HOW THE WEST WENT BUST….

An astounding piece of pro-Labour propaganda from Robert Peston, says Biased BBC contributor Alan

‘The Party’s Over:How the West Went Bust ‘
In a one hour programme describing how we ended up bust and bankrupt Peston does not mention ‘Labour’ by name once…even more remarkably the man who was Chancellor of the Exchequer and Prime Minister in Labour’s 13 year Great Leap Backward, Gordon Brown, also remains unmentioned. Who does Peston conclude is to blame for the present little economic difficulty we find ourselves in? Peston reveals the culprits, not Blair, not Brown, not George Bush, not the corrupt and unworkable European Union but that old BBC enemy Mrs Thatcher, with Cold War Hero Ronald Reagan thrown in for good measure.

‘Thatcher and Reagan introduced a new global economy that lead to the great unravelling we’re experiencing now.’

Curious really when you read what Stephanie Flanders wrote in 2005 about Brown’s stewardship….

‘Britain is growing slower than it has in more than a decade. The high street has ground to a halt, and inflation is the highest it has been under Labour. When we look back, in a few years’ time, at Brown’s economy, will we still see an economic miracle? Or another old-fashioned spending binge that, sooner or later, had to run dry? What is left of the miracle economy, if you strip out the cheap imports and the consumer spending? What is left is a lot of public spending. The only part of the economy that has grown faster than spending by all of us the past few years has been spending by the government.’

and read this for good measure….

(Blair) ‘painted us a rosy picture of a Britain at home in its own skin. Part right. But it can hardly be entirely true of a country with the worst cancer survival rates in Western Europe, where young people cannot afford homes, pensioners have taken a severe financial battering while multimillionaires are created overnight and violent crime is rampant on sink estates where the law surrendered years ago.’

What wankers like Peston fail to point out is that the banks were working fine up until Nu Liebore came to power.

Peston also fails to take into account that George Bush had the dotcom bubble burst wiping out billions, then 9/11.

The US sub prime loans were sponsored by the Democrats in particular Bill Clinton and Barney Frank. Anyone who doesn’t sniff the BBC’s arse can find that out quite easily.

Why didn’t the banks go to rat shit under Reagan or Thatcher Peston?

Don’t suppose Peston mentioned that the House of Lords Committee on Economic Affairs – tasked with examining economic policy  – was chaired during the period public spending started to rocket by one Maurice Peston, Labour peer and father of the BBC’s business editor.

Surely you didn’t expect Peston to do a special report that contradicted his shifting of blame away from Brown and Blair in his book “Who Runs Britain”.  Nor should we expect him to contradict the praise lavished on Mr. Brown in Peston’s biography of him.

This programme is evidence of your license fee hard at work, delivering Labour quality first.

Still, it’s nice to see a rare moment of sanity from “Two Eds” Flanders.  Too bad she’s forgotten all about it.

Blaming Thatcher again ? Yup , if a Beeboid was given a nasty future in a horoscope , Thatcher would be to blame .

Peston like his Labour chums will stop at nothing to deflect the blame away from them.

“The only conclusion I can draw from your failure to act is that you have decided to sit back, let the economic crisis do its worst and blame the Tories for everything. Don’t you think our young people deserve better than that?”

Blimey, just watching the EUcalypse on SKY.

Can only imagine what the BBC is up to.

The ‘keeps ‘being asked’ is if Mr. Cameron is hero or villian. Opinion seems to be he has come out well politically if perhaps not serving the UK’s interests well economically. As no one knows squat on the latter, and never has done, that latter might be one to file until the dust settles. Certainly a degree of decisiveness, vs. endless Van Merkozy fudge, may be best to clear the air.

Had to laugh on the ‘we want to hear your views’ vox pops that SKY ‘selected’.

Safe to say the majority were waving Union Flags whilst playing Land of Hope & Glory. But there was one, ‘for balance’, that was read out, and sounded like a press release from Nick Clegg’s broker. And did I detect a degree of teleprompter dolly tongue in cheek when she introduced this absolutely not inflammatory, not at all self-interested diatribe as being from a ‘Brit… now resident in France’.

From such folks with their pension pots in Euros, to pols with an eye to a nifty sinecure booing Dan Hannan speeches, the whole sorry thing seems preety much defined by naked conflict of interest.

To a beeboid the woes of the world are always down to Fatcha and Raygun.

I hope that Preston mentioned the raid on private pensions and the suppression of interest rates , both of which have impoverished pensioners, but his viewpoint is probably that it was Thatcher who was the milk snatcher, don’tchaknow?

Radio 5 have been in FULL attack mode on Cameron today. For once gormless Dave actually cowboy’d the f*** up and told the Germand and French where to do.

What gets me is the bleating from the left who say “thay won’t buy our goods”

That’s fine, we won’t buy any BMW’s Porche’s or Peugeot’s I wonder how long it would take for Merkel to get a phone call from the boss of BMW, Porsche, Audi, VW. We’re the biggest market for their cars outside of the USA.

They won’t buy our Toyota’s so we won’t let them sell BMW’s. This point seems to be lost on the BBC.

If this country said “Sorry, we aren`t suited to this project , you want one thing , we want something 180 dgree the opposite , so its best we leave and let you get on with it ” then only the powers that be in the EU would be responsible for a trade crash on the continent if they blocked trade with this country .
They wont do it so we could pull out anytime .

The good news is that the BBC is beginning to panic.  Webb’s frantic protestations about the dire effects of the veto (interrupted occasionally but ineffectually by the foreign secretary) on Today were signs of the strain of being brought face to face with reality.  Then we had – for balance – the obligatory 2 minute sermon from the Labour Party (squeezed in at around 8:30 so late in the day that it is not listed – at 10:13 – on the Today “Listen Again” page) which damned the veto although Humphrys – more or less – established that Labour would not have signed up to the agreement.  Then the denouement as the Today interviewer (Webb?) remained silent as Terry Smith of Tullett Prebon administered the last rites to the euroillusion.
