Who, What, Where, When, Why?

The BBC and others have been quick to associate the EDL with the fires at two Islamic centres.

The fire at the Islamic school has been established as caused by arson and four teenagers have been arrested.

The cause of the first fire at the Al Rahma Islamic Centre is as yet undeclared….but blame has been instantly attached to the EDL because of graffiti sprayed onto the wall of the building.

The EDL has pointed out that jumping to such conclusions may be premature as in 2011 similar events occurred….but the culprits were in fact Muslims themselves:

Cops say EDL ‘not linked’ to attacks

FOUR cars have been destroyed by arsonists in attacks outside Luton homes over the past week.

The spate of firebombings began in the early hours of Sunday morning (March 27) in Bushmead, when a car was set alight outside a house in Chalkdown.

Another car was then set on fire in Brompton Gardens in Marsh Farm in the early hours of Monday morning, followed by incidents in Carlton Close, Biscot, and Newark Road, Bury Park, in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Houses have also been spray painted with graffiti and windows broken in a string of 21 criminal damage incidents which stretch back seven weeks, a spokesman for Bedfordshire Police said.

Several properties have had the letters ‘EDL’ spray painted on them, but the English Defence League says it is in no way connected with the incidents.

Det Insp Steve Ashdown, said: “The two people arrested have been investigated and there is no evidence linking them to the English Defence League.”

The police today should release as soon as possible the cause of the fire at the Al Rahma Islamic Centre and release some relevant details about the identity of the four teenagers arrested for the arson attack on the school.

As the BBC ratchets up tensions with claims of ever increasing numbers of anti-Muslim attacks the real cause of the first fire should be determined and suggestions that the four teenagers are in fact pupils from the school be dismissed if they are untrue.

It is of course unlikely that the arsonists were from the school…the BBC after all wouldn’t be so irresponsible as to keep claiming that the fire was an anti-Muslim attack if it was in truth set by pupils from the school or indeed any other Muslim….would they?

BBC radio 4 interviewed Tommy Robinson on precisely this subject matter yesterday….

I’m sure their intentions were “just”…

      Measured. Lucid. Reasonable.

Dear Ms Montague flapping and attempting the trusted ‘hectoring interruption’ technique to put Robinson off his stride. To no avail. There’ll be a meeting about that and doubtless a strategy for interviewing the EDL promulgated (exempt from FOI, natch).

“the hectoring interruption” from the interviewer to be put alongside another classic
        al bbc technique.
seen with disturbing regularity on panto campbells “your call”, a muslim spokesman is taken to task, so immediately rants over the questioner.
“hold on”, cometh the bleat from panto.
        Questioner gets faded away/muslim
        spokesman given free airtime …
repeat ad nauseum … ah the joys of the microphone fairy.

We’ve seen this before from the left…..The BBC do an interview with Tommy Robinson on radio 4, and then up pops Comrade Nick Lowles et-al, to condemn “the BBC for fraternising with their enemies”..

Lest we forget that this is the same Nick Lowles that was given carte blanche by the BBCs Panorama programme, to make a number of wild and scurrilous “racist football thugs” accusations, pertaining to the people of both Poland and the Ukraine just before the European football championships in 2012……Which of course turned out to be completely unfounded…

Robinson: ‘There are a 100 Sharia courts in this country’.

Montague: ‘But that law doesn’t govern you, does it?’

Robinson: ‘No, but it governs British Muslim women’.

      Priceless.

I expect the BBC reaction will be: ‘How do we adapt our scrutiny method and interview technique to stop the EDL coming across as reasonable?’

Of course, it will be inconceivable that Robinson sounds reasonable because he is reasonable; that the EDL are evil is a sine qua non, and if this is not axiomatic then the problem must lie with the medium.

just imagine this,a popular pub in london used by edl members gets burnt down to the ground ,police are treating this as a suspicious incident, police also reveal that they found the words allahhu akbar scrawled on the walls in this pub in red paint, local mosque leaders deny any involment in this incident and states islam is a religion of peace, police reveal that 24 hour patrols have been stepped up at key pubs in london to reassure local edl members who say they are living in fear of further attacks by islamic extremists in there places of worship that just happens to be pubs, just imagine that.

Would the bBC allow this to be printed when it comes to Muslims:
English Defence League leader condemns attacks on Muslims
The leader of the English Defence League has told the BBC he “utterly condemns” attacks on Muslims.

Tommy Robinson denied claims his group had firebombed an Islamic community centre in London, where the letters EDL were sprayed on the building. He admitted some of its tactics were “completely questionable”, but said “working class people” had no choice.
Fiyaz Mughal, from interfaith group Faith Matters, said Mr Robinson’s condemnation was “hollow”.

