Ofcom took over from the BBC Trust as the BBC’s new regulator on 3 April 2017.

Ofcom is currently holding a public consultation on its proposals for the BBC’s operating license and measures to assess the BBC’s performance. This means you have a chance to have your say and perhaps influence the future regulation of the BBC. You can read the draft proposals and send your response through the following web page:

    https://www.ofcom.org.uk/consultations-and-statements/category-1/bbc-performance

I do recommend looking through at least the topmost pdf on the web page before responding. This sets out the material you are being asked to comment on and the ways in which you can submit your response; I’ll add a heads-up that the online response form has a 1000 character reply limit for each question.

For what it’s worth my own response is reproduced below:

    Consultation Response
    ——————————

I think there are two serious problems with Ofcom’s proposed regulation of BBC impartiality:

    1) At time of writing 9 of the 13 members of the Ofcom Content Board responsible for overseeing the BBC’s impartiality are ex-BBC employees, [A]. This is untenable. The arrangement is comparable to the hypothetical scenario of suing someone for libel only to arrive at the court to find that most of the members of the jury are ex-employees of the accused. This would never happen, for good and obvious reasons. In my opinion those charged with judging the BBC’s impartiality should be people with no previous employment at the BBC, and their judgments should not be subject to review by ex-BBC employees anywhere in the Ofcom management chain.

    2) The Ofcom employees charged with judging the BBC’s impartiality should not be based in London. Arguably BBC News has to be in London so as to be close to Westminster. However, as we saw in the EU referendum, the politics of London are very different from those of most of the rest of the country. Given that the BBC is supposed to be the British Broadcasting Corporation, not the London Broadcasting Corporation, and given that the BBC receives most of its license fee funding from outside of London, the rest of the country is entitled to a say in whether the output of the London based BBC News is impartial. In my opinion those charged with judging the BBC’s impartiality should be based in towns and cities (yes, plural) outside of London whose voting patterns, either individually or in aggregate, reflect the voting patterns of the nation as a whole. The individuals hired should be similarly screened to ensure that their political opinions, in aggregate, reflect the same.

This latter point on diversity of political opinion might well be applied to the BBC itself:

In 2012 the Guardian reported that a freedom of information request had revealed that the BBC’s most purchased newspaper was… the Guardian, with 59,829 copies purchased over an 11 month period in 2010-11, [B]. This needs to be put into context. In 2010 The Guardian had just 14.5% of the circulation of the broadsheet newspapers : Guardian 14.5%; Telegraph 33.3%; Times 24.5%; Financial Times 18.8%; Independent 8.9%, [C]. The BBC appears to be disproportionately fond of the Guardian.

A letter in the Telegraph in 2010 reported that another freedom of information request had revealed that in 2004 the BBC spent the following sums (in pounds) on advertising for staff recruitment : in the Guardian, 231,944; in the Telegraph, 32,535; in the Times, 6,159, [D].

This evidence suggests that staff ratios at the BBC may be skewed in favour of Guardian readers, and that BBC staff recruitment may have historically favoured Guardian readers. If so, this distortion may go a long way to explain why the BBC is now viewed by some as the “Broadcasting arm of the Guardian”, [E,F,G].

In my opinion the BBC, and BBC News in particular, should be required to ensure that the statistical distribution of political views held by its employees reflects the statistical distribution of political views held by the nation it serves. Ofcom should ensure that this happens. Only when the distributions match, not just in mean, but also in shape, variance, kurtosis, and especially skewness, will the BBC be able to consistently produce impartial material.

Dr.E you’ve done a public service just by highlighting what Ofcom is…thank you. So rather than the regular rant about BBC political agenda it’s probably better to look at what ofcom is.

I looked at their website and was shocked by how many members are gravy train regulars as well as receiving taxpayers money through BBC pensions. Nothing will improve while the BBC knows it has a good friend in a quango like ofcom. No taxation without representation .

An excellent piece. The fact you are simply making the case for a BBC which accurately reflects the diversity of political opinion in the UK as a whole is what comes through. Sadly, the doctrinaire Marxist types at the BBC will not understand a word of it. The BBC is, after all, a job creation scheme for completely brainwashed left wing ‘meeja’ and ‘humanities’ grads. Yes, that’s the wall we always run into when trying to reason with them.

