START THE WEEK OPEN THREAD…. By David Vance | July 3, 2017 - 7:19 am |July 5, 2017 BBC bias Here we go, a brand NEW Open Thread to start the week. This is where you detail the egregious bias from the anti-British BBC. Bookmark the permalink.
Apologies if covered elsewhere.
It’s not often we appreciate The Independent on this site but here is a story which I cannot find being covered by the bBBC. I simply cannot imagine why not.
Yep, it seems that those socialist paragons of virtue down at Glastonbury have…..errrrrr……..just laid off 600 workers they had employed on zero hours contracts after only two days work.
Where’s Jeremy when you need him?
I suppose all the snowflakes are back in mummy and daddy’s large detached house enjoying the summer and too tired to campaign.
Nadiya Hussain to present The Hajj for BBC One – pilgrims converge on Mecca for one of the world’s largest single gathering of people [14.05.2017] .
This is great as long as the crew going with Nadiya are as diverse as it gets – Muslims, Jews, Christians, Gays, Lesbians, Transgenders. This is a great time to celebrate diversity…
“Nadiya’s popularity has demonstrated how the vast majority of people in Britain embrace diversity and inclusivity , and are certainly not going to dismiss her based on religion, race or attire.(over to the Muslim Mecca to reciprocate and return the favour)”
– Remona Aly / Guardian / 8 October 2015
The BBC executives for BBC can go as well, that would be interesting …
Charlotte Moore, Director of Content – Salary: £325,000
Thomas McDonald, Head of Commissioning – Salary: £160,000
THE GREATEST EVENT ON EARTH – TopHat.tv
“…exploration of the exclusively Muslim city of Mecca.”
Is there no limit to this woman’s talents ? I wonder if she will point out that they triple the prices of accommodation and food during happy old Haj time ?
er, talent ??? she managed to fill in an application form (in English) to appear on a tv show, and that was it. From then on her ‘rise’ was certainly not in her culinary skills but tv producers wetting their knickers at this diversity manna from heaven !
The words “talent” and “TV” should hardly ever appear in the same sentence in 2017, in my opinion.
Nadiya Hussain: Hosting Big Family Cooking Showdown, (Al BBCs new “bake off” rival spinner)
Nadiya Hussain: The Hajj
Nadiya Hussain: The Junior Bake Off judge
Nadiya Hussain: Chronicles of Nadiya. series
Nadiya Hussain: Radio Christmas Special
Nadiya Hussain: Her Book deal, Bake Me a Story
Nadiya Hussain: The One Show Special
Nadiya Hussain: Upcoming show Brit cooking travel show
“So, in October, BBC Two announced it would air new food-based series The Big Family Cooking Showdown – and it’s now been confirmed it will star former Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain”
… Surprised NOT, talk about flogging the dead horse
“This isn’t the first BBC programme Nadiya will have appeared in since Bake Off”
(Do you seriously think anyone, Anyone … ANYONE will not have noticed!)
“She’s already fronted a two-part documentary and will also star in an eight-part series about British food”.
… and the R4 Christmas Special and the One Show etc, etc.
She didn t even deserve the Bake Off win, baked a crap cake for the Queen,
and has been systematically plastered all over the Al BBC ever bloody since.
Its not for me that she is muslim, but, for the Al BBC that s ALL, its about
… it can t be about the best baker or most personable.
There have been Bake Off winners that are simply brilliant, lovely warm and have struggled to get the media they deserve, virtually zero.
The bloody airtime the PR, the media exposure, the book, the radio etc, etc is unwarranted, and blatantly biased over all the other winners.
Just think, how much has the Al BBC spent on this overt circus?
Surprise Surprise …
Bake Off’s Nadiya Hussain wants to stay with the BBC … no sh-t Sherlock!
It would be interesting to know how much money she has made and where it has gone. Hope none of it is funding terrorism !