So after no increase on physical attacks in the Uk on Muslims after their latest peaceful attack on the non Islamic population the leader of a group of fat men is allowed to called a liar by a Muslim after he states his band of merry men don’t condone attacks on the faithful.

Yet time and time again where Muslims (And the bBC) have openly stated that Islam is a religion of peace we have seen blood, sweat and tears shed on the streets of the UK. and nobody has ever said that those words ring hollow. Makes you wonder about the religion of peace doesn’t it.

What the bBC doesn’t tell you about their so called religion of peace.

“When Islam rules all the world then peace shall come to the Earth”

    Yeah right.

I thought Robinson didn’t understand the word questionable, I think he thought it meant that the EDL’s tactics could be questioned. I only saw it once but that’s what I thought as I watched it.

      • Stewart says:

Whether he meant to use ‘questionable’ or not I don’t know but it was quite a clever answer
On the whole I thought it was a measured interview. Montague managed to demonstrate her ‘right on credentials’ but still allowed him to make his point
I ask no more than that of the BBC and only wish they could do more of it.
Robinson got himself in a bit of a tangle towards the end but in no way did he come across as the ‘inarticulate buffoon’ some wish he were, nor a violent one
In fact the only reference he made to physical force was in the context of ‘purging’ the EDL of racists

        • pah says:

He’s no ‘inarticulate buffoon’ but he does need to slow down his delivery in order to make what he says sound measured and thought through. Basically he needs the voice coaching that all MPs get. And that’s the start of a very slippery slope.

Oh, and I’d personally avoid words like ‘intern’. Brings up images of camps full of political prisoners. Not the sort of thing to encourage if you want to avoid being called a fascist.

Setting fire to a school is a crime, but there are good reasons why parents and pupils might not appreciate this particular school’s contribution to the vibrant and diverse community. Here is an extract from the OFSTED Report. If I were a BBC reporter I would have checked on this.

n Leaders, managers and the school’s trustees do not evaluate the quality of provision and hold staff to account and ensure that teaching and achievement are good enough and improvements made. The school has the following strengths n The Islamic studies curriculum is comprehensive and students make good progress in these studies. n Boarders feel safe. They are given good pastoral guidance and the boarding accommodation is adequate. n Students are taught to behave well. Students are courteous, respectful and keen to learn. They are self-disciplined. Compliance with regulatory requirements and national minimum standards for boarding schools
n The school requires improvement and must take action to meet schedule 1 of The Education (independent School Standards)(England)Regulations 2010, as amended by The Education (Independent School Standards)(England)(Amendment) Regulations 2012 (‘the independent school standards’) and associated requirements. Remember the vandalised Bomber Command memorial? It had ‘Islam’ sprayed on it and so the media naturally tried to implicate the EDL. When the mosque has EDL sprayed on it it’s the EDL as well. By the way, who actually witnessed this EDL ‘vandalism’..? Any photos…?

Anyway, days later CCTV footage was finally released showing a man of African appearance although I only saw this mentioned in the Express. Then the memorial was vandalised again a week later – almost total media black out.

Its revealing that one the one hand the BBC obfuscate and censor attacks by Muslims to avoid stoking up inter-community tension, like here
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-22637048
    or here
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22841573?print=true
And yet don’t apply same logic when reporting attacks (real or otherwise) on Muslims. In fact they are happy to blame attacks by Muslims on ‘white supremacists’ without hesitation or evidence
    http://www.wnd.com/2013/04/look-who-liberal-media-blame-for-blasts/
Are they not concerned that they might be encouraging a Muslim backlash that will claim innocent lives?
    Where’s the logic?
There is none, don’t forget your dealing with fundamentalist zealots and am not talking about Muslims.

Ah the EDL and the fire, the Beeb have been repeating that for a week.

However the Beeb have been totally silent about Mujaheed Abu Hamza the Woolwich Butcher who was a speaker at a UAF rally. No mention of the link between the UAF and the Woolwich attacks.

But then again the UAF are funded by the trade unions and the NUJ has great sway over the content of the Beebs news.

In an age of austerity can we afford public sector broadcasting?

Well what did you expect the answer would be?

lol of course we can because the saving would not be significant enough. Never mind the old phrase many a mickle makes a muckle .

Then the bBC apparatchik ‘it’s important to have a service which is accountable to the public which pays for it’

Oh yeah? In what way are you accountable when you never ever admit to bias or error or anything when the public complain? How are we the public supposed to hold you to account when there’s a Tory nominal head of the governors who appears of incapable of being in charge of anything sharp let alone something important !