    But nice try.

Question time last night was awful.

I wish someone had asked a question “Why has there NEVER been a Question Time panel with more leavers than remainers”
I don’t know what Camilla blonde was but 3 remainers and 1 remainer Tory (although he says he will work for Brexit even though he voted against it) doesn’t make for good debate.

If miller and her gang get their way for another referendum, will we be given the option of hard remain and soft remain, the euro and suchlike. They all seem keen to point out that we didn’t vote for this kind of Brexit or that kind of Brexit and basically that leavers were all idiots who didn’t understand what they were voting for anyway.
All qt panellists keep getting away with saying this hard and soft Brexit and are seldom challenged.
I so want someone to come out with some truths about the bias, live on the show.
Nigel did once, on the leaders debates, and dimbleby almost swallowed his tongue. The neutral audience gasped in horror.

I wish someone from the ‘specially selected’ audience had brought up that the uk state pension is the lowest in Europe and considering we are told we are the 5th best economy in the world then something is very wrong with that.

I know some places like maybe Albania will probably have a lower pension but the countries I mean are the proper western ones like France, Germany etc.

        • StewGreen says:

UK pensioners are pretty rich, their pensions are not the lowest in Europe for a start.
And anyway one has to take into account theFULL BENEFITS : eg free NHS and some free care home stuff.

“There are 28 different state pension schemes in the European Union and the UK’s is not the worst. The UK pension will always be better than many EU pensions, and much better than a Slovenian or a Bulgarian one for example. But what everyone wants is something like the German or a Swedish pension.”
Some pensioners are sitting on massive UNTAXED house price gains
however with so called “living wage” and rates ..some of our costs are pretty high these days.

      Mr Goldstein ,
I’m in a bit of a quandary over QT . I stopped watching it because it was a weekly opportunity for selected BBC types with a token outsider to recite their lines , suck up to a Dimbleby and take the BBC expenses. Who watches it? Does it alter anybodies views? Is there much challenge to groupthink ? So apart from spotting politicians on the way up or down why bother with it? The leftie bias is so obvious now I don’t even think they claim neutrality anymore .

He acted agnostic about the claim during the campaign cos he didn’t want to split the Brexit side.

I’ll repeat this until I am blue in the face, but those people who say the actual cost is lower than £350m a week because the government gets £150m a week back are missing the point. Sure, the government gets something back, but it also gets something back when it spends £350m a week extra in the NHS. It gets back all the income tax and National Insurance on the salaries, corporation tax on the profits of NHS suppliers, shortly thereafter it gets VAT and petrol duty on money spent by NHS employees and so on, so that the net cost is far lower than £350m, just like the money sent to the EU. So yes, if the government does save £350m a week gross and £200m a week net by leaving the EU, it probably can spend £350m on the NHS which will only cost it a net £200m a week after it gets all the tax back.

And if any politicians or broadcasters are too thick to understand that, they should get another job.

Not necessarily, Stew. Would take too long a post for me now to explain it all but rocketing transport costs of 1990s and 2000s probably (almost certainly) impacted on obesity and helped create whatever obesity crisis we do have. (I actually think it is played up by the BBC to be far worse than it really is, but that suspicion just shows how the BBC has lost its integrity as a News Organisation.)

It’s all to do with producer costs, transport costs, type of foods that can be packaged, transport costs, nutritional values, transport costs, wholesaling and retailing practices, etc, etc, blah, blah and blah.

No, it was all about promoting Labour and what Labour was going to do.

Mind you, the best thing I saw this week was this BBC Breakfast interview with Sgt Alexander Blackman’s(Marine A’s) Lawyer Jonathan Goldberg QC.

Today programme on Friday morning leading with the research that the Cancer Fund was a waste of money. Is this the BBC who is only too keen to say how mean the government/Nice is not to allow certain cancer drugs to be paid for by the NHS? I certainly remember a couple of years ago a lot of publicity about a drug for kidney cancer being taken off the approved list. I can also remember a programme on the BBC where a cancer doctor was saying proudly that patients could be given an extra week or two of life if it meant they could attend a grandchild’s wedding or a special birthday party. Nobody asked the cost, or question how many nurses or hip replacements those extra weeks cost. But now, during a general election campaign, the BBC are only too keen to give the publicity to what they see as a criticism of a Tory government.

