SUNNI AND SHIA

Biased BBC correspondent Alan writes;

“You have to look hard to find this story on the BBC website:

Imam dies in mosque arson attack in Belgian capital
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-17346927

It doesn’t make the Homepage (though ironically it does have a report on Le Pen running in the French election), nor even merit a highlighted report on the world news…just a line in ‘Europe’.

Could the reason be for this lack of reaction that the arsonist was another Muslim…a Sunni attacking a Shia Mosque? I’m sure it had nothing to do with religion what so ever though.

Imagine…or in fact just go back through the archives and you can find the BBC reaction to attacks on Mosques by ‘Islamophobess’ or apparently Israelis….where no one died or indeed no serious damage done. The BBC continues to hide the violence done by Muslims whilst highlighting Israeli ‘aggression’ of any nature and measure.

It highlights and goes into spasms of delight when an American goes beserk in Afghanistan but it ignores the cold blooded and deliberate murders of Afghan civilians by the Taliban.

Rewarding Muslim violence with favourable media coverage or at least, coverage that hides motives behind the violence, or the violence itself, will only lead to more violence…it obviously gets results politically and financially as politicians pour money into communities in an effort to look like they care. It’s a clever strategy by Muslims…get people to distrust or hate you…then claim victim status and have politicans falling over themselves to ‘protect’ and develop your community and culture.”

The BBC’s ‘Altered States’ – Painting A Picture

The BBC continues its ‘Altered States’ series of reports to convince you that the US has somehow become more divided and racist since the election of a black President in 2008. It wouldn’t be called ‘Altered’ if it wasn’t somehow different from before, right? The last installment also featured race and pushed a “Racist US” Narrative. I won’t go so far as to say the reference to the movie was deliberate because of the ugly, base, primitive nature of the proto-human to which the star reverted, and the BBC is making a subtle accusation that whites who will vote for the eventual Republican candidate want to turn back the clock to the days of Jim Crow laws, lynching, and real oppression of minorities. I’m sure the BBC editor in charge just thought it was a cute turn of phrase. But you can all draw your own conclusions.

The latest installment by digital media Beeboid Franz Strasser uses the racially divided city of St. Louis, Missouri to help paint that picture. The rich whites get the south side, while the devastated blacks suffer and are left to rot in the north. This selectively-portrayed microcosm is supposed to reinforce the notion that the US is racially divided, laying the groundwork for the idea that opposition to a black President is based on racism, rather than genuine, honest opposition to His policies. The city is clearly racially divided, and I don’t mean to denigrate the plight of African-Americans in this obviously failed city. I’m concerned here only about the biased reporting.

Strasser has previous on dishonest reporting for the BBC. His first series of reports were about immigration in the US (middle of pg. 4 of the open thread). The dishonesty lay in the fact that the word “illegal” was censored from every single report, even while he was reporting from two ‘Sanctuary Cities’, which openly flout immigration law and harbor illegals. It was especially dishonest to omit the term because this report was conceived and produced when the illegal immigration issue was at the top of the news cycle. This latest report for the ‘Altered States’ series is no different.

Spot the Missing Political Party.
The Democratic Party has dominated St. Louis for more than 60 years. There hasn’t been a Republican mayor since 1949. All the policies which have contributed to the current sad state of affairs in the city have been enacted by Democrats. Yet Strasser fails to mention the political scene. If this had been a Republican-controlled city, you know the BBC would have made sure to point that out.

The first black Alderman (the Board of Aldermen is the equivalent of the City Council in other cities) was elected in 1943. Today, no fewer than 13 of the 28 Aldermen are African-American, including the Board President. Now, does this sound like a city where whites oppress blacks and keep them down? It sounds more like Democrats and Democrat policies failing them than anything else. Yet the BBC doesn’t want you to know any of this, as it doesn’t help the “Divided, Racist US/Racist Republicans” Narrative they want to create in your minds in this re-election year.

(Coincidentally, another Democrat-controlled city and home base of the Community-Organizer-in-Chief, Chicago, also has the Alderman system. Funny how that works, no?)

As it happens, the Tea Party movement, which the BBC often portrayed as racist, and US President editor Mark Mardell believes to be driven by crypto-racism, began in St. Louis, when a white woman started her own little protest against high taxes forced on the region by Democrats. This was weeks before Rick Santelli’s famous rant which gave the movement its name. Strasser missed an opportunity for race-baiting there because he, like all of his ill-informed colleagues at the BBC, simply didn’t know. Of course, everyone here knows of the BBC’s ignorance on the Tea Party movement.