I suppose its easier to get your tongue around Nadiya Hussain than it is …Saliha Mahmood-Ahmed, this year’s Masterchef winner ! or the PR blitz hasn’t begun on her yet !!
I wonder if they will be talking about how a city of usually 2 million bans non muslims from entering and even has road signs to divert non muslims around the city.
Remarkable how quiet the MSM are about this kind of ban but are happy to lose their shit on any ban that might impact on muslims.
“Nadiya’s Popularity” ???? Where do they get that from? She’s only popular at the BBC and with like-“minded” people for reasons I can’t begin to comprehend!
Grant – “Is there no limit to this woman’s talents ?”. I would ask if there is no beginning to them.
Amazing that all the people who won the competition before her and all those after between them must have had less than 10% of the publicity given to her. It smacks of overt racism on the BBC’s part to push this “culinary genius” where they had basically ignored the others almost completely. I have to admit I didn’t watch the cooking show she won but I saw the leaning tower of sponge that the Queen was obliged to sample – it didn’t look structurally safe let alone appetising.
This is the point, I didn’t see the programme but I know all about her and none of the other winners. I’ll bet there’s a few who now wish they’d slapped something on their head.
Marky – I’m sure al Beeb will give their Meccafon a bit more coverage that the 19 year old Muslim animal who was convicted of plotting to carry out a Manchester – style suicide bombing on an Elton John concert . It was planned the 9/11 anniversary.
Pity the Americans couldn’t have got him for death penalty purposes. Perhaps as an enemy of this country he might do us a favour and top himself in prison .
The next time al Beeb lays into the security services in Blighty remember they stopped this one. More to come of course. Lights the candles, buy the flowers, our thoughts are with them etc etc
Alas the poor Phil Shiner has been taken out of the game for the Fascist Britain hating left, so the BBC clearly feels that it needs to fill that gap in attacking the British military. Yesterdays newsnight carried allegations that the SAS shot unarmed prisoners in Afghanistan.
Not content to leave the allegations there, the BBC has used this it almost every news program it’s broadcast.
We can only hope that one day there is an invasion and as the broadcasters are normally the first target, that there is no one prepared to defend them.
Only then while they are dying might they realise what they have been doing is wrong – but even then probably not !
Excellent that al Beeb is choosing to actively undermine the morale of armed forces and damaging national security so soon after London Bridge and Manchester. As for afghee – I wonder what al Beeb would have said if the yanks had nuked it after 9/11 as I’m sure that was an option.
INCEST ON ALBEEB!
Just caught up with my Lord Melvyn luvvy Bragg doing one of those reviews of 40 years of tv al Beeb do whenever they’ve run out of ideas. I lasted 25 out of 120 minutes before the lefty luvvie fest overwhelmed me. Oh, how much has this smug lot made from al Beeb over the years. ?
The funniest thing – if I may – was when my lord Bragg demonstrated our wonderful British humour by – you guessed it – rolling out bits of 30 PLUS year old stuff being – lumpy porridge – dads army -fools/horses and of course – fawlty. None of which would be made today cos they ain’t inclusive Enuff…..
The old stuff is just that .So much better and they know it. Sad really just how crap the comedians are now. Hectoring virtue signallers all and it shows.
I caught a bit of the late great Tommy Cooper on a freeview channel today. The one where he puts a blindfold on a wooden duck and tells that superb and very long story about a hyena ,a monkey and a lion. Unforgettable and genuinely British humour.
Compare and contrast Frankie Boyle and just about every last one of them.
I was just thinking about this yesterday. Tommy was great. Some good clips of him on YouTube giving after dinner speeches. Great one where he takes the piss out of Dean Martin who takes it all in good humour. but there are so many others. Where is the BBC equivalent of the two Ronnies today ? Frankie Boyle , don’t make me laugh !
Grant – they only had the one task which was to make us laugh. That bit of the job description has been edited out of the modern British comic’s set of ‘talents’.