The total sum must be in the billions by now.
Is there nothing to show for all this money donated for things like people doing a fun run in a bunny costume.
Hasn’t all this money resulted in even one tablet or something, developed by charity donations as opposed to big drug companies.
All we seem to hear is this or that drug is too expensive and will not be made available.
Maybe all the research is given to the big pharma companies and they mass produce the drugs and stick a hefty price on it.
Just what has happened to all the money collected and the research it paid for.

I listened to the Five Live phone-in on this, this morning…just for a few minutes, mind you, before it had to be turned off.

The Beeboid was happy to spread the word that the nasty Tories had wasted money and had not reviewed performance…but things took a turn for the worse when some rang in to say how much they had valued the extra years that the Cancer Drugs Fund had given them.

What was noticeable though, in the face of all of this positivity was Gameshow’s stand in’s attempt to belittle or minimise what had been achieved. There were so many ‘but patients were guinea pigs, but patients suffered side effects, but these were only trial drugs’, it was very clear where she was coming from and the picture that she wanted listeners to take.

I particularly liked the contribution form the clinician who made the point that one of his patients was able to get advanced treatment…because in 2010, under the Labour government there was no cancer drugs fund provision.

Try applying to be on the show. They ask your ethnicity, how you voted in the election and two questions you would like to ask, amongst other intrusive things. Plus it is filmed in advance so even in the unlikelihood that someone strays from the script, it will be edited out. They try and make it look all accessible and spontaneous but it is anything but; it is all staged to get the desired lefty propaganda out and imply that most people think in their prescribed way, which of course they do not.

Why not film it live with an audience who have all drawn lots to see who gets to attend? What could be more free, fair and impartial than that? What do they have to fear? Of course that would never happen.

OK we get it, you don’t like Conservatives. But what has that got to do with BBC bias given that the moment any (Conservative) government policy is announced the BBC will line up three people to tell us why it won’t work, often before it has been put ‘to the house’.

Where did you get this ‘austerity’ idea? From the BBC or the Labour party? Government spending continues to increase, ‘cuts’ just means that they aren’t going to spend as much as the BBC would like. Hedge fund taxation – why does it bother you? if the fund gets bigger, so what? When the money gets taken out it will attract tax and also when it get spent. Increasing VAT: You mean the EU imposed tax that started at 10% has been down to 8% and up to 20%. Lots of rubbish claims about it because once imposed we can’t drop it below the lowest rate in the rest of the EU. Sanctions on benefits: If you are claiming benefits stick to the rules, simple. Bedroom ‘tax’, ah yes, bringing in the same rules to public housing as Labour brought in for private housing.

All good stuff that one can have a debate about but absolutely nothing to do with BBC bias, just the other half of the BBC standard excuse, ‘complaints from both sides, so we got it right’, except that the ‘Conservative’ complainant says, “Why do you only make the Labour case?” and the ‘Labour’ complainant say, “Why don’t you push the Labour case harder?”

I note today the juxtaposition of the Oxford Uni eye contact bollocks and the more serious story of the surgeon carrying out unnecessary breast cancer surgery.
The link is the apparent desire of people these days to be labelled as victims.

For example, what Trauma did the surgery victims suffer when actually undergoing treatment that a genuine cancer patient would not suffer? Is not a mastectomy of itself a form of mutilation? Does its necessity as treatment actually make a difference to that description? Is a genuine cancer sufferer walking around after surgery attached to two drain bottles for a fortnight and unable to get into a comfortable sleeping position less worthy of our sympathy?,
Don’t get me wrong. What the guy did was unforgivable and the women affected should be entitled to some recompense, but are they saying they would rather have had cancer?
Or is being a victim the real badge of honour these days?

Does a member of their family have to be blown up/murdered by default before the penny drops that Islam needs to be eradicated from our society and way of life ?