In any case, there’s something else Strasser left out of his sad tale of one city divided. While showing you street after street of empty, boarded-up houses and dead commercial blocks, he deliberately left out the fact that those buildings are empty because the African-American population has been leaving the area in search of better schools. They left to seek out a better life for themselves and for their children, because the Democrat-controlled city has failed them repeatedly for decades. Instead, you’re left with a racially-charged story without a single mention of the politics which led to the situation, with no information whatsoever given to help you understand it.

As always, don’t trust the BBC on US issues. Especially, it seems, when it comes to one of their themed series of reports.

BIASED BBC APPEAL – UPDATE

Hi there folks. I wanted to update you on where we are with the appeal to get in the cash to be able to move Biased BBC onto its own dedicated server with the capacity to grow even further in the years ahead without fear or hindrance. In addition, we want to have a first class commenting system that is helpful to you when you seek to add your opinions.

I am delighted with the response which has exceeded all expectations and which has been quite quite frankly overwhelming. This means we can now proceed to do all the things we want, including a site revamp. Please send NO MORE money – you have done enough.

What is so striking to me is the sheer number of people out there who obviously care so passionately about the mission of this site – being to expose and remorselessly challenge BBC bias. To all those who have emailed me – many thanks for the kind words and suggestions.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for your generosity and can assure you that the mission to expose the BBC bias will proceed – with a vengeance.

"so laughably inaccurate that I thought I must be hearing things"

Now, to be fair, it may be that Jeremy Paxman’s researchers are totally ignorant of British history – in other words, have been educated by leftist teachers. Because, after all, the tale of the Sudan spun by him last night sounds like the Guardian version of history. But as that CP Scott was always saying, facts are sacred.

Apparently his series “Empire” is a flagship programme. Pity the flagship is the Belgrano.

“Paxman’s version of the story of General Gordon in Khartoum was so laughably inaccurate that I thought I must be hearing things. I had to watch again on BBC iPlayer to check that my ears hadn’t been playing tricks. In a few minutes of television, Paxman managed to misunderstand every stage of the tale.”

Let David Blair at the Telegraph tell the whole sorry tale.

Paxo went IIRC to Malvern – where history obviously wasn’t taught that well. He should have gone to a decent state grammar like Bromsgrove County High School – Miss Scatchard would have put him right.

I can’t resist appending this family memory of General Gordon, taken from Hilary Hook’s memoir Home From The Hill. This chap, sitting under a tree in the 1950s, knew that the Turks ruled Sudan in 1885 – which is more than the makers of ‘Empire’ do.

“The chief brought us native beer in dirty calabashes, we gave him a mug of rum and sat under a council tree outside the village. The talk ranged through the usual topics, rain, cattle, raids, crops and recruits for the buluk…

‘You must be a great age,’ said Denis jokingly and then added, ‘perhaps you knew Gordon Pasha?‘ The chief considered this for a moment and then said gravely. ‘No, but my father often spoke of him, he worked under “Gordoon” Pasha when he was Governor here in the south. “Gordoon” Pasha was a God, he destroyed the slave traders. My father said that “Gordoon” Pasha’s eyes were like spears – no man dared tell him a lie. He was here many years, then he left us and the slavers came again but worse than before. They slew the great “Gordoon” Pasha in Khartoum and the Turks were driven from the Sudan.

Then terrible years came – we lived in fear. One day from over those hills …”

Huff and Puff

Forgive me for mentioning something non-BBC, but has anyone seen a more spectacular own goal than the Guardian’s unintentionally truthful advertising campaign?

“The Whole Picture” goes the slogan.

Everyone knows that the real Little Pigs were acting in self defence when they tricked the wolf into coming down the chimney and landing in the boiling water.

The ad boasts that the Guardian is ‘telling the whole story,’ when they’re so not.

They’ve twisted it, portraying the perpetrator as the innocent party, and blaming the victim!

Many a true word is spoken in jest.
I wonder when someone will point out that the message is not so much ‘we paint the Whole picture’; it’s much more ‘we paint the Wrong picture’?
Oh, I’ve just done done it, by the hairs on my chinny chin chin.

Tally of Death

Mustafa Barghouti was given a nice gentle time by Evan this a.m. Not that I prefer the Humphrys method of interrogation, which hardly gives the interviewee a chance to state his case.
But Mustafa was given free rein to spout a series of unadulterated porky pies.

