Dead Jews…..Just ‘One Of Those Things’ For The BBC.

Mardell strikes again raining on Romney’s parade in Israel…far from just reporting he adds into the mix a few of his own moralising comments which seem based more on a partiality towards Palestinians  than a desire to reveal any truths.

‘Mr Romney was talking about what he called “the dramatically stark difference in economic vitality” between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. He said that in Israel, the gross domestic product was $21,000 per capita compared to $10,000 in the Palestinian territories.

He said, says if you can learn anything it is that “culture makes all the difference”.

And when he looked at the accomplishments of the people of Israel he recognised the power of culture and a few other things.

It does seem at least odd that Mr Romney did not also reflect on the “few other things” that might have an impact on economic dynamism.

This is not to suggest that he should shy away from the argument in general, which is an interesting one.

But many would argue the recent history of the Palestinians has had a bigger impact on their economic prospects than anything else.’

Indeed….but whose fault is that?  Who has attacked the Israelis day in day out for over 60 years?…the Palestinians and other Muslims.

Had the Palestinians not gone on the warpath they would have undoubtedly had a far more successful economy, a thriving society and a good future.  Instead they chose to fight a war.

It’s about time the BBC recognised a few truths and admitted Israel is under constant attack from Muslims who wish to destroy Israel and the Jews….they are not interested in a two state solution…they want it all.

When the BBC start broadcasting such truths perhaps we will have fewer people mindlessly supporting the ‘Palestinian cause’….which is one of ethnic cleansing and annihilation of the Jews.

A cause the BBC seems to support with every report that rushes to condemn Israel at every move.

One of ‘those other things’ perhaps? ……BBC News kills Jews.

And it’s interesting o see their moderation policy in work…just what offends their policy?

What the hell kind of Zionist propaganda piece is this? The Palestinians want it all? Kill all the Jews? You realize Palestinians and Jews live in Israel right now. Tens of thousands of Jews and Muslims live in Iran peacefully. The problem here is Zionism and Radical Islam. Also, read up on the connections between Mossand and Hamas. It BENEFITS Israel to have a constant state of conflict, it would be detrimental if the Palestinians were allowed to prosper.

Looks like somebody thinks Hamas lies about their goals, and that no Jews have ever been expelled from Muslim countries. Any thoughts on the Hamas Charter, dude? It would benefit Israel MORE to have no more conflict. The amount of time, money, and resources they spend on defense could better be spent elsewhere.

And how many more billions in aid do you suppose would go into the pockets of Hamas leaders or the PA leaders or Egyptian generals if there was no conflict?

Another person freaked out about Zionism, I see.

So what you are trying to say here that it is beneficial for the state of Israel to be attacked with rockets daily?

      Really?

You are honestly saying that they approve of dodgy Russian cast off rockets aimed at their schools. schools which have jewish kids in them?

      Are you mental?

No state wants to be attacked.
No state who wants to prosper wants the constant drain of constant war.
Israelis are good business men. I know I have two or three good customers over there. They know peace would bring prosperity.
This constant war hobbles both sides preventing the economies of both Israel and palestinefrom thriving.
That part ofthe middle east has world class education. The entrepreneurship of israeli manufacturers is legend.
If the Arabs traded rather than bombed Israel could help the whole region blossom

In order to address your understanding of so-called “radical Islam” I would reccommend two books for you to read.
1 A politically Incorrect guide to Islam, by Robert Spencer
2 The Legacy of Jihad by Andrew G Bostom MD

You may find that moderate Islam is an illusion.

Well, exactly. Although I’m pretty sure that Mardell and I would disagree on what that relevant history was. • Biodegradable says:

The “Palestinians” only have a recent history.

Prior to Israel’s independence in 1948 “Palestine” was taken as meaning the Jewish homeland and “Palestinians” were understood to be Jews.

In the 1930s in Nazi Germany the graffiti on the walls said “Jews to Palestine!”.

What is now The Jerusalem Post newspaper was called The Palestine Post.

Arabs proudly called themselves Arabs and even felt insulted at being called “Palestinians”, a name that doesn’t even exist in Arabic.

It was Yassir Arafat who created the “Palestinians” in order to drive out the Jews.

      This is always worth repeating:

“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”

(PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein, March 31, 1977, interview with the Dutch newspaper Trouw.)

This 2011 poll by Pew says all that needs to be said about how warped Palestinian society is.

And it is this CULTURAL warp in favour of violence, together endemic corruption and perpetual whining about victimhood that leaves the Palestinian economy in a real mess, in spite of huge outside financial support over many decades

    http://elderofziyon.blogspot.co.uk/2011/05/poll-palestinian-arabs-prefer-al-qaeda.html

When the Palestinians stop being so damn nasty, they might deserve some sympathy. Me, after watching things in the Middle East going back to Suez in 1956, I am clean out of sympathy. If the Palestinians want to wallow in their cultural morass, that is their choice. I don’t see how it is in any way “racist” to feel this way.