I didn’t mind Blackadder or the Fast Show but that’s some 20 years ago now. The IT Crowd and Father Ted were probably the last things I saw on telly that had some decent gags.
Sadly there’s no equivalent of the Two Ronnies nowadays, and if there were they’d never get a look in at the BBC or Channel 4.
Satire, comedy and un-pc talk is still out there – being shared on peoples I-phones because the media and government has to present a fictional view of the World, where all is just lovely apart from those who know it is not. Pass the soma, reality encroaches.
There are so many to think about. “One foot in the grave ” was pretty good. ” To the manor born “. But there is nothing today. BBC comedy is dead.
PS No way that Spike would be allowed on the BBC today. As for Pete and Dud ……
You mean this?
Biased BBC reports..
5400 victims of FGM. In the Uk. Zero prosecutions. I wonder why not? Not a question the bBBC seem too keen to ask.
Then its off to ‘diverse Birmingham’.
Listening to the bBBC having to confront this ‘cultural’ issue you get the impression of an organisation being forced to tread on eggshells with ghastly reluctance. But of ourse, being multicultural and impartial, the bBBC cannot bring themselves to comment negatively on this appalling practice.
A truly dreadful and oh so revealing piece of coverage from our fine state broadcaster.
That’s 5,400/year over particular ethnics groups, all muslim
Whereas yesterday Victoria Derbyshire show was in angst about 200 under 18’s having labial surgery
..And that was across the general population.
Least we forget how it all works … videos, words, pictures … you don’t get to choose the arrangement …
Chaos as police stop Hungary migrant train – Gavin Hewitt – BBC -Sep 2015 @53s
“… the a really distressing incident happened. A women who was carrying a small baby began crying for help (photo of lady carrying baby). One of her companions tried to help her (photo of man with women on track, riot police reaching towards them) Somehow there became a push and a shove with the police. She ended up on the railway lines (by the male refugee dragging her and the baby to the floor, but this is not said) with the riot police trying to pull her back, and this of course inflamed all the other people…”
-Gavin Hewitt – Sep 2015
Watch the video and as the male refugee (companion trying to help?) drags the women and baby to the floor, by force.
Even the Mirror (03Sept2015) says “… this refugee couple cradle their tiny baby, after throwing themselves (NO! Male refugee drags women and baby onto train tracks) on train tracks as police try to take them to migrant camps in Hungary”
Gets better. Two days (05Sept2015) later the Mirror then report it as
“Refugee who dragged pregnant wife and baby son onto train track did it because ‘death would be better'”
1. BBC Version uses words and pictures to hide the video version
2. The Mirror shows the video but uses words to tell a different version
Can I suggest a little story – “Male refugee forces pregnant women refugee holding child down onto a train track, police drag him away for her safety? Riot police then lift women with child off track with tender arms.”
The BBC, world leaders in Fake News, all the time .
I see lefty luvvie Mike Leigh is making a film about the wealth that commerce and trade brings
NO he’s making a film about the Peterloo massacre.
The interesting parallel between the ongoing Muslim terrorist atrocities of today and the Peterloo massacre is that in its aftermath, despite all the outrage at the brutality of the yeomanry, there was a tightening of the repression; as there will be a tightening of the repressive “hate speech” laws to combat Islamofauxbia and a clampdown of online “far-right radicalization”.
Lottery funding, by any chance?
Can’t see lots of people queueing up to see it, even in Manchester. Straight to DVD?
The Vaz oline himself, back on a safety review, according to the Al BBC … unreal
Vaz is just odious, absolutely no integrity, and no morals.
You know whether lining up Liam Fox(resigned in disgrace, fiddling mortgage claims etc) for QT?
Or Rees Mogg,(the Harry Potter landlord who voted against landlords having to make homes fit for human habitation) lined up for more. they are all as rotten as they come
Political establishment business as usual
… drain the swamp
Happy 4th July to all our readers. Are the BBC celebrating it ?
