Question Time LiveBlog 1st December 2011

Question Time tonight comes from Dagenham.

On the panel Ken Clarke, Chuka Umunna, someone from Dragon’s Den called Deborah Meaden, Canadian-American journalist David Frum and union boss Mary Bousted.

So David Frum is the token right-winger. Nobody would ever accuse Ken Clarke of filling that chair, could they?

It’s a 10:30pm kick off. You know where to be. And how much alcohol to bring.

The Daily Caller has a piece on David Frum today:

Once one of the GOP’s most prominent intellectuals, Frum’s relentless and very public attacks on the right in recent years have been greeted with much fanfare from his former enemies on the left. The masthead for his website, FrumForum, highlights the glowing assessments he has received from a number of prominent liberals like Salon editor Joan Walsh, and he recently published a piece in New York magazine blasting what he calls conservatism’s “alternative knowledge system, with its own facts, its own history, its own laws of economics.”

How many Clarkson questions will be on this show tonight?

The Euro is collapsing, so that means the EU will collapse.

    Iran was attacked our Embassy.

The Muslim Brotherhood has taken Egypt.

But no the most important issue of the day is what Jeremy Clarkson said.

Frum is a big-government CINO these days. Sure, he counts as “right-wing” because he used to work for Bush. But Bush was conservative only in certain Christian values, not economic ones.  Frum doesn’t suppor the Tea Party movement, but does support the kind of wet conservativism exhibited by Cameron.  Frum and Clarke together might add up to two-thirds of a proper conservative.

I wouldn’t regard Frum as anything but centre or left-of centre.  He CLAIMS to be Republican,  but is widely reviled by most Repubs.  Just a smart-arse Beltway type.

Anyone claiming to be on the Right but talking about the wonders of bi-partisanship right now, especially regarding healthcare “reform” is not to be trusted.

When are we going to do anything about this? We are surrounded by left-wing, soppy, liberal, hand ringing bullshit. We are silenced because anytime we open our mouths we are branded as “racist”, “homophobic”, “Islamaphobic” etc, etc. Coming here every week and whinging about the state of the BBC isn’t going to achieve anything. If we hate it that much, then we should stop paying for the TV licence, refuse to associate with anything the BBC puts out, and get active. We’re not going to create the new Britain by slagging off left w(h)ingers and remaining dormant. It’s time to put these mealy mouthed fuckers in their place. To hell with Political Correctness. I want my country back!