      • John Anderson says:

You are a stupid idiot, Dez.

Pew is a respected polling institution. Just read the figures – Palestinaian society is riddled with hatred. Hell, they voted Hamas in in Gaza.

Not everyone, for sure – but large numbers of them. Remember the cheering in the streets of Gaza after 9/11 ? Have you EVER seen the chilling video clips of Palestinian toddlers acting out suicide-bombing tableaux ? Or the frightening scenes of brain-washed toddlers on Palestinian TV. If you haven’t – it is because the BBC hides them from us, they don’t fit the BBC’s false narrative. If you have seen them, you obviously condone them if you try to say that Palestinian society is balanced and sane.

And my knowledge of the Palestinians goes back several decades of news-reading, wsatching their “history”. They have made themselves a failed society – and the surrounding Arab nations have made it all worse.

Good luck to the decent Palestinians, I am sure there are many. But they are stuck in a morass of political corruption, false victimhood, vicious indoctrination of all children.

Your starry-eyed approach is delusional. And it serves to prolong the agony. It is way beyond time that Palestinians woke up to reality, started to be sellf-sufficient, started to concentrate on their economic welfare rather than endless vituperation towards Israel and the West. There are some signs of this happening on the West Bank – but it is all very late, and far too slow.

John Anderson is right. Rejectionism, a century of it, is the watchword of Palestinian society. Abba Eban, the late Foreign Minister of Israel said “they never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.” I have seen and worked with these people, and growing up in Israel I learned wariness and fear and mistrust. No matter how broad the smile or how loud the laughter, there was always the background of deep Muslim hatred, not only of Israelis, but of everyone else in the world. That is what shallow bigots like the triumvirate of Mardell, Humphrys, and Webb will never understand. A diet of anti-semitism is a veritable feast for your beeboids.

Dez – As you clearly have some insight into Palestinian and Arab thinking perhaps you’ll be able to explain why the Arab nations rejected the creation of a separate Palestinian state as provided for within UN Resolution 181 (1947).

        Dez,

Did you know there is no such place as Palestine? No? O.K. Just to help you out it’s a made up place because all the Arabs who ran away when Israel was created bt the UN ( remember them, they used to be humanitarian not anti-Semitic) we’re supposed to go to Jordan. There was no pressure from those pesky Jews for them to leave, Arabs who stayed have all contributed to Israels growth. The ones who left were troublemakers and none of the Arab countries wanted them either. Can you guess the origin of the PLO? Israel didn’t create this problem. Arab intransigence did. As usual because your head is stuck up your left wing arse you won’t believe this but if your IQ was in double figures you might try and do some impartial research and find out the truth.

Spot on. The Arabs rejected the creation of a separate Palestinian state under UN Resolution 181 because they believed as soon as the state of Israel came into being they could annihalate it. Which, of course, the following year they tried to do – and again in 1967, and again in 1973 – getting a bloody good hiding each time.

Makes you wonder where the likes of Dez learn their history, or perhaps they choose ‘blind spots’ which align with their leftie-worthy causes.

The Obama camp can’t fight this election on his record so they are making it personal. Mardell has received his instructions.

That said, the point is not why Romney visited Israel. The point is why has Obama not done so.

Personally, given the stubborn insistence of American Jews in voting Democrat against their personal interests I find it hard to believe he expects to shave more than a few points from Obama. I expect that rather than vote Republican they will stay home on election day. His visit is partly to firm support from a suspicious Christian right and partly to add to his international statesman cred. I would be worried by his lack of previous involvement in foreign policy except that he is facing someone whose initial experience was nil and whose success in his first term …

Mardell’s attack now is as much to take attention from Obama’s record as it is anything substantive against Romney. Fortunately the BBC has very little influence, not even among the ex pat Americans in Britain.

BTW the Palestinians are doing economically well because of massive foreign aid but even the BBC has reported (taken someone else’s press release) that won’t be enough for an independent state. Palestinian economic growth unsustainable – World Bank I’ve linked to it because in keeping with BBC policy of hiding bad news, this story of only five days ago has already disappeared from the Mid East homepage.

What the report and the BBC doesn’t say is that there is a massive Palestinian building boom, more than the settlements and even more than in Israel proper and that Arab entrepreneurs are through lack of choice quietly cooperating with their Israeli counterparts.

The results of both developments haven’t drifted down to the Palestinian poor but what does the BBC expect. This is still the Middle east,
