BRASS IN POCKET

Oops.

“The BBC’s font of all knowledge Arab, has been possibly in receipt of Gaddafi gold for the last 3 years. Abdel Bari Atwan, editor of Al Quds newspaper, is often a guest commentator on the BBC sofa. They happily ignore his rabid anti-semitism…..such as telling us that he will dance in the fountains in Trafalgar square if Israel is nuked. Documents have come to light in Libya which suggest he was in the pay of Gaddafi (in Arabic here translated using Microsoft translator)….

‘One of these documents are stamped secret it contains lists of the honoring of Colonel Muammar Qaddafi, the present document contains two names, Khairy Mansour (editorial writer dustour) and Abdul Bari Atwan, the Al-Quds Al-Arabi, published in London, Al-alkzavet is a monthly salary of $ 4,000 dollars paid for them for 3 years extendable and document issued in the year 2008. Document spread with lightning speed and are in circulation and agencies covered some forums even including Arab satellite television channel’

No doubt the BBC will ‘investigate’ and pronounce its horror as it has with the revelation that Britain had ‘relations’ with Gaddafi’s regime in the name of engagement, disarmament and peace”

There’s a thread on him here:

Abdel Bari Atwan: Paid Gaddafi Stooge?

    Although Atwan made anti-Gaddafi comments very recently, there’s suggestion in ‘Comments’ that this may have been  after any flow of funds from Gaddafi;

Also in ‘Comments’ on that thread, is the prediction that Atwan will
continue his ever-present, Islamic anti-Israel role on INBBC Dateline, etc.

    History repeats itself.

At the end of the cold war it was estimated there were 35,000 Brits, in some from or other, in the pay of the East German STASI. They were from academia, the trade unions and – surprise! surprise! – journalism.

I assume Jihadists have at least as many people signed up.

Well, if confirmed, one could argue that the BBC payroll was at least being subsidised, though the objectivity and intergirty aspect might take a wee knock.

Wonder if Bowen was involved, and got a finder’s fee?

He’s on ‘Dateline’ again today. If Gavin Esler questions him on this, I’ll eat my hat…and a few other items of clothing too.

Yes Craig you just know that he won’t be asked about it. Any half decent hack worth his salt would tear into Twatman over this.

As usual the BBC ignores the the wrong doings of its favoured children (like Amelia Hill and co)

Also interesting that week by week Obama’s poll ratings are dropping and the US economy is failing, yet the BBC ignore it.

Yes Martin, the BBC can be staggeringly predictable. As we guessed, absolutely nothing from Esler about it. Nada.

At usual, Atwan was given the first and last word on Israel and there was yet another ‘As Bari says’ question from Esler to a fellow guest. That’s BBC ‘journalism’ for you.

(At least my hat’s safe for the time being).
