Question Time LiveBlog 16th June 2011

Question Time comes tonight from Aberdeen, a city noted for sheer dullness, grime, and the unbelievably irritating accent everyone has. The motto on the City coat of arms reads “any spare change for a cup o’ tea big man?“. Even moss dies there by dint of being too interesting for the city. Black and white movies are often shot on location in Aberdeen, as nobody needs to take out the coloured film.

You’d have to be a masochist want to watch this Question Time. On the panel we have Wee Eck Alex Salmond, Michael Moore, Diane Abbott, Lord Forsyth and Scotland’s first home grown billionaire Sir Tom Hunter. It’s going to be dreadful.

The LiveBlog will also stay open for the bizarreness of This Week with Andrew Neil, and Michael Portillo. They are joined on the Sofa of Doom by failed MP and race-hustler Oona King…a woman whose name has even spawned its own verb [example: “She was talking so much drivel she was oonaking“]

David Vance, TheEye and David Mosque will be moderating the abuse here from 10:30pm. See you later!

With the picture painted of this awful programme, I’m surprised anyone here bothers to watch it, let alone monitor it and report on proceedings.

It all sounds FAR too depressing, and I’m depressed enough as it is.

Sorry! To be fair I’m stuck in the office on a stunningly hot and sunny day which has made me miserable.

That’s come across in the post a bit, possibly.

I may edit it later and cheer it up when leaving the office and heading for the pub approaches and my mood improves.

Those heading for a clinic in Switzerland need only tune in tonight although would they want their last minutes in this world to be that bad.

I assume Michael Moore is not that American agitator. Thanks for forewarning me. It sounds dreadful.
Can Aberdeen really be that bad?

You assume correctly; he’s the (LibDem) Sec of State for Scotland.

Usually I link their names to the relevant Wiki biography, although I confess sometimes I link somewhere else when they deserve it. Diane Abbott’s name this week links to a picture of her (sort of!)

To be fair, the BBC is just as guilty of race hustling.  When George Galloway won his seat in Parliament, the first question Paxman asked him was if he was “proud of having got rid of one of the very few black women”.  As if that had anything to do with his reasons for standing for the seat, and as if he shouldn’t have run against her cos she is black.  If that’s not race hustling and race baiting and pure racism, I don’t know what is.

    What a crock of shite!
Wouldn`t even put this lot on Bin Ladens compost heap.
What of the fat Yank-not here on Trumps behalf is he?
Hope there`s an obesity awareness campaign for Scotland which stops Moore from getting out of the airport…as if Aberdeen doesn`t have enough oil slicks to concern itself with without him showing up!
The BBC really want a fight don`t they?…well it`s not far off!

But hang on! I know that I`m clutching at straws here, but I remember Tom Hunter as being against BBC groupthink, so may yet show outbreaks of independent thinking if he`s the man I`m thinking of.
Alex Salmond again then-who`d have thought it?

Well, I’m frankly appalled by this !

The uber-hottie Diane is appearing on a prog for which I could get tickets (lie through my teeth about my political leanings and get tickets to be exact): Oh joy ! Oh frumptious day!

Except it’s taking place in ABERDEEN ! About as far from me as it’s possible to bet without falling into the North Sea.

    :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I’m taking this as an insult aimed at me personally, and will be applying (in green ink) to Auntie Beeb for an appropriate rebate on my licence fee after I’ve finished watching my ebony goddess via the telly-box.

    Feeling angry now. Grrr.  >:o

      Possible to “GET“, NOT “BET”.

My agony is affecting basic spelling: soz.

Boards like these are an excellent portal for those who are concerned about the bias of the BBC and the Islamification of our nation but can I express concern about stereotyping the indigenous peoples of this country.

I am not from Aberdeen but live and work there for most of the year and find it a great place and local people are generally fantastic and the complete opposite of the image the media likes to portay.

Many people in Aberdeen share the same concerns about the direction the country is going and the lack of the opportunity for redress but if message boards are going to divide the indigenous population geographically and racially then they are going to dilute their message and play into the hands of those they want to expose.

    Just a thought.

The Eye takes the piss out of every location QT goes to.  Don’t take it personally.  There’s a few of us Scots posting here and we’ll soon tell anyone who goes too far.

Hi Roland. Yes I am aware of The Eye’s sense of humour and enjoy his posts but somebody that I had previously directed to the site took it the wrong way.

Anyway, keep up the good work.
