect to see David Jason too much on the BBC anymore.

Heard this interview but had never heard of the opinionated gasbag………I have ,of course heard plenty from the interviewing one.
What struck me is the amount of work he is still receiving from the fixed cost model bBC ( at our expense) when thinking
    he had been retired.

Assuming he was interviewing this rascal in California …..then who’s paying for that and the complete bias he was spewing forth?

Its high time him/Dimbelby/Simpson,Humphreys ( now there’s wind) and the rest of the gang should only be retained on a non payment basis.

The problem is these al beeb creatures will have sporned mini versions of themselves put through private schools on the taxpayers £ and now sitting in an albeeb office waiting for their ascendency to address the ignorant listeners .

For an outfit which screams about diversity – it is something that they all have the same champagne socialist outlook – and no doubt – tax efficient service companies .,

Absolutely damn right. The silent majority finally had a chance to have their say and the Left, who had had it all their own way through the truth-bending leftist press, TV and ‘social media’ got it right up them and boy, did they not like that. Their one world, open borders, multiculti, socialist safe space destroyed at the ballot box in one single blow. Next up for debate from the BBC and their Common Purpose/Momentum comrades: ‘Is democracy working?’ – you watch, it’ll happen.

California has declared itself, entirely unconstitutionally, a “sanctuary state”, open to unlimited illegal immigration. Californians have also suggested that they are seeking to secede from the United States, altogether. California’s economy is a basket case, despite Silicon Valley. Its public sector pension liabilities are far beyond merely “out of control”. Los Angeles councillors reward themselves very handsomely, while the city’s endemic problems get swept out of sight, but are never truly handled. The famous “drought”, widely attributed to “man-made” global warming, was man-made, all right, but nothing to do with the phantasm of “global warming”. Successive governors and legislatures in California have reduced America’s most fertile state as thoroughly as Mugabe has Zimbabwe. If rural California isn’t yet as scary as the Zimbabwean countryside, it’s getting that way.

So, let’s see: what does the Beebyanka make of this? Sanctuary state? Double plus! Uncontrolled immigration has been an absolute effing catastrophe for Germany and Sweden and, over a more generational timescale, for the United Kingdom and France, but the Beebyanka gives it a big, red thumbs-up. Beeboids never, ever explain why, but they invariably think immigration (any kind of immigration) is good and that replacing the existing population with another one is good, too.

So, how about the state of the economy, with that huge deficit? Ah, whatever! You have to be some kind of traditional conservative, to care about that stuff!

And why would secession be a problem? Oh, hang on… Is it Scottish independence, Catalonian independence, or British independence which is the model here? After all, Scottish independence is always great, for the Beeboids. Brussels isn’t keen on an independent Catalonia, so the Beebyanka isn’t keen, either, but most Beeboids have this vague notion of having fought in the Spanish Civil War, during a previous life, so are a bit confused about Catalonia. British freedom, on the other hand, is double plus bad, with no exceptions, at all.

California’s governing elite, like any other leftist bunch of ideology-driven technocrats, disregard inconvenient historical facts:

California’s current drought is being billed as the driest period in the state’s recorded rainfall history. But scientists who study the West’s long-term climate patterns say the state has been parched for much longer stretches before that 163-year historical period began.

And they worry that the “megadroughts” typical of California’s earlier history could come again.

Through studies of tree rings, sediment and other natural evidence, researchers have documented multiple droughts in California that lasted 10 or 20 years in a row during the past 1,000 years — compared to the mere three-year duration of the current dry spell. The two most severe megadroughts make the Dust Bowl of the 1930s look tame: a 240-year-long drought that started in 850 and, 50 years after the conclusion of that one, another that stretched at least 180 years.

      http://www.mercurynews.com/2014/01/25/california-drought-past-dry-periods-have-lasted-more-than-200-years-scientists-say/

And the whole premise of uncontrolled immigration surely must be a temptation for Hollywood’s finest to concoct yet another of their dystopian visions of the future – something along the lines of bloodthirsty Mexican hordes battling for supremacy against tens of thousands of barbaric Islamists whilst the peaceful, settled Californians flee for their lives, becoming the new refugees?

      No? Thought not.