Think they spent the Celebrations budget on Ramadan and Eid
Not LOL ! I wonder how they will deal with Bastille Day. Quite a tricky one for the tiny minds of Beeboids . I mean , is it good or is it bad ? Need to keep things simple for these morons.
BBC website ” Can the US defend itself “. ( In the context of N. Korea ). Luckily for us we have “Diplomatic Correspondent ” Johnathan Marcus to advise we stupid idiots. But this is not good enough. Where is Frank Gardner when we need him ? FFS, the BBC are beyond a joke.
Al beeb doesn’t really know what to say about north ( or South ) Korea. It’s got an unusually good correspondent in the latter but doesn’t really talk about the North. Yes – it’s a long way from uk but if a nuclear war happens then the consequences will be hard to guess.
My point really is that whenever anything bad happens al beeb has to find someone to blame. Not spending enough money on defence , not enough soft power- anything to denigrate Britain .
They claim neutrality but do no favours for our country and with their self obsessed moral superiority on the taxpayers £ they could never realise the harm the beeboids do
it is serious not that the kiddies at the BBC can understand this. There is no way the people of the real USA will tolerate N.Korea having ICBMs. It does not matter who is President .
I suspect war plans have been in place for some time and all it needs now is for that idiot in N.Korea to miscalculate and that is it. Whatever it takes.
The good old boys of Texas and the rest of flyover USA will not tolerate a direct threat. I hope the Chinese who are pragmatic will understand this and put a stop to Kim’s lunacy.
Hospital Pogram on BBC2.
Anyone seen this program? Fly on the wall documentary inside chaotic hospitals. Blatantly political by the BBC trying to demonstrate how cuts are affecting hospitals/healthcare. Last week was so over the top almost condemning of surgeons treating Private patients, asking them real hurtful questions trying to make them feel guilty. This week nearly as bad showing people with mental health issues. Asking the medical staff whether the long delays are acceptable. Every scene is heavily politicised giving the impression that the Health Service is completely run down, under funded, under satffed etc etc. Instead of being a documentary on St. Mary’s hospital it is like watching a Part Political Broadcast by the BBC on behalf of the Labour party. I’m disgusted and think such blatant politicisation should be reported to OFCOM
The BBC again demonstrate they are despicable scum with this disgraceful piece of anti-Americanism crap they have produced and headlined on their world news homepage: “Trump mocked in Iran cartoon competition”
Why don’t the BBC feckers examine human rights violations in Iran – rather than side with Iran in posting this anti-American propaganda sheet. One of the cartoons even has a swastika on it and there are numerous references to adolf hitler. To the BBC you are a fecking disgrace.
There are no depths to which the bastards at the BBC will not sink. You are right. They are total scum.
Radio 4, Tuesday afternoon, I think the programme was called History Now. two ladies were visiting every museum in London gave the interviewer to ask the effect on museums of the austerity cuts. However this theory was rather spoiled by discussion about large amounts being spent. I don’t remember when Blair and Brown were in charge, people being asked by the BBC what the long term effect of large sums of money being spent on museums i.e. that the money was spent on capital, no money for staff and maintenance and debt for generations to come.
A few days ago on Radio 4 at noon there was a little 15 minute programme about air conditioning. It could have been quite interesting but it started with a few minutes about climate change. Both programmes sounded as though the BBC agenda part was bolted in on the orders of senior staff with ‘vision’ in their title.
Retired Court of Appeal judge Sir Martin Moore-Bick has been chosen to lead the public inquiry into the Grenfell Tower fire.
BBC 10 o’clock news.
Many don’t have confidence in the man the prime minister appointed to head the public enquiry.
His professional and establishment credentials don’t impress the areas local labour mp who says he should quit now.
Chris, a local (ethnic) charity worker, reflects the views of many. “They need someone who can emphasise or understand the feeling of the people they are representing. He needs to know where they are coming from. He doesn’t have that background ”
In other words he is too hideously white………..