“Is the ceasefire in effect?” asked Evan, nicely.
“Israel provoked the cycle of violence by attacking Gaza viciously. [it’s all Israel’s fault] ” replied Mustafa at length.
“At the moment you are respecting the ceasefire, there are no rockets being fired into Israel?” repeated Evan, to clarify that there are no rockets being fired into Israel.

“Gaza never fired rockets into Israel except as a response to Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. [It’s Israel’s fault, oppression, segregation, apartheid, occupation, settlement activity]” replied Mustafa at great length.

“How much public support is there in Gaza for these rocket attacks? ventured Evan, who might think that rocket attacks are unpopular with the peace-loving Palestinians.
All Palestinians are for non violent resistance. The rockets were self defence.” Says Mustafa, with a staggering disregard for the truth.Israeli spokesperson Avital Leibovich is talking from a tunnel. A BBC sound engineer is having a laugh.
“Are you respecting now the terms of the apparent ceasefire, that there will be no more assassinations in Gaza?” asks Evan, sounding slightly less nice.
“I believe your previous speaker did not give the complete facts, he said there were no rockets but as a reaction to Israeli attack. But last year 627 rockets were fired at Israel, the rocket launching has never really stopped. I can tell you that an hour and a half ago another rocket was fired into Israel.” Avital replied echoingly.
But Evan is more interested in how many Israelis have been killed.
“How many Israelis have been killed in the last few days? ” he asks, almost certainly aware, being a journalist who supposedly follows the news, that precisely none have.
What, none? That’s outrageous!

Do you recognise how many Palestinians have been killed? You do recognise that Palestinians are dying on a much larger scale than Israelis?” He asks, leaving the audience in no doubt as to what he’s getting at. It’s disproportionate, which is just. not. fair.

Oh Evan, don’t you remember, in Operation Cast Lead at least 1,200/1,400/1,500 innocent Palestinians were killed, while only 13 Israeli solders ‘died.’ According to the BBC, the more martyrs there are, the more righteous the cause, no matter how the situation came about. So until the requisite number of Israelis are murdered, Israel can never redeem itself.

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN?

Another item from Biased BBC’s Alan…

Interesting that theBBC who won’t allow climate change sceptics a fair hearing give ananti-monarchy pressure group (run by a Labour MP) free airtime….and not thefirst Labour MP or minister to be given a free ride on ‘Today’.

This is the BBC who won’t allow a secular ‘Thought for the Day’ but seems, ifthe cause is right, to waive the guidelines and allow what is essentially aparty political broadcast.

Will people who don’t want weeks of Ryder Cup golf, or Wimbledon or theOlympics to be given saturation coverage to the disadvantage of otherprogrammes be allowed their own 10 minute slot on the Today programme tocomplain?

Maybe we can vote on programmes we don’t want to have, or evenpresenters….clearly the much hated politics of ‘populism’ is making acomeback at the BBC.

It is a curious concept that if the BBC reports on events occurring around thecountry they should always have at hand a spokesman who can be wheeled out tospeak out against them…just on the principle that this is only fair andproper in a world of diversity and equality.

A good job for Ed Miliband when he gets the push….always ready to jump on anybandwagon and oppose something (even if he agrees with it…sacrificingprinciples for politics…he’s a star) …and no one pays him anyattention…ideal really.

LOBBYIST OR FREEDOM FIGHTER?

Biased BBC contributor Alan writes;

“Richard ‘Blackout’ Black strikes again…or rather doesn’t…..the Sunday Express reveals that environmental campaigners are being hired by energy companies to lobby on their behalf and to recruit a campaign network in places they want to build wind farms:

‘AN “ARMY of eco-warriors” is being hired by wind farm lobbyists to fight for onshore farms in one of the most beautiful parts of Britain, writes Kirsty Buchanan. While thousands of residents in Mid Wales have vowed to fight plans that would see up to 600 turbines carpeting the countryside, Action for Renewables, lobby arm of trade association Renewables UK, is seeking campaigners to champion its wind farms. The job description includes building a “network of local campaigning groups across the region” and identifying “campaign leaders in local areas close to existing and proposed renewables sites”. The group, which was unavailable for comment yesterday, is part-funded by Centrica, parent group of British Gas.’

Black seems unconcerned about the enormous subsidies to these ‘green energy’ companies but is disturbed about oil companies as he links to this story:
