Anthem for Doomed Youth

Who knew the sinister and malignant Vince Cable was in Zulu.

To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Over the centuries the British have saved Europe from the ravages of Napoleon, the Prussians, Hitler and his Nazis, and the Soviet tank armies poised to storm across Europe.  Liberty, freedom of speech and democracy are not an accident of history, they came at the point of a bayonet with some guts behind it.  The likes of Vince Cable betray all who went before to defend those values with their lives.  He breaks The Faith, extinguishes that Torch that was handed on. A man who fought in World War II, who had his leg blown off by a German tank shell, who was then shot as he was medevaced from the battlefield on a stretcher…is Cable saying he is not entitled to vote because he’s ‘old’?

It is a remarkable thing that someone so illiberal and so undemocratic as Vince Cable should be leader, by dint that no one else wanted the job, of the Liberal Democratic party.  A man who thinks only people who think like him should be allowed to vote.  A man who is fully prepared to tell the grandest of lies, to bend the truth out of all recognition, in order to gull people into voting his way.  A man whose use of violent, intemperate language that seeks to demonise and scapegoat a whole class of voters is nothing short of ‘hate speech’ designed to whip up anger, discontent and a backlash against that group.  The LibDems, if they were wise, should immediately remove him from the leadership role.  The police should certainly step in and investigate Cable for his reckless incitement and his wild claims against Brexit voters, especially in light of the massive intimidation, bullying and threats of violence that Leave voters and politicians are forced to suffer and endure from Remain activists…unrecognised by the BBC of course.

It will be interesting to see how the BBC reacts to Cable’s madness as he rages about McCarthyism, Brexit thought-crime and Brexit Jihadis and the Old ‘shafting the young’.  As far as I remember that was only on BBC premises by a BBC employee.

Cable seems to want you to believe that Brexit was only voted for by the over 65’s, there may be a growing number of older people but I hadn’t realised there were 17.4 million over 65.  And even if that had been true that’s what’s called Democracy Vincent.  You cannot pick and choose those who you want to allow to vote.

So far the BBC has not treated us to one of its interpretations or analyses of his ramblings….just this abridged collection of his worst anti-Brexit comments as is the BBC way so that we get the full-on concentrated bile of his words so that we can fully understand the true horror and folly of Brexit.  No doubt the BBC will be smoothing things out for him tomorrow on the Today show…’maybe he’s a bit overstating things but essentially he’s right isn’t he children?’  The same ploy the BBC used to downplay Project fear’s maddest and wildest alarmism.

Battle on Brexiteers….the odds are stacked against you, the game rigged, the goal-posts constantly moved…but eventually they will have to salute you and your victory.

    Didn’t even realise he was the ‘leader’!

    But there again, looking at a Wiki page, it was around my birthday, and there were far more important things to think about than socks, sandals and some sort of orange telephone box for meetings…

    That could describe Clegg, Farron or Cable.

    Cable is the finacial genius that brought down Northern Rock. There are can be few banks that could cope with all their customers pulling their money out and it was Cable that encouraged that to show how clever he was. Actually he is rather like the BBC, shout ‘doomed’ long enough and confidence will be destroyed and ‘doom’ created where none existed before.

      And that really did happen to Equitable life also, didn’t it.

      Disgraceful Labour unobservables breaking faith with institutions into which so many citizens paid their wages.

      I did, and am still waiting for recompense.

      These small-minded political parasites need to believe that they’ll be brought to book soon. They truly stuffed my pension to pay for their blubbery town hall fat cats, and the assholes in the Kent County Council, and will never ever be forgiven for their mendacity.

      Well, maybe one day…

      Just one day.

        The issue is though that he influences a disproportionate number of pygmies in the Lords. His language could serve to wake them up and possibly empower them.

        That attitude is typical of the Limp-dim do not know why they are not honest, they are not liberal or democratic in any way, shape or form. They are to be trusted in any way whatsoever. Look at the mess they made when in coalition with Camoron, they went on with the greatest british f/up in history,and fouled up our energy system in one go. As it was clearly a fraudulent act and against the interests of both Country and the People they should all do gaol time.

    At the end of the day given the ratings (and votes) for the Liberal Democrats these days I wouldn’t lose any sleep over this nasty little old man. No one, outside of the BBC, is in the least interested in what he has to say, and let’s be honest not many people have much interest in what the BBC have to say these days either, quickly becoming totally irrelevant.

    Napoleon , Puff the Magic Dragon , an intelligent Liberal Democrat and Father Christmas were sitting on a bench in a seaside town . Who was eating an ice cream ?

    It must be Napoleon , as all the others are mythical creatures .

    How can you tell the LibDim driver on a motorway ?

    He’s the one driving on the hard shoulder but thinks he’s taking a middle of the road way .

    It seems the LibDims are led by OAPs then adolescents . Then back to OAPS .

    A bit like the BBC , an organisation that’s had its day trying to appeal to youth .

      The Libdems were the party with the policy of Remain.
      Remind me, just how many seats did they get in the last general election?
      Says it all really doesn’t it.

      BTW Zulu, an excellent film Alan, although its over 50 years old . British school kids should be shown it .
      There were a couple of Taffs there in that epic battle .

    Taffman ,
    Vince Cable is older than Zulu film . He probably thinks Men of Harlech is a town in Croatia , and the redcoats shouldn’t be allowed to vote because they didn’t go to university . The Taffs at Rorkes Drift outnumber the LibDims in Parliament ~ remember the Jones addressing each other by their number ? The LibDim MPs could still do it in binary .

    “The old have comprehensively shafted the young,” added Sir Vince. “And the old have had the last word about Brexit, imposing a world view coloured by nostalgia for an imperial past on a younger generation much more comfortable with modern Europe.”

    Yes well the old like him have certainly shafted the young over the years and left them with the bill.Ive done my bit working 40 years. And still paying tax in retirement .I worked hard for everything and saved to get my home with my hubby.I have helped my children financially because I have brought them up as decent human beings not fixated on fame and money.They don’t rely on the state for cash,unlike VInce Cable.

    As for calling us Jihadis ,the man is clearly showing signs of dementia .He got the leadership by default .No one else wanted to lead his crappy hideously white party.

    ‘No More Boys and Girls’

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/proginfo/2017/33/no-more-boys-and-girls

    The BBC run a trailer for this documentary this morning. As if the misandrist sentiment were not sinister and nauseating enough, the show teaser puts forward the ridiculous question: can children be propagandised? Yes of course they bloodywell can be propagandised!

      Won`t hold my breath though-what kind of parent would LET their kids do this anyway?
      The BBC…primary school age kids, teaching unions and access to BBC micros?
      What can go wrong?
      Hope to get a shift in at the Harold Shipman Care Home, once they decide to get their fingers off the nub of youth and into the wrinkly wobbly bits of the old folk.

    The one thing I know about the Liberals is that they are anything but:
    David Ward sacked for Anti-Semitism
    Ashuk Ahmed suspended for Anti-Semitism
    Jenny Tonge sacked (time and time again) for…Anti-Semtism
    In 2010 (then) Liberal Democrat deputy-leader Simon Hughes and (ten) Liberal Democrat Junior Minister Andrew Stunell spoke at the ‘Global Peace and Unity’ conference, an annual Muslim Brotherhood event in the UK filled with overtly anti-Jewish hate preachers.
    Lord Phillips of Sudbury,has no problem, describing Israeli settlers as “colonists” and darkly speaks of the “well-organised Jewish lobby.”
    In 2009 Nick Clegg, wrote that, “We must stop arming Israel…[The Prime Minister] must condemn unambiguously Israel’s tactics.”
    In 2011, Baroness Falkner, a Liberal Democrat peer and Foreign Affairs spokesperson, travelled to Gaza to meet with leaders from Hamas,

    There are plenty more. But my best account of a liberal D racist must go to Councillor Shirley Brown, the first black Liberal Democrat elected to Bristol city council, who called Jay Jethwa (Indian Tory councillor) a coconut for not subscribing to her views of black victim-hood. But the best part of this champion against slavery in the British Isles. She didn’t even live in the UK, but rather lived in the US.

    1. Israel became a state in 1312 B.C., two millennia before Islam;

    2. Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves “Palestinians” in 1967, two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood;

    3. After conquering the land in 1272 B.C., Jews rules it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years;

    4. The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 A.D. lasted just 22 years;

    5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Jewish capital. It was never the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (east) Jerusalem was not made the capital, and no Arab leader came to visit it;

    6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the bible, but not once is it mentioned in the Koran.

    7. King David founded Jerusalem; Mohammad never set foot in it;

      Yes, Vesnadog, but those are just facts. How does the situation make you feel?

      • vesnadog says:

        If you mean the situation in Israel now!? Then I mourn for every Jew who is murdered by a Muslim because Islam holds no right to Jerusalem! But If as the writers of the Qur’an claim that it was Ishmael who was offered up for sacrifice by Abraham and NOT Isaac then I believe Islam would have a genuine reason to – for want of a better word – own Jerusalem!

        Here’s a dare! Go and ask any Muslim scholar this simple question: why does Islam (the religion of truth) omit Isaac for Ishmael in (Gen 22:2)? There can only be one answer – a clear case of lying. If you happen to be a Muslim why don’t you go and check it out!

        The situation in Israel just now makes me frustrated that the MSM does not inform the public of the above facts! Instead what do we see! we see the BBC is the mouthpiece for Islam!

          Vesna,

          The BBC is institutionally anti-semitic and love muslims , especially Arabs. Beeboids are too stupid to know the history. But it would make no difference as their opinion is based on religious and racial prejudice. The same applies to the Labour and Lib Dem parties .

        Muhammad “dared to dream” of Jerusalem so he says in fables.
        Which-in Beebworld -makes his the only true claim on Israel.
        Israel was there well before the spurious destabilising nonsense that is spouted by the Transjordan Muslims…no claim to Israel whatsover. They`re Jordanians…but it suits the Muslims to keep rubbing salt into their self-inflicted wounds and defeats.
        Israel will still be there long after Islam has been dealt with in that area.

    Seems from here, that not many sensible citizens think that Vince Cable has much of a presence in the UK.

    Marvellous. He’s supposed to be a ‘businessman’, but I’ve never even heard a single quote from him which remotely understands what real businessmen do to make a life for their families and friends.

    Silly old fool. Just another Libdem, (don’t forget that half of them are still labour), spouting things he really doesn’t understand because he’s just a silly old fool, besmirched in the money he gets from the taxpayer.

    Useless waste of bbbC space, which is why they love him.