Mr D’s blood pressure has risen considerably as he shouted at the tv that the enquiry doesn’t need someone to empathise, but somebody to investigate why the building burnt to a cinder. Where is the tenant of the flat where it all started? And did the responsibility lie with the management committee which I understand included the new MP as a member. In spite of her appearing on the news calling for the judge to stand down, the BBC both tonight and on Today on the radio this morning failed to mention it. And what responsibility has the mayor, he seems to be an innocent bystander, no responsibility at all?
You raise some good points Deborah . We are giving far too much emphasis to the emoting of victims in an inappropriate way. A sign of the times. There seems to be a willingness to subvert every process to give victims the final say. The honest truth is that many of these people are not well educated or familiar with British due process . Left wing agitators stoke this up further.
The local MP and the Major have serious questions to answer but are getting away scot free. For example the major is responsible for disaster coordination . That system failed completely and Khan is not asked why. He acts like a critical bystander . I’m still waiting for Coad Dents role to be exposed.
I hope who ever does the inquiry asks the residents or their relatives for those dead whether they had insurance .
There is an assumption that no one had any because they were “poor”. Well as far as I am concerned it is a matter of priorities where you protect yourself and family by insurance . Of course – if you are illegally subletting you can’t be insured .
It’s funny how al beeb will go after some stories but not others- like defrauding councils which need the money because of the so called ‘cuts’ .
Because the council botched the command and control at the outset HMG has had to go all soft by promising not to prosecute . Wrong
David Lammy, racist MP, said it: ‘a white, upper-middle class man’ should not have been hired to lead inquiry.
a disgrace to the House!..and a chancer to boot.
BBC likes to put NGO stuff straight into news stories, here’s an NGO boss speaking
…. but goes against normal narrative
Sept 2016 Bill Gates says Trudeau’s (OPEN) approach to immigration, refugees good for business
Well spotted. Dud something change his mind or does he not know what he really thinks ?
PS ” Did “
re Deborah July 4, 2017 at 10:41 pm
“And what responsibility has the mayor?, he seems to be an innocent bystander, no responsibility at all?”
..he reminds me of a newt! (…no disrespect to newts)
I used to catch them regularly in a nearby pond as a kid ( & let them go!)…but this little boy-mayor seems like a newtered (sic) newt.
In fact ..let’s be fair.. he is a useless little Pakistani bus-driver’s son who partly as a result of that “heritage” has probably progressed to a level far more elevated than his natural talents would ordinarily suggest he is capable of! ..nothing new there among the sub-species of “local politicians”!
..Rethink..he is nothing as honourable as a noble newt (esp. the greater-crested newt)..he is on reflection a cross between an earth-worm and a hateful Gollum-like creature along the lines of the al-beeb’s Davies E.
To finish though..it’s late where I am..a serious question..is Khan an inbred? Has anyone bothered to trace his genealogy?….could that I wonder explain his pathetic dhimminutive physical presence..poor little lamb.
Apparently, & so I have read recently, there are very large number of folks of pakistani origin in UK who are married to their first cousins (..you know I’m sure at school we were told that was “not on”).
Lastly & btw what IS a “mirpuri” pakistani? ..I’ve seen it referred to a few times in not so clever terms and need to know more…before coming to a conclusion about them as a whole.
I’m trying to gen up on all this stuff as it seems I might need to know wtf is going down with his “homies” (is that the patois”?) in the not too distant future..especially the way things seem to be going.
Sheesh man,……………why didnt you just he is a prize rwat.
Sheesh man,……………why didnt you just say he is a prize twat.
Dont know how the un-deletable post above didnt the delete option.
Can’t Livingstone catch him and put him in his tank?
“Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and the former director of public prosecutions, Lord Macdonald, are among those who have called for an independent inquiry into the claims.”
How we look after the armed forces that protect us . Al Beeb loves our servicemen . Not !