Brissles – I don’t think catastrophic events will have any effect on them until they are personally impacted. In the French election I was surprised at the relatively low level of support for Le Pen given that France has suffered several “catastrophic events” in the last couple of years. Then I saw a map of France showing the areas where Le Pen did well. These tend to be in the eastern half of the country in regions with high numbers of immigrants. Native French people in those areas who see the transformation of their communities every day of their lives seem to vote for Le Pen. Those who live in immigrant-free western areas of the country like Brittany are insulated from the problem and don’t seem to want to vote for her, no matter how many atrocities are committed elsewhere in France. Seeing a terrorist outrage on TV appears not to have the profound impact that feeling like a stranger in the town you were born and brought up in has.

What a quote! I think the establishment globalists in France must now be having a few sleepless nights. She must now present a clear threat to the planned cosy establishment stitch up.

Because many of her policies are quite socialist it is likely that she may well pick up some votes from the left, who are concerned about immigration but at heart are still socialists.

It is a pity that UKIP in this country has been so effectively sidelined in this country by a combination of its own internal divisions and establishment/media hostility and plotting. The one effective leader (and debater) they had (Farage) was effectively pushed out to be replaced by a far less capable individual.

The Germans seem to be sinking into an even deeper coma. I have just been watching Weltspiegel on a German BBC showcasing Soviet-style ” a glorious achievement of our multiculturalism’. Arsalan Fateh is a policeman on the beat in Karlsruhe A 22 year old Afghan refugee, neatlty big-bearded, who is not actually a German citizen. This is the implementation of the masterplan to deploy immigrant policemen as “cultural intermediaries” between the German justice system and vibrant communities from Lebanon, Albania, Kosovo, etc. The camera followed Arsalan on the beat with his politically correct female partner. One angry nativist accosts the duo to tell them “They were doing nothing to fight crime and the police was being infiltated by wogs (Kanaken)” Both officers agreed nothing like this had ever happened before. In another incident, Arsalan notices something suspicious about three young “men”. They give chase and stop the young men. They refuse being searched and are “diisrespectful and aggressive”. The duo call for help and another 10!! officers turn up to “contain the situation by a show of overwhelming force”. It turns out that Arsalan’s instincts were correct one of the young men was a Kosovan wanted for 20 robberies. Strangely, Arsalan ends the piece by saying that his Migrationshintergrund did not play any role in this incident. It is difficult to work out the point of anything in the Merkel Madhouse

I was so reassured this morning, to hear Simon Fanshaw tell us on the sofa the news that the terrorist arrested in Downing St was not all bad.
He was actually on the infamous aid convoy the evil Israelis turned back from Gaza, and not only that, but his family were the ones who informed the police he was about to do something.
    Sheesh..

Now I can sleep soundly in my bed.

BBC news this morning, the paper review.

Talking about the French election, the person reviewing the papers says “let’s hope the fascists don’t win”… then comes out with “the far right should I say”.

Cue long camera shot of both presenters not having a clue how to react to that. Should they provide balance, was the bias too obvious? In the end they move on to the next topic without further comment.

It boils my blood they use my money to tell others what to think in such a biased way with no balance. People who aren’t as interested in politics as us form their opinions based on these snippets of ‘news’. It is brainwashing propaganda, simple as that.

  36. Rick Bradford says:

The Canadian academic Jordan Peterson has an interesting analysis of people whom he calls the “ideologically possessed”.

The ideologically possessed, he says, have a small set of axioms (no more than 5 or 7), from which everything follows, and which generates all their content, without the need for any further thought on their part. For example, the BBC has 2 axioms:
    1. Elites know best; the peasants know nothing
    2. Success equals oppression: Oppressors are therefore White (western) people, male, Christian (or Jewish), heterosexual. Corollary: All minorities are victims; non-White, Muslim, women, the gender-confused.

Given those, everything the BBC does makes sense. From axiom 1:

    * Brexit referendum result should be ignored
    * Democracy has failed us and should be revised
    * Supranational bureaucracy governments (EU), or one world government is good
    * Our opponents are stupid, brainwashed, or occasionally just evil

    From axiom 2:
    * Immigration, especially Muslim, is good
    * Gender must be balkanised
    * Religion (except Islam) must be vilified
    * Find racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia in everything.
    * Reason and rationality are oppressive in themselves.

(Peterson, incidentally, has become a hate figure in some Canadian circles for refusing to be coerced into using “gender-neutral pronouns” such as ‘zi’ and ‘zer’ instead of he, she, him, her.)

