TODAY…..

Busy start to the day for the Comrades in the Today programme on Radio 4. They had TWO items on the Dutch referendum on whether to support EU expansionism into Ukraine. As you know, the result was emphatically NO to further EU expansionism with 61% of those who voted ticking that box. At NO point during either Today discussion was the SCALE or indeed the % mentioned. The BBC line was to playdown the significance, low turnout, nothing to see etc. Pathetic stuff.

They also ran a classic Nanny State item with the unbearable Shirley Cramer, chief executive at the Royal Society of Public Health droning on that  food should be labelled with the exercise required to burn off its calories, to help people change their behaviour. There is never an alternative view put against this inherent Nannyism.

Finally, with all the furore about the Panama papers (wealthy people seeking to retain their wealth, what a shocker) the BBC sends a reporter to …Norway. Here, everyone’s tax details are available for you to view on-line. The BBC line was one of implicit approval. Curiously, if one wants to know how much the BBC pays its “talent’ then there is a total REFUSAL to transparency! Do as I say, etc.

It really is an odious propaganda channel for the Left, cultural marxism at OUR expense.

Amen to that David, could not agree more.

The BBC also seems to have become studiously ‘neutral’ on the government Brexit leaflet campaign, simply stating it is happening and none of the ‘analysis’ on reaction that usually ensues.

Which is strange, as it is a PR disaster for the Remainders.

Still, there may be a slight shudder in the Farce, from CECUTT to HIGNFY at this ruling on ‘belief’ and caveats…

Guest Who, my wife and I are sitting down eating our cornflakes, excuse our ignorance but we don’t know what CECUTT stands for, could you help us please?

Apologies. An acronym I coined for the three (actually there are sub tiers in each) sub dungeons of the BBC Complaints labyrinth process:

      Complaints
      Executive
      Complaints
      Unit
      The
      Trust

The first is the drone section, which by default will reject everything no matter what, several times.

The second supposedly has Directors, who supposedly arbitrate objectively, but pretty much do the same as the drones, on get paid more and do their thing via ‘belief’. These are the ones who still ‘believe the BBC got it about right’.

The Trust is where one may get too after a year. In a few trivial cases they will find in favour of a complainant, trumpet their 100 page finding across the lands and claim they are independent and looking after the licence fee payer. They are, and do not.

Mostly they will meet in secret, talk to secret ‘witnesses’, and then blow off the complaint anyway, no matter how valid. To appeal one has to restate the whole thing over again from scratch, even though they have all the details under the CAS number issued (in theory). There is of course a character limit that applies to the complainant, but not the BBC responders.

If one persists they can and do give the first level permission to ‘expedite’ the complainant for the purposes of the BBC not wanting to account for anything it cannot. And they will do so using days of senior executive time and hundreds of pages of waffle and guff to justify censorship to themselves.

      Hope this helps.

Thank you Guest Who, we are much clearer. Good of you to respond so fully.

I am sure it’s true, Sir Humphrey Appleby probably taught them.

I, too, am wiser, thanks to Guest Who for the explanation of his excellent acronym, and to Wronged for asking the question!

I am surprised the Dutch are able to vote on EU expansionism. We are not it seems. No doubt the Russians are amused. The entire EU armies would probably cause a spot of bother to one of their armoured divisions. Not for long though. The EU has no military clout so should STFU.

Dave S, I was rather shocked to find that my wife worked out what the acronym STFU meant, we looked it up and she was right. After all these years, it is a side of her I never knew existed!

We both agreed with your sentiment though.

The worrying thing is, is that we may well be part of an EU Army unless we vote Brexit.

My sympathies for having to listen to 3 hours of propaganda. The depressing truth is that you only have to listen carefully to what is said, and also NOT said; and it is not difficult to find.

Indeed, Fred – bias by omission.

They are particularly good at it when wanting to paint Israel as the bad guys – which is 100% of the time whenever the ‘Palestinian’ question arises.

Old Evan Davis was rumbled last night in some aimless spat with Polly Toynbee on “Newsnaff” last night.
“Will YOU reveal your salary Evan?…I`ll show you mine if you show me yours?”
Meanwhile the only adult around the table managed to get a word in to say that it`s not all about THEM…the rich elite who seem to wriggle off the hook at all times-but will be more about the other 60 million of us who`ll fall victim to scams, to ID theft and worse.
Polly and Evan smirked-another sandbag for the privileged amongst us eh?
No-he was right-but Polly and Evan bluffed and counter bluffed coyly then loudly until the whole issue of how much these two get given was kicked into the long weed.
Both of course have second houses-Italy and France as I recall.
But as long as we shaft dead Camerons and not Kofi Annan-then fair enough.
Toynbee did sound weary though-clearly her hypocrisy is always showing at such times, and she said that poor George Monbiot gets the same “do what thou wilt-but who doest thou your doublespeak?” meme.
    Ungrateful lot aren`t we?
If only the lower orders wouldn`t go on so-for theirs is the virtuous cause…like Al Gore or Sting, Bono or Lewis Hamiltons.
Utter swill eh?…but they know they`ll be getting rumbled soon, for as they push at the Tories, do sense there`ll be some blowback for the liberal lefties.
Oh-and as for health-that piece of crap about obesity rates in Chindia went up and down the BBC News order throughout yesterday-led at 8a.m, mid section at noon, back up a a bit at teatime, restored to lead billing at 10pm.
What the hell was the point of it-won`t they die early of asthma, given their refusal to stop polluting-Miliband and Gore said it, so it`s surely true?
But why does the BBC give a stuff about the rate of Indian pastry consumption…isn`t that up to India…ah, but can see Jon Snows pith helmet getting pithed into, and all ready to bring little Krishnan with him to Columbo to yell at deep fried bhaji sellers very soon.
    Utter swill-utterly butterly swillish…

I believe Polly is now down to one on the south coast and one in London.

I think the Tuscan villa got too embarrassing for her, so it had to go.

Or perhaps she gave it to the Italian authorities to use to accommodate the “migrants” arriving from N. Africa.

The information you have requested is excluded from the Act because it is held for the purposes of ‘journalism, art or literature.’ The BBC is therefore not obliged to provide this information to you and will not be doing so on this occasion.

    You cheeky little peons.

Also on ‘Today’ this morning, Kamal Ahmed was replacing the usual business reporter at about 7.15 am.
I was still half asleep so the precise detail escaped me, but I did notice he was interviewing Thomas Piketty, the far left french economist and novelist much loved by our metropolitan beeboid elite. Sure enough, Kamal treated Piketty with the requisite degree of deference, bowling him plenty of softballs underarm.
There was one leading question from Kamal which caught my attention, something along the lines of
‘You would definitely say that Brexit would be very bad news for the UK, is that right, Thomas?’
Sorry I only have the gist, but maybe someone else heard it?