And the bbc understands that an army truck almost ran over an Iraqi cat. The unnamed owner said the cat remains traumatised and is simply looking for justice, oh and some cash, a house, a car and a new litter tray.
Remember this waste of money ………….
“MPs have branded the probe, which has spent £34m but led to no successful prosecutions, an “unmitigated failure”.
£34m yes!, £34m which could have been put to far better use , NHS doctors, nurses etc etc ………..
Just pondering what anyone might do these days to shock in order to get some attention because we’ve done:-
Being utterly shameless
I suppose if we add the pre-fix Islamic to all the above some mileage can be achieved?
You have just shocked me enough thanks, how do you even have time to do anything else.
It’s the little things:
Lawyers, the BBC, and BBC lawyers. Owned.
They will need to shovel more money at the cover up. Apparently.
Isn’t it great that in the wake of al Beebs institutional paedophilia in failing to deal with Rolf , Sir Jimmy and others it now goes over the top whenever one of their own – Cliff – has the finger pointed at them by some money grabber .
Then tries to cover up its conduct in court using licence payers money .
Glad I won’t pay for al beeb
“We like to be a conduit for your moaning”
Lanky prettyboy Dan Walker is rather frank about the format of his BBC Breakfast show when it comes to the subject of Wimbledon. You see, the story is that some players knowing they were carrying injuries turned up to collect their £35 grand competition pay but then retired hurt leaving the match audience frustrated with a non-game.
So when the BBC headlines each hour with the complaints of the Grenfell Tower ‘community’, well, in light of our Dan’s admission – go draw your own conclusions about the likely quality and the balance of BBC research and journalism on this more serious issue which has some real social and political consequences.
BBC: Journalism or a just conduit for moaning?
At around 0745 on Toady there was coverage of Sunni vs Shia Islam in the Middle East.
With reference to Dan Jarvis, a Labour MP, security beeboid Frank Gardner said in terms
‘ I know him well, he’s a knowledgeable and capable operator”.
I just cannot imagine a beeboid saying that about a Tory. It’s the friends you keep that gives the bias game away.
PS no disrespect to Jarvis, who served in the armed forces to a pretty high rank and so does actually know what he is talking about, on defence matters at least.
According to an article in the Daily Mail today, but sourced from the BBC annual plan, published yesterday.
They spend only 53% of their £5.1 bn income on actual programmes!
Is the rest classified as Jeremy Corbyn election expenses?
Quite a bit of the budget must go on promoting anti-government marches that start outside Broadcasting House.
Edit: Daily Mail link
Is everybody else fed up with the Grenfall grievance mongers yet
they’ve been offered temporary homes but its not good enough
On pops father and daughter without mother (i presume we are supposed to guess she is dead, shes not) saying new house is to far from school
he wants to be treated with dignity and respect as he is a “VICTIM”
the new place Is a mile away from Grenfall
get out of bed and walk her to school or get on a bus you lazy foreign fucker, have some f**king respect for yourself and for everyone else
Events like this just show what the Liberal Left are really like.
If we have an Islamic terror attack “it is never the time to discuss changing anything right now”. We are fed a diet of “respect the dead” and “don’t score political points”. Basically the Left shout you down if you attempt to challenge their policies. The best you get is a candle lit, a hashtag and to expect the same again.
But when something happens like Grenfell we have “PM May the murderer”, Corbyn demanding he needs to be PM, £mil new flats for the victims, demands to house victims within 100m of Grenfell in some magically built house, charity singles, Owen Jones saying “this wouldn’t happen to rich people”, Grenfell locals dictating who the next Councillor is, Grenfell locals dictating who the inquiry chairman is, government promises not to even look into the illegal sub letting and illegal immigrants living there etc.
The Left want loads of immigrants into the UK BUT it is the Right who are responsible for them.
It really boils my p1ss.
It’s a state of mind – ‘learned helplessness’. Reinforced by SJWs and seriously habit forming.