      A neat way of understanding the mind set of the liberal lefties, which has puzzled me for a long time. Perhaps the first axiom should read , for the sake of clarity, ;
‘ liberal elites know best, peasants know nothing and if you are not a thick peasant, but not a member of my gilded liberal left globalist elite either , you are a fascist.’

        Yes, that’s the ‘evil’ bit.

Take the signature Leftist issue of global warming.

If you don’t buy into imminent planetary thermageddon, you are either a dumb peasant who can’t understand the issues, someone who has listened to Fox News and been brainwashed, or a member of the evil Big Oil cartel who understands the dangers but ignores them in the name of immediate personal greed.

Underscoring that this was nothing more than another part of the Leftist agenda were the signs on display at the march.

“Things to stop denying the existence of: Climate change, White privilege, Male privilege, Environmental racism, Hetero privilege, CIS privilege”

          and of course:

The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate at Bergen Norway

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic
          zone.

Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.

Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the Gulf Stream still very warm.

Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelt which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

          =====================================================================

I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post – 94 years ago.

This must have been caused by the Model T Ford’s emissions or possibly from horse and cattle flatulence?

Never mind that there were two separate terrorist incidents on Thursday.

No longer. The Police and that statement quoted by the BBC and the rest – is now contradicted – just minutes before Masood began the rampage in which five people died and 50 were injured, the Muslim convert messaged that he was waging jihad in revenge against Western military action in Muslim countries in the Middle East.

Watched a recording last night of a recent ‘Tonight’ on ITV.

The program is looking at ex-pats living elsewhere in the EU.

I had to laugh as one chap said living in Spain was wonderful and just like back in the good old days in England. ‘You don’t even have to lock the door’ he brags.

Reporter missed the opportunity to tell him that those days are gone, you can’t expect to live in the past, the 50’s and 60’s weren’t all the good. They could have reminded how him how racist and intolerant we were back then, why would you want wind back the clock sir?

But I guess only the residents of England are unrealistic for wanting things to be like they used to be.

I did however enjoy the guy who said something alone the lines of ‘I don’t live in England and I respect the decision my fellow Brits made, after all they are the ones who must be losing out’.

It was sickening to see people claiming we have to stay in because when they left the UK nobody told them there was a risk of the UK leaving the EU.

Didn’t see that – but I can confirm that in this pleasant little nook of France Profonde, we don’t lock the house, or the cars, we can leave anything outside, safely, in the knowledge that it’ll still be there later/in the morning. No charge for parking in the local town, and it IS rather like the rural Former UK would have been like in the fifties. Comparative bliss. I wouldn’t go back to my mother country for anything other than a family funeral (and there are very few of them left) for all the tea in China (or all the sauvignon in the cellar).

It’ll see me out, here, Brexit/Frexit, or not.

…because when they left the UK nobody told them there was a risk of the UK leaving the EU……

For many years my career in property led me to selling property abroad. Mainly on the Spanish Costas. Those buying to retire gave little thought to what would happen in the UK after they left, their main concern was their pension and how far it would go in their adopted home. Many burned their bridges and sold up entirely to fund their new found lifestyle; but I encouraged them to at least buy a bolt-hole in this country, because the chances were that one of them would die, and the Costas can be a lonely place for a singleton in a community of couples. Some took the advice but most went blindly ahead – so the point of ‘nobody told them’ shows the short sightedness and lack of intelligence in seeing the bigger picture when faced with a living environment of 90% sunshine, when we all know that nothing remains the same.

As for the 50’s and 60’s not being all good, well I remember it being more positive than negative. We may have advanced in many areas, including medicine, but conversely our hospitals are a lot filthier now than back then; technology is galloping ahead at the expense of family meals around the table; if any one person was raped it was national news not an everyday occurrence; the Pill stopped the need for back street abortions; oh and in 1953 when I was 5 years old I started in the infants school – I was taken by my Mum on the first day to show me the way, and I went on my own (as did hundreds of others)forever after that, compare that to now when 15 year olds are still being ferried in cars – all due to these pornographic times of ‘stranger danger’.

I won’t deny we were ‘racist and intolerant’, to the Irish, Blacks and Gypsies, but certainly no more so than today. Personally I don’t think racism will ever be eradicated, even in 100 years, its the nature of the beast; there will always be a sector that will remain unwelcome and be pilloried because of it. So all the catawauling / protesting / screaming like fishwives the chant of ‘racist’ won’t make the slightest bit of difference – people just shrug their shoulders and move on.

    https://spectator.com.au/2017/04/open-borders-capturing-elites/

This is worth bearing in mind when the BBC start promoting it as they inevitably will do.

Over recent months considerable global attention has focussed on the issue of immigration, but most of this discussion has centred on political developments. What is less well understood in the general community is the extent to which the ‘open borders’ philosophy has captured elite policy-making circles around the world, a phenomenon evident here as much as anywhere else.

The intellectual origins of the open borders movement are relatively recent, with real lift-off occurring in the 2000s through an odd combination of radical Left groups in Europe and economists in North America. In Europe, radical Left groups took the principle of freedom of movement within the European Union and extended it to the utopian aim of abandoning all borders across the globe and granting people the right to live wherever they wish. The British Communist Party, for example, now lists global open borders as a moral imperative and key political goal. Roughly parallel with the rise on the extreme Left, a number of economists, mostly working in the United States, started claiming borders to be inefficient barriers to people movement and modelling what they saw as the resulting economic costs from a global misallocation of resources. Economists form the intellectual core of the growing Open Borders movement advocating the end of migration restrictions.

We are having demonstrated in this article that the open borders commitments are a product of the extreme Left, and as the BBC are promoting open borders that would make the BBC a bias towards not just the left but the extreme Left.

Hillary Clinton spoke of her ‘dream’ of hemispheric open borders

A world without borders would be Mad Max mayhem rather than Rousseauian picnic, and the anarchy unleashed by uncontrolled migrating masses would see global economic activity plummet.

The end product of the open border economic assumptions, mistaking volume for prosperity, is a permanent ratchet towards convergence with less developed countries. A slide towards the status of a middle-income country is quite possible even as economists tout the higher overall GDP.

Anybody mug enough to listen to the BBCs caterwaulings over the “united, terrifying and truly scary EU” as it “threatens to crush the life out of this putrid dismal little island of no consequence” with “massive bills” and with ” all manner of nastiness”-and all for DARING to exercise its vote and entitlement to leave the poxy flophouse that is the EU?-well, I can only pity them if they REALLY think that the EU will be any kind of threat. Unless it rolls over onto us by way of cot death.
FFS-have a look at the BBcs damned pictures.
1.A drunken incoherent and clearly useless Juncker-who needs Tusk as a sibling saviour lest his kidneys pack up.
2.Little Hollande up on his cantilever cuban heels and yapping at nothing much-Peter Galzes body double will be gone soon, so wht the hell has HE got yo scare us with.
    3. The E.U will be gone soon-incoherent economic chaos via the Italian banks withing a few years if not civil war with the coming Islamic atrocities that will inevitably follow with Macron.
    4. This so-called “united front” of the E.U is a prepaid padded draft piece of pus hanging from Verhofstads dick…it represents nothing and means nothing. Orban, Klaus and the rest of New Europe will see that. So the BBC have NOTHING to tell us-they only suck the EU behind the velvet drapes, as their fat flatulent wizard affects some kind of relevance, moment or purpose in this world, 2017.
Piss off BBC…stop the shadow puppets and trying to scare us with YOUR E.U prepaid moanings. The EU will be gone soon, and you lot of quislings will have to beg to get onto Eurovision then.
And as we all know-the BBC have absolutely NO influence anymore-just flake news from their rancid flagsheep programmes.

      Chris,
The Remain plan for this election, developed in full consultation with the EU big wigs ,is a continuation of Project Fear. The aim is to limit the size of the Tory majority so that the fight to Remain can continue in the HoP. If the majority can be limited to less than 50 then the Remoaners will claim lack of legitimacy for hard Brexit. Once the majority is hundred plus all such claims re legitimacy are blown away.
      The tactics are to :
Promote the EU as an invincible block determined to crush little , isolated post Brexit Britain .
Promote discord in the UK by hyping up the Scots Nasties and the incendiary inclusion of a united Ireland in the never ending list of EU demands.
Promote the adoption of tactical voting to limit the Tory majority.
Needless to say the BBC and most of the rest of the MSM are fully on board with the plan.
